Enhance Item Quality by Completing Nature Sprites in SoS: Grand Bazaar

Finding your way in a new town can be challenging, especially when nature seems unpredictable. In Story of Seasons: Grand Bazaar, you can team up with the local nature sprites to make the land more fertile and increase its bounty, but doing so costs some effort.

Luckily, we’re here to guide you on how to pay the price. You probably have enough resources, and raising the town’s happiness not only benefits your farm but also improves life for everyone in Zephyr Town.

Where to Find the Nature Sprites

As you progress through the main story, you’ll meet the nature sprites on Spring 13 as you step outside your house. These tiny, curious beings want to work with you to collect Happy Energy, which acts as an extra currency in the game. There are five sprites, each with a different role.

They help increase happiness and can take donations of bounty items to boost the quality of things like forageables, bugs, fish, and more. Improving their levels is important because higher levels increase the star rating of these items, which influences recipes and crafting.

You can chat with each sprite to donate excess items and raise your Sprite Level. Every four levels, their quality boost increases by half a star. They also unlock Cheer Time during bazaar hours, offering effects like higher quality items for sale.

Sprite Locations and How to Find Them

All sprites live to the east of town, on cliffs along the river. To reach them, use your glider to bounce on the barrel south of Gabriel’s house, then fly over to the ledge where their house is located. They appear every night after midnight, once the townspeople are asleep.

Here’s where you can find each sprite during the day, along with what to give them:

    Ivy

Ivy is the leader of the sprites, found on your farm in the clearing to the right of the red windmill. You can give her forageables like weeds, rocks, wood, or wildflowers.

  • Completing Quality vs. Performance Graphics Mode in Death Stranding 2

When diving into a grand adventure like Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, where stunning visuals and soothing music surround you, the last thing you want is for performance issues to disrupt your experience. Unfortunately, the game doesn’t offer a detailed graphics setup for you to tinker with.

Instead, you have just two options: quality mode and performance mode. While the differences might not be obvious at first, they can become crucial in certain situations.

    Understanding Quality and Performance Modes

Quality mode is all about enhanced graphics, which demands more from your system. On the other hand, performance mode reduces the graphics quality to provide a smoother frame rate and a more fluid gaming experience. For many players, enjoying a seamless gameplay is often more valuable than having the best visuals.

When switching between these two modes, the most noticeable changes include:

    • The colors in the performance mode become less vibrant, making the clouds appear yellower and the overall landscape look duller.
    • A significant change is in the foliage, where much of the grass shrinks or disappears entirely.
    • You may notice more grainy textures, especially during intense moments like boss fights, which can lead to blurriness on your screen.

However, adjusting these modes also subtly reduces graphic details that aren’t immediately visible. For an optimal experience in Death Stranding 2, playing in Quality mode is ideal. But if you’re experiencing frame drops or freezes, switching to performance mode is highly advisable.

From our observations, the game ran smoothly on quality mode on a standard PlayStation 5.

    How to Switch Graphics Modes

When you start Death Stranding 2, it defaults to quality mode. If you want to switch to performance mode or check which mode you’re in, follow these easy steps:

    • Open your map and press the left arrow button on your controller. You’ll see the System option at the bottom.
    • Navigate to the options menu.
    • In this menu, select the second tab from the right labeled Graphics Settings. Here, you can choose to prioritize either quality or performance.

Once you choose your preferred mode, hit the Back button. The game will quickly restart and apply your changes without affecting your saved progress.

WhatsApp is enhancing user experience by offering more control over data usage and device storage with a newly introduced feature for selecting the download quality of photos and videos.

This much-anticipated update is currently being rolled out to a larger audience and includes options for “standard quality” and “HD quality” for media that is automatically downloaded. These options can be found in the “Storage and Data” section of the app’s settings.

As noted by WABetaInfo, this new feature is presently available only to beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta version for Android (2.25.18.11) from the Google Play Store.

This update effectively addresses a widespread concern among users regarding managing the large volume of media, particularly in busy group chats.

Previously, all automatically downloaded media would use data and storage space regardless of whether users required high-resolution files. Now, individuals can adjust their auto-download settings to match their data plans or network conditions, allowing for a more tailored experience.

Selecting “standard quality” will generate compressed files, which means faster downloads and reduced data and storage usage. On the other hand, choosing “HD quality” maintains higher details and resolution, albeit at a greater cost to data and storage.

This feature is supported by an innovative dual-upload system for high-quality media.

When a user sends an image or video in HD, their device will automatically create and upload both a standard and an HD version of the file. This process is necessary due to WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, which prohibits alterations to file quality at the server level.

The recipient’s app will then download the version based on their predetermined auto-download preferences.

A significant advantage, particularly for participants in group chats, is the option to only automatically receive standard-quality media.

This feature prevents unnecessary data usage for high-resolution images or videos that a user might not wish to view in detail. If a user later decides they want to see the HD version, the app can still access it from the server, as long as it remains available.

This update marks a notable improvement for users with limited data plans or slower internet connections, contributing to a more efficient and seamless WhatsApp experience.

Meanwhile, users who favor high-quality images for important visuals can opt to consistently auto-download HD content.

The feature is anticipated to be available to all users shortly.

  • Only 7% of Emissions from Nations with Good Climate Plans

Only 7% of Emissions from Nations with Good Climate Plans

Understanding the Global Landscape of Net-Zero Goals

As climate change continues to challenge our planet, many nations are stepping up to the plate, making commitments to achieve carbon neutrality. These pledges are essential for mitigating the effects of greenhouse gas emissions, yet the effectiveness and transparency of these commitments vary significantly globally. This blog delves into the details of these net-zero goals, their implementation, and the overall impact on global emissions.

    The Surge in Net-Zero Commitments

In recent years, around half of the world’s countries, responsible for approximately 80 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions, have declared intentions to reach carbon neutrality by this century. A significant number of these nations aim to achieve this ambitious target by the years 2050 or 2060. This surge in net-zero commitments reflects an urgent recognition of the climate crisis and the necessity for high-stakes action.

The Quality of Climate Action Plans

While the number of countries committed to net-zero goals is promising, the real question lies in evaluating the quality of their plans. The Climate Action Tracker, an independent research organization, has assessed these commitments and their transparency.

    Acceptable Plans

Currently, only 7 percent of global emissions come from countries that possess acceptable climate action plans. Notable examples of these nations include:

    • United Kingdom
    • Colombia
    • Chile
    • European Union

These countries have demonstrated a clear and actionable strategy for reaching their net-zero goals, showcasing a strong commitment to transparency and accountability.

    Average Plans

Around 21 percent of emissions are associated with countries that have average-rated plans. Major economies included in this category are:

    • Canada
    • United States
    • Germany
    • South Korea
    • Nigeria

While these nations have made progress in formulating plans, their strategies may lack the robustness and clarity necessary to ensure success in achieving net-zero emissions.

    Poor Quality Plans

A significant concern arises from the fact that almost 50 percent of emissions are linked to countries with poor-quality plans. This category includes major polluters such as:

    • China
    • India
    • Japan
    • Russia
    • Australia
    • Saudi Arabia

These countries are either lacking substantial frameworks to guide their emissions reductions or have made commitments that appear to be non-binding or vague. The absence of effective plans raises serious questions about their potential to meet climate targets and can undermine international efforts to combat climate change.

    Insufficient Data and Unrated Plans

For another 7 percent of emissions, the researchers at Climate Action Tracker found insufficient data to adequately rate the quality of provisions. Countries in this category include:

    • Morocco (net-zero by the end of the century or earlier)
    • Ethiopia (targeting 2050)
    • Brazil (targeting 2050)
    • Indonesia (targeting 2060)

The lack of detailed data from these nations may reflect either an emerging commitment landscape or a need for more rigorous reporting standards to assess their true impact on global emissions.

    Countries Without Net-Zero Targets

Interestingly, there remains a global emission share of 5 percent from countries that do not yet have a net-zero target in place. This group includes:

    • Mexico
    • Norway

These nations’ absence from the net-zero commitment framework not only highlights gaps in the global approach to climate action but also presents opportunities for advocacy and engagement to bring them into the fold of climate responsibility.

    Implications of Varied Commitment Quality

The disparity in the quality of net-zero plans across different countries poses substantial challenges for collective climate action. Global cooperation and effectiveness in combating climate change are heavily reliant on not just commitments but also the transformative plans underpinning these pledges. The interaction between countries with robust commitments and those with minimal or ineffective strategies creates a complex web of responsibility and action that needs navigating to ensure a sustainable future.

In summary, while the momentum towards net-zero goals is undeniably encouraging, the paths each country is taking reveal a patchy landscape of climate action. It’s imperative for nations to not only commit to targets but also develop and implement transparent, solid, and effective strategies that can yield real, measurable outcomes in the ongoing battle against climate change.
