    How to Unlock and Use Solar Panels

    Solar panels are the first power source available once you get the Habitat Builder. You can find the Habitat Builder in the exterior facilities section. They are the easiest power source because they attach directly to your base and automatically face the sun when installed.

    To craft a solar panel, you’ll need one Titanium and two Quartz. During the day, each panel produces eight units of energy in the morning. However, once the sun sets, their output drops to just one. This makes them less suitable for late-game power needs. In the early stages of the game, placing multiple solar panels can help compensate for this low evening power.


    How to Unlock and Use Hydroelectric Turbines

    The hydroelectric turbine is the second power option you’ll unlock as you advance the story. It is more efficient than solar panels in many ways. You need to place these turbines in active water currents, which are identified by white air flow moving in specific directions through the water.

    A convenient spot for this is a current that runs out of a nearby cave, right near your Lifepod, making it an ideal location for a starter base. The turbine produces 12 units of energy when placed in a current. You’ll need Power Transmitters to carry that power back to your base. Just one transmitter can connect to multiple turbines, as long as they are within 100 meters of each other.


    Unlocking the Hydroelectric Turbine

    You can find and scan the hydroelectric turbine during your early exploration in two main locations:

    1. First Location: Look 358 meters toward 30 degrees on your compass, at a depth of about 30 meters. You’ll find the turbine beside a large crate on top of a rock structure near Camp One. It’s easy to spot once you arrive.

    2. Second Location: Head 186 meters south of the Lifepod, at a depth of around 90 meters. You’ll discover this turbine near some wreckage. Moving south from your Lifepod and descending into deeper waters will lead you there.

    To craft a turbine, gather three Silver, three Bronze, and three Titanium. The Power Transmitters are necessary to connect turbines to your base.


    How to Unlock and Use Thermal Plants

    The final power source is the thermal plant, which can generate up to 16 units of energy if placed in the right spot. These plants do not produce electricity in most biomes but work best when positioned near geothermal activity, such as geysers emitting lava.

    To unlock them, you must explore an underground cave system in the desert biome east of your Lifepod or in the hot zones of the Axum biome. When placed near geysers with flowing lava, they offer the highest power output.

    Locating Thermal Plants

    1. First Location: Travel 540 meters towards 105 degrees at a depth of 143 meters. Here, you’ll find three holes that lead into an underground cave. Follow the path to the hot peak, then head east. In the blue area, find a hole that leads to an oxygen-producing plant; this is where you’ll find the first thermal plant scan.

    2. Second Location: In the same cave, look for a pathway descending below the peak on the northeast side and swim down to find the second thermal plant scan. This area is rich with geothermal activity, making it an excellent spot for these plants.

    To craft a thermal plant, you’ll need three Titanium, three Copper, and three Gold. Like the hydroelectric turbines, Power Transmitters are required to connect these plants to your base effectively.

    In this zone, you’ll find 23 Aurylene to collect. Some of these require you to complete specific side quests to unlock more parts of the map. Here’s a guide to help you find every Aurylene in the Power Plateau.

    Originium Power Plant
    This location shows up in the Power Plateau. To find the Aurylene here:

    • Stand on the moving conveyor belt and wait for it to arrive at you.
    • Jump along the nearby crates to reach it.
    • On the second floor, after a winding conveyor belt, turn left after activating a conveyor and avoiding steam.
    • Floating around a sewage pipe, pass some conveyor belts to reach it.
    • Find and scan the Blight Core, then chase the Aurylene down the hallway.
    • Use zig-zag movements across two conveyor belts to catch it.
    • Lastly, near some trees, the Aurylene is present.

    Plateau Trunkway
    Here, the Aurylene is located in a small building close to the Ferrium ore nodes.

    Power Plant Comm Station
    Progress through the quest “A Robot’s Dream” after installing the Outpost in Power Plateau. Then:

    • Climb the stairs near the damaged robots.
    • Jump onto the robots and reach the roof to find the Aurylene.

    Old Dorms
    To locate the Aurylene:

    • Use the Scan ability at the top of the zipline elevator to reveal its location.
    • On the top level, after defeating an Originium Slug, take the path right and look into the pipe to find it sitting inside.

    United Parking Lot
    Here’s how to reach the Aurylene:

    • Outside the parking area, raise both forklifts to navigate behind the lot.
    • Lower the second forklift to create a path up to the Aurylene.

    Bridge Approach Camp
    Find this Aurylene by:

    • Entering a small building on the right side of the northern path.

    • After completing the Lone Wolf quest, follow the trail to the top of the collapsed highway to locate it.

    Shattered Fringe
    To access and find the Aurylene:

    • Destroy the Blight Core to enter the area.
    • Under a building, you’ll find it.
    • Alternatively, jump onto floating rock platforms to reach it.

    Bonekrusher Warcamp
    Locate this Aurylene by:

    • Running along the path on the right and chasing it onto the building roof.
    • It can also be found on the rocky layer above.

    Evacuation Zone
    Find it by:

    • Behind a hanging cloth.
    • Behind the southernmost building.
    • Behind a box next to the TP Point.
    • Floating on a vent.

    Each of these spots offers a clear way to track down the Aurylene. Be sure to complete side quests where necessary to unlock areas and gather all of them.

    Instead of creating new tools from scratch, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond brings back many familiar items from previous games, just updated visually. One example is the Power Bombs, renamed Psychic Bombs for this version, which perform the same functions.

    Psychic Bombs are the most powerful tools you get near the end of the game. You can only carry one at a time, and they take a moment to detonate after you activate them, but they cover a large area, making them ideal for taking down groups of enemies or a single tough foe. Starting with only three, your initial stock is limited. Fortunately, you can find five additional expansions, allowing you to carry up to eight Psychic Bombs simultaneously.

    You can also throw Power Bombs as a Psychic mote, which makes it possible to hurl them at enemies more easily.

    There are a total of five Psychic Power Bomb Expansions, and each is located in a different spot—though two are in Sol Valley, with one being somewhat indirect. Once you understand their locations, finding them becomes easier.

    Psychic Power Bomb Expansion #1 – Great Mines
    After dropping to the lowest level of the Great Mines, you’ll see a small hole at the back of the room. You can enter it with the Morph Ball on your first visit, but you’ll need a Power Bomb to clear the crystals blocking the way. Wait until you’ve obtained Psychic Bombs, then come back. Roll to the tunnel’s end and drop a bomb to destroy the crystals and claim the expansion.

    Psychic Power Bomb Expansion #2 – Sol Valley
    This piece of Galactic Federation debris is situated at the top of a pile. To access it, climb to the very top of the debris and open the crate there. You can reach this early with some effort, but a Power Bomb is needed to open the crate, so make sure you have one before attempting.

    Psychic Power Bomb Expansion #3 – Flare Pool
    Located in the Lava Works area, this expansion requires some setup. First, break the blocks blocking the entrance using a Super Missile, then cross the lava using the Vi-O-La bridge. The door will then be open, but you’ll find lava in your path. Make your way deeper, then return and activate a nearby machine to turn off the lava flow through the Morph Ball exit. Use the Tether Node to propel yourself toward the expansion in the section now accessible.

    Psychic Power Bomb Expansion #4 – Fury Green
    This expansion is near the start of Fury Green. Instead of heading to the Cargo Launcher, go down the stairs in that area. In the Quiet Clearing, head to the corner to find a Lamorn statue. Destroy it with a Power Bomb to get the expansion.

    Psychic Power Bomb Expansion #5 – Tokabi
    The final expansion is the most unpredictable, as it involves finding Tokabi in Sol Valley. If you’ve collected Power Bombs, you’ve probably met him once when he provided the Teleporter Chip. Afterwards, he can appear up to three more times, offering different items. Traveling back and forth between areas and Sol Valley increases your chances of meeting him again. Once you locate him after an encounter, he will give you the final Power Bomb expansion—though this might take some time, so it’s best to check in with him regularly rather than waiting until the very end. If you’ve already unlocked the Sol Valley Scout Bot, his locations will be visible on your map, making it easier to track him down.

    How to Defeat Sylux

    In this second fight, Sylux will focus on overwhelming you with various attacks, but he’s more aggressive and faster this time. He’ll also boost his moves, making each attack more dangerous and harder to dodge.

    Key Attacks

    Attack Description
    Homing Missiles Sylux fires five homing missiles in groups from his body.
    Energy Wave He jumps into the air, then slams down, creating a large energy wave you can jump over. He might chain multiple slams, producing several waves.
    Melee Dash Sylux raises his arm and quickly dashes to your last position, swinging in a wide arc. His movement is unpredictable this time, and he may swing twice during the attack.
    Shooting He fires his cannon while running around, forcing you to stay alert.
    Electric Floor Sylux floats, charges his cannon with a large energy ball, then electrifies the ground and nearby grapple points as he moves around the arena.
    Energy Bombardment Flying in the air, Sylux rushes toward you while firing a rapid burst of energy bombs behind him.

    When the fight begins, focus on identifying all the Psychic Grapple points dotted around the room. These points form a ring, with two on adjacent walls you can hang onto. Spotting these early will be crucial, as you’ll need to quickly latch onto them later, with limited time to search during critical moments.

    Sylux’s attacks will now be faster and more intense. For example, his Energy Wave can now hit multiple times, with him slamming the ground and sometimes launching taller energy waves you will need to double jump over to avoid damage. Missiles remain your best weapon due to his erratic movement, which makes hitting him with your primary shots more difficult.     • Wind Power: Wind turbines can be found or made, providing power at all times. Their output increases with wind strength, though unused power simply dissipates.
