Where To Find All Cacti Children & Parents in Far Far West Completing & Solving

While playing Far Far West, you’ll come across some very chatty Cactus plants. Depending on which group you find first, you’ll either meet the parent Cacti or their children. The children seem to have lost their parents, and it’s up to you to bring them back together since they can’t find each other alone.

You’ll notice glowing purple cacti scattered across the desert. You can pick up the children and walk them over to their matching Cactus parents. Here are the locations for every child and parent cactus and where they need to be reunited in Far Far West.

Every Cactus Parent and Child Location

Start from the bottom of the desert map and work your way up. The first two are close to where you arrive, so getting started won’t take long. There’s no special quest to accept; simply find each cactus in the environment, pick them up, and carry them.

Each child cactus will tell you a clue about their parent, helping you locate where they should go. Use these hints to guide the children to their correct parents.

Note: When carrying a cactus child, you can’t ride your horse or hold anything else. Be cautious—clear the way, run to your destination, drop the child, and then handle any enemies that follow.

    Cactus Family 1

The first child, closest to the map’s bottom, is just west of the starting point. There’s a circular pond area where the child is at the edge of the water.

Next, the second child is perched on a pipe above a river, near the shoreline. Follow the pipes northeast from the bottom of the map, and you’ll see the glowing figure. Climb and maneuver until you can grab it.

The parent is waiting at the pond near the marauder camp. To get there, go north, cross the river, and head to the map’s center. The parent is situated between the pond and the lake, right at the land’s tip.

    Cactus Family 2

The second child is found just before crossing the river, perched on a pipe overhead. From the bottom, follow the pipes northeast, and look for the glow. Jump and position yourself to grab it.

The parent is near a silo with pipes by the shore, on the map’s lower left. To reach it, head southwest along the shoreline. The silo is near the water’s edge with smoke billowing from it.

    Cactus Family 3

This child is located under a large rock arch, to the north of the map. Head north from the child’s spot, climbing with a hanging rope. Continue upward until you see the arch formed by two stone outcroppings, with the parent sitting to the left beneath the arch.

The parent is near a cave with skulls and bones. Find the cave to the east; the parent stands outside.

    Cactus Family 4

Find this child on an island in the mid-desert area. To get there, go to the middle of the map where water cuts through, and locate the water’s edge.

The parent is located west of the child, near a rocky area close to the shoreline, right next to a broken wooden boat on the shore.

    Cactus Family 5

This child is positioned in the northeast part of the map, near pyramids. To reach the child, go to the water area slightly north of the map center, jump onto a ledge of one of the nearby outcroppings, and look for the glowing purple cactus.

The parent is near a pyramid marked by two braziers, southeast of the child’s location. Head toward the pyramid, spotting a cluster of black dots, which indicates the area.

    Cactus Family 6

The last child is at the very top of the map, near a small, abandoned boat beach. Head up to the highest point of the map; the child is near a broken wooden boat by the shore.

The parent is located west of the child, just outside a cave with skulls and bones. To find it, draw a diagonal line from the child’s position heading south and west. The parent sits near the cave entrance, on the map’s left side.

Once all the children are reunited with their parents, you’ll be rewarded with the Cactus Day Joker.

  • Should You Kill or Save Shadowheart’s Parents in Baldur’s Gate 3?

Should You Kill or Save Shadowheart’s Parents in Baldur’s Gate 3?

If you decide to follow the dark path of the Dark Justiciar, you’ll find Shadowheart’s parents hanging in the House of Grief after defeating them. Lady Shar will then demand that Shadowheart execute her own parents. This is definitely the evil route.

Allowing Shadowheart to kill her parents results in their death, but it has deeper consequences. Their souls are sent into eternal torment in Shar’s dark afterlife, forever separated from her worship. The only silver lining is that Shadowheart’s memory will be wiped again as she gains more power, meaning she won’t remember her parents and won’t believe you if you tell her what happened. You’re left with the burden of this decision.

Choosing this route also boosts Shadowheart’s power. Any remaining Justiciars in the previous room will come under her control and fight alongside you in the final battle. However, be careful not to kill all the Justiciars in that room, as you’ll need some of them to join your team during the last fight. Without allies, you’ll miss out on key benefits of this choice.

    —

If instead you follow the Sune path, after defeating Mother Superior, Shar will still appear in the House of Grief and push Shadowheart to kill her parents. Killing them here is a very different story. If Shadowheart walks the light of Selune, she can choose to spare her parents. Both options will lead to her parents being rescued and joining your camp for the rest of the game.

To convince her to make this decision herself, you can trigger some memories in the Lower City that remind her of her past life. There are three spots where these memories can be unlocked:

    1. Allister Marnley’s Grave (X: 24, Y: 14)
    2. Graffiti on a wall near the Baldur’s Gate waypoint (X: -214, Y: -32)
    3. Shadowheart’s hidden spot in the Night Orchid cave, the basement of the House of Grief

You only need two of these memories to motivate her, but high approval with Shadowheart is helpful. Even if you don’t revisit these places, you can still persuade her to save her parents by supporting her emotionally and encouraging her to make her own choice.

If you decide to save her parents, they will be brought back to camp and have a chance to live out their days peacefully. Emmeline, Shadowheart’s mother, will still suffer from severe memory loss and declining health but will offer wisdom and comfort. Arnell, her father, will consistently give advice, and both will help lift Shadowheart’s mood throughout the story.

However, keep in mind that her curse remains. It is mysterious but causes her intense nightly pain and torture that will continue for her entire life. Despite this, if she survives, Shadowheart will eventually accept her loss and offer to stay with you, moving on despite her guilt. In romantic endings, she might openly admit her longing to reconnect with her parents, revealing her deep feelings and regrets.

    —

In a different scenario, if you betray Shar and choose to save Shadowheart’s parents, both routes (Shar or Selune) will lead to her parents being freed and joining your camp. To ensure this, support her in making her own decision when the moment comes. You may also want to trigger specific memories in the Lower City to strengthen her resolve—visiting places like Allister Marnley’s Grave, the graffiti near the waypoint, or her secret spot in the Sombre Embrace basement can help. These prompt her to comment and then speak with you, reinforcing her choice.

Just be aware: her parents will survive, but her curse remains. She will continue to suffer nightly pain, a burden that will likely persist, and her memory of her past will stay intact. Still, she might eventually settle down with her parents near you, living out her days, even as she endures centuries of the curse.

If you are romancing Shadowheart, she might express a desire to reconnect with her family, saying she would have given anything to speak with them again, even if it meant continuing her curse. Supporting her in saving her parents aligns with her true feelings and may lead to a bittersweet, emotionally rich ending.

    —

Throughout all choices, significant relationships and pivotal decisions shape Shadowheart’s fate. Whether she bears her curse in silence or finds peace with her past, the route you choose leaves a lasting mark on her story.

  • How to Beat Hinako’s Parents in Silent Hill F: Completing and Solving

How to Beat Hinako’s Parents in Silent Hill F: Completing and Solving

A key aspect that makes survival horror games so frightening is the option to fight back, even if it’s not always the best choice. This sense of freedom increases the tension when managing resources and facing enemies. However, Silent Hill still tends to throw you into intense boss battles at just the right moments.

In Silent Hill f, Hinako faces numerous fears. She is often looked down upon simply because she is a girl. Her own parents are the source of much of her suffering, representing how the world mistreats her through their actions. It makes sense that one of her final bosses is her own parents.

Hinako’s parents are found in her home, which she sees as a prison. Her parents never leave the house, and she feels trapped there. To her, that house is hell. When she returns to the Shimizu Residence, her parents are waiting for her at the end.

Her parents appear as a pair, inseparable in this twisted version of her home, just like in real life. You encounter them face-to-face after placing the Pine Emblem at the door at the end of the residence.

To defeat her parents, focus on fighting one at a time. Her father looks like a big, slow enemy, with only slight variations in his moves. Her mother, however, is a distinct enemy who fights using knives. While individually manageable, fighting them together is much harder. Since her father is slow, it’s usually easier to concentrate on her mother, who is faster and can be separated from him more easily. Focusing on her makes it easier to avoid his attacks.

When battling her mother, keep in mind that she has melee strikes and can throw her knife to hit from a distance. She also has a grab move that, if hit, will throw Hinako at the feet of her father. It’s crucial to dodge quickly here, or you risk being hit by her father afterward.

Once her mother is defeated, her father becomes more aggressive, letting out roars that greatly reduce Hinako’s Sanity. His attacks are similar to those of his base form: wide tentacle swipes, slamming with his knife arm, and a tentacle grab — though the grab isn’t very damaging.

You can win the fight even sooner by defeating her father first, which ends the battle immediately. Note that you cannot defeat her mother alone; you must take out her father first if you want to finish early.

Defeating her father first also grants you the achievement or trophy called “Just Shut Up For Once, Dad.”

  • ChatGPT Tells Parents If Teens Feel Sharp Emotional Distress

ChatGPT Tells Parents If Teens Feel Sharp Emotional Distress

In recent months, there have been numerous reports of problematic interactions with AI chatbots, some of which have led to tragic consequences, including loss of life, medical trauma, and mental health crises. Experts warn that young users may be especially susceptible, particularly during times of emotional vulnerability. The creators of ChatGPT have announced plans to notify parents when such concerning behavior is detected.

    ### What’s Changing?

Recently, OpenAI disclosed its intention to develop parental controls that will allow guardians to monitor how their children engage with ChatGPT and intervene if necessary. They are also working on a warning system designed to alert parents if their children, aged 13 and older, appear to be experiencing significant emotional distress during interactions with the AI.

When parents link their ChatGPT accounts with those of their children through a simple email invitation, they will be notified if the system detects signs of acute emotional distress. This feature aims to provide a safeguard, especially for teenagers navigating complex feelings and experiences.

With account linking, parents will gain control over the AI features their children can access, such as the conversation history memory, and can enable “age-appropriate” responses to better suit young users’ needs.

    ### Looking Ahead

OpenAI has laid out a 120-day plan to implement several new features intended to ensure safer and more productive conversations for young users engaging with AI tools daily. The company plans to make technical adjustments so that the AI models respond appropriately, especially when dealing with sensitive topics.

The organization also intends to direct particularly delicate conversations—like those indicating severe distress—toward a more reasoned, advanced response mode, such as GPT-5-thinking, enabling the AI to provide more supportive and helpful responses regardless of the initial interaction.

The protocols for linking accounts and activating parental controls are scheduled to launch within the next month. These safety measures are critical, especially in light of recent investigations revealing disturbing uses of AI chatbots, including instances where systems engaged in inappropriate conversations with minors, even aiding in harmful plans.

This step forward in AI safety underscores the importance of protecting vulnerable users as these technologies become an integral part of daily life.

Discover Gortash’s Parents’ Location in Baldur’s Gate 3

Among the many hidden stories in Baldur’s Gate 3, the tale of Gortash’s parents stands out as one of the most tragic. They could not escape the brutality of a tyrant, even though he was their own child.

While it’s relatively easy to locate Gortash’s parents, the ensuing events and decisions you’ll need to make present a real challenge. Let’s dive into one of the most chilling narratives in Baldur’s Gate 3 and explore the mind of the individual who aims to seize control of the entire city.

Where to Find Gortash’s Parents in BG3

    Location of Gortash's parents

You can find Gortash’s parents inside Flymm’s Cobblers shop located in the Lower City at coordinates X: -36, Y: -110. To reach this area, you’ll need to exit the Shadow-Cursed Lands during Act 2.

Flymm’s Cobblers is situated in the southeast part of the Lower City, just north of Old Garlow’s Palace. The closest fast travel point is the Lower City Central Wall.

The shop’s door is unlocked, allowing you to walk right in.

    Confronting Gortash’s Parents in BG3

    Decide fate of Gortash's parents

When you speak to Gortash’s father, Drave Flymm, you quickly discover that they are plagued by a Mindflayer parasite. Yet, your character senses something is amiss with their condition.

Using Detect Thoughts on Drave reveals that he lacks any thoughts of his own, functioning instead as a mere puppet, endlessly repeating words.

Next, engage with Sally Flymm and connect your tadpole to her through Illithid Powers. Her previously calm demeanor will shatter as she shares their harrowing story.

They revealed that they sold Gortash for money when he was a child to pay off debts. Eventually, Gortash returned and implanted Mindflayer parasites in their brains, rendering them unable to think or express themselves freely—they can only regurgitate what Gortash has programmed them to say.

    Kill Gortash's parents

At this point, Sally appears completely shattered and asks for help or a merciful end. Unfortunately, there’s no viable alternative to alleviate their suffering, leading to the grim choice of killing them.

If you choose to spare them and return later after Gortash’s defeat, they will remain unchanged.

The area is crawling with Gortash’s Steelwatch, so ensure you close the door before attacking the elderly couple.

    Key obtained from parents

The couple has low hit points and can be taken down with a single blow. Once defeated, you can loot their bodies for Mindflayer Parasite Specimens as well as Gortash’s Chest Key from Sally’s corpse.

Head upstairs and use the key to unlock a treasure chest, which will contain a book outlining the plans of the Three Warlords, as well as directions to Hellsik’s shop if you haven’t discovered it yet.

  • 24% of Parents Misled on Vaccines Delay Children’s Shots

24% of Parents Misled on Vaccines Delay Children’s Shots

Understanding Vaccine Misinformation and Its Impact on Childhood Vaccination Rates

    The Landscape of Vaccine Skepticism

In recent years, a considerable amount of misinformation surrounding vaccinations has proliferated, significantly affecting parental perceptions of vaccine safety. At the forefront of this unsettling trend is a notable lack of trust in health authorities, exacerbated by the presence of individuals with vaccine skepticism in prominent public health positions. This climate of doubt prompts parents to reassess the necessity and safety of vaccines for their children.

    The Role of Online Misinformation

The internet has become a breeding ground for the spread of false information regarding vaccines. Social media platforms and blogs often promote unfounded claims about vaccination risks, which can sow seeds of doubt among well-meaning parents. This misinformation can create a sense of uncertainty about established medical practices, challenging the scientific consensus on vaccination safety and efficacy.

    KFF Survey Findings

A recent survey conducted by the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) in April 2025 sheds light on the implications of this misinformation. The study found a strong correlation between parental beliefs in vaccine-related myths and the likelihood of delaying or skipping childhood vaccinations. Specifically, parents who subscribed to at least one false claim regarding the measles vaccine were significantly more inclined to deviate from vaccination schedules for their children.

    Statistical Insights

    • Parents who firmly believed that all three of the common misconceptions about the measles vaccine were false reported that only 11% had delayed or omitted vaccinations for their children.
    • Conversely, an alarming 24% of parents who thought at least one of the misinformation claims was probably true admitted to missing recommended vaccines.

These statistics highlight a critical link between misinformation acceptance and poorer vaccination practices, underlining the potential risks posed by prevalent myths regarding vaccine safety.

    Health Consequences of Vaccine Hesitancy

The ramifications of declining vaccination rates are dire. The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that over 100,000 individuals, predominantly children under five, lost their lives to measles in recent years. This staggering statistic is considered "unacceptable" given the availability of effective and affordable vaccines.

The Importance of the Measles Vaccine

The measles vaccine has historically played a pivotal role in global public health, credited with saving more lives than any other vaccination over the last half-century. WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has emphasized the critical nature of vaccination: “Measles vaccine has saved more lives than any other vaccine in the past 50 years.” This statement reflects the vaccine’s foundational role in protecting high-risk populations and underscores the urgency of combating misinformation.

    Strategies to Combat Misinformation

Addressing the issue of vaccine misinformation requires a concerted effort from healthcare professionals, educators, and policymakers. Initiatives to enhance public awareness and improve access to reliable information about vaccines can play a crucial role in reversing the trend of vaccine hesitancy.

    Educational Campaigns

Effective educational campaigns aimed at clarifying vaccine misconceptions can help bridge the knowledge gap. These campaigns should focus on:

    • Evidence-based facts about vaccine safety.
    • The benefits of vaccination for both individual health and community immunity.
    • Real-life testimonials from healthcare providers and families who have benefited from vaccinations.

    Engaging Trusted Voices

Engaging trusted community figures, such as pediatricians, teachers, and local leaders, can enhance the credibility of vaccine messaging. When respected individuals advocate for vaccinations and share factual information, they can counteract the pervasive influence of misinformation.

    The Role of Healthcare Providers

Healthcare providers are on the frontline in the fight against vaccine misinformation. They possess the educational background and the authority to address parental concerns, disseminate factual information, and encourage adherence to vaccination schedules. By fostering open dialogues with parents and addressing their fears with empathy and understanding, healthcare professionals can help dispel myths and build trust in vaccines.

    Conclusion

By being proactive in addressing vaccine misinformation, we can safeguard public health and ensure that future generations benefit from the life-saving power of vaccinations. With comprehensive education initiatives and the support of healthcare professionals, we can help parents make informed choices for their children’s health.

  • Apple Will Let Parents Share Kids’ Age And Update Ratings

Apple Will Let Parents Share Kids’ Age And Update Ratings

The conversation surrounding the digital safety of children has intensified over the past few years. For instance, Australia is considering a ban on social media access for individuals under 16. However, implementing such regulations presents numerous challenges.

Research conducted by the nation’s online safety authority indicates that many children can easily circumvent age restrictions. What about enforcing identity verification through nationally-validated documents? Experts warn that this approach could significantly risk privacy, especially given the track records of many social media platforms.

In an effort to navigate these complexities, Apple is expected to introduce new measures later this year. They have released a white paper outlining enhancements to their parental control features, which aim to help guardians shield their children from inappropriate apps and content.

Account usage details for a child.
    Apple

The new system will allow parents to share a general age range of their children with different apps, ensuring that those apps provide only age-appropriate content. This means parents won’t need to disclose the exact age of their children through identification methods like ID cards or birth certificates.

According to Apple, this new feature will allow parents to share their Child Accounts’ age range with app developers. The information will be transmitted via an API, and once this system is operational, apps will automatically curate content suitable for the indicated age.

Apple describes the Declared Age Range API as a “carefully designed, data-minimizing, privacy-preserving tool.” Notably, app developers will only gain access to this information when parents decide to share it explicitly. Furthermore, parents have the option to stop sharing the age range information at any time.

Additionally, Apple is simplifying the setup process for Child Accounts. If parents struggle to configure the controls for age-appropriate content, Apple will apply the default protective settings automatically, ensuring that children do not encounter unsafe material on their devices.

Creating a Child Account for a family member on an iPhone.
    Apple

Moreover, Apple will facilitate an easier process for parents to adjust their children’s age within the parental control dashboard. If they initially set up the account incorrectly, they will be prompted to connect with their Family group to correct it.

Once the corrections are made, the account will revert to the appropriate content settings. Apple will also encourage developers to provide more detailed information about their apps, such as situations where they may include sensitive material and what type of content can be accessed through them.

Once these details are collected, Apple will classify apps with more specificity regarding their age ratings. Rather than just two tiers, the App Store will categorize apps into three distinct groups: 13+, 16+, and 18+, based on the intended audience.

  • AI App Helps Parents Detect Infant Jaundice At Home

AI App Helps Parents Detect Infant Jaundice At Home

In recent years, artificial intelligence has significantly influenced the medical field, driving advancements from improved cancer screening to accelerated drug discovery. Breakthroughs in this area are emerging at an extraordinary rate.

Now, an innovative app powered by AI is poised to make a difference for parents facing concerns about infant jaundice, a condition that is relatively common. This application, created by Singapore General Hospital (SGH), SingHealth Polyclinics (SHP), and the national HealthTech agency Synapxe, enables parents to screen their newborns for neonatal jaundice (NNJ) effectively.

The app uses a pioneering machine learning model tailored for Asian skin tones, delivering impressive accuracy. According to SingHealth Polyclinics, the app showed identical results compared to traditional NNJ testing methods, achieving a remarkable sensitivity rate of 100%.

Named BiliSG, this app was developed after two years of clinical research involving validated studies with infants under 21 days old. It utilizes machine learning to evaluate skin coloration in areas such as the chest, forehead, and abdomen. Mobile app used to identify signs of jaundice in infants.

The name BiliSG is derived from bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during the breakdown of red blood cells, which is also a vital part of bile generated by the liver. In cases of jaundice, elevated bilirubin levels can cause a yellowish hue to the skin due to its seepage into skin tissues. This app simplifies the process for parents to check for signs of neonatal jaundice in the comfort of their homes, reducing the need for frequent hospital visits.

NNJ affects around 60% of infants, with even higher rates observed in premature babies. While the body usually regulates bilirubin levels, failure to do so can lead to severe complications, such as permanent brain damage, developmental delays, and motor disabilities.

A sticker that prepares the skin for jaundice assessment.
    SGH

According to medical researchers involved in this initiative, “This app will revolutionize how we safeguard infants’ brain health by allowing parents to monitor jaundice closely in a convenient setting, supported by telemedicine consultations with their family doctors.”

To use the app, parents simply take a photo of the skin area marked by a specially designed color calibration sticker. This sticker minimizes reflections, adjusts for variations in light intensity, and accounts for temperature fluctuations. The development team is currently working to refine the app through ongoing validation efforts.

Initial tests were conducted using an iPhone 12, but the research group is eager to broaden compatibility to include more smartphone models, such as those running on Android. This expansion, however, presents challenges related to camera specifications (like resolution) and different lighting conditions that must be meticulously addressed.

The project’s team is focused on making the BiliSG app more robust and reliable for everyday use beyond clinical environments, with an emphasis on accessibility for parents and caregivers who may lack experience with medical devices.
