Top Strategies for Completing and Solving in Mafia: The Old Country

Dinari are the currency used in Mafia: The Old Country. Instead of genuine Italian lire from that time, they represent illegal items like watches, cigarettes, and alcohol that you can trade through the Torrisi family’s network to get what you need.

Since it takes a while to earn dinari and the prices for big purchases—like cars—are high, it can be slow to unlock everything. If you want to collect as many dinari as possible, here are some helpful tips.

    Keep The Fortunato Bead Equipped
Fortunato is one of the first charms you’ll get. Unless you need a different ability, it’s best to keep it equipped all the time. This charm increases the amount of dinari you get from looting. Since earning money mainly comes from looting in the game, wearing Fortunato helps you maximize your earnings with each encounter.

You can find Fortunato in Chapter Two, near the entrance to the Torrisi tent before the horse race. Look for a man in a top hat standing on a wooden platform—it’s behind him.

    Loot Each Room Carefully
Because there are no wandering enemies or side quests, the only way to earn dinari is through story missions. Make sure to check every corner and thoroughly search every location when you arrive in a new area. Do this before moving on to the next area to ensure you don’t miss any loot.

Lockboxes and safes often contain a decent amount of dinari. Also, always check the bodies of enemies you defeat once it’s safe. If you’re sneaking around, Enzo will automatically loot any bodies you hide in crates or hiding spots, saving time and reducing the chance of being caught.

Sell Lots of Trinacria at Once
Trinacria are Roman artifacts found throughout the valley. You can exchange them with Pasquale’s mother, Benedetta, for 100 dinari each. While the amount isn’t huge and they may be far out of your way to collect, selling many at once can give you a significant boost in funds. Saving up Trinacria and cashing them in together leads to a bigger payday, giving you more money to spend at Pasquale’s store.

A Dinaru Saved Is a Dinaru Earned
You can quickly spend your dinari on various upgrades, so it’s wise to prioritize important purchases. It’s best to save your money for what will truly benefit you—like a faster car, a stronger horse, or better charms—since they provide real help. Avoid splurging on cosmetic items or outfits unless you’ve already covered your essentials. With careful saving, you’ll have enough to make the meaningful upgrades that enhance your gameplay.

  • How to Find and Open All Safes in Mafia: The Old Country Using Completing and Solving

How to Find and Open All Safes in Mafia: The Old Country Using Completing and Solving

In Mafia: The Old Country, some safes need to be unlocked to progress with the main story, while others are hidden and require extra effort to locate. All safes contain money and valuable items waiting for you.

To get rich and upgrade your weapons quickly, aim to find as many safes as possible, as they are filled with shiny Dinari. Below is a guide on where to find all safes and their combinations.

How to Find and Open All Safes in Mafia: The Old Country

There are five safes in the game: two in Chapter Three and three in Chapter Six. The combination for each safe is usually written on a small piece of paper nearby. Sometimes, you can also listen for the clicking sound of the dial passing over the correct number, which adds a bit of a challenge if you’re trying to crack the safe manually.

Tip: You can earn the “Salvatore’s Apprentice” achievement or trophy by opening safes without ever reading the combination notes.

To open a safe, approach it and interact to start the cracking process. Listen carefully for the clicks to find the right number, or check the note if you have it. When you have the correct three numbers, press the act button to input each one. Once all three are correct, the safe will open, revealing its contents.

    All Chapter Three Safe Combinations

Safe Location Note Location Combination Reward
San Celeste, Lemon Farm On a nearby table with a bowl of lemons 10-20-30 200 Dinari
Porto Almaro, Impound Yard On the desk by the window 21-10-08 200 Dinari

    All Chapter Six Safe Combinations

Safe Location Note Location Combination Reward
San Celeste, Bracanti’s Place In the office next door 00-01-02 300 Dinari
San Celeste, Marino’s Place On the desk to the left; a note nearby mentions last month’s code (April) 28-34-12 Printing Plates Relocation Papers
San Celeste, D’Amico’s Place In the relocation papers found at Marino’s place 02-19-62 Printing Plates

The process involves approaching each safe, listening for the dial’s clicks, or reading the notes for the correct combination. Once the safe pops open, enjoy the loot and continue your progress in the game.

  • Locating the Hidden Thieves’ Lair in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Locating the Hidden Thieves’ Lair in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

The Guild is one of the fascinating factions you will encounter while playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, particularly after reaching Kuttenberg. Henry is intrigued and eager to join, but the process isn’t straightforward. The leader, Chenyek, will put you through a series of questions to determine whether you can be part of the group.

Once you’re accepted, be prepared to take on numerous quests for both Chenyek and the Guild members. These quests are typically engaging and can yield valuable rewards for Henry. One notable quest available through the Guild is the Thieves’ Code quest.

How To Start The Thieves’ Code Quest

After completing your first guild mission, A Feast for the Poor, head to Chenyek’s usual spot at the Hole in the Wall Tavern, located just southeast of Kuttenberg.

Chenyek is often found seated near the skeleton. Speak with him and ask if he has more tasks for you.

He will confirm and instruct you to investigate some unusual symbols at specific times throughout the city. This marks the beginning of the Thieves’ Code quest.

How To Find The Old Thieves’ Hideout

As usual, Knuckles, ever the curious one, wants to uncover this mystery himself, so go ahead and talk to him. You’ll find him at the tavern entrance.

At this stage, your dialogue choices don’t affect the outcome, since a significant decision comes later in the quest.

Knuckles will direct you to Hynek’s house, located just north of the city. Proceed to the house and enter. Inside, you’ll discover Hynek’s body, with Hog standing beside it.

You can talk to him to find out what transpired, but more importantly, be sure to loot Hynek’s corpse to obtain a letter from him.

After retrieving the letter, check your inventory and read it. It contains a riddle meant to lead you to the old thieves’ hideout.

Don’t forget to talk to Hog again after deciphering the riddle.

To locate the old thieves’ hideout, head to the Fountain, which is situated just west of the city. A trader’s shop will be found in front of it.

Look for a path behind the shop; you can either sneak through or circle around the building. You’ll find a locked door that leads to the basement.

Use a lockpick to open it, then head downstairs. Turn left to find another door.

Inside this room, you should see a chest. Use a lockpick to access it and retrieve the Parchment With Drawings. Read it from your inventory.

How To Complete The Thieves’ Code Quest

Having gathered information about the symbols, here is your critical choice: you can either inform Chenyek about what you found or let Knuckles copy the symbols.

    Your choice matters:

    • If you aim to continue the Guild questline, then choose Chenyek.
    • However, opting for Knuckles may cut you off from further quests in this storyline.

Regardless of your decision, you will have finished the Thieves’ Code quest.

  • Retro Tech Trend Focuses on Old iPhone Cameras

Retro Tech Trend Focuses on Old iPhone Cameras

In South Korea, there’s a growing trend that’s seeing a spike in interest for older Apple iPhone models, particularly due to the unique qualities of their cameras. This fascination doesn’t just encompass “vintage” smartphone cameras but also includes outdated, discontinued digital cameras, as reported by The Korea Times, based on findings from the Hankook Ilbo newspaper.

This phenomenon, known as “youngtro” (a blend of “young” and “retro”), is predominantly embraced by Millennials and Generation Z. The appeal is further amplified by popular musicians and public figures who are hopping on the bandwagon, sharing images on social media that prominently feature these classic devices alongside their subjects.

But what drives someone to choose an original iPhone SE for photography when the new iPhone 16 series boasts an advanced camera? One student shared, “I find the design of older iPhones from the Steve Jobs era more nostalgic and visually appealing compared to contemporary models,” while another noted, “Photos taken with old iPhones exhibit more distinctive colors than those captured with newer versions.”

Interestingly, many individuals immersed in this trend carry both a modern smartphone and an older device or vintage digital camera for their photography needs. They often utilize these cameras in conjunction with retro filters, mirroring the very aesthetic that propelled Instagram to fame long ago. This obsession with nostalgia doesn’t stop at smartphone photography; wired headphones have also gained traction, fueled by celebrity endorsements in mid-2024. Additionally, there’s been a resurgence in the popularity of instant cameras, leading to recent studies indicating that the instant camera market is thriving, despite the dominance of smartphones.

This renewed interest has led to a notable increase in prices for these once-overlooked devices. Reports suggest that the cost of popular older digital cameras has surged threefold over the last few years, with increasing numbers of people seeking to sell outdated iPhone models like the iPhone 6S for potential profit. This resurgence of nostalgia isn’t entirely new—think of the renewed interest in vinyl records and retro gaming consoles—but it’s intriguing to observe how relatively recent smartphone models are now joining this nostalgic wave.

With Apple gearing up to unveil a new version of the iPhone SE, set to feature a 48MP camera to replace the old 12-megapixel rear camera, the original iPhone SE from 2022 may soon become a highly sought-after collectible, particularly in South Korea.
