How to Complete the Scholar Remembrance Quest in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Every character you can play in Elden Ring: Nightreign has their own unique skills, moves, relics, and a dedicated side quest called the Remembrance Quest. This questline is divided into different chapters, which are written down in your Journal. To progress, you need to interact with various NPCs and complete specific personal objectives.

With the expansion, The Forsaken Hollows, two new characters are introduced, each with their own quests. In this guide, we focus on the Scholar’s Remembrance Quest, explaining each chapter and what actions you need to take in each one.

How to Complete Scholar’s Side Quest

You can start the Scholar’s Remembrance Quest as soon as you unlock the character. To do this, you must defeat Gladius, the first Nightlord available. Our guide offers tips for this fight.

    Chapter 1 and Chapter 2

The initial chapters involve completing expeditions with the Scholar. It doesn’t matter if you succeed or die early; what matters is that you play until you receive Memory Fragments at the Roundtable Hold.

Note: The Memory Fragment notification appears in the lower right corner once you return to the hub. If you miss it, you can check your Journal and switch between pages to see the latest active chapter.

    Chapter 3

Start the remembrance from your Journal. Visit the chapel at the Roundtable Hold, where you’ll find The Undertaker.

On entering, turn right and examine the desk with papers. Reading the “Tear” piece of paper will give you a personal objective. Next, begin the Balancers or Dreglord expeditions alone or with friends.

You don’t need to win the fights—just go to the marked spot on your map, indicated by an orange flag. The location will change with each expedition, so always check your map.

Tip: It’s best to clear a camp, level up, and go on your first day. If you have allies, it’s better, but you can also avoid enemies and rush to the objective.

In my case, I needed to go to a dungeon on the eastern side of the map. Inside, find a room with a ladder and a hole in the floor. Going down reveals a desk with books and an item called Vassal’s Journal.

Complete the expedition (you can die during the first boss fight if playing solo and want to speed through), then return to the chapel. You’ll find Undertaker licking a purple substance on the wall. Interact with her, try to leave, then interact with the NPC at the door. Afterward, talk to Undertaker again, and she will thank you. Ask her for a favor to finish this chapter.

    Chapter 4

Simply continue playing with the Scholar until you earn another Memory Fragment.

    Chapter 5

Open your Journal, select the fifth chapter, and start the Remembrance. Talk to the Small Jar, who will teleport you to the northern keep—a castle in the DLC map. Reach the top floor to find a room with a large icy rock. Climb the rock and the platform above, then find a hole in the wall.

Tip: You’re level 8, so enemies are manageable, but you can skip creatures and avoid fights until necessary.

Proceed through the hole, interact with a door, then go back. You’ll face a few enemies—prepare accordingly. Here’s a guide on the Scholar build and relics to help. Once finished, return to the locked door, now openable, and interact with the desk and the character trapped in crystal in the same room. Finish the Remembrance to earn the Cleansing Tear relic.

Image:[Insert the provided image showing the castle and lab interior]

    Chapter 6 and Chapter 7

Again, participate in expeditions with the Scholar until Memory Fragments unlock the final chapter.

    Chapter 8

Access your Journal, start the last Remembrance, and speak with Undertaker in the chapel. Interact with the mirror in the garb room and examine your desk.

Your final personal objective will be revealed: defeat Traitorous Straighess in the Dreglord expedition.

Image:[Insert the provided image of the final scene]

Complete the quest by defeating the Traitorous Straighess and collecting your final relic.

Rewards for Completing the Scholar’s Side Quest

After finishing the last chapter, you receive the “My Dear Successor” note relic, which boosts your skills used in allies’ actions, along with the Scholar’s Remembrance skin and the Night of the Dregs relic. If you haven’t defeated the Dreglord before, this relic is great for attacks and spells involving rot.

  • How to Play as the Scholar in Elden Ring: Nightreign and Solving Secrets

How to Play as the Scholar in Elden Ring: Nightreign and Solving Secrets

If you thought Elden Ring: Nightreign was missing a support character, there’s good news. The Forsaken Hollows added two new characters, including Scholar. He introduces a new playstyle focused not on dealing massive damage, but on supporting allies and applying debuffs to enemies.

Understanding how to use Analyze and the best times to activate his Ultimate Art can be challenging. Since Scholar is a Nightfarer who scales with Arcane, it might take a moment to get used to. Don’t worry – here are the top tips for building a Scholar in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

    ### Scholar’s Skill Overview
Scholar’s Passive is called Bagcraft. It allows you to carry more items and level them up. You still have four slots in your pouch, but now you can hold four of the same item (others can only carry two). As you use items, their efficiency improves, and sometimes they gain extra effects.

For example, a level 2 Starlight Shard restores more FP, while a level 3 one increases your maximum FP. The highest level for all items is level 3. You’ll get notifications when an item levels up, often accompanied by a color mark on the item to show its level.

You might not use many items with other classes, but with Scholar, a different approach is encouraged. Using relics that give you starting items can help level them faster during gameplay.

    ### Analyze Skill
Analyze is a key ability. When activated, the screen changes, and circles appear around enemies and allies. Analyzing enemies (their circles fill with red) allows you to apply buffs to yourself (press the right trigger) or debuffs to enemies (left trigger).

Visual cues determine what buffs or debuffs are applied based on how much of the circle you scan:
    – Less than half filled: grants you stamina boost or reduces enemy attack.
    – Half or more filled: provides a bigger stamina boost and stronger attack reduction on enemies.
    – Fully filled: enemies also get a defense debuff, and you can perform a parry within a two-second window by simply receiving their attack. Keep in mind, you can’t apply Analyze effects to both allies and enemies simultaneously; you must choose which to target. While using Analyze, you’re vulnerable—dodging is recommended if attacked.

You can also make Analyze applicable to allies if you have specific relics. The effects depend on the level of scanning:
    – Partial circles grant minor buffs/debuffs.
    – Full circles cause stronger effects, including a chance to parry enemy attacks.

    ### Ultimate Art: Communion – Taboo Knowledge
Scholar’s Ultimate Art is Communion: Taboo Knowledge. It functions as an area-of-effect (AoE) spell that marks all nearby allies and enemies. Allies will heal each time they heal themselves, while enemies take linked damage—hitting one damages all linked enemies by 20%. This can be highly effective against groups or boss fights with multiple enemies.

While using this UA, Scholar is invulnerable for a few seconds. Use it close to allies and enemies to maximize its benefits.

    —

    ### The Best Weapons for Scholar
Scholar’s stats show Arcane as his only S attribute. His preferred weapons are thrusting swords, such as the Eleonora Poleblade. Not many weapons scale with Arcane, but boosting your status effects is key; weapons that cause Blood Loss, Frostbite, Scarlet Rot, or Poison become more powerful.

Remember, your focus isn’t on dealing huge damage but supporting teammates. If you want to optimize your build, consider weapons like:
    – Antspur Rapier (for Blood Loss)
    – Frozen Needle (for Frostbite)
    – Eleonora Poleblade (for Blood Loss)

Using these weapons in combination with Scholar’s passive effects can enhance your effectiveness in battle.

    ### Relics Suitable for Scholar
Completing Scholar’s Remembrance Quest is important to receive relics with special buffs. After finishing Chapter 5, you’ll gain Cleansing Tear, a relic that boosts damage negation, increases your Art gauge when defeating enemies, and deals continuous damage to trapped enemies during your Ultimate Art.

When the quest is completed, you also get Note “My Dear Successor”, a relic that reduces your skill cooldowns and allows you to buff allies after analyzing them. Using this relic on analyzed allies increases their damage output.

For your third relic slot, options include:
    – Augur’s relic: Heals allies when you use flasks and shares effects with nearby allies.
    – The Grand Drizzly Scene relic: A cheaper alternative if the full relic isn’t acquired yet, especially if you haven’t defeated the related boss.

Additional relics focus on starting items like Poison or Blood Loss boosts. For example, completing the Sentiest Pest expedition grants the Nightlord’s relic, which provides Poison at the start of the game.

    —

    ### Tips for Playing as Scholar
During early gameplay, be cautious. Scholar is primarily a support character. Instead of rushing to destroy everything, focus on assisting allies and controlling the battle. While you won’t be able to attack during Analyze, dodging is still possible and vital.

Re-activating Analyze quickly can preserve some progress on enemy analysis, but this effect depletes fast unless you have relics that slow its drain. Save your Ultimate Art for tough enemies or bosses with powerful, unpredictable moves. Its invulnerability makes it ideal for avoiding damage and status effects.

Be strategic in timing your abilities for maximum support and survivability.

  • How to Completing Undertaker’s Remembrance & Solving in Elden Ring: Nightreign

How to Completing Undertaker’s Remembrance & Solving in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Elden Ring: Nightreign has a new expansion called The Forsaken Hollows, adding fresh content to the game. It features a new map, new bosses from across the franchise, and two new hero options to play. One of the heroes is the Undertaker, a character built around Faith and Strength, aimed at maximizing damage. To upgrade her, you should complete her Remembrance quest, which grants special relics with Undertaker-specific bonuses. Here’s what you need to do to finish the quest and obtain her relics.

    Undertaker Remembrance Walkthrough

    Chapters 1–2:
Start by collecting Memory Fragments for the Undertaker by defeating Nightlords. It doesn’t matter which Nightlord you choose, but targeting easier ones like Gaping Jaw, Tricephalos, or Augur can speed things up. I only needed to kill one Nightlord to unlock Chapter 3, so check your journal after each fight to make sure you’re making progress on Undertaker’s Remembrance.

    Chapter 3:
To begin this chapter, first talk to the Iron Menial. He will see you as a threat and try to kill you, but he has low health, so quickly defeat him. As he dies, he will call for other Nightfarers to attack you. Prepare for a challenge where you face a series of enemies, starting with the Executioner, who waits near the Small Jar Bazaar. Though these enemies don’t have much health, they can still pack a punch. Focus on staggering the Executioner to open him up for attacks since most of his moves leave him vulnerable, except his parry.

After defeating him, head to the Round Table, where Revenant and Guardian are waiting. If your Ultimate Art is ready, aim at Revenant first for a swift kill, then take on Guardian. You can even kill both with one Ultimate Attack if you time it right.

Next, return to the Small Jar Bazaar to find Wylder. Defeat him as he is a straightforward opponent, then proceed into the church. Inside, you’ll see Raider with Ironeye lurking in the corner. For this fight, focus on Ironeye first; his poison and range can be tricky. Take him out quickly. Raider is slow, but watch out for his jump attack. After defeating both, destroy the wall item and embrace the Night. Undertaker will start licking the wall (yes, really) until she hears footsteps nearby. Find the sound of footsteps to the northwest of the Roundtable, speak with the scholar standing by a statue, and complete this chapter to earn your first relic, the Leather Monocle Case.

    Chapter 4:
Again, defeat Nightlords and gather Memory Fragments. Usually, defeating just one Nightlord is enough. Check your journal after each fight to make sure the step is complete; this part only counts when you’re playing as the Undertaker.

    Chapter 5:
Speak with Dutchess at the Roundtable and exhaust her dialogue. Then, go to the small chapel that unlocked at the start of this DLC and pray at the altar. After that, talk to the Iron Menial, who will inform you about a new Shifting Earth event.

Jump into a match of either Balancers or Dreglord and head north toward the marked area. It’s recommended to do this solo, as most players won’t want to travel north to finish this quest portion. Remember, even though the description might mention other maps, this step needs to be completed on the Great Hollow map, not Limveld.

Start by reaching the castle with the red circle banner. Inside, look at the main gate, then go left around the castle exterior, following the cliffs to a jump point. Use this to reach the second floor of the castle, enter the room with a chained-up monster hanging overhead, and carefully climb onto it to reach the rafters. Be cautious—falling will force you to start outside and go around again, so take your time.

Once on the rafters, find a small door with a blue light and enter. Inside, you’ll see Scholar pinned to a large crystal. Interact to get an item and a brief dialogue. Finish the run (success isn’t required), then return to the Roundtable. Talk to the Scholar in the chapel, exhaust his dialogue, and this will conclude the Remembrance.

    Chapter 6:
No more Memory Fragments are needed. For the final part, you need to defeat the Night Aspect and do a specific action afterward. Load up a run as Undertaker and fight the boss. This boss is weak to Holy, which suits Undertaker’s Faith weapons. After killing the Night Aspect, make sure to clear some items from your consumables before being taken to the final area.

You will receive an item called the Dismembered Finger. Drop it on the corpse nearby to trigger the last step of the Remembrance, signaled when Undertaker says, “This will do… I am sure.” Interact with the corpse afterward to complete the quest and unlock the final relic, the Glass Necklace, and optionally, her Remembrance skin.

  • Completing Augur’s Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Completing Augur’s Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring: Nightreign

Among the Everdark Sovereigns in Elden Ring Nightreign, Augur is probably the easiest to defeat—once you understand her trick. She relies on one main move and needs some preparation before facing her. You should study her patterns rather than rushing in blindly.

With our guidance, you’ll gain insights into her weaknesses. For example, banishing her and ending her reign involves using the Storm Ruler, a weapon infused with the power of the Nightlord, which Maris herself supplied. It seems as if Augur wants you to beat her—so who are we to refuse?

How To Prepare For Everdark Sovereign: Augur

Insert physical or visual info about her appearance and environment here

    Weak Against: Lightning
Strong Against: Fire, Magic, Holy, Strike
Immune To: Madness, Sleep, Bleed, Poison
    Damage Types: Standard, Magic
    Total HP:

    • Solo: 29,450
    • Duo: 58,900
    • Full Party: 88,260

Unlike other bosses, you don’t need to choose special areas or weapons. All you get is a Legendary version of your starting weapon with a unique Ash of War: Storm Ruler. This is your main tool, especially in her second phase, as it’s the only way to deal significant damage.

Note: This Ash of War is essential for breaking her armor and damaging her in her second phase.

    Recommended Preparations

Since no specific weapons are needed, focus on boosting your survivability:

    • Increase Flask regeneration.
    • Maximize stamina and stamina regeneration.
    • Raise resistance to ailments to 57 or higher.

    Bring along these items:

    • 2 Warming Stones
    • Boiled Crab
    • An extra Flask of your preferred type

The Warming Stone is particularly useful because you’ll spend a lot of time stationary, charging your Storm Ruler.

    Recommended Characters

Any character class works because her weapon scales with your stats. That said, characters with high mobility and stamina excel here. Think of those who can dodge and reposition quickly.

    Augur’s New Moveset

Insert visual of her attack animations and patterns

Her new move set is straightforward, making her fights more about endurance than skill. Once you get used to her quick attacks and minimal tricks, defeating her becomes a matter of whittling down her large health pool.

    Tips for the Fight

    • Wave Breaker: Augur spins and gathers blue energy, then releases a wave. Dodge by sprinting sideways or chain-dodging through it; be ready to heal if you’re caught.
    • Night’s Divide: Augur flies up, channels a blue laser, and fires it in front then upwards. You should sprint left or right and dodge at the last second to escape the blue field.
    • Star Barrage: She spirals into the air and rains star-shaped orbs, which explode after landing. Stay locked-on for precise movement, then dodge or sprint out of their range.
    • Charge: She charges forward in a wider spiral. Dodge forward through her and stay close.
    • Night’s Crown: She spins and surrounds herself with purple orbs firing beams. Focus on destroying these orbs with Storm Ruler or dodge away as the beams fire.

    Key Mechanics

    • Waves are dangerous because they sneak up quickly; sprint around their sides to avoid damage.
    • Star Barrage can target multiple players. Turn off auto-lock to better see where the orbs are flying and react accordingly.
    • She cannot be critted due to her size, so prioritize using Storm Ruler’s powered-up attacks.

    Strategy for Victory

Once she enters her second phase, aim Storm Ruler at her purple orbs when she reaches about 70% health. Destroying or dispelling these orbs:

    1. Stops her magic beams.
    2. Lowers her threat level.
    3. Causes her to stagger temporarily, leaving her vulnerable.

When her health drops to around 40%, she’ll perform a Wave Break attack multiple times—avoid these waves at all costs. Staying under her is the riskiest move, so keep your distance and stay attentive.

    Rewards

Defeating her grants access to a new Everdark Sovereign relic:

    • Dark Night of the Fathom:
      • Increases max HP
      • Restores HP consistently during combat
      • Slowly heals you and allies when HP is low

By mastering her attack patterns, especially Storm Ruler usage, the fight boils down to patience, endurance, and strategic damage application.

  • Completing the Sentient Pest Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing the Sentient Pest Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring Nightreign

The formidable Sentient Pest returns in Elden Ring Nightreign, now appearing in a chilling new form. If taking on two foes wasn’t challenging enough, players can now face three adversaries at once. The twist? These enemies can resurrect themselves, ensuring that a tough battle is always on the horizon.

Fortunately, compared to earlier encounters in the Everdark Sovereign series, the Sentient Pest is notably easier in terms of both power and strategy. This fight doesn’t hinge entirely on skill, dodging complex attacks, or intricate builds; it primarily tests your stamina and tactical thinking.

How to Prepare for the Everdark Sovereign: Sentient Pest

While facing the Everdark Sentient Pest, having a game plan makes a world of difference. The unique aspect of this encounter is:

When one enemy is defeated, Animus temporarily inhabits their body, transforming them into a stronger version.

Understanding this mechanic is crucial for success:

    • If you’re struggling with the scorpion, Faurtis, focus on taking down the moth, Gnoster.
    • If Gnoster is your bane, then prioritize Faurtis instead.

Craft your strategy around the boss you find most challenging. If you need to refresh your memory on their move sets, check our official guide on the standard Sentient Pest.

    Key Damage Types:

Sentient Pest is particularly vulnerable to Fire damage, making fire-infused weapons a priority for this battle.

    Recommended Characters

Selecting the right characters plays a significant role in combat outcomes:

    • For melee fighters, Wylder and Raider are excellent picks.
    • For those who prefer ranged attacks, Ironeye and Recluse are ideal.

However, Duchess stands out as a versatile choice for any playstyle.

Wylder benefits from his Flame Strike ability, which deals fire damage and stuns enemies. Raider, with his strength-based weapons, can break through Faurtis’s defenses while using Totem Stela to buffer against Gnoster’s onslaught.

On the other hand, Ironeye and Recluse can quickly get to Animus and Gnoster, ending the fight rapidly, but they can be tricky to maneuver given their dodging limitations.

Duchess excels in this battle, easily evading attacks while having the ability to revive teammates and boost damage output. Her blend of magic and weapon skills makes her a prime asset against both bosses.

    Sentient Pest’s New Moveset

The Sentient Pest brings a fresh array of attacks to the battlefield. It’s essential to familiarize yourself with these moves:

    • Rising Phoenix: Animus rises from defeated foes, healing them momentarily.
    • Possession: Animus takes over a fallen ally’s body, restoring their health and increasing their power.
    • Red Pillars of Light: A massive attack indicated by red lights, causing widespread damage.

Bosses, once incapacitated, will remain down until they’re freed from Animus’s grasp. The fight extends until Animus’s health bar is exhausted; once he’s defeated, all other bosses on the field fall as well.

How to Defeat Everdark Sovereign: Sentient Pest

    1. Focus on Fire, Piercing, and Strike damage, as they are effective against the Sentient Pest.
    2. Plan Your Attacks: Strike during Animus’s possession moments when he is vulnerable and slows down.
    3. Distract and Damage: Have one teammate distract Faurtis while the others focus on Gnoster or Animus.
    4. Timing is Key: Aim to deal heavy damage during animus’s ultimate moments when the bosses are incapacitated.

Eventually, with patience and precise coordination, you will overcome the Sentient Pest. Upon your first victory, you’ll receive 25 Sovereign Sigils as a reward, along with the opportunity to purchase a new relic that enhances your capabilities.

  • Completing Darkdrift Knight: Solving the Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring

Completing Darkdrift Knight: Solving the Everdark Sovereign in Elden Ring

At the end of the Gaping Jaw, players were introduced to the Darkdrift Knight in Elden Ring Nightreign as the second official Everdark Sovereign. With just a week to challenge him, gamers worldwide are gearing up to take down this formidable centaur. Unfortunately, much like the Gaping Jaw’s Everdark form, Everdark Fulghor is a serious adversary.

This tank-like threat can unleash what feels like nuclear attacks from his divine bow at random. The battle is explosive, with players often finding themselves pushed to the edges of the arena, flames raging behind them. To survive the Darkdrift Knight and earn his one-of-a-kind prize, having a solid strategy is essential.

How to Gear Up for the Everdark Sovereign: Darkdrift Knight

Before you step into this challenging battle, here are some important preparations:

    1. Familiarize Yourself with Phase Two: Review strategies for facing the Darkdrift Knight from our comprehensive guide.
    2. Build Your Relics: Aim to have at least two, ideally three, grand relics in your inventory.
    3. Acquire Lightning Damage: Plan how to incorporate Lightning damage, whether through relics or by identifying key locations to visit.
    4. Prioritize Damage Negation: Focus on mitigating Holy and Physical damage as part of your attack strategy.
    5. Utilize Sovereign Sigils: Consider converting the map to Shifting Earth: Noklateo for an advantageous team revival.

This encounter is tough, and while you can tackle it solo, we highly recommend formulating a team of three.

For casters like Recluse and Revenant, the most reliable ways to acquire seals with Lightning damage are usually found in the basements of derelict cathedrals.

    Recommended Characters

While many recommendations stand for the Darkdrift Knight, the increase in health and damage, along with the knight’s mobility, necessitate some revised strategies. Fragile characters may find this battle daunting without adept gameplay, as they can easily be taken down in just a few hits. However, these characters excel in dealing damage.

Consequently, an ideal team configuration for this fight would consist of:

    • Two frontline fighters
    • One ranged support

Spellcasters should be judicious in choosing their spells, as Fulghor’s constant movement can make targeting difficult. Opt for spells that track or cover a large area.

    Recommended Combatants Overview

    • Recluse and Revenant: These two range supports excel at burning through the boss’s HP. At least one is crucial for ending the fight faster. However, both struggle with stamina for dodging and taking hits. Revenant benefits from her summons and revival Art, but managing FP during a lengthy battle can be challenging without enough starlight shards. Recluse has a slight edge, capable of using Lightning for powerful Magic Cocktails and boasting better HP.

    • Wylder: Possibly the best choice for this fight, Wylder can dish out damage and sustain hits. He’s great for applying Fire to enhance Recluse’s cocktails and can effectively maneuver around Fulghor.

    • Guardian and Executor: These two fulfill pivotal tank roles. Guardian absorbs hits well but is more defensive, while Executor offers better damage dealt with his parry abilities. Use Guardian for teams focused on defense and Executor for a more aggressive approach.

Characters like Ironeye and Duchess may struggle. Duchess excels at dodging and early status effects but falters in later phases, becoming more of a support role for reviving teammates. Ironeye can stagger foes and inflict Poison at range but also has issues with endurance and damage output.

Everdark Sovereign: Darkdrift Knight’s Updated Move Set

    • Dramatic Introduction: This move launches Fulghor into the arena, creating a shockwave, and should be approached cautiously by sidestepping or holding back.

    • Phase Transition: At about 60-70% health, Fulghor rises into the air, revealing an opening for ranged attacks before unleashing Gold From Above arrows.

    • Gold From Above: Fulghor shoots arrows that rain down and can quickly add up damage. Stay nimble, as dodging sideways or back can help get around these projectiles.

    • Fulghor’s Assault: This combination attack can hit multiple characters, requiring quick backstepping and strategic dodging.

    • Tactical Arrow Nuke: Possibly his most dangerous move, evade by sprinting underneath him to reach safety on the other side.

Tips for Defeating Everdark Sovereign: Darkdrift Knight

    • Weaknesses: Lightning damage is particularly effective against him, while he shows strong resistance to Madness.

    • Resource Management: Save items like Boiled Crab or Boiled Prawn for the more challenging third phase rather than wasting them early on.

    • Attack Timing: Take advantage of post-attack openings after his biggest moves, such as Rushing Nightglow or Tactical Arrow Nuke.

    • General Advice:
      • Prioritize survival over aggressive revives; focus on the boss if team members go down.
      • Avoid rushing; patience is key.
      • Use Frostbite to speed up damage without risking dangerous encounters.

As a reward for defeating Darkdrift Knight, you will earn 25 Sovereign Sigils and unlock a unique relic from the Collector Signboard vendor which boosts maximum stamina, increases attack power for particular affinity attacks, and enhances your Art gauge’s recharge rate when defeating enemies.

  • Completing the Night Idol Challenge in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing the Night Idol Challenge in Elden Ring Nightreign

Instead of having to create a character setup from the ground up, Elden Ring Nightreign offers a variety of pre-made Nightfarers for you to control. Each character comes with unique passive abilities, skills, and preferred weapons, allowing players to adopt different playstyles.

Like many RPGs and roguelikes, you won’t start with everything available. The Revenant character is locked behind a challenging boss fight with the Night Idol, which you have to tackle solo. Defeating the Night Idol is a significant challenge, but we’ve got some tips to help. First, let’s explore how to initiate the Night Idol fight.

How to Begin the Night Idol Fight

You can unlock the Night Idol fight after you purchase the Besmirched Idol from the Small Jar Bazaar in Roundtable Hold. This item becomes available once you unlock the Duchess Nightfarer. After buying the item, enter a new instance of Roundtable Hold.

Upon arrival, go to the east wing and turn left. You’ll spot a phantom gazing at one of the wall paintings. Interacting with this phantom will kick off the Night Idol fight with your chosen Nightfarer. Be prepared to handle multiple enemies simultaneously, so characters with ranged skills or high durability are recommended. Good picks include Recluse, Ironeye, Wylder, and Guardian.

How to Defeat the Night Idol

You will start at Level 6 with your Nightfarer’s initial weapon. There are no drops or runes to utilize in this battle.

You’ll find yourself just outside the Night Idol’s arena, which mirrors the Revenant’s layout. This fight includes her entire set of shadowy allies. To complete the encounter, you must defeat the Night Idol without dying. If you do fall, you’ll have to restart from the beginning. If you’re using Wylder, his cheat death ability won’t reset the fight, but you can only use it once.

Controlling the adds is crucial during the Revenant fight. You’ll face three summons:

    • Helen: A fast-moving entity wielding a rapier. They have low health but deal significant damage in close range.
    • Frederick: A pumpkin-headed phantom with slow but heavy-hitting attacks. Circle around them for safe opportunities.
    • Sebastian: A large, stationary skeleton that acts as a turret. Use cover from nearby pillars to avoid its beam attack.

Helen is arguably the most formidable summon, as their speed complicates isolating the Revenant during close combat. Frederick’s attacks are easier to dodge, while Sebastian’s stillness allows you to evade many of its strikes as long as you stay near the arena’s pillars. Avoid fighting in open spaces.

Revenant will aggressively pursue you and attack with her claw weapon. If you can maneuver her around the adjacent pillars, you can evade most of her attacks. The summons are the primary concern, not the Revenant herself.

Elden Ring Nightreign Night Idol Slain

We found it effective to eliminate Helen first, then draw Frederick away from the Revenant, and finally attack the Revenant with the small opening created. If Frederick approaches, back off and lure them away; Sebastian shouldn’t be too problematic as long as you avoid open combat. They’re quite resilient, so if you can, don’t bother killing them.

Keep in mind that the fight concludes once the Revenant is defeated, not her minions. You should constantly apply pressure to her during the match, only dealing with her minions when absolutely necessary. Taking down Helen is advisable since she’s more aggressive, but the other two phantoms are less threatening. Remember to utilize your character’s abilities, stay near the pillars, and with some practice, you’ll emerge victorious. Defeating the Night Idol will unlock the Revenant Nightfarer.

  • Completing Recluse’s Remembrance Skin in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing Recluse’s Remembrance Skin in Elden Ring Nightreign

In the world of Elden Ring Nightreign, each Nightfarer has a unique remembrance quest. These quests serve as personal narratives that reward players with special relics, chalices, and skins. Although not as cryptic as some of the typical quests from FromSoftware, tackling all the remembrance tasks can still be challenging.

Recluse’s quest is one of the more straightforward remembrance tasks in Nightreign, but it can still be a bit tricky. In this guide, we will detail how to progress through all seven chapters of Recluse’s remembrance quest, from initiating it to collecting the rewards along the way. First, let’s explore how to unlock the remembrance quest in Roundtable Hold.

How to Begin Recluse’s Remembrance Quest

Like other Nightfarers, you can initiate Recluse’s remembrance quest using the journal located in Roundtable Hold. After defeating your first Nightlord while playing as Recluse, you’ll be able to engage with the journal and kick off her questline. This action will transport you to a different version of Roundtable Hold, beginning with Chapter 1.

    Chapters 1-3

In the first chapter, you simply need to defeat a Nightlord while using Recluse. Any quest should suffice; for instance, the Tricephalos fight counts. Successfully completing this task will unlock the second chapter of her journal. Return to Roundtable Hold and examine the journal to begin her first remembrance step.

Chapter 2 will kick off the remembrance section in Roundtable Hold. Head to the Iron Menial in the west wing of Roundtable Hold. He’ll request that you demonstrate your commitment by defeating a night-tainted enemy and bringing back a Night Shard as proof. This step requires you to complete a quest as Recluse. You’ll receive a Night Shard as part of the rewards after the match.

Make your way back to Roundtable Hold and present the shard to the Iron Menial as proof of your victory. He’ll be near the Small Jar Bazaar when you return. Giving him the shard will reward you with Recluse’s Chalice for completing the quest. Take the shard back from him, then finish the remembrance event. If Chapter 4 isn’t unlocked yet, defeat another Nightlord before checking the journal again.

    Chapters 4-5

Elden Ring Nightreign Waiting Room Location

Recluse’s fourth chapter will initiate another remembrance section in Roundtable Hold. To start this remembrance, approach the Site of Grace table and read the note. It will guide you to the beds located in the Waiting Room of Roundtable Hold. Go inside and examine the bed with the pool of blue blood. Completing this will grant you the Vestige of Night relic for Recluse.

    Chapters 6-7

The sixth chapter will have you searching for a mysterious figure in Roundtable Hold. Head to the Sparring Grounds in the northeast corner of the area, where you’ll find the Iron Menial next to the tent that allows you to adjust your character’s stats. Upon conversing with him, you’ll sense that something is amiss. Attack the Iron Menial, and it will transform into a replica of Recluse. Speak with her until you see the text: “From somewhere, the sound of a heavy door opening rings out.“

Next, you need to locate the real Iron Menial. He’s behind a previously locked door in the western wing of Roundtable Hold. From the Small Jar Bazaar, go down the stairs to your right and make a left U-turn. The lock will now be removed. Descend to the lower floor, where you should find the Iron Menial unconscious near a coffin. Speak to him to finish this remembrance section, unlocking the Bone-Like Stone relic.

    Chapter 7

Elden Ring Nightreign Nightlord Boss Night Aspect

Now that you’ve gathered Recluse’s relics and chalice, the last task is to complete the final expedition. You will unlock the battle with the Night Lord after defeating four Nightlord bosses. Upon defeating the final boss, you’ll be teleported back to Roundtable Hold in a remembrance sequence. Go to the beds in the waiting room and interact with the crying baby to conclude the quest chain. As a final reward, you’ll unlock Recluse’s remembrance skin.

  • Completing Outfits in Elden Ring: Nightreign Solutions

With any FromSoftware title, players know they’re in for a challenge, intricate lore, and a combat system offering diverse build options. Yet, the real endgame focus is on fashion. You can find yourself spending more time perfecting your look than optimizing your loadout.

In Elden Ring Nightreign, the ability to customize individual armor pieces has been taken out, but each character still comes with unique outfits. There’s a good selection, although not all of them are accessible right away. Below is a guide on finding and unlocking every outfit.

    How to Unlock Every Outfit

In Nightreign, each character starts with a default outfit that’s already quite stylish. Still, it’s great to switch things up, although changing outfits isn’t as easy as you’d hope. You can’t change outfits from the very beginning, even if you have Murk to buy them.

To start customizing, you need to unlock the Mirror first. This process is simple in theory but can be more challenging than it appears. To unlock the Mirror, you must defeat two Nightlords. Since you’ll need to defeat Gladius first to access all the others, you can then pick from any of the available six Nightlords. For ease, we suggest targeting Gaping Jaw, Sentient Pest, or Augur as they tend to be easier.

Once the Mirror is unlocked, the Dawn and Darkness outfits will be available for purchase. There are also three additional outfits for each Nightfarer you can unlock. The first is the Remembrance outfit, which becomes available after completing all the Remembrances for that character. The last two outfits are inspired by iconic characters from Dark Souls and can only be obtained by defeating the final boss of the game. You’ll still need to buy them after that.

    Unlocking Outfits for Each Nightfarer

Currently, each Nightfarer has access to six outfits, and this number may grow in future updates or DLCs. Here’s how to unlock each outfit. Aside from the Dark Souls-themed outfits, each requires specific criteria to be met for each Nightfarer.

His Dark Souls outfits refer to characters like Kirk from Dark Souls 1 and Yuria of Londor from Dark Souls 3.

    Duchess

Duchess’ outfits maintain a similar aesthetic, primarily featuring color variations and sometimes elaborate hats.

Unlocking all these outfits, especially the ones with high Murk costs, will require considerable time investment. With potential new outfits on the horizon, you might find yourself playing for quite a while.

  • Completing Elden Ring Nightreign: Solving Phantom Mysteries

Completing Elden Ring Nightreign: Solving Phantom Mysteries

Phantoms play a significant role in FromSoftware’s titles, making appearances in every Souls game. They allow players to observe the actions of others and check their bloodstains to learn how and when they died. In Elden Ring, this feature continued, but how does it work in Elden Ring Nightreign?

This game, being a multiplayer roguelike, has introduced some notable changes to these mechanics. Fortunately, phantoms are still included, but they serve different purposes than before. Red and white phantoms have new roles in this setting.

Are There Phantoms in Elden Ring Nightreign?

The short answer is yes, phantoms are still present in the game. While red and white phantoms return, their functionality has changed. In the original Elden Ring, players could see and not interact with these phantoms. However, in Nightreign, white phantoms still share similarities with their predecessors. Yet, due to the randomized nature of the environment and shifting terrain, encountering white phantoms is less frequent. Red phantoms continue to represent the deaths of other players, but you can’t see how they died anymore. They’re also more beneficial than just a warning sign of danger.

What Each Phantom Does in Elden Ring Nightreign

In comparison to earlier Souls games, the role of phantoms in this title has evolved. Their purpose remains similar, yet their influence on gameplay is distinct.

    • White Phantoms

White phantoms appear in two primary forms: in the grassy area at the entrance to the Roundtable Hold and as live phantoms in Limveld.

The static white phantoms at the Roundtable Hold showcase the gear a character utilized during a victorious encounter against a Nightlord. They don’t serve any other purpose beyond symbolizing victory.

The rare white phantoms in Limveld operate like their original counterparts. They display live actions from other players, and interacting with them will fully charge your Arts Gauge. Be sure to pass through them when you spot one!

    • Red Phantoms

Given the game’s level of challenge, red phantoms are more common. They represent the deaths of other Nightfarers, but unlike before, they don’t replay the event.

These phantoms will appear as static red figures in the location of their demise. By interacting with them, you’ll receive all the gear they carried at the time of death, which can lead to acquiring terrific equipment.

Additionally, each red phantom carries a unique “Grief” stat that adds bonuses to their gear. For instance, Wylder’s Grief enhances both Strength and Dexterity. This bonus can benefit any Nightfarer who picks up the weapon, not just the original owner.

All things considered, phantoms have an even more significant impact on gameplay now, even if they are less frequent than in earlier versions.

  • Completing Ironeye’s Remembrance Outfit in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing Ironeye’s Remembrance Outfit in Elden Ring Nightreign

Elden Ring Nightreign takes a distinct approach compared to the original Elden Ring game. While the original was celebrated for its vast world and the freedom it offered for exploration, Nightreign shifts the focus significantly towards enhancing the combat experience. Without a rich world to explore, how does this new setting captivate players?

The answer lies in its unique, pre-designed characters. Each of these Nightfarers offers a different playstyle, each tied to a story about Remembrances that allows them to revisit forgotten moments from their past. One of the characters, Ironeye, arrives at the Roundtable Hold with a specific mission, some aspects of which have yet to unfold.

    What Is the Journal?

Though there are many Nightfarers to choose from, the Roundtable can only accommodate so many stories. This is where the Journal comes in—a book situated near the garden area of the Roundtable Hold. The Journal features entries that relate to each character, revealing their narratives with every new entry.

The Journal also serves as the access point for Remembrances, activated through the latest entry once they’re unlocked. Typically, each character has about eight Journal entries, though this number varies. For example, Executor has seven entries, while the Guardian boasts ten.

A helpful tip: You can tell when most character’s Journal entries are finished by a sketch appearing on the final entry.

Fortunately, you can check the Journal anytime while in the Roundtable Hold, no matter which character you’re playing. If you need to refresh your memory about one character’s journey, just take a look at the Journal.

    How to Unlock Memory Fragments

Memory Fragments in Nightreign are a somewhat abstract idea. They aren’t items you can put in your inventory to unlock Journal entries or Remembrances. Instead, Memory Fragments unlock mostly at random and automatically advance the next Journal entry or Remembrance for the character you were using when you earned them.

Finding these Memory Fragments can be tricky. While some methods for acquiring them are more likely, none are guaranteed. For instance, certain characters can obtain Memory Fragments by performing unique actions—like Executor managing several deflections. However, this is quite random and often unclear.

Instead, it’s better to focus on more reliable methods. Generally, defeating Nightlords with a specific character will yield Memory Fragments, which also translates into more Remembrances. Each new Remembrance often requires greater progress than the last. For instance, you can usually unlock a character’s first Remembrance just by participating in an expedition, regardless of your success in the match. However, later Remembrances often necessitate defeating a Nightlord at the end of an expedition.

Sometimes, obtaining a Memory Fragment will only unlock a new Journal entry and not a Remembrance. Other times, you might receive a single Memory Fragment that grants multiple Journal entries and Remembrances. More often, though, you’ll unlock a single Remembrance with each Memory Fragment.

    Ironeye’s Remembrances

Most characters feature three Remembrances, but there are exceptions. For instance, the Guardian has four Remembrances, while Ironeye has only two, technically speaking. Ironeye has two active Remembrances that must be unlocked, plus a personal goal inferred from reading his Journal entries. Here’s what you need to know about his Remembrances and how to achieve his unique ending.

    Remembrance #1

Ironeye’s first Remembrance sends him to Limveld in search of a letter held by a traitor from the Fellowship he belongs to. Here’s how to complete this task:

    1. Speak to the Priestess.
    2. Ask her all possible questions.
    3. Defeat the Condemned in Limveld.
    4. Return to the Priestess.

The traitor appears as a Condemned who resembles Ironeye and wields a dagger that causes significant Blood Loss, along with the Swarm of Flies Incantation for ranged attacks. They can also mark you like the real Ironeye. Keeping your distance is key to avoiding excessive Blood Loss. Manual aiming can help if you position yourself higher up.

Don’t hesitate to wait until the second day to confront the traitor, as they are quite formidable, but make sure you’re at least level three before engaging. After defeating the traitor, you’ll receive the Traitor’s Letter. Bring it back to the Priestess to complete the Remembrance and earn the Broken Sealing Wax Relic and Ironeye’s Chalice for Relic Rites.

    Remembrance #2

In his second and final Remembrance, Ironeye must eliminate another traitor while uncovering dark truths about himself. Completing it involves:

    1. Speaking to the Priestess in the crypt.
    2. Eliminating the traitor.
    3. Traveling to Limveld to obtain an Edge of Order, which requires defeating the Darkdrift Knight.
    4. Taking out the traitor again.

A crucial detail: You must be in the Realm of Remembrance when undertaking the Darkdrift Knight mission. You can’t do this with a different character and beating a Nightlord solo can be a tough challenge. As you cannot matchmake while in a Remembrance, consider teaming up with friends for assistance.

The Darkdrift Knight, named Fulghor, is vulnerable to Lightning. Equip a weapon with this attribute before the fight. Generally, stay back and let your allies absorb most of the damage, as he’s a challenging opponent.

    Remembrance #3

Ironeye’s last Remembrance works differently than the others because it’s not yet realized. Remembrances imply memories of past events, and since Ironeye’s third Remembrance hasn’t occurred yet, he needs to finish his mission—defeating the Night Aspect.

To complete this final Remembrance, you have to take down the Night Aspect. Given that this doesn’t happen in the Realm of Remembrance, you can freely engage in matchmaking. As the game’s final boss, trying to defeat it solo might be tough, so gather a reliable team.

While not strictly necessary, of course, consider equipping Ironeye’s Edge of Order Relic during the expedition, as it grants his bow a Holy attribute, to which the Night Aspect is susceptible. Upon defeating Heolstor, you’ll find yourself in a ruined version of the Roundtable Hold. An emaciated body awaits you there. Instead of placing the Nightlord’s Rune within the figure, choose to ‘Clench Dagger’, confirming your choice in the next prompt.

This action will lead Ironeye to eliminate the figure, thereby completing his mission. After the credits roll, you’ll receive Ironeye’s Remembrance outfit, marking the conclusion of his journey.

Note: Since Ironeye’s ending differs from the game’s default conclusion, you won’t earn a trophy or achievement for finishing the game this way.

  • Completing More Gestures in Elden Ring Nightreign: A Guide to Solving

Elden Ring Nightreign marks a significant shift from the original game it’s based on. This roguelike title features the longest journey back to a boss in FromSoftware’s history. The focus is heavily on combat and boss encounters, moving away from the exploration and narrative elements that defined earlier iterations.

That said, it still keeps many of the beloved features that made the series famous. While they may be a bit more obscure than in the original, gestures and Prattling Pates make a comeback in Nightreign. Here’s how to access them and acquire more.

    How to Use Gestures

In the original Elden Ring, there was a specific menu just for gestures that you could access from the main menu, allowing you to bind up to six for quick use. However, with Nightreign altering much of the user interface and equipment functionality, the process for using gestures has changed.

Fortunately, it might even be simpler now. When you open the main menu, just press Triangle/Y to bring up the full gestures menu, which now also includes any Prattling Pates you have. While you can’t assign them to shortcuts anymore, accessing them initially is quicker than before.

    How to Unlock More Gestures

You might wonder about unlocking additional gestures. In Nightreign, all gestures are obtained through purchase, unlike the original Elden Ring, where many were unlocked by action. So, while you won’t have to complete tricky tasks to get new gestures, you will need to pay for them with Murk at the Small Jar Bazaar.

Yes, the Small Jar Bazaar is your only source for acquiring more gestures and Prattling Pates in Nightreign. The good news is that once you buy them, they’re yours to keep, allowing you to use them freely without worrying about losing them. Even in this challenging roguelike, at least you can hold onto your gestures.

Tip: Gestures can also impact gameplay when combined with the Night of the Demon Relic, as the Crossed Legs gesture can quickly build up Madness.

  • Completing Revenant’s Remembrance Outfit in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing Revenant’s Remembrance Outfit in Elden Ring Nightreign

In Elden Ring Nightreign, you step into the shoes of Nightfarers, distinct characters with their own abilities, ultimate skills, and backstories. These narratives unfold in the Journal located at the Roundtable Hold, where players can collect Memory Fragments to explore them in greater detail.

There’s more than just reading your character’s diary entries; you can also activate Remembrances. These are interactive gameplay segments that take you back to pivotal moments in each Nightfarer’s history. Expect a variety of tasks as you embark on Expeditions to unique, themed areas, all of which lead to new gear you can customize at the Mirror.

    What Is The Journal?

You’ll find the Journal at the Roundtable Hold right after completing the tutorial. It’s a large book sitting atop a cluttered desk to the left of the Lost Table of Grace. This tome holds the memories of every Nightfarer, even those you’re not currently playing.

If you want to access the Journal quickly, you can fast travel to it on the map while you’re at the Roundtable Hold, immediately opening it.

    How To Unlock Memory Fragments

To progress with a Nightfarer’s questline, you must unlock new pages in the Journal, which means collecting Memory Fragments. Unlike items like Relics that you carry in your inventory, Memory Fragments are gathered automatically as you play.

The game doesn’t clearly explain how to obtain these fragments, and their acquisition often feels random. However, a reliable method is to defeat Nightlords using that specific character. For example, to further the Revenant’s quest, you’ll need to complete Expeditions while playing as her.

    Revenant’s Remembrances

The Revenant has three Remembrances to unlock, and since she is a secret character, her storyline can be a bit more challenging to navigate. Nevertheless, it’s worth pursuing for the unique Relics that enhance her powers.

    Remembrance #1

During her first objective, the Revenant must defeat a Nightlord. Here’s what you need to do:

    • Speak to the Duchess.
    • Talk to the Guardian.
    • Win against the Tricephalos or Darkdrift Knight in Expeditions.
    • Return to the Guardian with the Blade of Night fragment.
    • Complete the Remembrance.

After finishing this Remembrance, you’ll receive the Small Makeup Brush, which boosts Rune acquisition for you and nearby allies, enhancing the Revenant’s abilities when fighting alongside summonable spirits.

    Remembrance #2

In her second Remembrance, the narrative deepens as you enter a haunting, Bloodborne-inspired manor. Follow these steps:

    • Converse with the Duchess.
    • Tell her you’re "not afraid of the Night."
    • Speak to the Recluse.
    • Sit beside her on the bench.
    • Walk into the open room upon waking.
    • Move towards the Revenant.
    • Defeat a wave of enemies called the ‘Corrosion’.
    • Interact with the doll.
    • Conclude the Remembrance.

Once you return to the Roundtable Hold, you’ll gain the Revenant’s Chalice, enabling you to use three types of Relics: blue, green, and a choice tier.

    Remembrance #3

The final Remembrance revisits the essence of the Revenant’s story, showing the events of "that stormy night." It’s a poignant conclusion worth experiencing for the cutscene alone. Here’s what to do:

    • Speak to the Recluse.
    • Sit next to her on the bench.
    • Upon awakening, head back to the large room.
    • Overcome the Grafted Scion in a boss fight.
    • Watch the cutscene, then awaken on the bench beside the Recluse.
    • Engage with her and accept the option "Bury the Nightlord."

This touching finale rewards you with the Revenant’s distinct Remembrance skin and the Old Portrait Relic. When equipped, this relic grants the following benefits:

    • [Revenant] Sacrifice your own HP to fully heal allies while activating Art.
    • [Revenant] Cause a ghostflame explosion when using Ultimate Art.
    • Earning kills fills up the Art gauge faster.
  • Completing Challenges: Solving Random Invasion Bosses in Elden Ring

Completing Challenges: Solving Random Invasion Bosses in Elden Ring

Elden Ring Nightreign marks a significant shift from the original Elden Ring, introducing various ways to make shorter matches more engaging and memorable. The game accomplishes this by altering enemy placements, adjusting the areas you explore during a run, and randomizing the weapons and bosses you encounter.

Despite these random elements, some predictability remains. For example, you can expect that enemies in a camp will vary each time you play. However, you can’t anticipate when a formidable foe like the Fell Omen might unexpectedly confront you and disrupt your progress. Various Nightlords can invade your runs, so it’s essential to know how to prepare for these encounters.

    What Are Raids?

Each run in Nightreign feels unique, but there are some consistent elements to expect. If Misbegotten have overrun an encampment, a Leonine Misbegotten will always be stationed at the top of the hill. You can always count on finding a mini-boss beneath a castle’s tunnels, even if the specific enemy varies from run to run. Certain aspects remain consistent despite the randomness.

Raids, on the other hand, are completely unpredictable. They can strike at any moment, no matter the time of day or where you are in your run. They might happen just minutes into your journey or even alongside other bosses. They can catch you off-guard in a significant location or in a remote area. This unpredictability makes responding to them both exhilarating and daunting.

When a Raid occurs, typically only one will happen during a run, although that’s not always guaranteed. It’s wise to stay prepared, as they can appear at any time and are fully capable of ending your run.

Every Raid and How to Beat It

There are four types of Raids you can encounter. Three come from lesser Nightlords, while one involves an invasion by the Fell Omen. Each functions differently, so here’s how to prepare and ultimately defeat them.

    Fell Omen Raid

The dreaded Morgott, known here as the Fell Omen, can invade at any moment. Once he does, he will relentlessly pursue your party. You cannot escape him. He will chase you until either you or your party falls. Over time, he might give up his chase, especially if he has marked all members of the party, but it’s better to confront him than to run.

The Fell Omen can also be fought as a boss at the end of Nights one and two, but this battle differs from the Fell Omen Raid.

In combat, the Fell Omen typically locks onto one player, indicated by a red target circle. He will primarily chase that player, giving others a chance to strike while he’s focused. Be ready for him to switch targets, though.

With a team effort, you can bring him down. He is prone to staggering and can bleed, so a full assault with heavy weapons can keep him immobilized. Stay brave—he’s still just flesh and blood.

    Augur Raid

Augur, a giant aquatic Nightlord, floats around the battlefield like a creature of the sea. However, in Raid form, he appears in a weaker version, but still demands your full attention.

This Raid is signaled by a message about large bubbles forming above you. These bubbles will have a blue-purple color and will descend slowly to trap anything inside. To escape, you must engage with Augur directly inside the bubbles.

Once you enter the battlefield, you can’t exit until the fight is over, so be ready for a challenge.

Upon entering, the screen will go black for a few seconds as you transition to a new arena. During this fight, Augur relies on a Spinning Dash attack and Wave Splashes, which are manageable to dodge. Expect him to stay closer to the ground than in his Nightlord form. Still, bring a ranged weapon and spells, especially those with a Lightning element.

    Sentient Pest Raid

The Sentient Pest Raid is one of the more challenging encounters—not due to the boss’s strength, but because locating them can be quite tricky. The Raid begins with a message announcing a swarm of locusts descending, resulting in a darkened sky. These locusts can siphon your levels and cause massive explosions on the ground.

If you’re caught in these explosions, you’ll lose a level and the Runes associated with it. Unlike typical deaths that cost you one level, these locusts can strip away multiple levels at once. So, how do you defeat this swarm?

You need to find their master, but unlike other Raids, this one isn’t marked on your map. To locate them, follow the locusts after an explosion. They will fly back to their master’s position in a predictable manner.

Once you reach them, the outline of Sentient Pest will become visible, revealing the moth section of the Nightlord—not the scorpion. The moth doesn’t fight back, so while you must be cautious of the locust explosions, defeating it will restore any lost Runes and levels.

    Equilibrious Beast Raid

The Equilibrious Beast offering multiple deals in Elden Ring Nightreign.

The Equilibrious Beast Raid offers a different experience. Instead of defeating a boss, this encounter revolves around making deals. When they appear, the entire party will be cursed, reducing max HP by approximately 40%. This curse remains until you break it.

You can lift the curse in two ways, with Equilibrious Beast marked on your map by a red circle. The first option, which you should avoid if possible, is to defeat them. Attacking the Equilibrious Beast will summon Libra, who is just as formidable as their Nightlord form. While defeating them dispels the curse, it’s difficult to overpower them with reduced HP.

The second—and preferable option—is to make a deal. Libra will ask for Runes to break the curse. The required amount can vary greatly, ranging from 15,000 Runes up to 35,000. So, once you’re cursed, hold off spending Runes, ensuring you have enough by the time you reach Libra to lift the curse.

After paying to lift the curse, your HP will be restored. You can talk to Libra again for additional deals that are more balanced, allowing for upgrades without significant drawbacks.

    The Reward from Every Raid

Each successful Raid brings unique rewards. Here’s what you can gain from each:

    • Fell Omen – There are two rewards: if you fail, you’ll lose a level and receive the Unhealed Wounded Carved By The Night, which increases all damage taken. If you succeed, you’ll receive Traces of Grace-Given Lord, enhancing your attack power with every new Site of Grace discovered.
    • Augur – Defeating Augur grants the Unifying Fate perk, enabling your flasks to restore FP in addition to HP.
    • Sentient Pest – Conquering Sentient Pest rewards you with Integration of Intelligence, providing random large Runes when defeating enemies. It also restores any Runes lost from level reductions.
    • Equilibrious Beast – After paying to remove the curse, you’ll acquire Demon’s Plating, enhancing attack power based on your Runes. You can also engage Libra again for additional, beneficial deals without penalties.

Currently, these four Raids are all available in the game, but it’s possible more will be introduced in the future. Now, you’re better equipped to manage the ones that exist.

  • Completing Sorcerer’s Rise Towers in Elden Ring Nightreign

Completing Sorcerer’s Rise Towers in Elden Ring Nightreign

While many areas in Elden Ring Nightreign are pretty straightforward, the Sorcerer’s Rises stand out with their challenging puzzles instead of numerous enemies. For newcomers, navigating these towers can be quite tricky, as the solutions often aren’t immediately clear—especially when you’re in a hurry.

If you can crack the puzzles within these Sorcerer’s Rises, you’ll earn rewards like powerful weapons and talismans that are perfect for spellcasters. If you’re choosing to play as either Recluse or Revenant, this is definitely a place to prioritize. To get in, however, you’ll need to know how to access them first.

How to Access the Sorcerer’s Rise

When you approach a tower, you might encounter a sealed door at the entrance. Some have a seal on the upper floor, especially if you try to enter without solving any required tasks first.

Keep in mind that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution to breaking these seals.

Many players have asked this: if you’ve managed to unlock the puzzle door but are stuck on how to navigate the tower’s interior, just enter the tower. Inside, you’ll see a stack of crystals. You can jump on these crystals and parkour your way up to the higher levels of the tower.

How to Access Towers with a First Floor Seal

Recluse finds a crest sigil on the side of the Sorcerer's Rise in Elden Ring Nightreign.

Before you hunt for a way to open a sealed door, examine the door itself. If it’s closed at the ground level, the solution will typically fall into one of the categories below:

    Illusory Door

If the door appears plain, it’s likely an illusory door. Just walk through it without any further effort.

    Gargoyle

If you spot a gargoyle statue with a book nearby, hit it to open the door.

    On the Wall

Look above the door and on the left side of the building for a circular sigil on the wall. Strike it to activate. This sigil could also be hidden behind a wooden piece; destroy that to uncover it.

    Pond

Check inside the pond for a sigil on the bottom. You’ll need to run or jump over it to destroy it.

    Trees

On the left, you might find rustling trees or a cluster of dead ones. You can dash through the rustling trees, while the dead ones need to be struck.

    Moving Tree Trunk

Keep an eye out for a moving tree trunk around the towers. You’ll have to take it down to free the sigil’s hold on the door.

There’s also one Mage’s Tower that requires a different approach: The Spirit Spring Rise. If you see a sealed door but nearby spirit springs for jumping, you don’t need to solve any puzzles. Simply use the Spirit Spring to leap to the top.

How to Access Towers with a Second Floor Seal

Recluse discovers a sealed door to the Sorcerer's Rise inside on the second floor in Elden Ring Nightreign.

If you find yourself at a Sorcerer’s Rise with an open door upon arrival, it probably has a seal on the second floor. The methods to unlock these second-floor seals are different from those at ground level and can be a bit trickier. The key is that you’ll find the solution inside the tower.

    Statue

When looking at the crystals from the front entrance, focus on the back right corner. If there’s no statue there, the wall is likely illusory. Hit it to reveal the hidden sigil.

    Unlit Candle

If you spot a statue in the back right corner, look behind you to the left. If there’s an unlit candle on the wall, strike it, and then destroy the sigil that appears when the candle lights.

    Second Floor Back Wall

If nothing above applies, turn around and see if there’s a sigil on the back wall you can hit.

Also, check out the Ruined Rises. These are similar to regular Sorcerer’s Rises but are covered in crystals. You’ll typically find a sealed door on the upper floor, which will require finding several sigils, possibly using a mix of methods from those discussed above, with some variations—such as the sigil for the pond solution being located on the wall of the Rise above the pond.

How to Unlock Duchess and Revenant Classes in Elden Ring: Nightreign Guide

The multiplayer variant, Elden Ring: Nightreign, significantly modifies the original game’s structure. Among the most notable changes are the revamped world and the emphasis on cooperative play. You will no longer craft your own characters; instead, you will select from various predefined classes, each with distinct abilities, stats, and starting equipment. Initially, six classes are accessible, while the Duchess and Revenant classes remain locked. These two offer particularly unique gameplay options in Elden Ring: Nightreign, so unlocking them should be a top priority for optimal team dynamics. Here’s a guide to unlocking both classes.

    FromSoftware

    Unlocking the Duchess Class

To access the Duchess class in Elden Ring: Nightreign, follow a series of steps that are mostly straightforward. Here’s how to go about it:

Step 1: Defeat the first Nightlord boss during the Tricephalos Expedition, which is the default mission you’ll undertake first.

Step 2: Upon defeating the boss, you will receive an Old Pocketwatch item. Interestingly, some players have claimed they received it even after failing to defeat the boss, suggesting you may only need to reach the encounter.

Step 3: Return to the Roundtable Hold and show the Old Pocketwatch to the Priestess to trigger a cutscene.

Step 4: The Priestess will unveil her identity as the Duchess and unlock the class in the character selection menu.

    Unlocking the Revenant Class

Once the Duchess class is unlocked, you can move on to unlocking the Revenant class. This step is relatively simple but can easily be overlooked:

Step 1: Head to the Small Jar Bazaar located in the Roundtable Hold.

Step 2: Purchase the Besmirched Frame for 1,500 Murk from the item list.

Step 3: Move to the east wing and seek out a phantom that will appear.

Step 4: Interact with the phantom to be teleported back to the tutorial area, where you will face the Revenant along with three summons.

Step 5: Defeat the Revenant to unlock the class. If you’re unsuccessful, you can keep retrying until you succeed.
