  • Rayman Returns In Ubisoft’s New NFT Game The Monkey’s Paw Curls

Rayman Returns In Ubisoft’s New NFT Game The Monkey’s Paw Curls

Since his introduction in 1995, Rayman has become a cherished video game icon, featuring in 45 titles to date. However, he hasn’t made a significant appearance in a main series game since his cameo in Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope. When Ubisoft announced that Rayman would be featured in the upcoming game Captain Laserhawk: The Game, fans were excited. Unfortunately, that enthusiasm faded when it became clear that Captain Laserhawk is a new blockchain game centered around NFTs.

Captain Laserhawk does not follow the traditional format of Rayman games. In fact, Rayman has minimal involvement in the actual gameplay. The title is a top-down multiplayer shooter, but players must first acquire a Niji Warrior NFT to participate. Each player is required to purchase this NFT directly from Ubisoft, with a total of only 10,000 available and a restriction of two per account. For those looking for a touch of Rayman, a profile image can be obtained for 750 virtual coins.

This game draws inspiration from the Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix television series, which itself is based on the Blood Dragon DLC for Far Cry 3. To add to the disappointment, Rayman is not a playable character. Instead, he mainly serves as the announcer during deathmatches, leaving fans hoping for more.

If you’re unfamiliar with Captain Laserhawk, you’re not alone. Ubisoft launched the game with minimal marketing, making it difficult to find extensive information beyond a few posts on social media. Currently, the game is available for early access on PC.

While it’s nice to see a nod to Rayman, it’s rather disappointing that the iconic character has been relegated to a minor role in a blockchain title. Perhaps Ubisoft should reconsider their approach and take a cue from Regina George: NFTs should not be the focus.

  • Donald Trump Is Selling His Mugshots as NFTs

Donald Trump Is Selling His Mugshots as NFTs

Donald Trump, the former US President, has introduced a distinctive offer for his supporters by announcing the sale of segments from the suit he wore during his mugshot, captured when he was booked on racketeering charges in Georgia.

As part of a wider sale involving non-fungible token (NFT) “digital trading cards” priced at $99 each, this offering provides a unique twist. Buyers acquiring 47 of these digital cards will not only obtain the digital versions but also receive a physical card, housing a genuine piece of the suit worn by Trump in his notorious mugshot.

In a video shared on Truth Social, the social media platform aligned with Trump, the former president enthusiastically endorsed the initiative, expressing, “It was a fantastic suit, trust me, a truly remarkable suit.”

This decision comes after the triumph of Trump’s earlier foray into the realm of NFTs when he introduced his “TRUMP DIGITAL TRADING CARDS” in late 2022. This time, portions of the suit are being cut up, and participants will obtain a piece of it.”

In a post accompanying the video announcement, Trump stated, “Because of the tremendous enthusiasm and success of my earlier TRUMP DIGITAL TRADING CARDS, we’re doing it again – The MugShot Edition, available RIGHT NOW.”

He further enhanced the offer by saying, “Purchase 47 cards, and not only will you receive a fragment of the suit I wore for the ‘Mugshot Photo,’ but you’ll also secure an invitation to a Gala Dinner with me at Mar-a-Lago!”

For $4,653, the package encompasses the previously mentioned dinner with Donald Trump at his Mar-a-Lago club and residence in Palm Beach, Florida. The dinner occasion, expected to draw enthusiastic Trump supporters, introduces an experiential dimension to the NFT sale.

Trump’s mugshot was captured in August at Fulton County Jail in Georgia, marking him as the first former US president to undergo this procedure. He confronts 13 felony charges linked to allegations of scheming to reverse his defeat in the 2020 election in Georgia.

Even after pleading not guilty and denouncing the charges as a politically motivated witch hunt, Trump has capitalized on the mugshot by previously introducing a range of merchandise. This merchandise includes T-shirts and mugs displaying the slogan “NEVER SURRENDER.”

  • Weird NFTs: Why Everyone is Talking About Them

Nowadays, everyone’s talking about weird Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), but what are these strange new tokens, and why do people keep referring to them as weird? Not only does this mysterious phrase intrigue me, but it also makes me question how people even know about the existence of these NFTs in the first place! To answer that question, I will be writing this blog to explain what exactly NFTs are and how they are changing the world we live in.

    What are NFTs?

    Non-fungible token.

I am not sure if that clarifies the situation.

Sorry, I was mistaken. The term “non-fungible” refers to something that is unique and cannot be replaced by another item. An example of fungibility is a bitcoin – trade one for another and you will get the same value.

Trading cards that are one-of-a-kind are not fungible. You would have something completely different if you traded it for another card. A Squirtle was exchanged for a 1909 T206 Honus Wagner, which StadiumTalk describes as “the Mona Lisa of baseball cards.” (I will take their word for it.)

    How are they made?

NFTs are made through the use of blockchain technology, which provides a secure and transparent way to manage digital assets. In order to make an NFT, you need to have a platform like Ethereum. You would also need to write your smart contract (to keep track of who owns what) and create an initial supply for your token. There are many ways that you can buy or sell these tokens on the market – often in exchanges or peer-to-peer transactions.

    Who creates them?

NFTs are created by game developers. They are a digital representation of something that can be found in the game, for example, a sword or a hat. Once you purchase an NFT, it is yours to do with what you please. You can trade them on the marketplace, sell them for crypto-currency on CryptoKitties’ marketplace or even sell them back to the developer for ETH (Ethereum) and have them destroyed.

    Where can I find them?

NFTs, or Non-Fungible Tokens, are digital assets on the blockchain that are unique and cannot be replicated. They can be anything from a CryptoKitty to a rare ERC-721 collectible like a dogecoin frog. These tokens can represent anything you want them to represent (say, your favorite internet meme), and they’re traded on the Ethereum network using smart contracts.

    How do I buy them?

NFTs are created by sending crypto tokens to a smart contract. The contract then generates an ERC-721 token for the user. They’re called non-fungible because each one is unique and can’t be replaced with another.
For the most part, you’ll purchase them on exchanges like Coinbase Pro or Binance.

What can I do with them?

An NFT can be so much more than a collectible or even just a digital good. These tokens are programmable, meaning that they have the potential to be used in so many ways and for different purposes. For example, imagine if you were able to buy food at a grocery store with your favorite cryptocurrency instead of cash. You could then sell your groceries back to the store in exchange for another type of cryptocurrency that has been programmed to only work within the confines of this type of transaction.

    Are they a good investment?

NFTs are a new way of trading goods, but it cannot be easy to tell if they are suitable investments. I think that if you’re considering buying some NFTs, you should watch them for a while first to see how the market reacts to them. That way, you’ll know if the price will go up or down and make an informed decision.

    The bottom line

NFT stands for Non-Fungible Token. You might wonder what this means and why everyone’s so excited about them. In short, it’s like a token but with specific properties. For example, a Watch NFT could have the color blue, which you can make anyone wear to show support for your event or even show their timezone. You can also look at the first NFT watch sold by Jacob & Co. which is interesting.
