Complete Your Marathon Journey: Solving Every Map Guide

After completing the tutorial run in Marathon and starting your first real game, you’ll notice that the map screen shows three different maps, with one of them having two versions. Each map is unique, offering different environments and atmospheres.

Depending on the map, you’ll experience different tactical challenges. For example, one map might have many open areas making you vulnerable to snipers, while another features tight, enclosed spaces that are harder for enemies to snipe through. Knowing what each map offers is crucial because your equipment and strategy depend on it. Also, you need to play on all the maps to complete certain contracts.

    How to Unlock Every Map

Most of Marathon’s maps are available from the start, with some exceptions. When you join your first lobby, you’ll automatically have access to the following maps: Perimeter (Beginner), Perimeter, and Dire Marsh.

The beginner version of Perimeter differs from the regular one mainly in the number of players spawning there. This makes it easier for newcomers to get used to the gameplay since the robots can be quite challenging.

Note: The beginner Perimeter map is only available for your first two runs; it won’t be available for subsequent matches after those initial two, regardless of which map you choose.

There’s also an Outpost map that’s initially locked. To unlock it, you need to reach level 12 in a specific season. You can see your current level at the top left of the main menu. To level up faster, it’s best to team up in three-player lobbies, even if you join with random players, because you earn more experience points.

Best Loot Spots for Each Map

When you enter a map in Marathon, your main goal is to find the best loot. Your map highlights all the key loot locations, but some areas tend to have more valuable items than others. Here are the top loot spots on each map:

    • Perimeter: Overflow and North Relay are the best places to find loot. If you’re new, the Hauler area is also a good choice because it offers more protection.

    • Dire Marsh: The most loot can be found in the Complex and Maintenance areas. The Complex can be tricky to navigate at first, but it’s worth exploring.

    • Outpost: The best loot is beneath the Orientation and Airfield sections. These areas tend to have more valuable supplies.

    Tips for Each Map

Depending on which map you’re playing, here are some advice points to keep in mind:

    Map Tips
Perimeter This map is good for beginners since most large areas are separated, making it easier to spot nearby enemies. Be aware of a big wall on the north and south sides. Learn where you can enter and exit this wall — it will help you during fights.
Dire Marsh Many buildings are connected, allowing enemies to sneak up easily. The middle anomaly area is difficult to navigate, so try to avoid it if possible.
Outpost Best suited for close-quarters combat, with many players hiding inside buildings. It’s a hectic map with environmental hazards that force you to stay inside, so it’s better for experienced players.

How to Complete the Sewers in High On Life 2 and Solve the Challenges

High On Life 2 puts you in the role of an outlaw bounty hunter. While most of your time will be spent hunting and taking down criminals, even the toughest villains need to pause for a family dinner. The early parts of the game are filled with intense action and edgy humor, but your sister Lizzie introduces a different kind of mission that mixes things up.

The “Dinner With Mom” side mission is worth completing early because it offers good rewards, including a significant amount of money, some special guns, and an unusual story.

How to Start Dinner With Mom

You unlock this bounty after killing Larry Pinkstock and Muppy Doo, then picking up Jeppy from the train station. Lizzie arranges a dinner with you, her, and your mom at the Spaceforest Cafe.

To begin, enter the RV, select the screen near the driver’s seat, and press “Track” to start the mission.

Begin the mission from the center of the Circuit Arcadia Map and head southeast toward the Circuit Arcadia Mall, which is where the mission begins, as shown on the map.

How to Get to the Spaceforest Cafe

You’ll get a call from Lizzie informing you that you need to take the sewers to reach the cafe. Follow the path to the marker, and shoot the pulsing green blob to open the door ahead.

A force field will block your way. To proceed, turn left, shoot a pulsing red blob to clear some partitions blocking a hole, then shoot one of Creature’s kids inside. Guide the kid along the path below using a laser pointer until it reaches another partition. Use Sweezy’s charged shot to shoot away partitions by hitting another green blob, then guide the kid again. Repeat this process, shooting the green blob above the next set of partitions, guiding the kid into the tunnel above, and repeating once more to lower the force field.

Continue heading east following the map marker. When you reach the sewer entrance, shoot a Creature kid through a yellow hole, timing it to avoid the crackling electricity. Guide the kids from left to right, opening the door. Enter the sewer and use the wind turbine to boost over electric fences. Follow the left path, grind along the wall, jump into the large sewer grate, then use wind boosts to navigate across pipes and past spinning fans. This will lead you out of the sewer and back onto land.

Jump over the fence and head south into the Circuit Arcadia Zoo, staying on the right side until you see the facade of the Spaceforest Cafe.

    How to Fight Tiffany

Enter the restaurant and turn left to sit with your family for dinner. Choose an appetizer, then follow the conversation until Tiffany, a biker woman, interrupts with a fight. Use the environment—trees and high ground—to your advantage, staying mobile and switching weapons as needed. When Tiffany’s health drops to about 25%, she retreats with her allies, giving you a moment to regroup.

Jump into the RV and head to Wyoming to rescue your dad from a cult.

Rescuing Your Dad from the Cult

You arrive at Birch Springs Ranch, greeted by guards. To get inside, team up with Travis and Jan by selecting Travis as the main target and using Jan to perform Trick Shots on the green and silver platform along the coast. This tactic boosts your jump and allows you to cross gaps.

Inside, follow the path to Birch Springs Wellness Center. Enter the building, talk to Ted (who originally introduced your dad to the cult), then move through the lobby to find Gwendolyn. She directs you to the Ego Chamber deep in the forest, where your dad is being held.

Follow the breadcrumb trail out of the building and down the road. When you arrive at the Ego Chamber, break your dad free, fight your way out, and deal with the monsters that spawn from defeated foes. Return to the main lodge where your mom is waiting. After a family argument, head through the hallway to find Ted’s clothes and further confrontations.

Defeating the Big Mutant Mini Boss

Activate Ted’s clothes to summon the Big Mutant boss. Use Jan and Travis’s weapons to chip away at its health while dodging around the room. Use cover, unload your weapons, and repeat the process until the boss is defeated. Once clear, exit the room through the windows and fields to reach the Completion Hall, where a failed ceremony leads to a fight with Gwendolyn, now transformed into the Gwendolyn Birch Boss.

    Fighting Gwendolyn

Gwendolyn’s weak spot is the pulsing pink blob she grabs when near you—shoot it to do damage. Avoid her projectiles and shoot her blister when she grabs you, using Travis to attack her weak spot. As Jan advises, keep your distance but stay within Travis’s range. Repeat this attack pattern until she is defeated.

    The Final Phase

Gwendolyn resurrects and enters a new phase, firing green projectiles. Keep dodging and attacking her weak spot exposed when she’s vulnerable, maintaining distance and using your team’s firepower. This phase is similar to previous ones, relying on careful movement and high damage output. Repeat until she is finally defeated for good.

    Post-Battle Rewards

After defeating Gwendolyn, escape the scene and follow the path outside the window through the fields to the Completion Hall. You try to interrupt the final cult ritual, but things go wrong, leading to an encounter with Gwendolyn’s last form.

Once you return to the RV, you’ll debrief with your team, including your dad, mom, and Letsdoit. Rewards include 4,500 Pesos from the funds jar, a dual weapon upgrade for Jan and Travis, along with other additional upgrades and benefits.

  • How to Complete All Area Maps in Hollow Knight: Silksong

How to Complete All Area Maps in Hollow Knight: Silksong

If you’ve played Hollow Knight: Silksong even briefly, you’ll notice that without a map, it gets pretty confusing—especially in the larger areas. While you can press a button to view the map in each zone, it won’t show anything until you’ve found that specific map.

Each biome has its own map, and there are mainly two ways to acquire them. In some regions, you’ll encounter an NPC called Shakra who will sell you the map. In other areas, particularly later in the game, you’ll need to discover a special mechanism to unlock the map.

This article will be updated as we locate more map spots in the game, so check back if you’re stuck somewhere else!

Bone Bottom and the Marrow Map Locations

Bone Bottom and The Marrow are the initial biomes you’ll explore. You start in Moss Grotto, which is part of the larger Bone Bottom biome. To get the map for Bone Bottom, you need to reach The Marrow, which comes right after meeting the first civilization after completing the moss area.

After entering The Marrow, look to your right for a path leading slightly upwards. Continue climbing until the background turns orange. From there, keep going up until no more upward pathways exist. Then, move to the left where you’ll hear someone humming. Approaching the sound will lead you to Shakra.

Note: Keep your Rosary beads safe for this NPC from the beginning of the game.

Besides selling maps, Shakra also offers items like the Quill, Compass, Bench Pins, and Shell Markers. The Quill is particularly important because it allows you to update your map, and the Compass helps you locate your current position. If Shakra disappears after your first visit, they can also be found further in the civilization area outside The Marrow, slightly higher and to the right of the original spot.

    Map Prices:

    • Bone Bottom map: 40 Rosary Beads
    • The Marrow map: 50 Rosary Beads

    Deep Docks Map Location

After defeating the Bell Beast and crossing the lava bridge in The Marrow, you enter Deep Docks. The map here is easy to find because Shakra often appears along the way. Once inside, head right until you spot a small sign indicating a bench upwards. Continuing right, you’ll hear Shakra’s hum. Drop down to find them, and aside from the deep docks map, you’ll also get the Bellway Pins, which mark fast travel points.

    Map Cost: 50 Rosary Beads

    Far Fields Map Location

The Far Fields is the fourth biome after defeating Lace and crossing the lava bridge. Finding its map might be trickier since Shakra doesn’t hum here. The best approach is to go all the way right upon entering. Along your path, you’ll face three red-armored enemies. Defeat them and proceed right until you reach an open area with paths leading up, down, and right. Take the right path; within a small cave, you’ll hear Shakra.

You’ll recognize your route by familiar rings guiding you. The map can be bought for 50 Rosary Beads at this point.

    Getting the Map:
From the entrance, go right after defeating the enemies, find the cave, and enter. The map is just inside, where you’ll see Shakra.

    Greymoor Map Location

Once you complete the Far Fields and gain the glider, you’ll enter the Greymoor biome, split into two parts. After entry, you may explore left or right—going right leads you to a platform where Shakra is often found. Passing through the area, it’s best to head right again, where after one loading screen, you’ll find a drop. Using the local terrain, fall down, then continue right to spot Shakra, often near the owl enemies.

    Map Cost: 70 Rosary Beads

    Bellhart and Shellwood Map Locations

Past Greymoor, you’ll reach Haunted Bellhart briefly before moving into Shellwood. In Shellwood, keep heading left until you find a locked door. Climb upwards to bypass obstacles and reach a trap room filled with mobs. Moving further left to a door, you can take an elevator down; upon exiting, you’ll find Shakra waiting for you.

    Map Prices:

    • Bellhart map: 40 Rosary Beads
    • Shellwood map: 70 Rosary Beads

    Blasted Steps Map Location

After defeating the Widow and entering Blasted Steps via Shellwood, the difficulty increases sharply with tricky jumps and stormy winds. Progress through small tunnels, and after activating a platform-lowering lever at the top, move further up until the background darkens, indicating you’re close.

From that point, continue right, defeat the flying enemy with a red drill, and you’ll see Shakra’s ring nearby. Follow the path to find them with some additional jumps.

    Underworks Map Location

Having overcome the Last Judge in Blasted Steps and entered the Citadel, you’ll be dropped into Underworks. Move right past a couple of enemies, and climb up the area. A sign outside indicates a path—follow it to find the free map, given by a mechanism after defeating a few enemies.

    Coral Chambers Map Location

Getting the Coral Chambers map can be twofold. Early in Act Two, after defeating the Last Judge, you might see a model of the Citadel that sells this map for 40 Rosary Beads. Alternatively, after revisiting the area post-Underworld, you can unlock the map by going through dark tunnels, finding the Citadel model again, and purchasing it for 70 beads.

    Cogwork Core Map Location

After defeating the Cogwork Dancers, you reach Cogwork Core. The map is simple to find: enter the area and go left, where a shining doorway with a nearby bench marks the spot. Climb the wall to find an inactive warrior. To the right, step on a pressure plate to acquire the map, and activate the nearby wheel to place a bench.

    Whispering Vaults Map Location

Accessed from Cogwork Core, Whispering Vaults is stealthily hidden. Proceed right until the path opens downward, then jump across to continue right. You’ll face a large guard—defeat it, then hit a small dangling object above its position. This causes a ladder to appear; use wall-clinging to ascend. Move all the way left to find the concealed map for this area.

These maps are vital for progressing smoothly through the game’s extensive worlds, and locating Shakra and mechanisms is often the key to unlocking them. Some maps, especially the Coral Chambers, can be obtained for fewer Rosary Beads if purchased early or found through specific interactions. Keep exploring and gathering Rosary Beads to buy the necessary maps to make your journey through Hollow Knight: Silksong much easier.

  • The Walking Dead Introduces New Fortnite Maps, Characters And Gear

The Walking Dead Introduces New Fortnite Maps, Characters And Gear

The Walking Dead Universe Joins UEFN and Fortnite Creative

The Walking Dead has officially made its way into Fortnite, introducing a range of new weaponry, foes, and building materials. Players in Fortnite can now craft custom islands utilizing assets from The Walking Dead in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and in Fortnite Creative. As an exciting addition, when version 34.30 launches on April 8, players will welcome Negan as a non-player character (NPC), with the chance to play as him appearing on April 4.

And here’s the exciting news: you can begin constructing now (though your islands won’t be publishable on the Creator Portal until May 16). If you’ve taken a break from Fortnite, you’ll notice the game has evolved massively, far exceeding just the battle royale experience and incorporating a wealth of user-generated content and various game styles.

Among the new adversaries are Walkers, a sluggish, shambling horde — basically what most people envision when they think of zombies. They’re relatively easy to defeat in small numbers, but grouped together, they pose a significant threat. If a player gets bitten, they incur damage over time, echoing a classic horror trope: once bitten, there’s little hope left.

The Prison Starter Island offers a foundation for your map, but you can also utilize the Flat Grid Template to design a unique space. Opt for the classic zombie-slaying Shiva Shotgun or wield Negan’s infamous bat, Lucille, perfect for smacking down those mindless foes.

A multitude of guides and documentation is available to help you dive in. The Fortnite community thrives on creating fresh, custom content that keeps the gameplay entertaining long after the initial excitement of winning subsides, and this collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to continue that legacy.

  • Halo 2 Multiplayer Maps Return for 20th Anniversary Celebration

Halo 2 Multiplayer Maps Return for 20th Anniversary Celebration

    Xbox Game Studios

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Halo 2, Xbox is set to release several of the game’s multiplayer maps for Halo Infinite on November 5.

Halo Studios, previously known as 343 Industries, revealed on Monday that these seven maps will be included in a special playlist called Delta Arena. The maps — Ascension, Boulevard, Canopy, Conjurer, Inquisitor, Serenity, and Beaver Canyon — have been reimagined in Forge by members of the community, showcasing notable visual enhancements along with new titles. For instance, Beaver Canyon will appear in the playlist as Beaver Creek. Additionally, gameplay adjustments have been made to evoke the classic Halo 2 experience, including elevated jumps and player collision, along with a new starting weapon: the MA5K Avenger.

“Given the subtle differences between Halo Infinite and Halo 2, a direct one-to-one recreation was not feasible. However, we’ve created a blend between the two, where the settings conjure the feel of legacy Halo yet integrate elements from the modern sandbox,” said Halo Infinite designer Evan Colson in an post on Xbox Wire.

The announcement also highlighted that the renowned Halo 2 E3 2003 demo will be made available as a fully playable mod in Halo: The Master Chief Collection via the Steam Workshop.

This demo is particularly famous for making a huge splash when its video premiered at the expo, although much of it didn’t make it into the final game due to technological limitations. Similar challenges were faced with this latest version of the demo, which was crafted by modders using assets from the Digsite archives. They developed tools to facilitate the migration of those assets from a now-defunct engine. “The original executable is challenging to work with because you need an Xbox developer kit to run it, and those are becoming increasingly rare, even within the studio,” explained senior franchise writer Kenneth Peters.

Halo: Combat Evolved was landmark at its launch alongside the Xbox, and Halo 2 had high expectations to meet. Fortunately, it delivered ambitious features, including the introduction of Xbox Live for multiplayer gaming, while advancing the storyline, solidifying its spot as one of the best titles in the Halo series. You can currently experience it through Halo: The Master Chief Collection.
