    Brown, age 37, altered his plea during a hearing at London’s Southwark Crown Court. He had previously denied more serious charges related to the altercation in 2023.

    In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop charges of assault, attempted serious bodily harm, and possession of an offensive weapon.

    Omololu Akinlolu, Brown’s friend and vocal coach, also admitted to affray. Both defendants were set for trial in October.

    Brown denied attacking Abraham Diaw with a bottle at Tape nightclub in London’s exclusive Mayfair district in February 2023. However, prosecutors indicated that surveillance footage captured the incident showing a brawl in front of a packed club.

    “This was a violent, unprovoked attack by Brown and Akinlolu in a crowded nightclub, where Brown used a glass bottle as a weapon to hit the victim in the head twice,” stated Claire Campbell, a senior prosecutor with the Crown Prosecution Service, following the plea.


    “Such violence is completely unacceptable. The Crown Prosecution Service will continue to work diligently—collaborating with police and justice system partners—to pursue cases like this and uphold the rule of law.”

    Brown was previously released on a bail of £5 million (approximately $6.75 million), which facilitated his touring across Europe and North America last summer. He was again released on bail this Friday and is due for sentencing on October 26 for the affray charge, which could lead to a maximum sentence of three years in prison.

    When leaving court, Brown, dressed in a tan suit, gold-rimmed sunglasses, and a St. Louis Cardinals cap, signed autographs for fans.

    First rising to fame as a teenager in 2005, Chris Brown earned his first Grammy Award in 2011 for Best R&B Album with “F.A.M.E.” He garnered second place in the same category in 2025 with his album “11:11 (Deluxe).”

Everyone has a fundamental right to a safe, stable home, and I strongly oppose the use of Section 21 no-fault eviction notices, particularly on a large scale.”

    Section 21 notices allow landlords to evict tenants with only two months’ notice and no reason required. These notices are set to be eliminated in May under the Labour government’s Renters’ Rights Act. Housing advocates worry that landlords may expedite evictions before the law takes effect.

    Shelter, a housing charity, describes these notices as a leading cause of homelessness, citing their abruptness and the limited notice given to tenants to find new accommodations.

    A representative for Criterion Capital stated that reports of mass evictions have been “misrepresented and politicized routine and lawful tenancy issues.”

    Founded in 2015, the Aziz Foundation provides grants and internships to support British Muslims. Aziz previously served on the board of Mosaic, a leadership program established by King Charles in 2007.

    Recently, former senior Scotland Yard officer Tariq Ghaffur announced he is launching a criminal investigation into Aziz over complaints from residents of Fountain House, a luxury apartment building on Park Lane owned by one of Aziz’s companies, located near neighborhoods of prominent figures like Shahrukh Khan and the Sharif family.

    Aziz, who refers to himself as “Mr. Mayfair” and “Mr. West End,” manages a portfolio of high-end properties through his organization, the Aziz Foundation. His company, Parkgate Aspen, manages Fountain House. Ghaffur explained, “We are investigating Fountain House concerning complaints related to Aziz and his management team. The investigation stems from numerous leaseholder concerns and information we’ve collected. Due to serious issues uncovered, a criminal probe is warranted.”

    The dispute involves residents, all of whom are wealthy and successful, over service charges and other service-related concerns. Many residents have voiced frustration over inadequate services and maintenance.

    LONDON: The chief of staff to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer resigned on Sunday over the appointment of Peter Mandelson as ambassador to Washington, due to his connections with convicted U.S. sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

    “After careful consideration, I have decided to step down from my position. The choice to appoint Peter Mandelson was a mistake. He has done damage to our party, our country, and public confidence in politics,” Morgan McSweeney, Downing Street’s chief of staff, said in a statement.

    “I recommended the Prime Minister make that appointment and take full responsibility for that advice,” he added.

    The 48-year-old Irishman has maintained a low profile but has been called the “most influential person in politics” by some, having played a key role in Starmer’s decisive victory in the July 2024 elections.

    He is credited with shifting the Labour Party toward a more centrist policy platform after Jeremy Corbyn’s unsuccessful leadership. He has also been close to Mandelson, who previously helped Tony Blair reshape Labour and improve its fortunes in the late 1980s and early 1990s.

    His resignation comes amid a review by the foreign ministry of Mandelson’s severance package, as Starmer dismissed Mandelson last September over his friendship with Epstein.

    Mandelson, a significant figure in UK politics and the Labour Party for many years, received an estimated payout between $52,000 and $74,000 after just seven months in the role, according to the Sunday Times.
