Buying at least one of each new item adds it permanently to the store’s stock, making it easier to feed your Miis later. Each food comes in three sizes and can boost their happiness and levels, especially if it’s their favorite. Be sure to find and feed them their preferred foods to help them grow stronger and happier.

    ### 3. Feed Your Miis
    After stocking up on food, spend time giving it to your Miis. They won’t eat without your prompting. Each Mii has different food preferences; liked foods boost their mood and level, while disliked foods can harm their happiness. Foods fill their stomachs to varying degrees, so mix and match to see who likes what. Feeding them their favorites is the surest way to improve their mood and progress.

    ### 4. Buy New Clothes
    Customize your Miis by changing their outfits. The Where & Wear clothing shop offers a daily selection of clothes, shoes, and accessories that rotate often. Dressing your Miis in new clothes not only makes them look good but can also increase their happiness and level. Try to buy a variety of items for maximum effect—everyone enjoys new styles.

    ### 5. Visit the Market
    As your island level increases, new shops become available, like the daily Market. It now operates as a full truck that makes three visits each day—morning, afternoon, and evening. Each visit offers different mystery bags of items that may contain useful or rare things. Check all markets if possible, since each has unique items that can help you progress.

    ### 6. Watch the Mii News Station
    Your Miis will broadcast stories on the Mii News Network based on activities around the island. These broadcasts can be one of your fun daily check-ins, offering humorous updates about your Miis or special events. You can save up to 49 broadcasts, so mark your favorites.

    ### 7. Develop Mii Relationships
    Your Miis interact constantly, and now you can control that more than ever. Drag and drop Miis to introduce them or encourage conversations. Maintaining strong relationships keeps your island lively and happy. Check in regularly to see how their bonds grow and adjust interactions to keep everyone happy.

    ### 8. Play Mini-Games for Rewards
    Miis will occasionally call you over to play mini-games, marked by green lines above their heads. Win these games to earn treasures—one of three wicker baskets each containing a prize. Choose carefully to get the best reward, as defeating your Mii opponent can unlock valuable items.

    ### 9. Sell Unneeded Items
    Throughout your gameplay, you’ll gather treasures and other items from your Miis. The Rite Price Pawn Shop is where you sell these treasures. The shopkeeper will offer a price for each item, and you can decide when to sell. Instant payment helps you earn cash quickly, giving you funds to invest in your island’s growth the next day.

    When creating a new Mii on your island in Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, start by opening the menu with the plus button and selecting the option to add a new Mii. You can either build one from nothing or start with a pre-made template. New Miis are blank slates, so you have full freedom to design them however you want. The interface offers several options, which we’ll explain below.

    Designing the Face

    The first step is choosing the face’s appearance. This includes selecting skin tone, eye shape and color, hairstyle, nose, mouth, and other facial features. You can add facial lines, facial hair, glasses, and beauty marks. Most features can be customized with a wide range of colors, allowing for plenty of personal expression.

    Choosing the Body

    Next, decide what your Mii’s body looks like. Do you want them short and stocky or tall and slim? You can mix different body attributes to give each Mii a unique look. Additionally, choose their voice from several preset options, or customize it for a completely distinct sound.

    All Personality Types

    Finally, assign a personality to your Mii. This involves selecting five traits:

    • Movement speed (slow or quick)
    • Speech style (polite or blunt)
    • Energy level (flat or expressive)
    • Thinking style (serious or relaxed)
    • Dreams’ quirkiness (normal or quirky)

    These traits combine to form one of 16 personality types, listed in the chart below. Each type influences how your Mii behaves and interacts on the island.

    How to Edit Relationships

    Before finalizing your Mii, set their relationships, especially if your Miis are based on real people. Use the relationship menu to create connections, such as family ties or acquaintances. If you don’t want certain Miis to date or pursue romantic connections, assign vague relationships or prevent them from forming romantic links altogether. You can also designate spouses to develop romantic stories, though these will take some time to unfold.

    Editing Existing Miis

    If you want to change a Mii after creating them, you don’t need to delete and start over. Simply find the Mii, open the menu, and select the option to edit their appearance. This opens the full character creation menu, allowing you to adjust their face, body, personality, or even update their relationships without losing any progress or connections. You can also use face paint to draw directly on their face—adding small makeup details or creating entirely new designs depending on your creativity.

    Changing Outfits

    Miis have outfits that reflect their personality traits. These are simple and uniform, showing their initial status as new characters. To get more clothing options, visit the shop to purchase new outfits. You can gift clothes to your Miis as individual pieces or complete outfits. Dressing them is easy—access the wardrobe through the same menu where you edit their appearance, giving you the freedom to change their clothing as needed for different occasions.

    In Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream, your island begins very small, with only a few Miis and limited space. At first, it can seem like there’s no way to make the land grow. Don’t worry—your island will expand naturally as you progress through the game.

    You can have up to 70 Miis living on your island, which is fewer than the original 3DS version, but still plenty to manage. After creating 10 Miis and getting them settled into their homes, you’ll receive a news update about a new project called the Land Reclamation Project. This doesn’t make your island physically larger, but it adds more space around it.

    Your island won’t keep growing indefinitely, but there are certain milestones that happen automatically. Each time your island expands, a quick news report will celebrate the new land available for your Miis to explore after you start building on it.

    The game also introduces new land in small patches of grass and sand. You can choose to leave these patches as they are or clear them out completely. Once you upgrade your island, it’s best to keep the landscape simple—like just grass or sand—as a base you can customize later with more details.

    The land you add can be shaped freely, giving you plenty of room to design your perfect island. There’s enough space to comfortably accommodate all 70 Miis, so don’t worry about running out of room as you expand your island.
