Completing the Ultimate Assassin Build in Game of Thrones: Kingsroad

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad allows you to step into the shoes of the final heir to House Tyre amid the legendary landscapes of Westeros. You can choose to be a Sellsword, Knight, or Assassin, with your quick reflexes and sword skills being critical in confronting dangers from both sides of the Wall.

Among these roles, the Assassin is the swiftest class, perfect for players who enjoy fast-paced and combo-heavy gameplay. If you favor wearing down opponents with swift, continuous strikes, then the Assassin is your ideal choice.

    Recommended Traits

Assassins may not deliver the hardest hits like their larger companions, but they make up for it with their ability to land multiple strikes while a Sellsword or Knight would only manage one or two. Even heavy attacks from an Assassin come quickly, so it’s important to select traits that maximize your abilities. The best approach is to focus on boosting your Critical Strike rate.

Whenever you earn Trait Points as an Assassin, investing in Critical Strike Rate Increase is a solid choice. This option is available at various tiers of the Attack Trait Tree, allowing you to improve this stat early on in your journey.

Because Assassins attack more frequently than any other class, a high Critical Strike rate gives them a greater chance to land high-damage hits. As you progress and find that your combos consistently deliver at least one critical strike (often more), your damage per second (DPS) will quickly surpass that of other classes.

While you’re enhancing your skills, be sure to invest some points in Critical Strike Damage as well. Even a few Trait Points can significantly increase your Critical Strike Damage by ten percent each. A strong strategy is to assign one Trait Point to Critical Strike Damage for every five points you allocate to Critical Strike Rate.

    Skill Combinations

Assassins have a wide range of Skills to choose from. Here are a couple of builds that can help you maximize damage and effectiveness.

    Ambush, Ignite Weapons, Agile Movement

While you’ll need to level up to unlock all components of this build, it presents exceptional opportunities for Assassins to excel. Start fights with Ignite Weapon for extra burn damage, ideally enhancing this with additional Attack Power or Critical Strike Damage.

Next, employ Ambush to hit and stun your enemy, then activate Agile Movement before unleashing a powerful combo until your foe falls.

    Poison, Turning Kick

This effective one-two combo works well against single targets and groups, allowing you to keep one skill slot open for a complementary ability. Ensure you activate Poison initially, so your strikes inflict a damaging status effect on each enemy hit. Then, use Turning Kick to deliver a powerful attack, enhanced by the Skull Bash Reforge Effect.

If you’re teaming up with friends, choosing Retreat and Agile Movement can be beneficial, as both offer Reforge Effects that assist allies.

    Default Skills

On defense, Assassins depend more on Evasion than other defense strategies. It’s wise to invest in Evasion Attack and Sprint Attack skills, which will allow you to maintain consistent damage output while dodging attacks.

While Sneak Attacks can be thrilling, they shouldn’t be your sole strategy as an Assassin; use them to inflict heavy damage and finish off enemies face-to-face. Rather than dedicating numerous resources to Sneak Attack enhancements, focus on upgrading your favorite Strike Combo. This approach will streamline your combat style, ensuring you maximize its damage potential consistently.

Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, a mobile game inspired by the hit HBO series, was officially introduced to American fans during The Game Awards 2024, courtesy of Netmarble and WB Games. While its mobile platform may seem like a drawback at first, the game offers a more ambitious experience than you might expect.

The title is a full-scale third-person action RPG, following a gameplay teaser that Netmarble presented at G-Star in November. A press release detailing the game revealed that Game of Thrones: Kingsroad is set throughout the series’ fourth season, revolving around a character created by the player who becomes the heir to House Tyre. Being part of a noble family from the North means players will engage in the political intrigues of Westeros while battling the White Walkers alongside iconic characters like Jon Snow. Character customization options allow players to choose from various roles, including Sellsword, Knight, and Assassin, resulting in distinct real-time combat experiences.

Despite being designed for mobile devices, the combat mechanics of Game of Thrones: Kingsroad resemble those found in games like God of War: Ragnarok, rather than standard mobile gaming fare. Netmarble’s latest title is indicative of a broader trend in mobile gaming, showcasing enhanced graphics and greater ambition; other recent titles like Monster Hunter Outlanders have followed suit. However, the implementation of microtransactions will ultimately determine the game’s success, and details on that front remain unavailable. Nonetheless, it’s clear that the mobile gaming landscape is evolving, offering more detailed gameplay options than in previous years.

During its presentation at The Game Awards, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad also confirmed its planned release year for several regions. The game is set to launch on iOS and Android in North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, and the Middle East sometime in 2025.
