  • Fraimic’s E Ink Art Frame Creates Art From Your Voice

Fraimic’s E Ink Art Frame Creates Art From Your Voice

We’ve encountered numerous “smart art frames” at CES over the years. Most of them come across as fancy digital photo frames dressed up in elegant shells. However, one stands out as genuinely different: Fraimic, and I say this as someone naturally skeptical of this type of product.

The initial pitch is quite appealing. Just speak a prompt into the device, and its built-in microphone transmits the command to OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.0, which then creates full-color artwork displayed on a Spectra 6 E Ink screen.

What sets it apart from competitors like Aura and SwitchBot? Typically, with standard digital photo frames, you’d turn to your phone to change images. With Fraimic, simply tap, speak, and a piece of art appears on your wall—more like a painting on paper than pixels on a screen. It also features an accelerometer that detects whether the device is oriented in portrait or landscape mode.

When comparing options, Aura Frames usually require a subscription and don’t allow you to change the surrounding frame. SwitchBot frames lack voice generation capabilities. Fraimic offers both features, while also keeping your prompts and images private by default. The company provides a free quota of 100 AI-generated artworks annually and access to thousands of public domain works from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Additionally, a REST API enables seamless integration with smart home systems for developers.

The pricing is a bit challenging to swallow: $499 for the 13.3-inch model and $1,499 for the 31.5-inch version. For context, Aura’s similar frame costs about the same for the smaller size, but they offer smaller, less expensive options. SwitchBot also has a 31.5-inch model priced $200 lower. The 13.3-inch version is available now, but the larger one is listed for a July 2026 release. While the device has earned a Red Dot Award for Product Design in 2026, it remains a substantial investment for a first-generation product from a Chicago startup.

In my view, Fraimic occupies an interesting but awkward position. It’s too costly for impulsive purchases yet remarkably capable to dismiss outright. We’ll reserve judgment until we have a chance to try it firsthand.

  • iPhone Ringtone Gets Upgraded in iOS 26 and One Tone Is Amazing

iPhone Ringtone Gets Upgraded in iOS 26 and One Tone Is Amazing

Imagine the sound of the iPhone ringtone—chances are, you can hear it clearly or at least recognize it. The classic ringtone, Reflection, was introduced with the iPhone X back in 2017. However, in the latest beta of iOS 26 (the sixth version, to be precise), Reflection is about to be significantly upgraded.

This recent beta, which was released earlier this week, introduces six different versions of Reflection. Each variation offers a creative twist on the original melody, transforming what used to be a single ringtone into six unique remixes. One of these new versions, in particular, stands out as truly exceptional. I’m eagerly awaiting the full release of iOS 26 this fall so I can experience these in real-world situations.

[Here’s an overview of the new tones in iOS 26 beta 6!]

The seven new Reflection tones are:

    – Default (original)
    – Buoyant
    – Dreamer
    – Pond
    – Pop
    – Reflected
    – Surge

Among them, the “Dreamer” tone has garnered a lot of attention on social media, and for good reason. It’s truly impressive.

Many users are describing it as a bold move by Apple, and the buzz around it is palpable. The “Dreamer” version has a lively, dynamic quality, with drops that mimic the scratching of a DJ’s record. It sounds exactly like what you’d expect from a remix created by a DJ in a nightclub—captivating and energetic.

While the original Reflection is perfectly fine, this new remix, especially the Dreamer tone, has me excited for the fall launch. Its rhythmic drops keep your attention and add a modern, innovative twist to a familiar sound.

Aside from the new ringtones, iOS 26 beta 6 brings other notable updates. One of the most significant improvements is the enhanced speed for launching apps and transitioning to and from the home screen. This marks a noticeable upgrade over earlier beta versions and previous iOS releases, making the entire user experience feel much more responsive.

Apple has also made refinements to Liquid Glass, aiming for a perfect balance between clarity and transparency. These adjustments include more vibrant color dispersion when shifting between tabs within an app, along with new Liquid Glass effects on the Lock Screen and navigation toggles, enriching the overall interface.

In addition, many small tweaks and bug fixes continue to improve the stability and performance of the OS. With these refinements, iOS 26 is shaping up to be one of Apple’s most significant software updates to date.

Overall, the upcoming release promises a faster, more polished user experience with fresh visual effects and creative audio options—all pointing toward a major update that could set new standards for iOS.

  • Catalina Sandino Moreno Amazed by Ballerina Stunts

Catalina Sandino Moreno Amazed by Ballerina Stunts

Note: Spoilers for Ballerina are included in this article.

High-octane action. Complex fight sequences. Stunning stunts. These descriptors perfectly embody the John Wick series, widely considered the pinnacle of modern action films. The franchise now expands with Ballerina, a spinoff that centers on a female assassin, played by Ana de Armas, who seeks revenge for her father’s death. If you were apprehensive that Ballerina might deviate from the series’ established flair, worry not. Catalina Sandino Moreno, one of the film’s stars, experienced the exhilarating stunts firsthand.

“The stunt doubles are absolutely amazing,” Moreno shared during an interview. “They are incredibly passionate about their craft. The adrenaline flows through them, and watching them in action is simply remarkable.”

Directed by Len Wiseman, Ballerina introduces Eve Macarro, portrayed by de Armas, who grows up as an orphan training with the Ruska Roma to become a skilled assassin. As an adult, she embarks on a mission to avenge her father’s murder. Her journey takes her to the Continental in Prague, where she encounters another assassin, Lena. Like Eve, Lena has a troubled past, raised by the Chancellor (Gabriel Byrne) in an isolated Austrian village filled entirely with assassins.

Both women share remarkable traits—expert marksmanship, combat skills, and resilience—as it turns out they are sisters. This surprising plot twist left Moreno shocked when she first encountered the script.

“I never expected to discover their relationship,” Moreno commented. “Reflecting on my character, I saw that she was an orphan raised by the Chancellor, who served as a father figure. With Eve’s background of losing her father and her absent mother, hindsight makes it clear.”

The film delivers a riveting third act filled with relentless violence and an escalating body count, featuring Keanu Reeves’ John Wick as he once again proves his mettle as the ultimate assassin. After her experience in a John Wick film, Moreno has developed a deeper appreciation for action movies.

“Making an action film is incredibly demanding,” Moreno explained. “You have to be mindful of each other to prevent injuries, as accidents do happen. Every movement must be precise and intentional. My perspective on action films has transformed entirely.”

Ballerina is currently showing in theaters.

  • F1: Brad Pitt’s New Footage Behind The Wheel Is Incredible

F1: Brad Pitt’s New Footage Behind The Wheel Is Incredible

Director Joseph Kosinski aims to create the most authentic racing film to date with F1. After viewing the latest footage featuring Brad Pitt in action, it seems Kosinski may have succeeded.

Apple Original Films has unveiled the official trailer for F1, a sports drama from the visionary behind Top Gun: Maverick. The story follows Sonny Hayes (Pitt), a racer seeking redemption after a career-threatening accident in the 1990s left a mark on his professional life. Once hailed for his potential, Hayes is now recognized as “the greatest that never was.”

Three decades later, Sonny is offered a second shot by Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), his former teammate and the owner of the struggling Apex Grand Prix team (APXGP). Ruben persuades Sonny to join the team, partnering with rising star Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), who has much to learn. As someone labeled an “old school cowboy” and a “lone wolf,” Sonny must come to grips with the fact that success in Formula One hinges on teamwork.

“We all lose our jobs if you can’t pull off a miracle,” warns Kate, played by Kerry Condon, an employee at APXGP.

The trailer closes with thrilling racing sequences showcasing Sonny’s remarkable driving skills as he skillfully speeds down the track. Yet, F1 doesn’t shy away from depicting the inherent dangers of the sport, hinting at a potentially catastrophic crash.

“How do you think I’d feel if you die on the track?” Ruben’s voice echoes as he watches one of the cars spin out of control.

Other notable cast members include Tobias Menzies and Kim Bodnia.

Kosinski directs F1 from a screenplay by Ehren Kruger, based on a story developed by the two. The film is produced by Pitt, Kosinski, Jerry Bruckheimer, Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner, Chad Oman, and seven-time Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Although F1 tells a fictional story, filming took place at renowned Grand Prix venues over the past two seasons. Many real-life Formula One drivers, including Hamilton, Max Verstappen, Charles Leclerc, and Oscar Piastri, will make appearances.

F1 stands as one of the most ambitious projects of the summer blockbuster season. Its rumored budget is around $300 million, though both Kosinski and Bruckheimer have questioned this figure. Regardless of the actual expenses, F1 represents a high-stakes venture founded on an original premise, increasing its level of risk.

F1 is set to hit theaters on June 27, distributed by Warner Bros. under the banner of Apple Original Films.

  • Stunning Video of Solar Eclipse from Moon Shows Red Lunar Surface

Stunning Video of Solar Eclipse from Moon Shows Red Lunar Surface

Last night, people all over the United States were captivated by the lunar eclipse, but for one observer stationed on the moon, it was a completely different experience—one of a solar eclipse. The Blue Ghost spacecraft from Firefly Aerospace, located in the Moon’s Mare Crisium basin, witnessed the Earth passing in front of the sun.

Eclipses occur when the moon, Earth, and sun align perfectly, causing the Earth’s shadow to cast a red hue on the moon. Conversely, from the lunar perspective, the Earth would block the sun entirely. Fortunately, Blue Ghost managed to capture a stunning image of this event at approximately 4:30 a.m. ET.

According to Firefly Aerospace, “The photo features the sun just before it breaks free from the totality behind Earth. This is a historic moment, being the first instance where a commercial entity on the Moon could observe a total solar eclipse, while the Earth obscures the sun and casts shadows onto the lunar surface. This unique event coincided with the lunar eclipse visible from Earth.”

Additionally, the lunar lander captured an impressive video showcasing the eclipse, compiled from various photographs taken with different exposure settings. The moon’s surface adopts a reddish tone due to the way sunlight filters through Earth’s atmosphere, creating an eerie lunar landscape. Notably, a reflection of the eclipse can be seen on the lander’s solar panel, giving the illusion of two eclipses happening simultaneously.

This week, Blue Ghost has also transmitted remarkable images, including a breathtaking view of the sun as the solar eclipse commenced, taken around 1:30 a.m. ET:

Blue Ghost caught her first look at the solar eclipse from the Moon around 12:30 am CDT on March 14 from our landing site in Mare Crisium. Notice the glowing ring of light emerge in the reflection of our solar panel as Earth began to block the sun.
