Dogs and Humans Age Similarly, Study Reveals

Dogs may share more with humans than just living in the same homes and following similar routines. A recent study found that the biological markers linked to lifespan in humans also appear in dogs, suggesting that both species might age in surprisingly similar ways. This research is part of the Dog Aging Project, a long-term effort tracking pet dogs throughout their lives.

Researchers discovered that specific molecules in dogs’ blood are connected to whether they live longer or have a shorter lifespan. Interestingly, these patterns closely resemble those identified in human studies. These molecules are called metabolites—tiny chemicals produced by normal bodily functions that can reveal what’s happening at the cellular level. By analyzing these metabolites, scientists aim to better understand why aging occurs and what influences health and lifespan.

Blood samples from dogs enrolled in the project were analyzed, with owners providing regular updates on their dogs’ health, lifestyle, and behavior. Some owners also submitted biological samples yearly. The scientists examined thousands of metabolites within the blood samples and looked for patterns associated with lifespan. Rather than focusing on individual metabolites, they studied groups of these chemicals, forming what they describe as a biological “fingerprint.” Some fingerprints correlated with longer life, while others were associated with earlier death.

These patterns, known as biomarkers, don’t necessarily cause aging or disease but can indicate key biological processes underway. Understanding why these biomarkers appear could eventually lead to ways to promote healthier aging and mitigate age-related decline.

One of the most remarkable findings was how closely the results in dogs aligned with data from five extensive human studies that also used metabolite profiles to predict lifespan. In every case, the patterns matched remarkably well. This overlap is exciting because it implies that insights gained in human aging research could help improve canine health, and vice versa—studies on dogs may provide valuable clues about human aging.

Dogs are especially useful in aging research since they live alongside humans and share similar environments, diets, and activity levels. Their shorter lifespans—around 12 to 13 years compared to the human lifespan often extending into the 70s or beyond—allow scientists to observe aging processes and outcomes much more rapidly.

The researchers emphasize that their findings are just the beginning. They’ve uncovered important clues about aging and are eager to explore new directions. For dog owners, the message is clear: habits that promote healthy aging in people are likely beneficial for dogs as well. Offering a balanced diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and encouraging dogs to stay active both physically and mentally could help ensure longer, healthier lives for both dogs and their owners.

Where To Find the Human Records That Give Emotes in Pokémon Pokopia

Because multiplayer is such an important feature in Pokémon Pokopia, players need a way to show their feelings and communicate with friends or even take photos. Since there’s no chat or in-game messaging system—apart from the Nintendo Switch’s GameChat feature—players primarily use emotes for expression.

At the beginning, players will know a few simple emotes. As they explore Pokopia, they’ll discover more by finding hidden items throughout different areas. Interacting with these items unlocks new emotes, which can then be used to interact with friends or their Pokémon companions.

    All Emote Locations

Emotes are scattered across various parts of Pokopia, and players will need access to certain gated zones to unlock all of them. Once unlocked, players can test them out with Pokémon friends, who often react directly to the emote with a matching response.

To use an emote, press down on the D-pad. This will display a wheel of emotes, where you can browse and select favorites to quickly access later.

    Starting Emotes

The initial set of emotes available includes:

    • Celebrate
    • Cry
    • Shocked
    • Beckon
    • Bow
    • Sleepy

Below is a guide to where to find all other emotes:

  • Where to Find Human Records for Completing Outfits & Hairstyles in Pokémon Pokopia

Where to Find Human Records for Completing Outfits & Hairstyles in Pokémon Pokopia

When Ditto transforms itself to resemble its trainer in Pokémon Pokopia, having a fitting trainer outfit is essential. The game begins with a few basic clothing options in different colors, but these are pretty simple. If you want something more unique that suits your style, you’re in luck. Besides the initial outfits and hairstyles, you can find additional, scattered throughout Pokopia, some of which are inspired by famous Gym Leaders from the Kanto region. These outfits come as complete sets, but you can mix and match pieces, most including shirts, pants, shoes, and sometimes hats.

Below is a table showing where to find all the special outfits beyond the starting options:

    Outfit & Location Description Images
Ninja Outfit — Withered Wasteland Located east of the Pokémon Center, behind a breakable wall at what looks like a ruined house.
Ranger Outfit — Bleak Beach Found in the remains of Lt. Surge’s Gym, northwest of the S.S. Anne. Ranger Outfit
Sailor Outfit — Bleak Beach Situated on the wreck of the S.S. Anne, behind the ship’s wheel on the upper deck. Sailor Outfit
Rock Solid Outfit — Rocky Ridges Inside a cave near the mine tracks north of the Pokémon Center, across lava. Enter the small hole in the wall to find Brock’s outfit. Rock Solid Outfit
Super Nerd Outfit — Rocky Ridges On a pile of crates on the same rocky ridge, following the mine cart track past Brock’s location. Super Nerd Outfit

Similarly, Ditto can mimic iconic hairstyles from Gym Leaders in Kanto. Here are some locations for special hairstyles:

    Hairstyle Location Image
Mermaid — Withered Wasteland Found near Onyx’s area, in the same place as the Mermaid hair accessory. Mermaid Hair
Parted — Withered Wasteland Located on top of a cliff overlooking the northern gate, in the windy area. Parted Hair
Piled — Withered Wasteland Found atop a high ledge in the same general area, near Onyx. Parted Hair

Even if you haven’t uncovered all the options yet, you can always change Ditto’s outfit and hairstyle later. To do so, you need access to a mirror. Once you build your first home and are asked to furnish it, you’ll be directed to a PC shop, where you can purchase a standing mirror. Placing the mirror allows you to interact with it and revisit the initial customization menu. From there, you can modify Ditto’s look whenever you want, changing outfits, hairstyles, and more.

  • How To Unlock And Call All Telephone Numbers in No, I’m Not A Human Using Completing and Solving

How To Unlock And Call All Telephone Numbers in No, I’m Not A Human Using Completing and Solving

You spend all of your time inside the game “No, I’m Not a Human,” looking out through your windows and inviting strangers into your home. While your TV and radio help you stay connected to the world outside, there’s another way to communicate — your telephone.

There are 13 different phone numbers you can call during your gameplay, and calling all of them will earn you the “Phone Book” achievement. Some of these numbers are easy to find, but others are hidden. Here’s how you can learn all of them.

All Phone Numbers and How to Discover Them

Some of these numbers require you to have specific characters stay in your home for several days. Keep track of how long you need to keep each character, as you need at least three conversations with them to unlock their numbers. For instance, the minimum number of calls needed is three, so avoid trying after the ninth night, as you won’t have enough days left. Some characters need up to five days of interaction.

Remember, you also need to keep these characters alive and avoid FEMA taking them away. Use FEMA Notices, Cat Food, and saves wisely.

Important: Once you unlock a number, you must call it to count towards the “Phone Book” achievement.

    Number How to Unlock
Neighbor Invite your neighbor inside and talk to him on the first day. If you skip the introduction, the number will still be available.
ForRest Watch the TV in your bedroom on the second day. Extra ads may appear on subsequent days if missed. Items ordered arrive that night, and you can’t order again for a few days. Ordering unlocks the “Special Delivery” achievement.
FEMA Watch the TV in your bedroom on the third day. The number is always 000-451. Calling it before unlocking gives the “You Weren’t Supposed To Hear That” achievement.
Psychics Tune into the radio on the third day. Don’t cancel before the message ends. Calling this number unlocks the “Amateurish Exorcism” achievement.
Phone Roulette Listen to the radio on the fifth day. Cancel before the message ends, and it won’t unlock.
That Girl’s Friend Her daughter returns on the fourth night. Invite her inside and talk to her three times over three days for her to reveal her friend’s number.
Deadbeat Mom’s Husband Invite the mother with her child. Talk to her three times over three days, then she will give you her husband’s number.
Psychic Lady Invite the Fortune Teller home. During the second conversation over two days, she will give you her number.
Twin’s Husband Invite the Twins. Talk to the yellow Twin three times over three days to get her husband’s number.
Foreign Embassy Invite in the Man with the Stitched Mouth. Talk to him four times over four days to get the Foreign Embassy’s number.
Mama’s Boy’s Sister Invite in the “Best Son” t-shirt guy. Talk to him three times over three days until he shares his sister’s number.
Fat Aggro’s Wife Invite in the Angry Man. Talk to him four times over four days and he will give you his wife’s number.
FEMA Guy’s Wife Invite in the FEMA Wife. Talk to her five times over five days; she will then give you the number.

    How to Use the Phone

Your phone is located in the hallway near your front door and can only be used during the daytime. You can call any of the numbers you’ve unlocked. However, ForRest limits how many times you can order items, so after making an order, you won’t be able to place another for a couple of days.

Note: All numbers are generated randomly each playthrough, except FEMA’s hotline, which is always 000-451. Calling it before unlocking will earn you the “You Weren’t Supposed To Hear That” achievement.

This setup provides multiple opportunities to learn and explore each character within the game, adding depth to your gameplay experience.

  • Keeping Cultists Alive: Solving Challenges in No, I’m Not A Human

Keeping Cultists Alive: Solving Challenges in No, I’m Not A Human

In the game “No, I’m Not a Human,” there are ten different endings to unlock, with some being more difficult than others. One ending that all players will encounter at some point, even if not fully achieved, involves the cultists who visit your house regularly.

These cultists are connected to the “May Death Cleanse Us of Our Sins” ending. However, keeping them alive long enough to see this ending can be challenging. Here’s what you need to understand:

    ### How to Join the Cultists’ Ritual

On the eighth night, the Cult Leader will always come to your house. Regardless of your response, he will leave behind three cultists with you. Be careful not to invite any guests that could replace these cultists, as they will mention it if you do.

The Cult Leader comes back on the tenth night, and by that time, all three cultists must still be alive and with you. He returns again on the eleventh night, offering you the chance to join their ritual.

When the Cult Leader asks you to join, accepting will unlock the “May Death Cleanse Us of Our Sins” ending. If you refuse, the game continues as normal. But keeping all three cultists alive throughout is crucial.

Beware: FEMA might visit on the tenth night before the Cult Leader does. If FEMA takes away a cultist before the Cult Leader’s visit, it will ruin your chances of the ending.

The good news is that the cultists count as people in your home, so you don’t need to worry about the Pale Man while they’re present. However, if even one cultist is lost or taken by FEMA before the Cult Leader’s return, he will declare all are dead and remove any remaining cultists.

    ### How to Keep the Cultists Alive

First, you need to get the cat. Inviting the Cat Lady on the fourth night is necessary because she’s a visitor, and you’ll need her cat. Kill the Cat Lady as soon as you can to get the cat, which you must then use to order two cans of Cat Food from ForRest. Save this food for later.

Next, save your FEMA notices. These notes can be given to guests to prevent FEMA from taking them at the next visit. If you accidentally use a FEMA notice, some guests might bribe you to let them in. Keep track of guests who are willing to bribe, so you can refuse or accept as needed.

When the cultists arrive by the ninth night, if you’re certain no other visitors are in your home, you don’t have to do anything special. If you suspect a visitor might be one of the cultists, use some Cat Food to prevent anyone from dying that night. It’s best to reserve this for the later nights, but using it on the ninth night can help you identify and eliminate potential visitors.

After the cultists arrive, starting from the ninth night, hand out at least two FEMA notices to guests who are not cultists. This ensures they won’t be taken away on the tenth night. Use the Cat Food to keep everyone alive on the ninth and tenth nights, protecting you until the eleventh night when the Cult Leader can be persuaded to let you join the ritual. Alternatively, if you already have enough guests for FEMA, you can refuse admission to everyone else to prevent losing anyone.

Remember not to invite anyone in who intends to sit in the same spot as the cultists or would replace a cultist, as they could interfere with your plan.

  • What Does the Mushroom Man Do in No, I’m Not a Human? Completing and Solving

What Does the Mushroom Man Do in No, I’m Not a Human? Completing and Solving

There are ten different endings in “No, I’m Not a Human,” and figuring out how to unlock each one can be quite tricky. Since the game relies heavily on luck—such as which visitors arrive and what circumstances unfold—it becomes even more challenging to intentionally trigger the endings you want.

To unlock the “Shroom or Doom” ending, you need to perform the mushroom ritual, which involves following the instructions given by the Mushroom Man, also known as the Mushroom Eater. Here’s what you need to do:

How To Perform The Mushroom Ritual

Get the Cat into Your House
Before talking to the Mushroom Man, you must allow the Cat Lady into your house on the fourth night. She is a guaranteed visitor, but you will need to kill her the next day. Letting her in is the only way to get a cat inside. Having the cat in your home causes it to scratch up the carpet, revealing a basement door that is essential for this ending.

Wait for the Mushroom Man to Visit
The Mushroom Man has a chance of appearing on the sixth night, during which you’ll see the city burning through your peephole, and no other visitors will knock on your door. If he shows up, it’s definitely him knocking on the sixth night. After his visit, a piece of paper appears on your bedside table containing poem clues that guide you through the ritual.

    How To Get The Mushroom

The day after the Mushroom Man visits, go into the basement. On your left, you’ll find a mushroom growing among the potatoes. Interact with it and mention that you put it in the fridge. Then, head upstairs, go into your kitchen, and select the mushroom from the fridge to eat it. Continue with your day as usual and wait until the next daytime.

    Where To Find The Apple

The day after you eat the mushroom, return to the Hall (the room with the crucifix). On the shelf beside the toy, you’ll see an apple had appeared. Click on it to eat it automatically. Afterward, wait for the next day.

    Where To Find The Clock

The day after eating the apple, go into your Bedroom. A clock will appear above your bed. Click to set the time to 12 o’clock. This is the final step indicated by the poem’s clues.

Once you complete these steps, the Mushroom Man will visit you that evening to applaud your adherence to the instructions. The following night, he will ask if you’re willing to go to Mushroom Land. Agreeing to go will trigger the “Shroom or Doom” ending. Declining will allow the game to continue normally without this ending.

    Additional Notes

The Mushroom Man’s appearance used to occur only after unlocking some other endings, but this was changed with a game patch. After he visits, a note appears on your bedside table with instructions in poem form, which you must follow precisely to progress. If you fail to follow his guidance, he will return later to scold you for ignoring his warnings.

  • Things We Wish We Knew Before Completing Our Door to Strangers in No, I’m Not Human

Things We Wish We Knew Before Completing Our Door to Strangers in No, I’m Not Human

Surviving in “No, I’m Not a Human” is all about figuring out if the people knocking at your door are real humans or dangerous visitors trying to kill everyone during the night. You need to be able to tell them apart to stay alive.

This game is full of secrets, many endings, and small details. To help you get through your first few playthroughs more easily, here are some useful tips based on our experience.

Check the TV More Than Once a Day
Each morning, you get a broadcast warning about new symptoms. But it’s helpful to click the TV in your bedroom more than once during the day—up to two extra times. Doing this unlocks new info, like fresh items at ForRest or new phone numbers to call.
Additionally, you can listen to the hallway radio once a day once you find the right station. This can reveal more details and contacts.

Use ForRest as Often as Possible
On your first full day, when you see the ad for ForRest’s delivery service, call and order two cans of EnerJeka. Each can restores some stamina. Keep ordering these every possible day, since they offer helpful advantages. Remember, you can only order one item per night, and deliveries arrive that night. After that, you need to wait a couple of days before ordering again.
Prioritize items like EnerJeka or Cat Food, which give you useful benefits.

Let the Cat Lady Inside, Even Though She Looks Not Human
The woman with the long neck and a cat isn’t human, but always let her in. She might kill a guest on her first visit, and you’ll need to shoot her in the morning, but it’s worth it. She’s the only way to get the cat into your house, which opens additional endings and enables you to use Cat Food. When used, Cat Food prevents anyone from dying overnight—even if a visitor is present.

Skip Using Cat Food on Nights 6 and 13
While using Cat Food is generally helpful, don’t waste it on nights 6 and 13. No new visitors arrive then, so verifying your guests during the day should suffice. Save your food for nights when new visitors might come.

Stay With People on Certain Nights
The Pale Man Visitor appears on nights 3, 5, 9, and 11. He asks if you are alone. If you are, that’s an immediate game over—so make sure to have someone in your home those nights, even if it’s risky.
Beware, FEMA also shows up on nights 4, 5, 8, and 10, removing one or two people each time. Plan who you invite carefully.

Use FEMA Notices for Unsure Characters
When you suspect someone isn’t human, give them a FEMA Notice. It guarantees FEMA will take them away on their next visit. This helps protect alliances you want to keep or removes characters you’re unsure about, especially if your stamina is low and you want to avoid testing each guest.

Not All Visitors Kill or Show Typical Symptoms
Not every Visitor kills on their first night, and some may look completely normal—like having regular eyes or no hair. For example, the Cat Lady doesn’t always kill, and characters like the Immortal Man, Seductive Woman, or Dreamer Guy might be non-hostile. Keep in mind, only one death can happen per night, even with multiple Visitors.

Humans Can Fake Symptoms; Use Context and Backstories
Symptoms such as red eyes or skin irritation aren’t guaranteed signs of Visitors. For example, the woman with glasses has red eyes because she cried, and her skin might be burned from trying to save children. The grave digger’s dirty nails are just part of his job. Pay attention to what you know about each character—they often give clues about their true nature.

Check and Change Your Own Symptoms Regularly
You can verify your own health in the bathroom mirror. You might see that your teeth are white or that you have fungus under your arms. Symptoms like fungal armpits or red eyes can come and go, so keep an eye on your condition. Also, during the later nights—like the eighth, tenth, and twelfth—you’ll meet the Vigilante, who asks for proof you aren’t a Visitor. Failing to show proof results in death, so use your symptoms or other guarantees (like clean hands or white teeth) as evidence.
Remember, symptoms are temporary and will revert after a few days.

You’re Not As Limited in Saving as You Might Think
There’s a jar of Kombucha in the hallway you can use to save your game. If used, you need to order another jar before saving again, which is limited by how often you can order. Alternatively, you can use the game’s menu option to “Save and quit” without using a jar. This lets you pause and return later without consuming resources, making planning your moves easier.

Always Have People in Your Home on Certain Nights
On nights 3, 5, 9, and 11, it’s crucial to have someone else with you. The Pale Man visitor appears and asks if you’re alone. If you’re single, it’s game over. Bringing guests can be risky but necessary to avoid bad endings.
However, be aware that FEMA removes people during nights 4, 5, 8, and 10, so choose your houseguests wisely.

Use FEMA Notices to Manage Suspicious Characters
Giving a FEMA Notice to a guest ensures FEMA will take care of them on their next visit. Use this on characters you’re unsure about to keep your house safe or to remove potential threats. Notices can sometimes be given in exchange for bribes or when FEMA visits.

Visitors Don’t Always Kill or Show Typical Symptoms
Some Visitors, like the Cat Lady, don’t always kill on their first night. The symptoms they show can be normal, such as healthy eyes or no visible signs. There are also a few non-hostile visitors that are still dangerous but less likely to kill immediately, like the Immortal Man or Dreamer Guy. Only one death can happen each night, regardless of how many Visitors are present.

Humans Can Faint False Symptoms, So Identify Them Carefully
Symptoms can be faked by humans. For instance, the woman with glasses has red eyes from crying and skin burns from helping children—not necessarily indicating she’s a Visitor. Use logic based on character backstories and appearance to make accurate judgments.

    Check Your Own Symptoms Regularly
Look at yourself in the mirror to see if anything unusual is happening—like fungal armpits or discolored teeth. Symptoms such as fungus or red eyes are temporary and can reappear after a few days. Keeping your own health in check is vital to prove to visitors and to stay alive.

You Can Fight the Save Limit with a Friendly Trick
A jar of Kombucha in the hallway allows you to save your game without using resource-consuming options. To do this, just go to the menu, select “Save and quit,” and your progress will be saved without using the jar. Just remember, you’ll need to reorder another jar through ForRest each time you want to save again.

OpenAI’s Top Human-ChatGPT Talks Will Surprise You

OpenAI has unveiled its most comprehensive analysis to date regarding how people interact with ChatGPT. In a study conducted by the company’s Economics Research team, alongside Harvard economist David Deming, data from 1.5 million ChatGPT conversations was examined. The findings shed light on some fascinating trends about user engagement with the AI chatbot.

As of July 2025, ChatGPT boasts a user base of over 700 million, with users exchanging around 18 billion messages weekly—equating to about 2.5 billion messages daily. The primary purpose for most users appears to be work-related assistance, with writing being the most prevalent activity.

Approximately 42% of all work-related messages involve writing tasks, and this form of interaction accounts for more than half of the messages among users in management and business roles. Interestingly, the gender gap among users has shifted; now, more than half of the users have female names, and nearly 50% of all ChatGPT users are under 26 years old.

The most common topics discussed with ChatGPT revolve around practical advice, writing guidance, and information retrieval, which together make up about 78% of all interactions. Specifically, in nearly half of the messages, users are seeking guidance or information, while 40% are using ChatGPT to perform tasks connected to their workflow.

There are some surprising insights as well. Despite the prevalent concern that programmers might be at high risk of losing jobs to AI, inquiries about coding and programming only represent around 4.2% of the chats analyzed.

In recent weeks, discussions around ChatGPT’s potential negative impacts and incidents have sparked debate, prompting the company to implement parental controls and warning systems. Nonetheless, conversations related to relationships and personal reflection account for just 1.9% of the analyzed interactions. Additionally, only about 1% of users communicated personal feelings or self-expression to the chatbot, which is unexpected considering the reports of users engaging in romantic or personal conversations with AI personalities available on platforms like Nomi, CharacterAI, and Replika.

Blindsided By AI Chess Bots This One Acts Like A Human

For many years, chess has been considered a benchmark for testing how advanced artificial intelligence can become when competing against human intelligence. The milestone came in 1997 when IBM’s Deep Blue supercomputer defeated the reigning world chess champion, Garry Kasparov. This event was seen as a significant turning point, with The Wall Street Journal describing it as “a substantial setback for mankind.”

However, the outcome was not entirely one-sided. Just a month ago, Norwegian chess grandmaster Magnus Carlsen managed to beat ChatGPT in a game without losing a single piece. Interestingly, AI chatbots are also competing among themselves. Earlier this month, ChatGPT—powered by OpenAI’s GPT-3 reasoning model—defeated Grok, an AI chatbot created by Elon Musk’s xAI team, in a chess tournament.

But how does the average chess enthusiast stack up against AI bots? Many find it to be a frustrating experience. A common theme on chess forums is that bots tend to play “differently from humans.” When facing a powerful engine like Stockfish 16, which can evaluate over ten million positions every second, few players stand a real chance.

Some seasoned players argue that beating chess engines is easier because they follow predictable patterns, and that understanding how to survive an early assault can lead to victory. Nonetheless, AI bots don’t play by traditional chess rules—they rely on complex calculations and unconventional tactics. A researcher at Carnegie Mellon University recently introduced a different approach: designing an AI chess bot that plays more like a human.

    Introducing Allie

The brainchild of Yiming Zhang, a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University’s Language Technologies Institute, Allie aims to mimic human-style play. Zhang was inspired by Netflix’s popular series, “The Queen’s Gambit,” which sparked his interest in chess. However, he quickly became frustrated with existing AI bots, which tend to play unnaturally and rely heavily on brute-force calculations to win.

What sets Allie apart is its training process. It has been taught using 91 million transcripts of real human chess games. This extensive dataset allows it to emulate the thought processes, attacking strategies, and defensive maneuvers typical of average human players. According to a research paper, Allie even “ponders” during critical moments, much like a human would.

    Test Your Skills Against Allie

You can challenge Allie online through the platform Lichess, where it has already played over 11,500 games against human players. Out of these, it has secured more than 6,500 wins, lost just over 4,000, and about 500 games ended in a draw.

Despite its human-like thinking, Allie remains a formidable opponent. It can hold its own against everyone from casual players to experienced grandmasters. During tests against top-level players with a rating of 2500 Elo, Allie demonstrated the strength of a grandmaster, all while learning solely from human gameplay.

Since its public debut, Allie has gained popularity and is available for free. It currently only accepts invites for quick “Blitz” games. Additionally, those interested in understanding how a human-like AI makes its decisions can observe it competing against other players on Lichess. The project’s code is openly accessible on GitHub, allowing researchers and enthusiasts to build upon its framework.

Yiming Zhang created Allie after becoming interested in chess from watching “The Queen’s Gambit.” He observed that many existing AI programs play strangely, with tactics that are difficult for humans to understand. With Allie, he aimed to bridge that gap by developing an AI that thinks and moves more like a human player—an innovation that might reshape how we interact with chess engines in the future.
