    According to Rockstar Games, the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition promises players “the most immersive GTA experience yet,” including premium vehicles, weapons, cosmetics, and access to various activities throughout Jason and Lucia’s storyline. Many fans have criticized the edition as “predatory” for restricting content behind a paywall, especially considering the game’s already steep $80 price point.

    On social media, some users expressed frustration, with one posting, “Rockstar’s ‘Ultimate Edition’ is straight-up predatory bullshit. Paying extra for basic outfits, tattoos, a decent car, and story content that should’ve been in the game at launch? They’re no longer selling a masterpiece—they’re selling a $70 beta and a DLC loot box for whales. GTA died when it became this greedy. Wake up.”

    Another user added, “I don’t care about the extra cosmetics. But charging more for exclusive locations and extra activities is just bullshit for preorders. That’s what happened with Star Wars Outlaws, and look how that turned out.”

    GTA Online Treasure Hunt Guide: Locations & Rewards Revealed

    The Treasure Hunt in Grand Theft Auto Online started with The Doomsday Heist update and was originally a promotion for Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2. Even though it was added in 2017, players still enjoy the mission today. Those who finish it earn a special weapon from the Wild Western RPG series.

    The hunt kicks off with finding a clue, which appears as one of 20 random locations shown by a photo. While the image gives some hints, it can be tricky to figure out exactly where you are if you’re new to the area.

    As you go through the mission, you get paid $5,000 for each clue you find. After collecting all the clues, you can earn more by using the new weapon to complete a headshot challenge.

    How to Start the Treasure Hunt

    1. Open Your Email in GTA Online
      When you join an online session, whether public or private, you’ll get an email from vanderlinde@eyefind.com on your in-game phone, usually at the bottom right of the screen.
      This email begins the Treasure Hunt and shows a black-and-white photo of a location where you need to search for a clue that leads to secret treasure. The email may arrive a few minutes after you start your session.

    Important: Don’t exit online mode or turn off the game before finishing the hunt. If you leave midway, the whole mission resets, and when you come back, a new clue location will be assigned, erasing any progress you made.

    Treasure Hunt Locations

    Look for the yellow question mark on your map, which marks potential clue spots. The initial search area can be broad, so it helps to know the possible locations listed below. Cross-referencing the clues with the locations will help you find the right spot.

    When you’re close to the clue, listen for a metal wind chime sound — that’s your cue you’re near the note, which is usually attached to a rock, tree, or other object in the area shown in your photo.

    Unlocking the Double-Action Revolver

    Once you find the first clue at a location, you’ll need to locate three more to complete the mission and unlock a special weapon—the Double-Action Revolver. When all clues are found, your map will show a random spot with a treasure chest. Opening this chest will give you the revolver, which you can collect and use.

    After unlocking the revolver, you can take on a challenge to land 50 headshots. Successfully completing this challenge rewards you with a gold-plated version of the weapon, plus a cash prize of $250,000 in GTA Online.

    Completing the Headshot Challenge

    You can earn headshots by targeting NPCs or other players. Certain busy areas are good spots for this, especially since hitting NPCs in open areas is easier but may attract police attention, which can be frustrating.

    A riskier but more profitable option is robbing stores and then getting a headshot of the shopkeeper. Repeating this process several times can bring in a lot of money. Each store robbery can earn $10,000 to $15,000, so doing it 50 times for the headshot count can be very rewarding.

    Keep an eye out for notifications after every 10 headshots—they tell you how close you are to finishing. Once you hit 50, the game grants your reward instantly.

    GTA Online has just rolled out a Halloween-themed update! By tracking down all ten ghosts hidden around Los Santos, you can earn some eerie rewards. The challenge, dubbed “Ghosts Exposed,” is part of an in-game show that promises rewards for players who can snap photos of these spectral beings. If a weed farm isn’t your thing or you want some extra cash, this event is a fantastic way to boost your earnings.

    To kick off this ghost-hunting mission, you’ll need to receive an email from Ghosts Exposed after the update. Once you get that, you can start your search each night from 7 PM to 6 AM. Each ghost appears at a designated time and place, so plan accordingly!

    The Specters Are Spread Out, So Plan for Multiple Nights

    When you’re on the hunt, keep in mind that each ghost has a specific spawn time. If you miss one, you’ll have to wait for its designated hour to try again. For a clearer picture of their locations, check out TGG‘s guide on YouTube. Most ghosts are over two minutes apart — which is about the time it takes for an in-game hour — so you won’t need to worry about capturing them all in one go. This task is similar to the Treasure Hunt promo in Red Dead Redemption 2, but generally easier.

    Each ghost has two different spawn points in its area, so be vigilant.

    1 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM Two possible spots include the Hill Valley Church in Pacific Bluffs: on the roof on the south side or near a grave on the north side.
    2 8:00 PM – 9:00 PM This ghost is near a sofa in the northern part of the homeless camp under the highway bridge in Strawberry or by the fire near the wooden structure.
    3 10:00 PM – 11:00 PM In El Burro Heights, check the water tower. The ghost will be either atop the tower or above the memorial sign nearby.
    4 11:00 PM – 12:00 AM For the fourth ghost, go to the east side of the Miriam Turner Overpass, the major bridge linking the airport and the Port of Los Santos. Look for a ghost atop the tallest support arch. If you don’t see it, check the opposite side.
    5 1:00 AM – 2:00 AM The fifth ghost can be found in the tall tower of Miguel Madrazo’s mansion. It can appear on either side, so if you don’t see it from the front gate, check the back.
    6 2:00 AM – 3:00 AM Head to Cypress Flats and check the alleyway behind the train station. Here, the ghost will either hang from a hook or stand by the edge of the building to the west.
    7 3:00 AM – 4:00 AM In Rockford Hills, visit the large church. The ghost spawns atop one of the two towers, which you can easily spot from the parking lot across the street.
    8 4:00 AM – 5:00 AM Your next ghost is in Little Seoul and can be elusive. It will appear in one of the church towers on either side of the main road. Use a higher viewpoint or stand on your car to get a clear shot.
    9 5:00 AM – 6:00 AM Ghost number nine is in East Vinewood, on the upper floor of the apartments near the Casino. To photograph it, position yourself in the complex’s parking lot.
    10 12:00 AM – 1:00 AM The final ghost appears at the base of the Dam precisely at midnight. You’ll need to access the bottom of the spillway, so take the roads down.

    Keep in mind that ghost number ten will only show up after you take pictures of the other nine. It appears at midnight, which means even the quickest players will have to devote at least two or three nights to finish the ghost hunting. Once you capture all ten, you’ll receive a nice set of rewards.

    All Ghost Exposed Rewards

    Expect Cash, RP, and Some Cosmetic Items

    In the email you receive, Ghosts Exposed will inform you that they’re offering to pay for your ghostly photographs. Each picture you take will earn you GTA$ 40,000, plus 500 RP. After becoming a ghost-hunting expert by capturing all ten, there’s a bonus of GTA$50,000. In total, this could net you around GTA$450,000, making this a solid method for quick cash.

    As a final reward for completing the event, you will receive the Ghosts Exposed Outfit and the Ghosts Exposed Livery for the Albany Brigham, provided you do not already have these from last year’s event. This engaging Halloween update for GTA Online is straightforward and offers fans of the spooky season a fun activity along with an opportunity to earn some quick money.

    A Movie Shot In Grand Theft Auto Online Hits Theaters Soon

    During the lockdowns of the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us found ourselves searching for ways to combat boredom, but few took it to the extreme of filming an entire documentary within Grand Theft Auto Online. Titled Grand Theft Hamlet, this innovative project has attracted attention, winning the jury award for best documentary feature at SXSW this year, and is now set for both theatrical and streaming releases.

    According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, the independent streaming platform Mubi has secured the distribution rights for Grand Theft Hamlet. This documentary chronicles the journey of two actors attempting to stage a rendition of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet within the expansive universe of GTA Online. However, as seen in the showcased clips, they encounter a variety of challenges in a game where chaos and mayhem are part of the experience.

    The film will premiere in the UK at the BFI London Film Festival next week, with an anticipated theatrical release in early 2025. Although Mubi has yet to disclose detailed information, an official post on X (formerly Twitter) described it as “a groundbreaking, immersive interpretation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.”

    Grand Theft Hamlet can be compared to classic machinima like Red vs. Blue, where creators shoot scenes using gaming engines. This practice is still around, with examples like the widely popular Skibidi Toilet, produced using Source Filmmaker, but it’s not as prevalent as during the peak of YouTube and the web series era.

    While it may not signal a resurgence of successful machinima, it’s a rarity to see such a film reach theaters. In a landscape filled with video game adaptations, it could be intriguing to witness a game interpreted as it exists on the big screen. However, it remains uncertain if it will premiere before the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.

    One of Steam’s most popular games, Grand Theft Auto 5 (GTA 5), has run into a problem for Steam Deck users. Both GTA 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online are no longer supported on Valve’s handheld console.

    In an update for version 1.69, Rockstar Games explained that Steam Deck support was dropped due to the integration of BattlEye Anti-Cheat for GTA Online. While this addition aims to combat cheating in the game’s online mode, it also led to the game becoming unsupported on Steam Deck.

    Valve now marks the game as “unsupported” under its Deck Verified program, meaning it’s considered unplayable on the device. Although players can still enjoy the single-player GTA 5 campaign, GTA Online is no longer accessible, and overall support for the game on the Steam Deck has been removed.

    This affects a significant number of players. Despite being nearly ten years old, GTA 5 remains one of the most popular games on PC. As of now, it ranks 11th on Steam Deck’s most-played list over the past year, with over 100,000 concurrent players on Steam, according to SteamDB.

    The addition of BattlEye, which has been widely requested by players due to cheating issues, was introduced on Tuesday. The software tracks IP addresses, hardware, and other details from players to detect cheating. BattlEye can be turned off when not playing GTA Online, as noted in the official Rockstar FAQ.

    It’s unclear why BattlEye created this compatibility issue, especially since in 2021, the company announced support for Proton, the OS layer that allows Steam Deck’s Linux system to run Windows games. According to The Verge, BattlEye should still function and be easy to enable for developers.

    Valve also commented in 2021 that enabling BattlEye for Proton required minimal effort from developers. It works for other games like Rainbow Six Siege, Destiny 2, and The Crew 2 on Steam. However, the integration of external game launchers, such as those from EA or Rockstar, can cause issues, potentially contributing to GTA 5‘s problems on Steam Deck.

    A Reddit user who contacted Steam support mentioned that Valve is collaborating with Rockstar on a fix, and the publisher has “heavily discounted the game” in the meantime. Currently, the premium edition of GTA 5 is 25% off, and a bundle with the Great White Shark Card is discounted by 66%, now available for $20.

    How Big Is It?

    It’s reported that GTA 6’s map will be “as big” as Red Dead Redemption 2’s, but without the open world.

    Like Red Dead Redemption 2, which had the tropical island of Guarma that players visited once in the campaign but couldn’t return to afterward.

    Comparison with RDR2

    Because Red Dead Redemption 2‘s map is so big, Grand Theft Auto 6’s will likely be enough. But, of course, all of this assumes the leaked map size info is valid.

    A smaller or larger map is always possible between now and launch.

    Map Locations

    Apparently, Rockstar has already changed its mind about the Grand Theft Auto 6 map size. According to Rockstar Games, there is a plan for the GTA 6 map to cover a lot of North and South America.

    However, those ambitious plans fell flat, and the developer set the game in a fictional Miami. This means GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, as has been rumored for years.

    After GTA 6 releases, Xfire reports that Carcer City and Liberty City will be included. In GTA 3, GTA San Andreas, and GTA 4, Liberty City is a beloved fictional city based on real-world New York.
