How to Get Fennekin, Froakie, and Chespin in Pokémon Legends: Z-A Through Completing and Solving

You can’t start Pokémon Legends: Z-A with the Kalos starters, but you can still find and add them to your team later. Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie are all available in the game and can be obtained relatively early. If you want to replace your initial starter with a Gen 6 Pokémon, this is good news.

At the beginning of the game, you won’t see any of the Kalos starters roaming around. You only get one of each at the start, and you’ll need to unlock the zones where they appear to catch more.

    Where to Get Chespin

Once you reach Main Mission 6, you’ll gain access to some Side Missions, including Side Mission 7: A Feisty Chespin. You can find it between Rouge Sector 2 and Academie Etolie, where an angry Chespin stands next to a car. This mission doesn’t require going anywhere else; you simply battle Chespin multiple times until it gets tired and decides to join you. After that, it can evolve into Chesnaught.

    Where to Catch Wild Chespin:
You can find wild Chespin in Wild Zone 17. It spawns during the day and night, and if you don’t see any or accidentally defeat them, leave the area and reset to try again. Sometimes, you might find an Alpha Chespin if you’ve caught all the Pokémon in that zone.

Although Side Mission 7 unlocks Chespin early, it’s also available in Wild Zone 17 once that zone is unlocked. Since the mission is easy to complete, there’s little reason to wait unless you’re after a shiny or Alpha.

    Where to Get Fennekin

During Main Mission 6, you’ll also encounter Side Mission 8: Get Well, Fennekin. It’s found in Magenta Sector 2, near a woman named Blanche, who will be standing next to Fennekin. Interact with her to start the mission, which involves retrieving a Revitalizing Twig for Fennekin. Completing it awards you with Fennekin, money, and items. You can then fully evolve Fennekin into Delphox.

    Where to Catch Wild Fennekin:
Fennekin can also be caught in Wild Zone 18, which is available once you finish the side mission. It spawns during both day and night — if you don’t see any, reset the area to refresh the spawn. Sometimes, Alpha Fennekin may appear if you’ve caught all Pokémon in the zone.

    Where to Get Froakie

Froakie becomes available through Side Mission 9: A Challenge From Froakie, which you get east of Jaune Sector 8 along North Boulevard. There’s a Racine Construction worker here next to a platform with Froakie sitting on it. The challenge involves completing three platforming tasks within a time limit. If you succeed, you’ll be rewarded with Froakie.

    Where to Catch Wild Froakie:
You can find Froakie in Wild Zone 16, which is accessible after completing all three side missions. Froakie appears during both day and night, so you can hunt for a shiny or Alpha if you prefer. Reset the area if needed to find one, and keep in mind that all three wild zones unlock simultaneously with the missions.

All three Pokémon—the starters from Kalos—are unlocked through these side missions and wild zones at the same time, making it convenient to collect them all eventually.

How To Find And Evolve Froakie in Pokemon Legends: Z-A: Completing and Solving

In Pokemon Legends: Z-A, your starter selection includes three Pokémon not originally from the Kalos region. However, you can also obtain each of the starter Pokémon from Pokémon X and Y, including Froakie and its evolved form, Greninja. To do so, you will need to earn Froakie and prove yourself worthy, as Froakie and its construction worker friend challenge you first.

Fortunately, the steps to get Froakie are the most difficult part of the process for acquiring Greninja early in your game. Here’s how to find Froakie and evolve it into Greninja early on.

    Where To Find Froakie

Before you can locate Froakie, you must unlock Side Missions after talking with Emma. Then, head to the northeastern part of Lumiose City. From the Jaune Pokémon Center, go north along the outer ring, following the path until you see a construction worker named Surv standing next to scaffolding with Froakie.

Speak with Surv to learn about his side mission titled A Challenge From Froakie. Completing this challenge is necessary to recruit Froakie.

How To Complete A Challenge From Froakie

You must complete three obstacle courses to impress Froakie and move forward with your mission.

The first obstacle requires you to finish the course in less than 30 seconds. Once you complete it, Froakie and Surv will run off, signaling the next challenge.

The second course is slightly longer, requiring you to finish in under 40 seconds. Move quickly up the platforms and cautiously cross beams to avoid falling. Upon completion, Froakie will laugh and dash off again.

The final challenge is near the north area by the Rouge Pokémon Center, where Surv indicates there’s one last course. This one takes about 50 seconds to complete, giving you ample time.

To succeed, climb the ladder, then roll across the gap to the next scaffolding using the Y button. Carefully traverse the narrow beam, position yourself on the angled beam, and roll across to the next platform. Turn left and cling to the final platform, shimmy across, and reach Froakie to complete the challenge.

If you miss a step, restart the course, as it’s difficult to recover from mistakes later.

Upon finishing, you’ll be rewarded with:

    • Froakie at level 14
    • Three XS Candy
    • One S Candy
    • 1,800 Pokédollars

    Evolving Froakie into Greninja

Train Froakie up to level 16 to evolve it into Frogadier. Then, at level 36, Frogadier will evolve into Greninja.

Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour Guide: October 2024

    Overview of Spotlight Hours
Pokémon Go frequently hosts various events, offering players exclusive bonuses and special features for a limited time. Among these events are the Spotlight Hours, which last for 60 minutes and showcase a specific Pokémon along with enticing bonuses.

Spotlight Hours occur weekly and highlight a different Pokémon each time. This guide will provide weekly updates to keep you informed about the latest happenings surrounding the Pokémon Go Spotlight Hours.

    Updated Information
As of October 29, 2024, the last Spotlight Hour in October will feature two costumed Pokémon: Froakie and Rowlet, both dressed for Halloween. Here’s what you need to know about this special event, from timings to preparation tips.

    Spotlight Hour Date And Time

Be prepared for the upcoming Spotlight Hour on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time. This is a relatively brief window, so make sure you’re set up and logged in on time to enjoy the bonuses offered during this hour.

    Spotlight Hour Pokémon

This week’s Spotlight Hour will highlight Froakie and Rowlet, both wearing adorable Halloween costumes. Each of these Pokémon has two evolution stages. You’ll need 25 Candies to evolve each one to its second form and an additional 100 Candies for their final evolution.

Note: The costumed variations will retain their costumes even after evolving.

This Spotlight Hour is a fantastic opportunity to catch both Pokémon with high in-game stats. Though their stats vary, the increased encounters enhance your chances of finding one that is particularly strong.

    Spotlight Hour Bonuses

Each Spotlight Hour includes a unique bonus, and this week is no exception. You will earn twice the amount of Candy for catching any Pokémon. With the surge in Pokémon spawns during this event, you’ll have ample chances to gain a significant amount of Candy, which is essential for evolving and powering up different Pokémon.

To maximize this Candy bonus, try to position yourself in an area with many PokéStops. This will not only increase your encounters but also help you gather more Poké Balls and other useful items.

    Spawn Rates and Shiny Opportunities

During the Spotlight Hour, the spawn rates for the featured Pokémon will be significantly boosted. You can further enhance these rates by using Poké Stop Lures and Incense.

Tips: After using Incense, make sure to keep moving. This movement will maximize the effectiveness of the Incense, leading to even more Pokémon encounters.

You might also encounter the shiny versions of these costumed Pokémon during the event. Although the increased spawn rates offer a better chance of finding shiny Pokémon, bear in mind that their shiny odds are not boosted for this Spotlight Hour.

    Preparing for Spotlight Hours

Since the Spotlight Hour lasts for just one hour, being well-prepared is crucial. Ensure you have a good supply of Poké Balls before the event starts.
Additionally, check your Pokémon storage. Having enough space will enable you to catch the featured Pokémon without needing to transfer others mid-event.

With the bonus of double Candy for each catch, proper preparation is even more critical.

Note: You can increase your Pokémon Storage by purchasing an upgrade in the in-game shop for 200 PokéCoins, which adds 50 extra spaces.

For added benefits, Mega Evolving a Pokémon that aligns with either Froakie (Water-type) or Rowlet (Grass and Flying-type) during the Spotlight Hour will yield even more Candy when catching these Pokémon. This will also increase the chances of obtaining Candy XL, a vital resource for powering them up to their maximum potential.

    Final Thoughts
Ensure you’re well-equipped before the event kicks off, and enjoy the Halloween fun in Pokémon Go. Happy playing!
