The main activity during the Thaw Of Eons event is the Fortune Beyond Parlor mode. You can play alone or against three other players online. Solo play pairs you with three bots, but playing against real people tends to be more fun, since the game relies heavily on luck and strategy.
In this game, four players sit around a square table. Each gets five cards at the start. The deck contains 20 cards: five of each number from one to three, and five special cards. At the start of each round, the game randomly selects a “safe” number card—either one, two, or three—and displays it on the top-left of your screen. The special cards are always safe and can be played at any time, no matter what the safe card is.
The deck is then shuffled randomly among the players. The person who begins can play up to three cards. After their turn, other players can challenge them or play their own cards. If you are challenged:
– If all the cards you played are safe, the challenger must drink a bottle.
– If one or more of your cards are unsafe, you and all other players on the table have to drink.
Every player starts with four bottles, one of which contains poison. When challenged, the player who loses the challenge drinks a bottle at random. – Pay close attention to how long your opponents take to play their cards. If they rush to play three cards near the end of their turn, it’s likely that at least one of those cards is unsafe.
– You can estimate how many safe cards each player might have based on your own hand. If you hold three safe cards, only seven remain in the deck. This makes it less likely that your opponents have three safe cards remaining.
Getting familiar with these tactics can help you make smarter choices and increase your chances of winning, even though luck still plays a big role.
