How to Defeat Sylux in the Volt Forge: Completing Solving in Metroid Prime 4

With the release of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, players control bounty hunter Samus Aran as she explores an alien world, battling hostile wildlife, aggressive robots, and some familiar enemies. Longtime fans of the series may recall Sylux, a rival bounty hunter who first appeared back in 2004. Now, players will face off against him again in a significant boss battle in the Volt Forge, right after defeating the Flight Drone MCU. Here’s what you need to know to beat Sylux and survive his attacks.

    How To Defeat Sylux

Sylux is a very aggressive foe with quick, powerful attacks. His main moves include:

    Attack Description
Homing Missiles Sylux spawns six missiles, firing them in sets of three that track your position.
Energy Wave He leaps into the air and then slams down, creating a large energy wave you can jump over.
Melee Dash Sylux raises his arm and quickly dashes toward your last location, slashing in an arc.
Shooting He fires his cannon at you from both the ground and the air.
Energy Tornado When he’s down to 75% health, Sylux shields himself with an energy tornado, reflecting projectiles. He spins rapidly, trying to crash into you.
Energy Bombardment Sylux moves to the center and fires energy bombs in rings, with each wave expanding outward.

In the start of the fight, Sylux will mix and match these attacks—using homing missiles, energy waves, melee dashes, or shooting at you. To counter:

    • Homing Missiles can be dodged by dashing to either side just before they hit or destroyed using your weapons.
    • Energy Wave can be avoided by jumping over it.
    • Melee Dashes are best sidestepped as Sylux rushes toward you.

Focusing on avoiding damage and firing your weapons steadily is key, especially as you chip away at his health. When you do enough damage (around 75%), Sylux enters a second phase with new tactics.

Second Phase: Psychic Bombs and Defensive Shield

Once Sylux’s health drops below 75%, he will activate a shield that reflects projectiles. To disable it:

    • Scan his energy barrier, then transform into Morph Ball.
    • Move to any spot along the outer wall, then wait for Sylux to charge at you.
    • When he does, deploy three Psychic Bombs in a line and quickly move out of their way. If timed correctly, the bombs will detonate and hurt Sylux.

Tip: Sylux’s movements can be unpredictable, so timing the bombs involves some trial and error. Try to coax him into hitting the wall, which makes his movement more predictable and easier to anticipate.

Hitting Sylux After the Shield Breaks

After taking enough damage with Psychic Bombs, Sylux will stop spinning and fall to his knees. Quickly exit Morph Ball and fire rockets into him. He’ll then recover, ascending to the center of the map.

In the next phase, Sylux will either launch an Energy Wave or Energy Bombardment attack.

    • If he chooses Bombardment, this is your best chance to hurt him. His bombs at max range cannot reach you if you position yourself against the back wall. Keep firing rockets or missiles until he reaches about half health, then he’ll revert to Energy Tornado mode.

    • During the Energy Tornado, Sylux reflects projectiles with his shield and spins rapidly, attempting to hit you. Dodge his attacks until he slows down again.

    • Once out of tornado form, Sylux might add melee dash attacks to his arsenal, so stay alert and keep moving.

Continue damaging Sylux until his health depletes completely, which triggers a cutscene. As a reward, you’ll earn an Energy Tank and can proceed further in the Volt Forge.

  • All Magic Items in D&D Eberron – Forge of the Artificer, Ranked for Completing and Solving

All Magic Items in D&D Eberron – Forge of the Artificer, Ranked for Completing and Solving

Magic items in Dungeons & Dragons are always fun to discover. They can really turn the tide of a fight or enhance a roleplaying scene, and they come in many different types and strengths. Some magic items even craft entire stories and might have hidden costs for players who overlook their downsides.

Not all magic items are equally powerful. Still, even common or uncommon items at low levels are worth considering. While you probably won’t find major legendary items in Eberron: Forge of the Artificer, there are some interesting mid-tier options worth exploring.

    Tier List Explanation
The magic items are ranked based on how useful and unique they are. Items that can be used in tricky situations or replace other skills or abilities score higher.

    S Tier
These are the top-tier items that stand out for their usefulness and versatility.

    • Spell-Refueling Ring: This ring lets you regain spell slots without resting, using only a bonus action. It’s limited to once a day and only recovers spells of level three or lower, but it’s incredibly handy for staying versatile in the heat of battle.

    • Dazzling Weapon: A +1 weapon that not only improves attack and damage rolls but also has the ability to blind enemies on a failed Constitution save when they attack you. It sheds bright and dim light, making it great for both visibility and combat.

    • Repulsion Shield: Functions as a shield, increasing your AC by 1, and allows you to push back attackers as a reaction. It’s perfect for defending yourself against melee pressure or getting out of tight spots.

    • Mind Sharpener: Grants a free pass on a Constitution saving throw to maintain concentration on spells. It has four charges but helps keep critical spells active, ensuring your team’s survival.

    A Tier
These are solid, dependable magic items, especially for players leveling up.

    • Repeating Shot: A +1 ranged weapon that automatically replenishes its ammunition and grants a bonus to attack and damage rolls. Its main limitation is that it only works at range.

    • Boots of Winding Path: Allow you to teleport 15 feet as a bonus action, but only to a space you’ve already been. While useful, similar abilities like Misty Step from certain spells or races are slightly better, ranking these boots a bit lower.

    • Returning Weapon: A simple +1 weapon that improves attack and damage rolls. It can also magically recover a thrown weapon, adding flexibility to your combat style. Though not flashy, its practicality makes it a good choice.

    B Tier
Good starter items that you’re likely to find early in your adventures.

    • Manifold Tool: A versatile tool that can transform into any other tool you need. It’s great for roleplay or when tools are scarce. Keep in mind, proficiency can be granted by class features or other means.

    • Helm of Awareness: Gives advantage on initiative rolls, making sure you can act early in combat. However, this benefit can be obtained from other sources as well, so it’s not exceptional.

    Summary
These magic items—mainly common and uncommon—are useful enough to consider investing in, especially early on. They offer reliable buffs and practical benefits, though they may lack groundbreaking features that make them truly exceptional in high-level play.

  • Ranking Every New Artificer Subclass in D&D Eberron – Forge of the Artificer, Solving

Ranking Every New Artificer Subclass in D&D Eberron – Forge of the Artificer, Solving

When discussing the artificer in Dungeons & Dragons, they’ve had a noteworthy history in the fifth edition. They are absent from the 2024 Player’s Handbook but will make their return through their dedicated sourcebook, Eberron: Forge of the Artificer.

This new sourcebook is entirely centered on the artificer, unveiling fresh feats, backgrounds, bastion options, and a new spell. There are also subclasses for the artificer, including some revised options and new ones to consider if you’re interested in playing or rejoining the class. To assist with your choice, we’ve ranked all artificer subclasses in a tier list to determine which is the strongest.

    Tier List Explanation

While your subclass choice ultimately depends on your preferred playstyle and what you find fun, we’ve evaluated them based on factors like complexity, versatility, and how practical they are in a campaign. We’ve compared them to the updates made to other classes in the 2024 PHB to see how well they hold up.

    S Tier

These subclasses are versatile and fit well into any D&D party, complementing others as the essential, well-rounded member. They have enough unique actions and options to keep things interesting, even alongside some 2024 PHB subclasses.

    Artificer Armorer by John Grello

These subclasses offer enough diversity to serve different roles effectively. They may not be as flexible as others, but they certainly get the job done, making you a capable damage dealer and vital party role.

    Subclass Description
Alchemist The best part about the Alchemist is its broad functionality. It doesn’t specialize in just one area but covers many. Its Experimental Elixirs can grant flight, boost speed, improve AC, heal beyond a typical potion, or grant a bonus to saving throws. Adding 2d4 force damage to spells is a neat bonus.
Armorer Replaces the glass-cannon trope with a heavily armored spellcaster that doesn’t need high Strength. You can design armor to act as a front-line protector with concussion blasts and temporary hit points or create a demolishing dreadnought dealing force damage. Options include gaining a flying speed and extra attacks.

    A Tier

These subclasses are solid and follow a clear path, doing their jobs well. While they may not be as flexible as higher-tier options, they excel at damage output and fulfilling specific roles within the party.

    Battlesmith by Michael Broussard

    • If you enjoy ranger-like pets, the Battlesmith is a prime pick. Its Steel Defender has its own actions during your turn, making it more autonomous than a typical ranger pet. The subclass combines a mechanical pet with extra attack and spellcasting, offering lots of fun for those who like this playstyle.

    Artillerist

    • Known for its potent offensive capabilities, the Artillerist provides a lot of firepower. It has its own Eldritch Cannon that can be a Flamethrower, Force Ballista, or Protector. As you level up, you unlock additional cannons. Its downside is it offers a focused set of abilities, lacking the wider versatility seen in some other subclasses.

    B Tier

This subclass is very specialized, excelling at one thing but lacking in other areas. It’s not a bad choice; it simply doesn’t offer as much variety as the higher-tier options.

    Cartographer

    • The Cartographer feels more like a niche subclass, emphasizing map-making and teleportation expertise. While teleportation can be very useful, it doesn’t add much depth to the class overall. Its usefulness is situational, making it ideal for specific campaigns but less reliable in others.
  • Completing the Forge Guard Leveling Build in Last Epoch

Completing the Forge Guard Leveling Build in Last Epoch

The Forge Guard is one of the three Class Mastery choices available to the Sentinel in Last Epoch. This warrior, equipped with heavy armor and summoned Forged Weapons, offers a distinct gameplay experience focused on fire damage, minions, and throwing attacks—setting it apart from the other two Sentinel Masteries.

While it may not be as popular as the Paladin or Void Knight, the Forge Guard can become quite powerful when built correctly. If you’re aiming to progress smoothly through the campaign with this Mastery, you’re in the right place. Below, we’ll explore a beginner-friendly build for the Forge Guard.

    Build Overview

    Pros

    Cons

    • Easy to gear
    • Good area-of-effect damage
    • Tanky
    • Lower single-target damage

This build features two of the Forge Guard’s throwing skills: Hammer Throw and Shield Throw. These skills allow you to clear groups of enemies while maintaining high survivability through block chances and health recovery. Meanwhile, Smite and Symbols of Hope provide buffs and healing support, and Shield Rush enhances mobility and damage output.

The general playstyle involves using Shield Rush to maneuver between enemy groups and unleashing waves of hammers with Hammer Throw. The skill can initially be specialized to make the hammers orbit around you, later allowing them to be thrown out in waves, causing additional damage.

Shield Throw serves as a crucial single-target damage skill, compensating for Hammer Throw’s typical lack of effectiveness against individual foes. However, be aware that this build generally has lower single-target damage, requiring a bit more time to defeat bosses or tougher enemies. This shortcoming is offset by its impressive pack-clearing capabilities.

    Skills and Passive

Unlock Hammer Throw at level three, making it your main source of damage. In its Skill Specialization tree, first focus on unlocking the Catapult and Avatar of the Spire nodes to increase its effectiveness by allowing the hammers to spiral and hit multiple enemies. Iron Spiral and Hammer Vortex further enhance this by making the hammers orbit around you.

For the final node, Enra’s Technique, changes the hammers’ attack pattern, allowing them to be thrown out in a fan shape for greater damage dispersion.

Mana Starved Forging will enable you to cast Hammer Throw at no cost when you’re out of Mana.

Next, focus on Shield Rush as your next skill. Prioritize reducing its Mana cost through Rush Mastery and enhance its defensive capabilities with Protective Speed and Unstoppable Charge. Add points into Consuming Path and Warrior’s Entrance for increased damage.

Once you have the Forge Guard unlocked, move to specializing in Shield Throw. Unlock nodes like Siege Breaker, Defender’s Rage, Throwing Arm, and Colossus. Upgrade your Shield Throw with Aeroplates, Vampiric Steel, and Hemrin’s Technique to enhance survivability and damage through additional hits.

Next, focus on Smite for extra damage and health recovery. In Smite’s skill tree, start by boosting health regeneration with Soothing Balm after using the skill. Round off this tree with Righteous Fury and Righteous Flurry for added damage.

Finally, invest 15 points in the Paladin Passive Tree to unlock Symbols of Hope, which grants various buffs. Start by focusing on nodes like Iron Symbols and Meditation to maximize effectiveness.

    Passive Trees

This setup utilizes both the Forge Guard and Paladin passive trees, ensuring you have a minimum of 20 points in Sentinel. Begin with Juggernaut for a boost in Strength, then max out Armour Clad. Allocate points into Fearless and Stalwart to unlock Time and Faith and max out that node as well.

Once you’ve unlocked Forge Guard, start with three points in Steel Aegis and two in Weapons Master to unlock Shield Throw. You’ll then want to put 15 points into the Paladin tree to unlock Symbols of Hope.

In the Paladin tree, maximize Conviction and then add points into Defiance and Honor until you reach 15.

Back in the Forge Guard tree, target damage nodes like Fresh from the Forge, Siege Captain, Hammer and Anvil, and Might. Don’t forget to unlock Walls of Solarum for a significant defensive boost.

For resistances, consider investing a few points in the Abyssal Endurance passive from the Void Knight tree, which provides health and resistances at a low cost.

    Stats and Uniques

The Firestarter's Torch Unique Sceptre in Last Epoch.

This build is suitable for gearing, but a few unique items can significantly enhance performance. Given that Hammer Throw and Shield Throw are your key damaging skills, look for buffs to Throwing Damage and Throwing Attack Speed during your leveling process.

Furthermore, both Hammer Throw and Shield Throw benefit from Strength and Dexterity, so boosting these attributes will improve overall damage.

For survivability, remember to keep building up your resistances and health. Block Chance is also crucial for enhancing your defenses, particularly with the Walls of Solarum passive.

For Idols, aim for two Adorned Rahyeh Idols (the two-by-two type) featuring the Chance to Cast Smite on Hit with Throwing Attacks property. This will significantly boost your damage and health regeneration.

Additionally, use four Large Rahyeh Idols that focus on Throwing Critical Strike Multiplier and Chance to apply Shred Armor on Throwing Hit. While these are less essential than the Smite-triggering stats, they can still provide valuable damage increases.

Here’s how to prioritize offensive stats for this build:

    1. Throwing Damage
    2. Throwing Attack Speed
    3. Level of Hammer Throw
    4. Dextirity
    5. Strength
    6. Critical Strike Chance
    7. Critical Strike Multiplier

    And for defensive stats:

    1. Health
    2. Block Chance
    3. Endurance
    4. Resistances (focus on Physical for campaign)

    Uniques

This build is relatively easy to gear, but certain unique items can significantly enhance it and are obtainable early on.

Firestarter’s Torch drops as early as level one, making it a common find from early-game encounters. This Sceptre inflicts Spreading Flame with its hits, dealing considerable damage over time. It also lowers the Mana cost for Fire spells like Smite.

Bleeding Heart is another solid early-game Unique that aids with sustain until you unlock Smite. Other useful options include Thorn Slinger and Riverbend Grasp, which can enhance your throwing attacks.

If you manage to find Sigeon’s Reprisal, it can elevate your build to its full potential. This shield allows you to automatically use Shield Throw when hit and boosts its damage for every 10 Damage Reflected to Attackers stat you acquire.

Using Small Weaver Idols, you can stack this stat effectively, amplifying the damage from Shield Throw with relative ease. If you come across Sigeon’s Reprisal, focus on this stat to see Shield Throw decimate enemies throughout the campaign.

  • Crafting Aranka’s Sabre in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Guide

Crafting Aranka’s Sabre in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Guide

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 invites players into a detailed and vibrant world, filled with a wide range of missions, from complex side quests to crucial plot-driven tasks. Many of these missions necessitate strategic thinking, thorough exploration, and important choices that influence the game’s progression and endings. Throughout the adventure, players will assist locals, confront foes, and unravel various enigmas.

One notable quest is the Voivode’s Curse, where players must lift a curse placed upon the Voivode. To achieve this, they must craft a unique weapon and make challenging choices that will ultimately determine the quest’s direction.

How to Begin the Voivode’s Curse Quest

After you have finished the Miri Fajta side quest with the Voivode in the Nomad’s Camp located in the Trosky area, wait a few in-game days, then talk to Herbalist Aranka in the camp.

Inquire if she has any work for you, and she will reveal that the Voivode is under a curse. You’ll need to forge a special sabre to break it.

Henry, our brave protagonist, will gladly accept the task, initiating the Voivode’s Curse quest.

    How to Create the Sabre

The sabre you need to forge is called Rikonaris’ sabre, and you will receive the crafting recipe automatically, along with Charcoal Water.

To complete the forging process, you’ll need the following materials:

Head over to Tachov village and find a blacksmith there. Once you enter his shop, purchase all the necessary materials.

When you have everything you need, go to the anvil and select Rikonaris’ sabre to begin the forging process.

This process is similar to any sword forging. You will temper the metal, hammer it, and continue until Henry indicates that it’s complete.

How to Finish the Voivode’s Curse Quest

Player is looking at Aranka - kcd2

However, simply forging the sabre is not enough for Aranka, as she will ask you to use it to kill a dog.

The idea of harming a dog is not pleasant, so instead, return to the Nomad’s camp and talk to Aranka at her usual place. Hand over the sabre and tell her that you’ve already killed a dog.

She will accept your story without question, allowing you to proceed with the quest.

Once the conversation concludes, the Voivode’s Curse quest will be complete, and you will be rewarded with the Vagrant Hat and some Groschen.

  • Building the Epic Forge in Lego Fortnite Odyssey: A Guide

Building the Epic Forge in Lego Fortnite Odyssey: A Guide

Lego Fortnite Odyssey features an expansive world with ten distinct biomes, numerous hostile enemies, and friendly creatures, offering plenty of resources for players to gather. It’s clear that tools like pickaxes and swords are essential in the game, so why not ensure they’re the best they can be?

The Legendary Forge serves as a crafting station that upgrades your Mythic tools to Legendary status, greatly enhancing their abilities. While the path to creating these Legendary tools can be challenging, the rewards are definitely worthwhile.

    Crafting the Legendary Forge

To craft the Legendary Forge, you’ll need four different materials:

While rubies can be found in the Dry Valley and iron in the Frostlands, the Rift Crystals and Shards may require a bit more effort to obtain.

Rift Crystals can be collected from a few key sources, including Storm Dungeons, Storm Enemies, and Raven’s Hideout. You can find Rift Crystals in the chests within Storm Dungeons and from the foes around these areas. Additionally, defeating Raven and opening the chest afterward may yield some Rift Crystals.

Rift Shards are primarily dropped by Golems, formidable enemies located on the Lost Isles. Be cautious, as they can be quite dangerous if you’re not well-prepared.

Rift Shards may also drop as a rare reward when you feed Mama Klombo Klomberries on the Lost Isle, but this is uncommon.

    Using the Legendary Forge

After acquiring your Legendary Forge, the upgrade process is straightforward. Just take any Epic tool to the forge and select which one you want to upgrade, which will cost three Rift Crystals for each upgrade. However, once upgraded, the tool will not yet be legendary; there’s one more step to complete.

    Transforming a Tool into Legendary

To transform your upgraded tool into a Legendary one, you’ll need to use the item a specific number of times in order to fill the progress bar that appears at the bottom, replacing the durability bar. This process can take quite some time, so be ready for some effort. Once you have filled the bar, the tool will automatically upgrade to Legendary.
