All Relics in Foraken Hollows & How to Get Them in Elden Ring

The first expansion of Elden Ring: Nightreign, The Forsaken Hollows, added new bosses, characters, a fresh map with multiple routes, and other features. One important addition is relics—items you equip before adventures to gain special buffs and passive effects.

To unlock these relics, players need to complete specific side quests for certain characters and defeat the new Nightlords. Here’s a guide to each relic, what it does, and how to add it to your inventory in Elden Ring: Nightreign.

    Every New Boss Relic

The bosses in Forsaken Hollows each have unique relics that can be used with any playable character.

Relic Name Color How to Get Effect
The Will of the Balancers Blue Defeat the boss Weapon-Bequeathed Harmonia, the Nightlord of the Balancers’ expedition. Tips for the fight are available. Increases melee attack power, skill attack power, and provides continuous FP recovery.
The Will of Balance Red Defeat the tougher, Dark version of Weapon-Bequeathed Harmonia after completing the Balancers at least once. It becomes available at the Collector Signboard for 12 Sovereign Sigils. Boosts melee and skill attack power, and can sometimes nullify attacks when damage negation is low.
The Night of Dregs Red Defeat Traitorous Straighees at the end of Dreglord’s expedition. A guide is available for help. Increases attack power as status ailment gauges rise, inflicts Rot when damaged, and causes continuous HP recovery nearby due to Rot.

You can equip both Balancers’ relics simultaneously to stack their effects.

    Every New Character Relic

Similarly, specific relics are associated with new characters like the Scholar and the Undertaker.

Relic Name Color How to Get Effect
Leather Monocle Case Blue Complete Chapter 3 in the Undertaker’s Remembrance side quest. A full guide is available for this quest. Boosts physical attacks while an assist effect from an incantation is active, extends spell duration, and increases physical attack by +2.
Glass Necklace Green Defeat Heolstor, the final Nightlord of the Night Aspect expedition, with the Undertaker. Afterward, drop a Dismembered Finger from your inventory and interact with the corpse at the Roundtable. Activating Ultimate Art increases attack power, successive attacks boost it further, and auto charge of Ultimate Art is +3.
Grand Tranquil Scene Green Spend 1,000 Murk at the Small Bazaar Jar. Increase attack power by landing the final blow of a chain attack.
Grand Drizzly Scene Blue Obtain it for 3 Sovereign Sigils at the Collector Signboard. Improves Dexterity, reduces Vigor and Faith, with +3 Vigor and Dexterity.

Grand Luminous Scene Yellow Same as above. Improves Endurance and Dexterity by +3, decreases Intelligence and Arcane.
  • How to Find and Completing All Shrines in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

How to Find and Completing All Shrines in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, having a place to rest is crucial for both your character and your progress. Shrines often provide a break from the dangerous land filled with deadly traps and fierce enemies. Finding all of them ensures you’re prepared for each challenge.

However, not every shrine is a safe spot. It’s important to distinguish between genuine shrines and false ones. Finishing a dungeon and then triggering a possessed shrine can be frustrating. Luckily, we’ve discovered all the shrines so you won’t get caught off guard.

What Can I Do at Shrines?

Although the main purpose of shrines is to rest and heal, they offer many other benefits, some more important than others.

    At any shrine, you can:

    • Enter Dreams: Rest and reset your location.
    • Tempering: Change the needles that apply temporary effects to your weapons.
    • Benedictions: Check and modify passive effects on your weapons.
    • Invoke: Exchange your sanity for rare items, which can increase Madness.
    • Warehouse: Store or retrieve items like DLC clothing.
    • Discipline: Swap out unique Discipline skills on your weapons learned from the Impetus Repository.
    • Impetus Repository: Level up and unlock new skills.
    • Teleport: Travel between locations, which also resets map areas.

Note: Resetting a location respawns enemies except minibosses, bosses, and Inner Demons. Only Enter Dreams and Teleport keep enemies from respawning, making them safe options for leveling or interacting with shrines.

    All Shrine Locations

To earn the Radiant Faith achievement/trophy for discovering all 50 shrines and offering Blood at each, you need to find every shrine. Most are along the main path or after defeating bosses. Beware, some shrines are impostors; they appear as safe but will attack you.

Impostor shrines are marked with the tag “Interact” instead of “Offer Blood” and are vulnerable to fire damage. Defeat these impostors in combat before interacting with them.

Below is a list of shrine locations, and whether they require defeating a hostile impostor first:

    Act One Shrines

    • Reverent Temple: Outside the starting temple, on the right after descending stairs.
    • Buddha Cliffs: At the top of the wooden walkway in the Buddha Cliffs area.
    • Lightzen Temple: Outside the courtyard, on the left side, near Wu Gang.
    • Shu Sanctum: Inside on the ground floor, to the right of the stairs, opposite where Nian Suichang starts.
    • Annalum: Up the road from Shu Sanctum, past the torch demon miniboss.
    • Mercury Workshop: After defeating Lu Bingzhang, use the Shu Sanctum key on the altar. Basement access through stairs.
    • Bandit Cave: Inside Mercury Workshop’s lower area, just above the Blightweaver.
    • Doomwillow Beach: After defeating the boss Blightweaver, on the left side of the first open area, where it attacks.
    • Lu Mansion: Via stairs at Doomwillow Beach, top of the hill, accessible from the rightmost path.
    • Corpse Pits: After defeating Soulwood.
    • Palace Hill: Behind the Tang Emperor’s palace, on the roof path.
    • Lotus Pond: After Honglan, teleport back and run to it; unlocking this grants the trophy immediately in NG+.

Some shrines require defeating enemies or bosses; others are safe to access freely.

    Act Two Shrines

    • Hillswatch: At the foot of the hillside after unlocking the Cloudspire at Reverent Temple.
    • Snowy Passage: Inside the cave between Hillwatch and Cloudspire Outskirts.
    • Cloudspire Outskirts: At the base of the first pyre tower and near a shortcut gate.
    • Rebel Camp: Via the shortcut from Cloudspire Outskirts, climbing the hill and using the ladder.
    • Mort Grotto: Two methods— from Snowy Passage via a cave or bypassing it, climbing a ledge near tents.
    • Snowpeak Pass: After defeating Liu Cheng’en.
    • Cloudspire City: At the dead end of the street after Snowpeak Pass.
    • Snowfall Palace: Post-Cloudspire City, falling from the rooftops outside.
    • Treasure Trove: After Huang Yan, via elevator in Snowfall Palace.
    • Shaft Entrance: Along the path in the Treasure Trove area, near Fang Yao.
    • Bride’s Boudoir: Completing the Shaft area or shortcut by boulders.
    • Wedding Hall: After Fang Ling’s defeat.

    Act Three Shrines

    • Avian Marsh: Hidden inside a wooden shack under a log or accessed through the Refugee Camp.
    • Mt. Zhenwu Antechamber: At the top of stairs entering Mt. Zhenwu Temple.
    • Pavilion of Knowledge: Midway between bosses in the temple, inside a cavern.
    • Altar Gate: Outside the Fierce Tiger boss arena at the top of Mt. Zhenwu.
    • Zhenwu Altar: After defeating Fierce Tiger.
    • Ferry Overlook: At the end of the Bamboo Path, post-Fierce Tiger.
    • Bai Mansion: Using the boat from Bai Mansion, to the left upon entry.
    • Rivulet: Post-Bai Kru fight, at the mansion.

    Act Four Shrines

    • Annalum: On the main story path after Fierce Tiger, entered through the Storyteller.
    • Shu Sanctum: From Annalum, cross the bridge and descend stairs.
    • Annalum Courtyard: By going up the hill past enemies, using the invisible bridge, or passing Nian Suichang’s quest.
    • Palace Vegetable Garden: From Shu Sanctum, head down the wooden path to the palace.
    • Palace Pass: Down into the Lotus Pond, then across cliffs, through caves, and to a fort.
    • Palace Entrance: After Palace Pass, fighting Honglan, then teleporting.
    • Bo Shrine: After defeating Bo Magus.
    • Reverent Temple: Same as in Act One, outside the temple.
    • Burning Cavern: Inside the cave at the start area.

    Act Five Shrines

    • Depths of the Capital: Proceed through Bo Capital and take the elevator shortcut; cross hill to find it.
    • Shrine Dwelling: Interact with the door on the left of the Depths shrine, select “The Wheel Turns Anew.”
    • Forbidden Lands: Cross the bone bridge and solve the ladder puzzle to access.
    • Gate of Truth: After defeating the final boss, in the cave at the top of the stairs leading to the shrine.

Each shrine’s tag indicates if it’s genuine (“Offer Blood”) or impostor (“Interact”). Impostors can be defeated in combat; they are weak to fire.

By exploring all these locations and interacting or defeating impostors as needed, you’ll unlock every shrine and earn the achievement for your exploration efforts.

    2

    Doomwillow Beach
Reach this area by either using the elevator near Lu Mansion or progressing from the Doomwillow Beach shrine. Walk down the narrow side path alongside the stream of monsters and climb the hill, ignoring the second drummer, and ascend the ladder.

Then, go through the region with the possessed trees, knock down the shortcut to the pyre with the Red Clad Lady (if she hasn’t moved). Descend the path, and at the bottom, turn left twice to find the chest. Watch out for the hidden coffin enemy that drops from above.

    3

    Cloudspire Outskirts
Progress through Cloudspire City until you reach the rooftop area, where you can fight an Abductor and drop a ladder to the street. Just before entering Snowfall Palace, descend the rooftops and enter a house guarded by two men. Do not exit; instead, look behind the house for stairs leading down. Take the second set of stairs to find a chest guarded by a Ming warrior at the bottom.

    5

    The Shaft
Enter The Shaft from its main entrance and find the hole in the wall near the swinging pendulum. Drop down onto the wooden walkway, move past traps and enemies, and discover a broken wall. Drop through the hole and proceed to the end of the area to find the chest next to a ladder, guarded by a Ming warrior. Along the way, you’ll find the Bamboo Shoot and Wu Gang’s upgrade item, protected by a tick monster.

You may also find this Forgotten Remembrance during normal exploration next to the Shaft shortcut door.

The image shows The Shaft with the chest highlighted.

    6

    Avian Dwelling
Defeat the Bo Sorcerer to access the Avian Dwelling. Cross the bridge and progress through the marsh until reaching a wooden chamber with a Ming warrior. Continue along the main path, defeating the flag sorcerer encountered along the way.

In the same room as the sorcerer, equip gear suited for fighting Despair, and look for a hole in the wall inside the chamber. Drop down the ledge and sprint down the cliffs to reach the Despair sorcerer in the central chamber.

The image displays the Avian Dwelling environment with the chest location.

    7

    Zhenwu Antechamber
Proceed through the Zhenwu area after defeating Liu Wenxiu. Move down the steps from the shrine and take the first left to enter the building. Continue beyond the bridge with cannons and flag sorcerers. In the third building at the back, guard by a torch demon, find the chest in the corner to the left.

The image shows the Zhenwu Antechamber with the chest in the background.

    8

    Zhenwu Temple
From the main exit of Shu Sanctum on the ground level, spot a giant avian enemy—ignore it and cross the invisible bridge toward the main town. Continue straight, destroy the wooden wheelbarrow, and reach the building at the top of the hill above the loitering bird. Inside, defeat Vermillion Feathers, then descend the hill, pass a strong enemy sitting on the ground, and take the ladder down. At the bottom, take a left, then two more lefts to find the hidden chest tucked away in a cozy nook.

The image shows the Zhenwu Temple with the chest tucked in a hidden corner.

    9

Shu Sanctum (Worship’s Rise in Ruins)
From the main Shu Sanctum, go outside on the second floor towards Annalum. Cross the bridge, turn right, and climb the hill. Face Nian Suichang; if aggressive, defeat him. Then, continue to the invisible bridge marked by yellow spirits behind the carved statue. Crossing over leads to a courtyard with a false shrine; avoid fighting it now, and instead, look to the right of the house nearby to find a yellow chest with the Remembrance.

The image depicts the courtyard and the invisible bridge near Shu Sanctum.

    10

    Worship’s Rise in Ruins
Start at the Worship’s Rise shrine. Proceed along the main path, passing the wooden wheelbarrow, to reach a building behind the first shrine. Climb the hill to face the guardian enemy, then descend via the wooden walkway. Follow the path, pass the enemies, and find a ladder to go up. At the top, drop down the ledge, turn left, then left again to find a hidden chest in a cozy nook.

The image depicts the rise with the ladder and the hidden chest location.

    11

    Palace Entrance
From the Palace Entrance shrine, defeat Vermillion Feathers, then head downhill from the shrine, following the wooden walkway, and turn left off the ledge. Wrap around the building, passing a nearby enemy, and take the ladder down. From the bottom, turn left, then two more lefts to find a concealed chest in a small nook.

The image shows the palace exterior, highlighting the nook where the chest is hidden.

    12

    Bo Capital
From the Bo Capital, activate the shortcut elevator at the area’s top. Ride down, then run past the fighting enemies, and turn left to reach the Depths of the Capital Shrine (adjacent to the door for the Demon of Obsession boss). From there, return to the main area, and turn left. The final chest is ahead but guarded by a Red Mercury Avian miniboss; defeat it to access the hidden loot.

  • Getting the Serpent Fang in Wuchang: Falling Feathers and Completing Quests

Getting the Serpent Fang in Wuchang: Falling Feathers and Completing Quests

There are very few side quests in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers where you might want to intentionally fail, but Li Dingguo’s quest could be one of those rare cases. Depending on what item you want to obtain, failing this sidequest might actually lead to a bigger reward. However, are you willing to accept the moral question that comes with deliberately messing up?

No matter what decision you make, Li Dingguo’s quest often forces you to fail because of its obscure and optional requirements. Following each step carefully is crucial to determining his ultimate fate. Will you take everything from him or choose to save a life?

How to Start Li Dingguo’s Quest: How to Find the First Secret Letter

When you enter Act Two for the first time, you’ll discover Hillswatch. Climb the hill up to the large gate leading to a bridge (before reaching Clouspire Outskirts). There, you’ll find Li Dingguo with Sun Kewang behind the gate, drinking Kong Wine. Talk to both of them and exhaust their dialogue options to receive:

    • 3 bottles of Kong Wine
    • 3 bowls of Spicy Soup

(Note: Li Dingguo is called Li Dingo at Hillswatch in the game, but his name is Li Dingguo everywhere else. Most likely, this is a translation mistake, so we’ll call him Li Dingguo here.)

Next, continue through Cloudspire Outskirts until you can reach Ai Nengqi. Near his arena is the Rebel Camp Shrine. Close to the shrine, you’ll need to defeat a strong bandit lurking nearby; he holds a key needed for Nengqi and the first Secret Letter. Defeating Ai Nengqi will advance Li Dingguo to his next location.

How to Find Li Dingguo and the Second Secret Letter

Before searching for Li Dingguo, it’s helpful to find an associated item first. Start from the Avian Marsh Shrine, then:

    1. Leave the shack and immediately turn right.
    2. Follow the stream straight until you spot an embankment on the right.
    3. At the corpse, turn left into a short cave (watch out for the clam!).
    4. After dropping down from the cave ledge, turn left at the fork.
    5. Proceed straight along a sloping hill path and make a 180-degree turn to climb.
    6. Keep going straight, passing the bird in the pool, then follow the winding root.
    7. Eventually, the path leads to a den guarded by two birds. The Secret Letter is in the nest on the right, likely requiring defeating both enemies to grab it safely.

(If you previously opened the ladder shortcut near the shrine, you can start from step six to save time.)

Once you have the Secret Letter, go to the Zhenwu Antechamber where Li Dingguo sits on the left side of the shrine. Talk to him, exhaust his dialogue (which will be twice), then decide whether to give him the Secret Letter or not. Your choice here affects what happens next.

How to Obtain the Serpent Fang

Keep playing normally until you defeat Fierce Tiger. Then, head down a cave path where the Storyteller is seated. Ignore the Storyteller and go through the cave to reach Ferry Overlook. What occurs here depends on your previous decision.

    • If you gave Li Dingguo the Secret Letter, he will know about a traitor in the rebels. As a result, Li Dingguo and Sun Kewang will leave peacefully after you talk to them thoroughly. After resting and returning, you’ll find Serpent Fang lying on the ground where Li Dingguo was—this is the more peaceful, positive ending that avoids a tough fight.

    • If you did not give him the letter, Li Dingguo becomes hostile at Ferry Overlook. To confront him:

      1. Find the boatman at the docks.
      2. Behind him, locate a sandy path leading into a cave.
      3. Li Dingguo will invade as you step inside.

Defeating Li Dingguo in this fight grants you the Serpent’s Fang and also rewards you with a Lustrous Red Feather, a rare item that can max out your weapon’s power.

    Additional Tips

    • To locate the second Secret Letter efficiently, you can shorten the trip if you’ve previously unlocked the ladder shortcut near the shrine; start from the later step for faster access.
    • Deciding not to give the Secret Letter will cause Li Dingguo to become aggressive. In that case, engage him by heading to the docks, then into the cave beyond to confront him directly.

This choice significantly impacts the ending and the items you acquire, influencing how your journey concludes.

  • How to Deflect in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers Quest

How to Deflect in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers Quest

    Combat in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

The fighting system in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers depends a lot on what the player chooses to do. If you want to imitate characters like Sekiro or Ongbal, you can. However, the game doesn’t explain blocking and parrying right away, and these options aren’t available from the start for most weapons.

You will need to invest points into research to unlock these mechanics, which are also limited to specific weapons. Wuchang adds complexity and unique features that take time and practice to learn. You’ll need to read carefully and experiment to master these fighting options.

    How To Block And Parry

Blocking is not immediately available from the beginning, and it’s only for certain weapons. Specifically, blocking is only for axes, longswords, and in one case, dual blades.

To unlock blocking or parrying, you need to invest in these skills in the Impetus Repository:

    • Block — for axes, reduces damage taken significantly.
    • Sword Counter — for longswords, blocks and deflects damage at the right moment.

Note: You can also unlock the ability to block with the Two Bandits dual blades, found in the Rebel Camp area, inside a chest behind a red-eyed Ming guard with a fire-shrapnel axe.

How To Use the Block Skill

Once you upgrade the block skill, it becomes a Discipline that you can add to your weapon. To do this:

    • Pray at a shrine.
    • Select Discipline in the bottom left corner.
    • Choose the weapon you’re adding the Discipline to.

Use the right trigger (LT/L2/Shift+Right Mouse) to activate the Discipline, which only changes the Discipline skill. The basic Weapon Skill (LB/L1 or Shift+Left Mouse) remains linked to the weapon itself and can’t be changed.

Important: Since the Two Bandits dual blades are a weapon skill and not a Discipline, this skill cannot be changed and will always activate with the Weapon Skill trigger.

How To Upgrade Blocking And Parrying

Player learns the Sword Counter Variant II in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Some skills can improve your blocking and parrying abilities. These include:

    Name Weapon Type Effect
Block Variant Axes Greatly reduces damage when blocking.
Steel Edge Dual Blades Using the Twin-Bandits’ block skill makes enemies Vulnerable.
Sword Counter – Variant I Longsword Blocking causes enemy Vulnerability.
Sword Counter – Variant II Longsword Parrying can lead to a counter-attack.

Tip: Using the Two Bandits dual blades, you can unlock Block by searching behind a fire-shrapnel axe in the Rebel Camp area, inside a chest guarded by a Ming guard.

    Using the Block Skill

Player inserts the Sword Counter Discipline on their longsword in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

When you have the block skill equipped:

    • You can hold down the block key for as long as you have stamina, blocking every incoming attack.
    • Parrying is performed by pressing the block key exactly when you see an attack coming.

How To Improve Blocking and Parrying

Player learns advanced blocking skills in Wuchang.

Some skills can enhance your blocking and parrying, making them more effective:

    Name Weapon Type Effect
Block Variant Axes Uses less stamina when blocking.
Steel Edge Dual Blades Using the Twin-Bandits’ block skill inflicts Vulnerability on enemies.
Sword Counter – Variant I Longsword Blocking inflicts Vulnerability.
Sword Counter – Variant II Longsword Parrying can be followed by a counterattack.
Steel Resolve Skyborn Might Deflecting builds up Skyborn Might.

    What Is Clashing?

Pop-up tutorial explaining Clashing in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Clashing is a mechanic that combines blocking with precise timing for parrying. Instead of being a skill you activate, you perform a Clash by attacking at the same time as an enemy.

When you and an enemy hit simultaneously, most of the damage can be canceled or greatly reduced. Clashing is available for all types of weapons, but each weapon category has its own specific skills that unlock this ability.

    Skills that enable Clashing include:

    Name Weapon Type Effect
Axe & Hook Axes Charged attacks gain Clash.
Chop & Weave Axes Most attacks gain Clash.
Blade Dance – Variant I Dual Blades Blade Dance gains Clash to negate damage.
Blademaster Dual Blades Enables Clashing during the skill; recovers some health when successful.
Deadly Shadow Dual Blades Dash attacks can Clash, gaining Skyborn Might each time.
Feather Chaser Dual Blades Most attacks can Clash.
Leaf-Slasher Dual Blades Fourth to Sixth Light Combo attacks can Clash and grant Skyborn Might.
Sudden Strike – Variant I Dual Blades Gains Clash and Skyborn Might on success.
Wave Breaker Dual Blades Heavy and charged attacks gain Clash and Skyborn Might.
Whirling Flurry – Variant I Dual Blades Has Clash; grants Skyborn Might.
Spear Flurry Spears Can gain Clash with certain skills.
Swift Lunge – Variant II One-Handed Swords Adds a second Clash-capable attack.
Sword Savant Longsword Third attack of a Light Combo gains Clash.
  • How to Unlock More Tempering Needles in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

How to Unlock More Tempering Needles in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

    What Is Tempering?

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Tempering is a special system that allows you to temporarily strengthen your weapon with unique effects while increasing its damage. You have a limited number of charges for Tempering, but these charges refill each time you die or visit a shrine and enter the Dream. It’s best to assign Tempering to a quick slot so you can activate it quickly during intense moments without needing to open your menu.

Note that Tempering only affects the weapon you activate it on. It doesn’t apply to both weapons at the same time.

Every Type Of Tempering Needle And What It Does

All weapons can use Tempering, but some are only compatible with certain effects. If a weapon has no elemental or status effects, it can use any Bone Needle. If it deals a specific damage type—like Flamebringer’s Fire damage—it can only be Tempered with a Bone Needle of the matching type. For example, Flamebringer can be Tempered with a Fire Bone Needle to ignite it in fire.

Some weapons work differently. For instance, Plumed Grace deals Feathering damage but can be Tempered with Feathering, Poise Break, or Spellpower needles. You can see if a weapon supports a specific effect by checking in the Tempering menu.

Additionally, certain weapons boost specific Tempering effects’ potency or duration, making them more effective.

At the start, you only have one Tempering charge, but you can upgrade to up to three in the Impetus Repository. Only one Bone Needle can be equipped at a time and only in the Yangchi Acupoint. Other Stone Needles can be equipped freely in any combination.

Every Type Of Tempering Needle And What It Does

Needles are grouped by categories, each providing different effects, and multiple options are available in each category:

    • Bone Needles: For the Yanchi Acupoint, add elemental or status effects and boost damage. Types include Fire, Lightning, Frostbite, Corruption, Blight, Poise Break, Arcane, Magic, Leech, and Feathering.
    • Shadow/Gleaming Stone Needles: Increase damage scaling based on the weapon’s Control multiplier. Types include Strength, Agility, Feathering, Magic.
    • Plumed Stone Needle: Increases overall attack boost from Tempering. Only one can be used.
    • Root Stone Needle: Enhances the status build-up from your Bone Needle. Only one can be used.
    • Everlight Stone Needle: Extends how long Tempering effects last. Only one can be used.

Remember, the damage bonuses from Stone Needles only activate when you use Tempering, not passively.

How To Unlock More Tempering Needles

    Defeating Manifested Inner Demons

To unlock additional Stone Needles, you need to find and defeat your Inner Demon. This demon manifests naturally in specific areas. When you are in one of these spots, the screen will pulse red and display “Demon Manifested.” Defeating the demon here grants you a bottle of Bo Blood and a new Stone Needle. The Needle you receive is unique to each encounter. In New Game+ runs, defeating the same demon again will reward a stronger version called a Gleaming Stone Needle, which increases the effect’s power.

Fighting these Inner Demons can also reset your Madness level to zero, and you can face them regardless of your current Madness status.

Obtaining Needles at the Impetus Repository

The process for acquiring Bone Needles with special effects is straightforward and unmissable. All Bone Needles are located in the Impetus Repository, requiring only a single Red Mercury Essence to unlock. They are divided into two sections, with a passive ability that must be unlocked first. Because you can refund Red Mercury Essence at any time, it’s wise to only unlock Bone Needles as needed and then refund once they’ve served their purpose, putting the essence into other upgrades instead.

How To Unlock More Tempering Needle Slots

    Unlocking Additional Acupoints

Initially, only two Acupoints are available: the Yangchi Acupoint for Bone Needles and the Huizhong Acupoint for Stone Needles. You’ll want more slots for better versatility. To unlock the others, you can simply access them through the Impetus Repository. The Tianjing and Xiaoluo Acupoints are unlocked this way.

The Jialiao Acupoint, however, requires owning the Cyan Feather Chisel. To get the Chisel, you need to defeat Zhao Yun at the Tomb in the Avian Dwelling after completing the White-Robed Elder questline and reaching the Bo Capital, an endgame location. Returning to the Tomb and defeating Zhao Yun grants you the Cyan Feather Chisel, allowing you to unlock the Jialiao Acupoint and maximize your Tempering potential.

How to Beat the Reborn in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers

    Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Story Summary

The story of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is full of surprises. It covers events like the fall of the Ming Dynasty, legends of the Bo people, the unfair treatment of women, and more. The game doesn’t stick to just one focus but shows how the Feathering problem spreads across the land. All of this revolves around one man – the last emperor of the Ming Dynasty.

In the game, Zhu Youjian, who fought behind the sealed Burning Cave where Wuchang first woke up, wants to rebuild the Ming Dynasty’s power before it collapses completely. However, it’s uncertain if he truly is the last Emperor or just a revived version of him. Still, Wuchang must find a way to defeat him.

    Preparation for the Dragon Emperor

Before you go into battle against the Reborn, make sure your equipment is just right. The Reborn mostly attacks with physical damage, but the Dragon Emperor uses a mix of physical, magic, and Feathering attacks. It’s important to build resistance to these types. Fortunately, there are no status effects to worry about.

For your gear, equip Fire Tempering and spells that cause Burn. It’s best to use defensive spells since most offensive spells won’t work well against the Dragon Emperor.

    Images

    Dragon Emperor’s Strengths and Weaknesses

Both the Reborn and the Dragon Emperor are weak to fire and burn damage. Exploiting this can give you a big advantage. Aside from that, there isn’t much to find to your benefit. You’ll need to learn how to dodge their attacks and find openings to strike. Luckily, neither of their health bars are very large, so they can be defeated fairly quickly.

    Images

The reborn surrounded by a cracked red floor in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Remember, the biggest weakness for both the Reborn and the Dragon Emperor is their poor response to fire and burn. Use this to your advantage every time.

Other than that, your best strategy is to dodge their attacks and wait for the right moments to attack. Neither of them has huge health pools, so defeating them won’t take too long.

Dragon Emperor – Zhu Youjian’s Moveset

    Phase One — The Reborn

    Attack Description Counter
Large Slam The Reborn jumps and slams down on you. Try to dodge just before it lands. Sometimes, it slightly changes direction, so watch carefully.
Roar The Reborn roars, making you flinch. You can equip a Pendant to avoid flinching or dodge through the roar to get close for attacks.
Tail Whip The Reborn swings its tail at medium range. This attack is easy to dodge, but it has a long reach, so dodge even if you think it won’t reach you.
Ground Uplift The Reborn cracks the ice by slamming its claw, causing damage along its length. It may follow up with an explosion of the uplifted ice. Watch out for a faster attack. Dodge away after the initial slam if you’re standing on the ice.
Heavy Claw Slam The Reborn chases you and slams with its claws multiple times. Dodge into the attack to get close, but beware of follow-up moves like the Spinning Swipe.
Swipes Quick slashes in front of it, usually two in a row. Dodge normally to avoid.
Blood Rain It summons and crushes a vessel to make blood rain. Simply dodge right after the vessel is crushed to avoid the blood rain.
Powerful Punch Reels back and punches, causing big damage and knocking you back. Stay close and try to attack from the side. Learn the timing to avoid it more easily.
Spinning Swipe After some moves, it spins and slashes, then retreats quickly. Dodge again right after a regular swipe to avoid this faster attack.

Phase Two — The Dragon Emperor

    Attack Description Counter
Supernova It teleports far away, summons a supernova that descends and explodes, creating a black hole. Move towards it as it descends. Dodge just before it hits the ground and also when the black hole explodes.
Blood Waves It shoots up to three blood waves from its sword, usually after Supernova or Icebergs. Dodge these easily, but watch for delays in their timing.
Ground Stab and Rising Spears It stabs the ground and causes spears to rise all around. Dodge at the last second. Use this moment to get behind it.
Sword Slashes Usually two quick slashes, possibly followed by a ground attack. Most can be deflected, but dodging may be safer.
Magic Orb Arc Swings its magic orb in a wide arc, creating mist that explodes after a few seconds. Stay close to avoid getting hit by the mist.
Sword Slam Slams the ground after a series of sword slashes. Dodge this attack; it can be deflected but dodging gets you closer for damage.
Sword Forward Stab Stabs diagonally, causing damage and cascading effects from the impact point. Dodge at the last second to avoid the after-effects. Use this opportunity to sneak behind it.
HP Vortex Summons a vortex that drains health from everything inside it and transfers it to itself. Heal and keep attacking. Stay within the vortex if you summoned NPCs, as they won’t leave it.
Roar After the vortex, it roars to flinch you and then teleports away. Dodge to avoid being flinched, saving time for attacks.
Icebergs Throws chunks of ice after teleporting away. Keep moving forward while avoiding ice chunks.
Stomp Stomps in front of itself, sometimes followed by sword attacks or magic. Dodge even if behind, as it has a small area of effect.

Each phase is quite different, with the second turning into a much more magic-focused fight. Both phases have separate health bars, so you’re effectively fighting two bosses at once.

How to Beat the Dragon Emperor – Zhu Youjian

    The Battle

Start by noting that the Reborn’s attacks can hit unexpectedly wide. It’s safest to assume you are always in danger and dodge any attack you see coming.

They are also very weak to fire and burn damage. Use the Burning Flames Spell and equip Fire Tempering to maximize your damage. Since they are quite fragile, quick attacks can help reduce their health fast.

You can summon an NPC helper during this fight, but only in the first phase. During the second phase, helpers won’t be available.

The second phase is entirely different. The Dragon Emperor relies heavily on magic attacks, so staying at a distance is best. Watch out for their sword strikes, which are deadly if ignored.

To make this phase easier, use the Echo of the Bo Magus spell, which grants a shield that absorbs hits up to a set amount of health. Most spells get absorbed, so rely on your weapon attacks instead. Don’t forget to use Fire Tempering here to exploit their fire weakness.

    Rewards

After defeating the Dragon Emperor, you head to the final major location of the game. You’ll receive three items: The Vermilion Ancient Chisel, the Echo of Zhu Youjian spell, and the Jade Seal key item.

  • How to Reduce Damage in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers

How to Reduce Damage in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers

How Damage Works in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

During tough boss fights or fighting groups of enemies, your health can decrease quickly in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Sometimes, enemies can hit hard enough to knock you out in just one or two hits, especially during boss battles. That’s why it’s important to find ways to lower the damage you take.

    Understanding Damage Reduction

If you want to protect yourself better, you need to understand how damage works in the game. There are two main types of damage reduction you should know:

    Damage Reduction Details
Mitigation Mitigation reduces physical damage like slashes, stabs, fire, or magic damage. It helps lessen the damage enemies deal in the game.
Resistance Resistance decreases the effect of certain conditions, such as Blight, Burn, Frostbite, or Corruption that you might encounter during your journey.

In the pause menu, your stats on the right side show how much damage you’ve mitigated and how resistant you are to conditions. Having high mitigation is very helpful because most enemies deal physical damage.

Keep in mind that most items or equipment tend to reduce either physical damage or conditions, but not both. That means, you’ll usually see a focus on either physical protection or condition resistance, not both at the same time.

Damage reduction is critically important in boss fights. By knowing what kind of damage or conditions the boss uses, you can choose the best armor for the fight. You’ll never be completely immune, so changing your gear frequently to match different situations is key.

    Ways to Reduce Damage

There are five main methods to lower the damage you take in the game:

    • Pendants
    • Armor
    • Consumables
    • Abilities
    • Spells

Using these tools and skills, you can customize your build to cut down specific types of damage based on what you face in each encounter.

    Pendants

Pendants generally give broad damage reduction across the board, rather than specific types. As you collect pendants, you’ll find some that reduce damage overall, such as:

    Pendant Effect Where to Find
Gourd Pendant Reduces damage when your HP is low Drop from an enemy during the tutorial fight
Entwined Legend Pendant Increases Burn Resistance Found outside the Lightzen Temple on a Buddha statue
Dracolich Pendant Slightly reduces all damage In a red chest near the start of the Mercury Mines

    Armor

Armor in Wuchang Armor is one of the most effective ways to cut damage and resist conditions. Full armor sets are especially good at protecting against specific damage types or effects. You can also mix different pieces for more balanced protection.

In some areas, like Cloudspire, you might get conditions like Frostbite just by walking around. To avoid wasting healing items, equip armor that specifically reduces those conditions, like the White Spectre Armor set that greatly lowers Frostbite risk.

Always switch your armor before challenging a boss or entering new zones to be best prepared for the conditions you’ll face.

    Consumables

Consumable in Wuchang Consumables can help you reduce damage or resist effects temporarily. They are found throughout the game world, or dropped by enemies.

    Two common consumables are:

    Consumable Effect
Flameward Pill Boosts fire damage reduction for a limited time
Fixed Origin Pill Increases resistance to status effects for a certain period

    Abilities

Ability in Wuchang Some key abilities can also help reduce damage:

    1. Axe Block – Using an axe with the right skills allows you to block and reduce damage.
    2. Dual Sword Clash – Executing clash abilities with dual swords lessens damage from attacks.
    3. Parry – Performing a perfect parry completely negates incoming damage.

    Spells

Spell in Wuchang Spells also include options that reduce incoming damage. They use Skyborn Might, but can be very useful in boss fights. For example, you can buy the Divine Ward spell from a Panda trader in Worship’s Rise, which temporarily lowers damage taken during a fight.

  • Completing Feathered Priest Lu Bingzhang in Wuchang: Solving Fallen Feathers

Completing Feathered Priest Lu Bingzhang in Wuchang: Solving Fallen Feathers

    Feather Priest – Lu Bingzhang

Lu Bingzhang is the second big boss you will fight in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. Like the first boss, he can be tricky if you’re not ready for him.

Lu Bingzhang is a little tougher than the previous enemies, combining quick attacks with Corruption buildup to challenge you. Luckily, he doesn’t switch phases like many other bosses, so once you’ve learned his moves, defeating him becomes much easier.

Where to Find Feathered Priest Lu Bingzhang

You can find Lu Bingzhang easily in the attic of the main temple at Shu Sanctum. Simply go up the stairs next to the shrine, then continue up the next set of stairs and open the double doors to reach him.

    Preparation

    Menu screen with purple flower

There’s not much you need to do to prepare for Bingzhang, but it is helpful to have some Purple Camellia. Many of his attacks cause Corruption damage, and some leave lingering puddles on the ground. Having these items can help you avoid trouble.

Additionally, you can increase your Madness level for a small damage boost without risking summoning your Inner Demon if you die. Equipping armor resistant to Corruption buildup, like the Dazzling Fake Monk Robes, can also give you extra protection.

Use a Bone Whistle to summon an ally if you’ve completed Nian Suichang’s side quest for more support during the fight.

    Strengths and Weaknesses

    Lu Bingzhang preparing for attack

Lu Bingzhang’s main strength is his ability to deal significant Corruption damage quickly. He has several high-damage moves, such as jump-in slams and quick grabs that can be deadly. Thankfully, these moves have clear signs that are easy to spot and avoid.

He isn’t very agile and mostly shuffles towards you, giving you time to back away and heal if needed. He spends a lot of time recovering after attacking, making the fight more about patience and timing your strikes correctly.

    Moveset

    Attack Description Counter
Spear Slam Lu Bingzhang jumps in the air, charges a red spear, then throws it and slams down. Dodge when his spear flashes red or purple to avoid damage.
Staff Slam He flies into the air and lunges at you with his staff. Wait for his staff to flash purple, then dodge.
Overhead Strike He lifts his staff overhead and hits with it, often followed by a spin or another move. Dodge in any direction and then counter-attack with a stun move.
Spin A quick 360-degree turn, usually followed by another attack. Dodge through the spin and attack afterwards.
Aerial Magic He floats and sends purple fireballs that cause Corruption. Dodge to avoid fireballs, waiting for all to land before attacking.
Grab He glows purple and lunges to grab you. Watch for the glow and sound; dodge left or right to escape.
Corruption Puddles He slams the ground, creating puddles of Corruption underneath. Keep moving around to avoid the puddles while he attacks.

    How to Defeat Lu Bingzhang

    Lu Bingzhang in attack stance

The key to beating Bingzhang is to keep the pressure on. He takes some time to recover after most of his attacks, giving you chances to strike. Moving close or shuffling around allows you to use ranged attacks effectively.

Since his attacks are mostly punishable, build up enough stagger to land a few Obliterate Strikes, which deal heavy damage and knock him down. Watch out for his Spear Slams and grabs, and you’ll be able to handle him with ease and claim your rewards.

  • Using Benedictions in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers Puzzle

Using Benedictions in Wuchang: Completing Fallen Feathers Puzzle

    Benedictions in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Benedictions are like weapon upgrade slots in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers. As you play and defeat tough enemies or find hidden treasures, you’ll unlock Benedictions. These upgrades improve your fighting skills, add special effects to your combos, enhance spellcasting, and more. They give you a better chance against your enemies.

But, how do Benedictions work, and which ones are best for each weapon? In this guide, we’ll explain some early-game Benedictions, where to attach them, and how the system functions overall in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

    What Are Benedictions?

In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, Benedictions are powerful weapon upgrades that you can attach to each weapon.

When you attach a Benediction to a weapon, you gain its benefit whenever you use that weapon. This can help enhance your build in many ways.

    Benediction Benefit Details
    Create Weapon Synergy

Many Benedictions work together with specific weapons to create powerful effects.

For example, if you have a skill that boosts your Skyborn Might on a sword, a Benediction that also increases Skyborn Might will stack and make your attacks stronger.

    Round Out Weak Spots

If you’re using a weapon whose skill tree isn’t fully upgraded, Benedictions can fill in gaps.

Some Benedictions increase the strength of blocks or clashes, helping you defend better.

    Improve Attack Power

Broadly, Benedictions are great for boosting your overall damage, especially for Skyborn Might attacks.

    How to Use Benedictions

Wuchang praying at a shrine and toggling to the Benedictions UI in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

To attach Benedictions, you first need to visit a Shrine.

Unlike pendants or temporary buffs, you can’t change Benedictions outside a Shrine. Make sure you select the right Benedictions before heading into battle.

At the Shrine, pray and open the ‘Benedictions’ menu. Here, you can see your weapons and which Benedictions they have socketed.

There are three types of Benedictions you can use:

    1. Oath
    2. Memory
    3. Wisdom

The slots limit how many Benedictions each weapon can hold. You can only use each Benediction once, so you can’t put the same one on different weapons.

In the menu, select the weapon you want to upgrade, then add Benedictions to the available slots.

It’s recommended to equip at least one Benediction per weapon. This way, if you switch weapons out in the field without nearby Shrines, you’ll still enjoy some benefits from each weapon’s Benedictions.

    Best Early-Game Benedictions

The Benedictions UI in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Early in your adventure, it’s smart to put some Benedictions on your starting weapons to face tougher enemies better.

Here are some top early-game Benediction combos you can use:

    Weapon Benedictions Details
Cloudfrost’s Edge Oath – Blocking Clash
    Wisdom – Skyborn Magic

This sword can gain Skyborn Might quickly with the Impetus skill, stacking with quick attacks. Using the Blocking Clash Benediction boosts your blocking and enhances spell damage each time you gather Skyborn Might.

Red-Tassled Spear Oath – Skyborn Ward
    Wisdom – Plunging Force

This spear is fast and has strong combo potential. The Benedictions increase the effectiveness of your plunging attacks and reduce damage as your Skyborn Might grows, making it easier to stay close to enemies.

Dual Blades Wisdom – Counter Force

Dual blades can perform counters with Clash ability. The Counter Force Benediction makes your counters more powerful and usable more often.

Overall, Benedictions are about shaping your style of play. Try different combinations based on your enemies and your strategy.

  • Essential Tips for Completing and Solving in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Essential Tips for Completing and Solving in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

    Stay Aggressive During Battles

Boss fights are a big part of Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, and there are many ways to approach each one. But one consistent tip is to stay mostly aggressive throughout the fights.

Every enemy has a gauge that fills up when you deal damage. When it’s full, they become vulnerable to a powerful attack called Obliterate. Use this to your advantage by attacking, then unleashing Obliterate, and following up with more hits while they recover to maximize damage.

Get Sword Counter and Clash Skills Early

The combat system focuses heavily on dodging, but some enemies are easier to defeat by parrying. Many bosses really require you to master parrying, but you don’t start with this skill right away.

Make sure to unlock the “Sword Counter” skill in the Longsword skill tree in the Impetus Repository as soon as possible. It adds more options to your defense, especially against bosses. Also, pick up skills that give your attacks the Clash effect, which lets you trade blows with less damage to yourself.

    Skill tree showing Sword Counter

    Use All Your Healing Items

Between shrines, the game throws many tough encounters, and healing supplies are limited. However, you will find lots of secondary healing items while exploring.

Items like Steamed Bunny Buns, Health Pills, Raven Pills, and Special Pills should be used to recover health when fighting weaker enemies. Save your more powerful Manna Vases for the harder fights. Use the weaker items first, so your stronger healing options are saved for when they’re truly needed.

Healing items like pills and buns

    Collect Health and Stamina Upgrades

Your enemies can hit very hard, and managing stamina is key in a dodge-heavy combat style. To survive longer, focus on upgrading your Vitality and Endurance skills at the Impetus Repository.

Some weapon skill trees provide more of these upgrades, so if you feel your health or stamina is lacking, consider investing in different weapon trees that boost these stats. For example, the Dual Blades tree emphasizes Endurance upgrades, making it worth trying different options.

    Character upgrading health and stamina

    Always Watch for Traps

Ambushes are common in this game, and Wuchang loves placing sneaky traps. If you see an item lying on the ground in a small clearing, be cautious—there might be danger hidden there.

You’ll find enemies hiding behind corners, hanging from ceilings, mines buried under snow, and even underground trees. Always pay attention and keep your health full to avoid getting caught off guard or taking unnecessary damage.

    Sneaky trap

    Don’t Fear Your Inner Demon

It might seem scary when the game warns you about rising Madness and your Inner Demon nearly coming out. But having a high Madness level isn’t entirely bad.

High Madness boosts your attack power and can make some skills more effective or add extra effects. For example, if your Madness level is over 90%, your Longsword’s Blink Kick restores stamina, and other one-handed sword skills can deal more Skybound Might damage.

Keep in mind, though, that Madness also has negatives, like losing more Red Mercury upon death and taking more damage overall. It’s a balancing act, but a useful one if managed carefully.

    Stats screen showing Madness levels

    Monitor Your Red Mercury

In Wuchang, leveling up requires turning Red Mercury into Red Mercury Essence, which you then spend on upgrades. This process is a little complicated, and it’s sometimes hard to tell how much you have enough for an upgrade.

A helpful hint is that a red circle next to your Red Mercury count will glow gold when you have enough to turn it into an Essence. Keep an eye on this indicator and head to a shrine or be cautious when exploring once it lights up.
