    According to a writer for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” the canceled talk show has not received any backing from its former network for Emmy nomination consideration. Throughout its 11-season run, CBS’s late-night program garnered numerous nominations, including Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, but it only secured two wins. The show was awarded the titles of Best Conversational Series and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series in 2025.

    However, on June 20, show writer Felipe Torres Medina shared on Instagram that, “CBS is not doing a For Your Consideration campaign for us, so the @colbertlateshow writers decided to create our own #FYC campaign, strictly for financial reasons.”

    Despite Medina’s claims, CBS executed a full FYC campaign for the series across all relevant categories, which included television ads, digital billboards in New York and Los Angeles, and multiple email appeals to voters.

    According to The Hollywood Reporter, CBS purchased an FYC advertisement for “The Late Show” on their website, linking to a page detailing all the writers involved.

    Per an ABC press release, guest hosts will kick off the week of July 6 with Tiffany Haddish, followed by Anthony Anderson, Ike Barinholtz, Colman Domingo, and Jelly Roll.

    “And as a special treat for our leader, I brought back one of his favorite guests, Rosie O’Donnell, to keep things lively,” Kimmel commented. “You’re welcome, and all I ask in return, Mr. President, is that you don’t do anything foolish while I’m away.”

    Following his criticism of certain Republicans regarding their response to Kirk’s death on September 15 last year, the show was temporarily taken off the air for over a week.
