Top UR Abilities in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy: Ranking & Solving

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy features a gacha system that heavily depends on the abilities you can unlock for your characters, rather than the characters themselves. Because of this, the abilities you obtain are especially important, as some characters rely entirely on their UR abilities to be effective.

Each character has two UR abilities, which determine their capabilities. If you want to build a powerful Final Fantasy character, you’ll need to aim for the right UR abilities. We’ve ranked all the UR abilities in the game to guide you on which ones are the best to pursue.

Updated on April 7, 2026, by Jerel Levy: We added the latest UR abilities introduced with the release of Iroha and Onion Knight, including their options and the new Hope/Renew ability. We also included some non-UR abilities that are essential at this stage of the game, forming a comprehensive Dissidia Duellum ability tier list.

Complete Dissidia Duellum Ability Tier List

Abilities are the core of gameplay in Dissidia Duellum. Choosing the right abilities to pull for is crucial, as they provide the necessary tools to perform powerful combos and strategies.

We’ve ranked the UR abilities based on how practical and easy they are to use, as well as how vital they are to a character’s effectiveness.

    S+ Tier Abilities

    • Ace / Fire RF
Great as a finishing move in combos. Its wide range makes it likely to secure kills after a combo. Otherwise, it’s too niche to recommend universally. If you lack this, substitute with SR Firaga.

    • Ramza / Cheer Up
Crucial when you’re low on health. Transferring 80% of your bravery can turn a tough fight around and help your team or boss fight. Essential for Krile and Zidane to keep the fight going.

    • Selphie / Wall
Nullifies status ailments and reduces damage by 80%. Every character benefits from having this to stay alive longer. If unavailable, SR Barrier is a good fallback.

    • Earth Breaker
Offers excellent range. Causes low damage but is vital for breaking barriers that appear throughout matches. Since many enemies will deploy barriers, having this ready is highly beneficial.

    • Hope / Renew
Provides a full heal, bringing you back to maximum health. Healing is a must in many battles to prevent death, especially if you’re paired with support players. SR Heal is a good substitute for the same purpose.

    S Tier Abilities

    • Supreme Soul
Provides an area damage buff for all allies, helping finish off enemies in the vicinity.

    • Cross-Slash
Has a moderate cooldown and deals decent damage. Can stun enemies briefly, allowing follow-up attacks from you or your team to finish them off.

    • Meteor
Similar to Lightning’s Thunderfall, it deals AoE damage by knocking out enemies under a crystal. Can kill nearby enemies by stealing their BP during a burst, awarding 9,999 BP if they die.

    • Diamond Destroyer
A buff and debuff in one ability—raises your attack and speed while immobilizing enemies, setting up for deadly follow-ups.

    • Gachirin
Iroha’s strongest ability. Excellent for clearing enemies around bosses and dealing massive damage. Highly effective but requires both her UR abilities to shine.

    • Ninjutsu
Onion Knight’s main damage skill, capable of one-shotting enemies after leveling up. It’s a powerful tool for turning the tide of battle.

    A Tier Abilities

    • Sealed Sacred Light
Krile’s primary damaging ability. Has a fairly long cooldown and modest damage, mainly useful for destroying enemies around a crystal.

    • Trance (Terra)
Requires preparation with Fire-element abilities. When used correctly, it’s very powerful.

    • Trance (Zidane)
Effective when combined with his other abilities, but long cooldowns make it less of a priority.

    • Crackshot
Decreases enemy defense after dealing significant damage. Great for follow-up attacks, but range and positioning can be tricky.

    • Army of One
Lightning’s dash attack offers high damage and mobility, useful as a gap closer but may have limited impact if enemies are already far away.

    • Minwu / Teleport
Situationally helpful for characters with limited mobility, but generally a waste of an ability slot for most.

    B Tier Abilities

    • Zidane / Trance
Less impactful than higher-tier abilities, but still useful in certain situations for damage and utility.

    • Additional abilities in this tier include supportive or situational skills that can be useful but aren’t game-changing.

This list encapsulates the most impactful abilities across different tiers, helping players focus their pulls on abilities that can make a real difference in battles. Prioritizing high-tier abilities will maximize your effectiveness in Dissidia Duellum.

  • Pro Tips & Tricks for Completing & Solving in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Pro Tips & Tricks for Completing & Solving in Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy

Now that you’ve mastered the basics of Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy, you’re probably aiming to compete in tougher battles, level up faster, and finish your battle pass before the new season arrives.

Here are some expert tips to give you an advantage as you climb the ranks. These strategies can help you secure wins for your team and improve your overall experience. From completing challenges to equipping the right medals, strategizing your moves, and more, these tips are designed to boost your gameplay.

    Bring The Boss To You

A crucial point is the boss’s position. Many team fights are decided by where you lead the boss. If you’re battling in the enemy’s spawn area, they gain a respawn advantage because they can quickly reappear next to you after dying. This allows them to attack the boss directly, often turning the tide of the battle.

Since the boss targets the player with the most bravery, if you reach 9,999 bravery, lure the boss to your spawn point to take advantage of that safe position. Keep in mind that Atomos is an exception here, as he remains stationary.

Have One Of These Equipped At All Times

At higher levels, a barrier or barrier breaker becomes essential. Many players at advanced ranks can block or break nearly any attack, so having a barrier shield in your loadout is vital. The UR Selphie/Wall medal is an excellent permanent choice. If you don’t have that, upgrading the SR Barrier move is a good alternative.

Additionally, carrying a barrier breaker—like the SR Earth Breaker—can catch enemies off guard and prevent wasting cooldowns on invulnerable opponents. Keep in mind your team’s needs when selecting your abilities; coordination with teammates about who brings what can be very effective.

It’s also wise to include a healing skill, such as SR Heal, so that both you and your allies can recover health during fights.

    Pay Attention To Positioning

Positioning is key—both for yourself and your team. Proper placement allows you to avoid enemy abilities like Kain’s Dragoon’s Pride or Rinoa’s Meteor by staying out of their attack zones.

Always check where allies and enemies are before making a move, especially when sharing bravery points (BP). For example, avoid giving BP to allies who are out of position and at risk of feeding the enemy. Good positioning also helps you dodge devastating attacks—like the UR Ace/Fire RF’s one-shot kill—by anticipating their start-up animations and moving out of danger.

Being aware of where everyone is also enables you to execute Burst Chains effectively, which can rapidly diminish the boss’s health.

    Don’t Frivolously Break Crystals

While breaking crystals is crucial for gaining BP, it’s important to choose which ones to target carefully. Rushing to break the first visible crystal can harm your team’s broader strategy. For instance, if a character like Krile is camping a specific crystal to share BP, destroying it prematurely can weaken their play.

Near the end of a match, focus on preventing enemies from finishing the boss or repositioning it rather than farming distant crystals. Breaking nearby crystals to support your team’s current goal is usually more effective than chasing far-off crystals that don’t impact the immediate fight.

    Check Your Character Comparisons

Monitoring your stats helps you identify areas for improvement. Use your character comparison screen to review your usage rate, win percentage, bravery earned, and boss damage dealt. These insights can tell you which characters and strategies are most effective for you. Focus on boosting your boss damage, bravery, and win rate to optimize your setup.

Use Growth Eggs And Support Skills For Specific Increases

Enhance your characters wisely by applying Growth Eggs and support skills based on your play style and character roles. Instead of auto-assigning these items, target the specific UR abilities or support skills you actually use. For example, if you’re a melee character, prioritize stacking attack (ATK) enhancements, whereas support characters may benefit more from stacking health or defense.

    Watch Your Replays

Review your gameplay recordings to see how you perform in matches. Comparing your replays with others playing similar characters can reveal mistakes and opportunities for improvement. Analyze how enemies outplayed you, what abilities they used, and what you could have done differently. Continuous self-evaluation is a hallmark of top players.

    Do Your Challenges

Completing character-specific challenge modes offers more than just usable items like Growth Eggs and Job Medals. These challenges deepen your understanding of individual characters, help you learn their mechanics, and improve your skills. The medals you earn can also boost your character’s stats, making them stronger in future fights. Focusing on challenges ensures steady progress and mastery of your roster.

What Do You Gain With the Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy Season Pass?

Dissidia Duellum Final Fantasy allows players to take on the roles of their favorite Final Fantasy characters from across the series. The game is set in modern-day Tokyo, where you’ll encounter monsters roaming the streets and compete against other players in 3v3 battles.

While playing, you can choose to buy the Season Pass if you want. But what do you actually get from it, and is it worth the cost? Here’s a clear breakdown.

    What Are Seasons?
Seasons are limited-time events that drive the story of Dissidia Duellum. During each season, you earn season points by participating in battles. The more points you accumulate, the more rewards you’ll unlock. The initial season is called A New World Tutorial Season, which begins when you make your account and ends once all rewards are collected. If you buy the Season Pass, you get extra rewards for each season.
The next season is titled The Fight Rages On, the prologue, running until April 28, 2026, at 03:59 UTC.

    What Do Season Passes Unlock?
The first Season Pass costs 90 MogPay Points. If you buy it, you will receive various benefits until the current season ends, including:

    • Access to the Season Pass rewards lane
    • Access to event rewards like Ability Draw Tickets, Growth Eggs, Character Tickets, and MogPay Points
    • Bonus login rewards such as Ability Draw Tickets
    • Twice as many Growth Eggs from ability draws
    • More capacity for ability crystal slots (from three to six)
    • Additional ability set slots (from one to three)
    • The ability to skip the video ad for five free draws once every eight hours

You also have the option to buy a Boost Pass, which triples the season points you earn in battles. The first three-day Boost Pass is free, so be sure to use it if you can. Afterwards, the three-day Boost costs 480 MogPay Coins, and the 28-day version costs 1,980 MogPay Coins.

    Are Season Passes Worth It?
If you’re a frequent player of Dissidia Duellum, the Season Pass is probably a good investment. It offers extra rewards, faster character improvements thanks to doubled Growth Eggs, and more inventory slots for your abilities.
However, casual players who don’t play as often might find it unnecessary, as you can still earn plenty of rewards without spending real money.

A New World Tutorial Season Rewards
During the initial tutorial season, participating in battles grants you rewards that include Growth Eggs, MogPay Points, and character icons or story unlocks.
