How to Make Money Quickly in Discounty by Completing and Solving

Money doesn’t grow on trees in Discounty, so it’s best to save whenever you can and spend wisely. There will be times when you need thousands of Shills in your pocket to move forward in the story. If you don’t want to wait around grinding daily to earn money, you’ll want some quick and simple ways to make cash.

In the early chapters of Discounty, it can be frustrating because you often have to spend money to make money. Here are some helpful tips and tricks for earning more Shills in the game.

    ## How To Make Money Quickly In Discounty

The currency in Discounty is called Shills. Customers pay you with Shills, which you then spend on products and decorations for your store. Running a supermarket requires spending money to make money, as you’ll need to buy items to sell.

There will be moments when you are asked to spend thousands of Shills—once to show you’re running a proper supermarket, and again as a donation to the town. So how can you save up this money quickly?

    ### Save Your Shills

It’s tempting to visit Antics Antiques and spend your hard-earned cash on pretty crystals and colorful wallpaper. But if you’re serious about saving, it’s better to hold off on decorating until later in the game. Decorative items don’t add practical value to your store. Instead, invest in posters, shelves, and Boosters to encourage customers to spend more Shills.

    ### Become A Marketing Genius

Using marketing tools like posters, Boosters, vendor stands, and upgraded shelves can help attract more customers and boost sales. Customers usually come in wanting specific items, but you can tempt them into impulse buys by creating a welcoming and varied layout. The more display variety and spacing you have, the more likely customers will pick up items they hadn’t planned to buy.

Advertising your store and vendors with posters can also draw attention. If you sell expensive stock, it can be smart to promote the vendor who supplies it. Place their goods near their vendor stand (which becomes available after upgrading the trade deal), and watch your sales increase rapidly.

    ### Recycle Your Trash

Aunt Tellar suggests an early opportunity to earn extra money by picking up cans and bottles on the ground. Handing these over at the Recycling Center can be surprisingly profitable if you do it daily during your rounds in town.

Another recycling tip involves your boxes. You can sell them at the Recycling Center to make some money while keeping your store room organized. Use the machine in the Discounty office to break down boxes in groups of three. Alternatively, taking individual boxes to the recycling center also yields good returns, sometimes even more cash.

    ### Don’t Overfill the Store Room

You typically only need two full boxes of each product in the store room when the shelves on the shop floor are stocked. Keep a close eye on your spending—if you already have a full box of a product, there’s no need to buy more. Use the Discounty computer to monitor stock levels. When stock drops below 20 units, it’s a good idea to order more.

For vendor stock, watch the store room manually, as these levels are not tracked by the computer.

    ### Keep The C.A.R. High

Your weekly customer approval rating (C.A.R.) reflects how well you’re satisfying shoppers each day. Customers may react with hearts if you’re doing a great job, smiling if they’re okay, or anger if they’re frustrated.

Strive to keep your customers happy so they leave with full shopping bags and joyful reactions. A high C.A.R. means more customers will return the next day, leading to increased sales.

Essential Discounty Tips for Completing and Solving Efficiently

Running a supermarket on your own in Discounty can sometimes feel overwhelming, but there are ways to make it easier. While you won’t ruin everything if you make mistakes, smart planning and organization can simplify life greatly.

Start with a well-organized store room. The items you receive from Delivery Guy and vendors are either chilled or regular produce. Chilled items like milk, meat, and fish are packed in white Styrofoam boxes, while other goods such as household items and canned foods come in cardboard boxes. It’s helpful to divide your store room into chilled and non-chilled sections, keeping similar items together. This makes restocking during work hours faster and less stressful. When customers suddenly buy a lot of a certain product, like oats or shampoo, be ready by pre-storing some in your pockets to quickly refill shelves and prevent empty spots that can upset shoppers.

Use your evenings to restock the shop floor. Keep a small area free for storing empty boxes for recycling, and wait until you have at least three of the same type before collecting to recycle—either Styrofoam or cardboard—to avoid mixing bundles that won’t earn you money.

Maximize every inch of space in your shop by keeping everything organized. Place fresh produce in one area and chilled meats or fish together. Double up on stock on shelves to promote impulse buying—customers often find something unexpected and buy it. For example, grouping fish with canned processed foods might tempt a customer to grab an extra can. As your shop expands, place Boosters from the Hardware Store near relevant shelves to boost sales in that area. Avoid wasting space on decorative items like plants or crystals—they don’t increase sales and are better saved for other uses.

Keep your Customer Approval Rating (C.A.R.) high by serving customers quickly and keeping shelves fully stocked. A rating above 85% means more customers will come back. Pay attention to customers with exclamation marks above their heads; they want something you might not have in stock. Restock promptly or inform them politely if the item is unavailable to keep their experience positive.

Invest in posters to attract more customers. Basic posters at first, with vendor-specific ones available later, can be placed at the Harbor, Bar, or Bus Stop to draw in more foot traffic. Printing posters costs a few Shills each and takes time, so check back daily to start new batches and collect your printed posters.

Make weekly visits to vendors, as they restock once a week. Use this time to check trade deals and redeem points before buying extra stock, ensuring you get the best prices. Focus on completing vendor tasks—especially with vendors like Tammy, who can be more difficult—by selling her products, such as toothpaste, placed near a Household Booster for better sales.

Visit the Hardware Store daily, as stock refreshes every day. This is a great opportunity to buy Boosters—special items that improve sales for nearby goods. Place these Boosters near relevant shelves to encourage impulse buys, which can significantly boost your daily earnings.

Finally, use the Discounty Rewards system on the store’s computer. Complete daily and weekly tasks to earn points that unlock new products, extra pockets, and posters. Prioritize unlocking food items first, then upgrade your store with additional features like the Scanner, which speeds up checkout times once you’re comfortable with the new system.

How to Complete All Achievements in Discounty Through Solving

Discounty may be a short game, but it’s full of tasks and missions. Your main role is to help Aunt Tellar manage a new supermarket in a quirky little town. Between shifts, there’s plenty to explore and do.

There are 17 achievements and one Platinum trophy to earn in Discounty. Most of these come naturally as you progress through the main story, but a few are a bit tricky and worth aiming for early, so you don’t miss out near the end.

How to Unlock All Achievements in Discounty

The achievements are quite straightforward and can be unlocked by playing normally. However, keep an eye on a couple of specific ones to ensure you don’t spend too much time grinding after finishing the game.

First is “An Apple A Day,” unlocked by selling 365 apples—one each day, like “an apple a day keeps the doctor away.” The best way to hit this is by purchasing a Produce Booster to place near the apple shelves, encouraging customers to buy more. You might need to spend some extra time after completing the main story to reach this goal.

Another achievement is “Scrub Amok,” which requires you to clean 10 messes in Discounty within a single day. Since customers leave dirt behind, you typically clean those up right away. But for this achievement, wait until there are at least 10 piles of dirt before mopping them. Remember, only messes inside the store count; messes outside don’t contribute.

Finally, “Traffic Jam” involves causing a traffic jam by standing in front of a car on the highway for one in-game hour—that’s 60 seconds in real time. This can be done either first thing in the game or after work, ensuring it doesn’t interfere with other tasks.
