    Treasure Goblins are already a popular sight in Diablo 4, but the Goblin Greedings event takes their chaos to a new level. This limited-time celebration runs from December 18 to January 6 and fills Sanctuary with more friendly little goblins to hunt. During this period, defeat these goblins to advance along a special reputation track called the March of the Goblins.

    As you progress through the reputation tiers, the loot dropped by Treasure Goblins gets better. Each level unlocks rewards that you must claim manually at Goblin Square, located at the Altar of the Goblin in Kyovashad. Remember, all rewards need to be claimed before January 6, as the event resets afterward, and unclaimed prizes will be lost.

    The main rewards come from advancing the March of the Goblins reputation board. Increasing your reputation grants you caches with materials, Legendary items, runes, and Temper Manuals. Higher tiers provide improved loot, both in quality and amount. The rewards include:

    Unlocking Horadric Knowledge

    This system won’t be automatically available when you start a new character in the Seasonal Realm for Season 9. Once you enter the game, head over to Cerrigar and speak with Bryona to start the seasonal questline titled The Embers Yet Smoldering.

    If the quest isn’t there, make sure you’ve completed the main storyline of Diablo 4 first.

    After chatting with the NPC, you’ll need to tackle a Horadric Strongroom. These Strongrooms are located within Nightmare Dungeons and are typically packed with elite enemies. Ensure you have a solid team or strong gear before diving in.

    Once you defeat the boss in the Strongroom, return to Cerrigar to speak with Bryona again.

    This will unlock the Horadric Knowledge System for your use.

    Acquiring Horadric Knowledge

    You can level up this reputation system in a few ways. The easiest option is to participate in any Helltides.

    Diablo 4 has recently revamped its battle pass system with the introduction of Reliquaries.     Understanding how this new system works can be a bit tricky, especially if you don’t currently own the battle pass. In this overview, we’ll clarify what Reliquaries are, highlight the differences from the old model, and explain how you can earn Favor Tokens to claim rewards.

    What Are Reliquaries?

    Reliquaries serve as subcategories within the updated battle pass framework. Each Battle Pass consists of four Reliquaries, representing different types of rewards available throughout the season. For the current Season, titled Belial’s Return, the Reliquaries are as follows:

    1. Belial’s Return: A free reward track available to all players, featuring a mix of items.
    2. Weapons: Contains premium cosmetics specifically for weapon types.
    3. Beasts: A premium track offering mounts and pets.
    4. Armor: Features premium cosmetic armor sets for each character class.

    Each Reliquary functions as an individual reward track that players can progress through at their own pace. To unlock items within a Reliquary, you’ll need Favor Tokens, a new type of currency replacing the old Favor system. As you engage with Diablo 4 and make progress during the season, you’ll collect Favor Tokens to redeem in any Reliquary. The rewards in each track are not sequentially linked, allowing you to pick and choose which items to purchase.

    Only one Reliquary is accessible for free to all players. To access the additional three Reliquaries, you’ll need to buy them using Silver—the premium currency in Diablo 4. Each Reliquary costs 200 Silver.

    Once you unlock all rewards in a Reliquary, you receive a bonus item marked with a star in the user interface. In Season 8, this bonus is a special armor set distributed across all four Reliquaries. If you buy the Digital Deluxe version of the Battle Pass, you get this reward right away.

    It’s important to note that the new Reliquary system offers significantly fewer Platinum rewards than before, providing only 200 Silver in total compared to the previous 700 Silver. Keep this in mind before spending any Silver on a Reliquary track.

    Earning Favor Tokens

    You can earn Favor Tokens through regular gameplay, much like how Favor used to function. Gaining experience points from various activities will unlock Favor Tokens for your account. Defeating enemies, completing quests, and overcoming challenging bosses all contribute to your progress.

    Seasonal challenges won’t grant Favor anymore; they’ve been revamped to drop item bundles and Smoldering Ashes instead.

    You can earn up to 99 Favor Tokens in a season. Since these tokens are account-bound, you’ll make progress toward your next unlock regardless of which character you’re using. As long as that character is part of the current season, you’ll continue to earn Favor Tokens.

    How to Start a Deceitful Incursion

    “A Deceitful Incursion” is the questline for Season 8 that kicks off after you complete the Diablo 4 main campaign. You do not need the Vessel of Hatred to begin. Once you finish the campaign, head to Kyovashad and talk to Sayeena to start the quest. This will introduce you to the main seasonal mechanics, upgrade system, and new activities.

    Locate the Source of the Apparitions

    Sayeena has identified some unsettling apparitions located at the eastern end of the Fractured Peaks. Move to the waypoint and eliminate the enemies there. If you’re just starting out and have skipped the campaign, now’s a great time to allocate your skill points. Once you’ve defeated the enemies, enter the newly revealed dungeon.

    You will encounter an Apparition of Kirma, a massive foe with a variety of area attacks and powerful melee strikes. This enemy can be quite challenging even on Normal difficulty, so maintain a safe distance when you can. Ideally, have a movement skill with Unstoppable ready to escape any stuns inflicted by Kirma. Wear down its health until it eventually disappears, then talk to Sayeena again.

    Complete Apparition Incursions

    This apparition is just one of many that have surfaced in Sanctuary since Lilith’s fall. These apparitions are central to the new seasonal mechanics. Every five minutes, an Apparition Incursion will spawn somewhere in Sanctuary. These events are similar to Legion Events, but drop seasonal currencies and provide reputation toward Sayeena’s rewards.

    When you reach an incursion and the activity begins, a horde of Belial’s minions will appear near the summoning ritual. Taking them down will trigger an apparition miniboss similar to the one you faced earlier. You’ll have support from other players nearby, making these encounters manageable. After defeating an apparition, the ritual will move to a different location. Relocate, defeat any visible minions, and repeat the process.

    Once your group has taken down two apparitions, Belial will appear to end the event. This boss employs a range of wide-area attacks and occasionally summons pillars that explode after a few seconds. Strafe around Belial as much as possible to avoid the majority of its attacks.

    After delivering the final blow, an event chest will spawn, and you will receive Spectral Ash, a currency used in the Boss Powers seasonal mechanic. Open your inventory and check the “Boss Powers” tab (located to the left of your main inventory) to see your new powers. We’ll provide a detailed guide for this mechanic later today.

    Maul serves as your foundational ability, helping to generate Spirit. Opt for Enhanced Maul, which fortifies you by a percentage of your maximum health upon striking an enemy with it. This fortification can be critical, especially when surrounded by elite foes or tackles with a boss. Since it also helps generate Spirit, Maul provides a reliable means of protection in combat.

    Your primary damage ability will be Pulverize. This skill creates substantial area damage when other Spirit-consuming abilities have cooled down. As a result, you maintain consistent damage and defense through both Maul and Pulverize, rather than solely relying on the burst from your ultimate ability.

    Next, you’ll want to focus on your defensive capabilities, selecting two from this category, which means you’ll forego a companion skill.
