Top Unique Characters in FFT: The Ivalice Chronicles, Completing & Solving

The vast and detailed world of Ivalice has fascinated turn-based RPG fans for years. The reason why this game remains popular is largely because of its diverse cast of characters. While common soldiers and mages lay the groundwork, it’s the special characters—like Ramza, Agrias, Orlandeau, and others—who have game-changing abilities that truly stand out and define the experience.

This ranking ranks every unique character based on how powerful they are, how useful their special Job commands are, and how available they are throughout your journey in Ivalice. The goal is to help you assemble the strongest team for your battles.

    Tier List Structure

[Image of Rionvaes Castle with Ramza]

This list sorts characters into tiers, from most powerful to less useful, based on their capabilities in normal gameplay, considering their Job commands, stats, gear, and when you can recruit them.

    S-Tier – Game-Breakers
[Image of Ramza at Riovanes Castle]

Characters here are the most powerful and useful, often breaking the game with their damage and support. They need little effort to be effective and can turn any battle in your favor. Ramza and Orlandeau fit into this category, known for causing chaos with their unique skills.

    A-Tier – Powerhouses
[Image of Agrias leaving the church]

These characters are dependable and versatile. They perform well in their roles and are excellent choices for late-game squads. Their high stats and effective abilities make them reliable from early on through to the end.

    B-Tier – Solid Specialists
[Image of Lionel aiming with an arrow]

These units are strong but tend to fill specific roles. They often need some training or particular team setups to perform at their best. While not universal, their niche skills make them valuable in certain situations.

    C-Tier – Situational

Characters in this group have abilities that tend to be inconsistent or too slow. They often can’t keep up with higher-tier units and are best used only in specific cases or with significant effort. For example, Marach’s attacks are too dependent on having very low Faith, making him unreliable.

    Ramza
    Job: Gallant Knight
Ramza’s stats show high, well-rounded physical and magical growth. His support moves are some of the best, and since he’s easily available early on, he can supplement his skills easily with minimal effort. He’s a nearly perfect all-rounder.

    Orlandeau
    Job: Sword Saint
Orlandeau combines the strongest traits of Holy Knight, Templar, and Fell Knight classes. He deals ranged, high damage with PA-based attacks and can inflict status effects easily. His power can trivialize the toughest endgame content.

Characters in this tier are exceptionally strong and useful, instantly making them some of the best units in the game. Ramza and Orlandeau are famous for their destructive potential, thanks to their unique skills.

  • How to Play Amon The Forgeknight in Borderlands 4: Completing and Solving

How to Play Amon The Forgeknight in Borderlands 4: Completing and Solving

With the release of Borderlands 4, a new group of Vault Hunters steps into the spotlight. Each of the four characters is distinctive, equipped with three different skill trees and special augmentations to enhance their abilities. Figuring out where to begin can be overwhelming, but we’ll give you a comprehensive overview—starting with Amon, the Forgeknight.

He is a formidable character, primarily serving as a tank. His size and strength make him a heavy hitter and a sponge for damage. While he may be slower than other characters due to his bulk, customizing his build can optimize his performance in combat.

Each of Amon’s skill trees concentrates on a different gameplay aspect. You can freely combine skills and abilities, but some combinations naturally work better together. Below is an outline of each skill tree, highlighting what to prioritize and the best experiences to pair with each build. Remember, customization is essential, and no two builds are exactly alike.

    Amon Skill Trees

Skill Tree Focus Recommended Use Best For Key Features
Vengeance Defense & Cryo Focuses on Cryo Attunement; uses shield to defend and attack Campaign Enhances cryo effects, adds damage to Forgewaves, boosts shields
Calamity Offense & Incendiary Emphasizes passive skills, transforms Amon into chaos with incendiary damage Solo Melee-focused, quick enemy clearance, versatile weapon compatibility
Cybernetics Balance & Range Combines fire and ice, boosts ranged attacks, supports fast-paced combat Multiplayer Wide attack range, elemental versatility, fast movement

    Campaign Build for Amon

This build, called “Vengeance,” centers on durability, with a focus on Cryo power. Use your shield to block and retaliate against enemies while dealing with them in combat. Prioritizing the Vengeance skill tree improves your defensive capabilities and Cryo affinity, making Amon resilient against the toughest foes. Shield and barrier enhancements keep damage at bay, allowing you to absorb hits longer. Invest in passive skills like Blastchill to boost your damage and explode effects. For co-op play, switch to Cryonic Thrum to taunt enemies and heal allies through Cryo Pulses. Around level 17, select Eternal Winter to intensify firewall damage, summoning stronger Forgewaves that do not consume Vengeance points. Finish with Ring of Frostfire, which delivers dual-element damage—dealing Incendiary inside the ring and Cryo from outside—while leveraging Maliwan weapons capable of swapping elements for optimal damage output.

    Solo Build for Amon

Known as “Calamity Amon,” this aggressive approach involves close combat and fire-based attacks. Maximize Onslaughter skills to quickly dispatch bosses and enemies. Use melee attacks heavily, and rely on skills like Metal Urge to reduce cooldowns and keep Onslaughter active longer. Focus on Augments like Pyroclast to extend Onslaughter’s duration and increase damage. For burst damage, equip Augments like Force of Nature and Fulminating Fist—these can turn enemies against each other or inflict status effects for maximum impact. Ultimate skills such as Hoarcleave, which transforms Molten Slam into an area-based Cryo attack, help freeze enemies and wipe out groups efficiently. This build excels in solo scenarios where quick, destructive combat is essential.

    Multiplayer Build for Amon

Dedicated to support and damage, this build centers around the Cybernetics tree with an emphasis on speed and elemental balance. Focus on the Crucible Action Skill, stacking elemental bonuses and quick attacks to keep pressure on enemies. Prioritize reload speed and gun damage to maximize firepower, while utilizing Augments like Endless War to boost damage on primed enemies or Searing Cold to freeze enemies on impact. Use high-quality Jakobs firearms and shotguns with elemental swapping capabilities to amplify critical hits and freeze or ignite enemies rapidly. This mode supports team play by disrupting enemy formations and managing crowds efficiently.

    Key Skills for Amon

For each specialization, certain skills stand out:

    • Vengeance Focused: Wrath of Nature (increase cryo effectiveness), Bloodlust (damage and health regen), Metal Urge (reduce cooldowns), Ring of Frostfire (dual damage and crowd control).
    • Calamity Focused: Onslaughter (melee devastator), Bloodlust, Metal Urge, Hoarcleave (massive Cryo wave), and damage augment skills like Berserk and Bloodlust.
    • Cybernetics Focused: Discombobulate (critical hit boost), Lightning Rod (shock damage), Into The Fray (damage based on proximity), Storm Surge (shock damage and shield interactions), and Critical Damage increases.

Choosing the right skills and augments tailored to your preferred gameplay style will make Amon a versatile and powerful character, whether you’re running solo, supporting allies, or storming through campaigns.

Completing Every Character in THPS 3+4: A Solving Guide

The **Tony Hawk** series has always featured entertaining cameo characters, and **Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4** is no different. However, there’s no single method to unlock every skater. You can acquire them through various means, including direct purchases from the shop, using real money, or completing specific challenges.

This guide will walk you through each character that isn’t part of the base roster and explain how to unlock them. Additionally, we’ll provide tips on how to quickly earn the cash needed for those purchases. Consider this your go-to reference for accessing every character in the game.

Characters Available in the Secret Shop

Besides the deluxe edition skaters, **every character you unlock must be bought in the Secret Shop**. Not all characters are available at once; some need to be unlocked by completing specific objectives. No matter what, you’ll need to fork over some cash to get them. Here are a few quick tips for earning some quick cash.

Luckily, you can earn a decent amount just by playing through the levels. Each stage hides bundles of cash, with **each worth $1,000**. However, the quickest way to make money is by diving into Photo Mode and quickly cycling through every visual filter in the fourth menu. This completes the Styles Upon Styles Tricks Challenge, awarding you **$5,000**!

    How to Unlock Andy Anderson

Andy Anderson stands out as one of the leading skaters of this era, notable for his advocacy of wearing helmets and his impressive skills. Notably, he’s the only Canadian in the lineup, which seems odd considering how great the Canada stage is. You can buy Andy right away as soon as you have enough cash. He costs a total of **$5,000** from the Secret Shop.

    How to Unlock Bam Margera

Bam Margera was one of the most beloved skaters in the original **Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3**, and there was some debate about whether he would return. Ultimately, Tony Hawk himself ensured that Bam made the cut. Like Andy, you can **pick up Bam at the Secret Shop for $5,000**.

    How to Unlock Michelangelo

Michelangelo, or Mikey, is one of the most thrilling additions to the game, and likely the most iconic cameo. He’s available for purchase in the Secret Shop right from the beginning. To recruit him, you just need to pay **$10,000**.

    How to Unlock Constable Richard

Constable Richard is the modern version of Officer Dick, featuring the voice and likeness of Hollywood star Jack Black. He’s also a fun character to unlock. To get Constable Richard, you need to locate a panda in every stage of **Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4**. Once you’ve found all 18 pandas, you can buy him for **$5,000**. Below, you’ll find the locations of each panda.

    Stage Panda Location
Foundry This panda is in the back corner on the second floor of the Foundry.
Canada Look for the panda resting beside a tree surrounded by a ramp, in the area below The Horn grind.
Rio In the corner of the Rio map, you’ll find a fountain with a panda sitting beside it.
Suburbia Once you break into the backyard of the haunted house, find the panda on the ramp.
Airport Find this panda above the entrance of gate C2.
Skater Island This panda is on the beach behind a small rowboat.
Los Angeles You can spot this panda in the underground halfpipe near a building with shatterable glass.
Tokyo This panda is in the secret section, tucked behind the entrance on the first floor, beside the ramp.
Cruise Ship From the starting point, go to the lower deck on the right side. The panda is sitting in one of the flower beds above you.
College Next to the parking complex, you’ll find a small building with a roof that has ferns on all corners. The panda is on this roof.
San Francisco This panda is located on the roof of the building on the pier to the left side of the map.
Movie Studio Find this panda on the second level of the scaffolding surrounding Studio 34.
Alcatraz This panda can be found on the platform halfway up the big guard tower, reached by grinding a wire from the roof.
Waterpark Go to the castle to find this panda sitting on a ledge running alongside it.
Kona Located in the grassy area with a dumpster near a ramp, the panda is behind the dumpster.
Shipyard This panda is sitting along the walkway around a building near the pier. Look for it across from the building near a hanging shipping container.
London This panda is next to a trash bin in the underground parking area.
Zoo The panda can be found in the back right corner of the stage, above the cage.
Pinball Finally, look for this panda behind the massive billboard above the zombie cop holding a stop sign.

While I’ve provided the location of every panda, some can be challenging to reach, even if you know where they are. Don’t worry! A more detailed guide is in the works and will be linked here once it’s published.

    How to Unlock Birdman

Birdman is the ultimate character to unlock in **Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4**. To get this unique bird, you must complete every starter goal in all stages of the game. You only need to finish the starter goals, not the Pro goals, Platinum Medals, or Expert Challenges. Once you’ve done that, you can buy the **Strange Feathers from the Secret Shop for $5,000**, allowing you to unlock Birdman.

How to Unlock The Revenant and Doom Slayer

Unfortunately, the Revenant and Doom Slayer can’t be unlocked through gameplay. These characters are available as paid DLC. If you want to skate with them, you’ll need to purchase them either through the **Deluxe Edition** or as a **Content Pack upgrade** for the standard version.

Completing Your Project Sigil Guide: Solving DND Beyond Characters

When you’re setting up a Dungeons & Dragons adventure in Project Sigil, importing character sheets from D&D Beyond can really speed things up. While it’s a straightforward process, newcomers to Project Sigil and other 3D virtual tabletop applications might find it challenging to figure out where to start.

This guide is designed to help you import your D&D Beyond characters into Project Sigil, so you can launch your virtual campaign without any hitches.

How to Add Player Characters and Miniatures

To start, enter your campaign space in Project Sigil, and add a player miniature to the board.

To do this, just go to the right-hand menu and select Add Mini.

This option is available only to Dungeon Masters. Players will need to ask the DM to spawn a mini for them.

After that, players can select a miniature.

To claim a mini, simply pick the miniature and click ‘Claim’ in the bottom left corner of the screen. From there, you can name the character, choose its race, customize its look, add inventory, and more.

If you wish to import a character sheet from D&D Beyond into Project Sigil, here are the steps to follow.

While you can change a miniature’s size, speed, hit points, and armor class, you must import a character sheet into the miniature to modify its stats.

    1. Claim the miniature.
    2. Click on the Character Portrait icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.
    3. From the drop-down menu, choose the character you want to import.
    4. Select ‘Load Character From Clipboard’.

Your characters from D&D Beyond should now appear, and you can pick whichever one you like. The character will be imported, and you’ll see the updated stats in the attributes tab.

Keep in mind that you can still customize the appearance of the miniature in Project Sigil, even after importing a character.

  • The Walking Dead Introduces New Fortnite Maps, Characters And Gear

The Walking Dead Introduces New Fortnite Maps, Characters And Gear

The Walking Dead Universe Joins UEFN and Fortnite Creative

The Walking Dead has officially made its way into Fortnite, introducing a range of new weaponry, foes, and building materials. Players in Fortnite can now craft custom islands utilizing assets from The Walking Dead in Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) and in Fortnite Creative. As an exciting addition, when version 34.30 launches on April 8, players will welcome Negan as a non-player character (NPC), with the chance to play as him appearing on April 4.

And here’s the exciting news: you can begin constructing now (though your islands won’t be publishable on the Creator Portal until May 16). If you’ve taken a break from Fortnite, you’ll notice the game has evolved massively, far exceeding just the battle royale experience and incorporating a wealth of user-generated content and various game styles.

Among the new adversaries are Walkers, a sluggish, shambling horde — basically what most people envision when they think of zombies. They’re relatively easy to defeat in small numbers, but grouped together, they pose a significant threat. If a player gets bitten, they incur damage over time, echoing a classic horror trope: once bitten, there’s little hope left.

The Prison Starter Island offers a foundation for your map, but you can also utilize the Flat Grid Template to design a unique space. Opt for the classic zombie-slaying Shiva Shotgun or wield Negan’s infamous bat, Lucille, perfect for smacking down those mindless foes.

A multitude of guides and documentation is available to help you dive in. The Fortnite community thrives on creating fresh, custom content that keeps the gameplay entertaining long after the initial excitement of winning subsides, and this collaboration is a fantastic opportunity to continue that legacy.

  • James Gunn Denies Claim That Some Characters Are Too Niche

James Gunn Denies Claim That Some Characters Are Too Niche

For over a year, excitement has been steadily growing surrounding the new DC Universe crafted by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Although the franchise, inspired by DC Comics, has yet to officially launch, that moment is on the horizon with the debut of Gunn’s animated spin-off series, Creature Commandos, set to premiere on December 5 on Max. However, Gunn is already facing criticism from some comic book enthusiasts and moviegoers while also addressing specific concerns.

The co-CEO of DC Studios recently responded to a fan on Threads who expressed unease about Gunn endorsing projects centered around lesser-known characters like Sgt. Rock and Swamp Thing. The fan claimed it appeared that the DC Universe was being created solely for dedicated comic fans rather than the broader audience. In his response, Gunn emphasized, “Don’t put Swamp Thing in the corner. That’s a project in development we’ve actually confirmed. He is a highly recognized character with some of the greatest comics in history, along with a successful film series and his own TV show—something true for only a handful of DC characters.”

Furthermore, Gunn defended his choice to forgo revisiting the origin stories of Batman and Superman, succinctly stating, “I’m not retelling Batman and Superman’s origins because everyone knows them.”

With a track record of bringing lesser-known comic characters to the forefront, Gunn achieved this notably in 2014 with Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. DC Studios is currently working on multiple projects that aim to highlight less recognized comic book figures, including Creature Commandos, The Authority, Booster Gold, and the recently announced film directed by Luca Guadagnino, featuring Daniel Craig as Sgt. Rock.

It is important to note, however, that equally significant projects are in development at DC Studios featuring more iconic characters. These include Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, The Brave and the Bold, Swamp Thing, and Lanterns. Films focusing on the Teen Titans and popular villains like Bane and Deathstroke are also in the pipeline.

Considering all this, it appears that Gunn and Safran are committed to creating a diverse portfolio within the DC Universe, striving to balance both widely recognized and obscure characters. Only time will reveal if their strategy will resonate with audiences, but it’s hard to critique their approach before the release of any DCU films or shows.

Unlock All Characters in Metal Slug Tactics: A Complete Guide

Metal Slug Tactics provides a fresh twist on the classic arcade heroes by transforming them into a turn-based strategy game on a grid map. In the beginning, your team will be quite small, but after successfully defeating Morden at least once, you’ll unlock some familiar allies to add to your roster.

Eventually, you’ll have access to a total of nine top-tier soldiers ready to battle the Rebel Army, with each character offering four unique loadouts. Since you can select a team of three for each mission, you’ll have an astonishing 32,256 squad combinations to explore!

To unlock new characters, focus on successfully completing runs. This involves progressing to the end of the Sirocco City map and defeating Morden’s colossal robot, Jupiter King. The number of regions you liberate before attacking Sirocco City plays a crucial role in whether new characters become available. Additionally, the total characters that have successfully beaten Morden throughout your various runs influences your unlocks.

Here’s a clear overview of each character and how to unlock them:

How To Unlock New Character Loadouts

Each character starts with a standard loadout called Classic, which is perfectly capable of completing missions. However, by trying out different loadouts, you can discover great combinations that enhance your gameplay. To unlock additional loadouts, you need to win at least one run with each character. The other two loadouts can be purchased using Credits from Margaret at your base between missions.

To earn more Credits, utilize Sync Attacks, particularly those resulting in frags (kills). Collaborate with your team for maximum efficiency, especially during longer runs. Even if a Sync Attack seems excessive, executing it can be worthwhile for the extra payout at the end of the campaign.

  • Top-Ranked Five-Star Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

Top-Ranked Five-Star Characters in Honkai: Star Rail

You might have various motivations for diving into Honkai: Star Rail, and one of the biggest draws is undoubtedly the diverse cast of characters. Hoyoverse is well-regarded for creating stunning character designs within anime games, and this title uniquely incorporates characters from Honkai Impact 3rd, adding an extra layer of intrigue.

The game features a selection of four-star and five-star characters, categorized by their distinct paths and combat styles. Each character’s role within a team is defined by their path, yet they can also be evaluated on their overall effectiveness and contribution to the gameplay.

Revised as of October 27, 2024: Break-based damage is currently a focal point for Hoyoverse in Honkai: Star Rail. New characters are frequently introduced to bolster this playstyle, with Feixiao, Lingsha, and the latest addition, Rappa, coming to the forefront. Rappa has proven to be an exceptional character for endgame scenarios.

    Overview of This Tier List

In Honkai: Star Rail, the performance of each character hinges on several components. When you acquire a character through summoning, progressing in the game, or participating in a limited-time event, they will come equipped with a set of five Traces (abilities):

    1. Basic Attack: Each character’s basic attack is essential for initiating battles and inflicting damage. The damage output from this attack is a percentage of their total ATK, which remains consistent across characters at a specific level. For instance, a level one character’s basic attack deals 50% of their ATK in damage.

    2. Skill: Characters possess a unique skill aligned with their path. Activating a skill requires one skill point, which you can gain through basic attacks. The available skill points accumulate during fights and are displayed alongside your abilities.

    3. Ultimate: You accumulate Energy via basic attacks, skills, or by receiving damage from foes. Once you gather sufficient Energy, you may unleash the character’s ultimate ability, which can significantly sway the battle’s outcome.

    4. Technique: This ability supplants the skill button when exploring the open world. You can use it before a battle to gain advantages specific to the character.

    5. Talent: Talents act as primary passive abilities that tie together all of a character’s skills. Each character can acquire up to three additional passive abilities after reaching certain ascension stages.

In addition to the character level, damage output is influenced by the Light Cone level, the type of Relics equipped, and their respective levels. There’s a wide array of Light Cones and Relics available, allowing for a high degree of customization.

    Important Consideration

When selecting a Light Cone, it’s crucial to note that a Light Cone’s ability only activates if it matches the character’s path.

With this diverse array of options, this tier list assesses character effectiveness based on their Traces. Keep in mind that the rankings are subjective, and you may not agree with all placements. Ultimately, you should choose characters that you find enjoyable to play.

    S+ Tier: Top Five-Star Characters

This tier showcases the premier five-star characters, poised to excel in any scenario. These characters often surpass others, helping players tackle endgame content such as the Memory of Chaos or Swarm Disaster. The abundance of characters in this tier is a testament to the viable options available in Honkai: Star Rail under the right circumstances.

    • Lingsha: A standout in break-based teams alongside Firefly and Boothill, Lingsha excels in reducing Toughness damage and offers remarkable healing capabilities. Her follow-up actions and automatic healing for low-health characters every two turns make her an excellent support choice.

    • Firefly: Known for her Weakness Break-based DPS, Firefly requires players to prioritize breaking Toughness quickly to truly unleash her potential, resulting in impressive damage figures.

    • Imaginary/Harmony Trailblazer: This character offers a significant advantage to free-to-play players. While their basic attacks may not shine, the Ultimate provides extraordinary benefits for allies attacking Weakness Broken enemies.

    • Robin: Exceptional as a Harmony path character, Robin enhances the entire team’s damage output and can even grant instant turns to allies during her Ultimate.

    • Aventurine: As a sustain-focused character, Aventurine provides crucial shields and increases damage potential with follow-up attacks.

    • Acheron: With a unique kit and Ultimate mechanics, Acheron distinguishes herself as a strong choice in various scenarios.

    • Sparkle: If acquired, Sparkle lays the groundwork for success in challenging game content with skills that enhance allies’ turns and critical damage.

    • Black Swan: An effective character in the Nihility path, Black Swan can deal impressive damage while punishing enemies for being proactive.

    • Ruan Mei, Huohuo, Jingliu, Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae, Fu Xuan, and Kafka also secure their places in this elite tier due to their versatility and powerful mechanics.

    S Tier: Additional Top-Tier Characters

This tier features five-star characters who boast strong skill sets and fit well in many team compositions. While they may not always excel in every situation, they provide significant value to any player:

    • Rappa, Feixiao, Yunli, Jade, Dr. Ratio, Argenti, Fire/Preservation Trailblazer, Silver Wolf, Luocha, Blade, Gepard, and Bronya complete this list, each bringing their unique strengths to the battlefield.

    A Tier: Solid Choices

This tier includes characters that offer great utility but may not reach the top-tier level due to various limitations. Characters like Jiaoqiu, Boothill, Topaz & Numby, Seele, Bailu, Physical/Destruction Trailblazer, Yanqing, Welt, Clara, and Jing Yuan provide valuable experiences and capabilities that are notable, yet less impactful than their higher-tier counterparts.

    B Tier: The Unfortunate Standout

The only B-tier character is Himeko. Despite her impressive ability set and ult animations, other characters tend to overshadow her performance in practice. Her skills deal area damage, but not to a satisfying degree, particularly when compared to the free character Asta, making her less competitive in the overall game landscape.

Feel free to explore and enjoy Honkai: Star Rail with your favorite characters while discovering your personal playstyle!
