Five Big Announcements to Watch at CES 2026

The first major technology event of the year is almost here, with CES 2026 kicking off on January 6. Over the following three days, expect a wave of new hardware and software releases, including home technology, televisions, fitness equipment, and gaming innovations.

Numerous companies will showcase their latest products on the exhibition floor in Las Vegas, and many will also hold online unveilings. With so many new offerings, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed trying to keep track of everything.

To help you cut through the noise, here are five major announcements to watch for at CES. Some represent specific products or lines, while others highlight broader market trends that are set to make a splash at the event.

RTX 50 Series Upgrades

There’s usually no shortage of graphics card announcements at CES, and this year is no different — with Intel expected to introduce Panther Lake processors, and potentially, NVIDIA may showcase the GeForce RTX 50 Super series, an upgraded iteration of their current 50 series GPUs. NVIDIA’s graphics offerings are the dominant choice among gamers — according to Steam’s November hardware survey, 26 of the top 30 GPUs were from NVIDIA — so any updates are significant.

While we don’t know the exact features or release dates for the RTX 50 Super series, many anticipate CES will serve as an initial glimpse rather than a full reveal, with a more formal launch later in the year.

Lenovo Legion Go 2 (SteamOS Version)

Another highlight for gamers could be a SteamOS-powered version of the Lenovo Legion Go 2, providing a stronger competitor to the Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally. Unveiled at IFA 2025, the original Legion Go 2 was a high-end handheld gaming PC featuring a premium display and sleek controllers, but it faced criticism for its high price and didn’t make as much noise as products from ROG or Valve.

There are strong rumors that CES might introduce a variant running on Valve’s SteamOS, which would be a significant upgrade over the Windows 11 version — possibly making it one of the most compelling new gaming devices to watch for at the show.

Innovative Micro and Mini-LED RGB TVs

CES is also a platform for groundbreaking display technologies, and we’re expecting to see new high-end TVs that use advanced lighting tech. We already have some insights into LG’s plans, thanks to a blog post highlighting this year’s CES 2026 Innovation Awards. Among the upcoming products are robot vacuums, 6K computer monitors, and Micro RGB TVs — the latter of which could become a major display trend, especially with CES serving as their launch platform.

Here’s what fans can expect from LG at CES 2026:

### Micro RGB, Signature, and OLED TVs

LG has traditionally used CES to debut a multitude of new televisions. In 2025, the company showcased updates across several lines, and 2026 is expected to follow suit. Based on the Innovation Awards, we know LG will introduce new OLED TVs and monitors, including an upgraded version of its transparent Signature OLED T, alongside a new high-end LCD panel featuring Micro RGB technology.

Micro RGB is an innovative display tech that debuted mid-2025, utilizing tiny red, green, and blue LEDs to enhance contrast and color accuracy—further improving upon Micro LED in some respects, albeit at a higher price point. Several new Micro RGB TVs are expected to be unveiled at CES, possibly establishing it as the new display trend for the year, warranting close attention from TV enthusiasts.

Loyal LG fans will also be watching for new entries in the G- and C-series. These models are likely to dominate the awards LG has been touting and will be the focal point for consumers and media alike throughout the year. While Micro RGB may just turn heads on the showroom floor, the G6 and C6 models are expected to generate most of the buzz, despite having used similar names for previous phones and TVs.

Other TV models beyond these are unlikely at this stage, as LG generally prefers not to dilute the spotlight with more budget options that could split attention between the flagship displays.

Nintendo Addresses CES Leak About Switch 2

After CES 2025, where accessory maker Genki showcased a prototype of the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo has stepped in to clarify recent rumors surrounding its yet-to-be-announced console.

With gamers eagerly following each rumor about the Nintendo Switch 2, the most recent allegation suggested that a mock-up of the console was displayed during the CES 2025 event. Until now, Nintendo had remained silent about these speculations, but the company has finally made a statement.

In a report to CNET’s Japanese branch, Nintendo stated, “The gaming hardware that Genki is claiming to be Nintendo hardware at CES is unofficial and was not supplied by us.” This declaration aims to dispel any misconceptions about the authenticity of the prototype shown.

Genki has since modified its narrative regarding the mock-up. The company admitted to a publication, Game*Spark, that their prototype was based on leaked information rather than insider knowledge. This clarification contrasts sharply with earlier claims that Genki had possession of a genuine Switch 2 unit.

If Genki’s mock-up was indeed inspired by leaks, it doesn’t lend credibility to any specific claims but merely reflects the ongoing speculation surrounding the console’s design as a promotional strategy. It raises questions about why accessory manufacturers would engage in production of a product that has yet to be officially confirmed. Nonetheless, their model does resonate with other rumors, suggesting that there might be some truth to the surrounding chatter, despite its foundation on speculation.

While Nintendo has historically kept details under tight wraps, some information regarding the Nintendo Switch 2 has emerged. The upcoming console is expected to be backward compatible with existing Switch games, and an official announcement is anticipated by March 31.

Nintendo has promised a formal announcement regarding the Switch 2 by the conclusion of its fiscal year. This timeline suggests that the console is unlikely to launch during this period, with April 2025 potentially serving as the earliest window for its release. Reflecting on the Switch’s history, which debuted on March 3 following an October announcement, a similar timeline for the Switch 2 would place its launch around August or September of this year.

Lymow is set to disrupt the robotic lawn mower market with their upcoming product, the Lymow One. This innovative mower features mulching blades and a distinctive tracked tread system designed to make lawn care simpler than ever. One standout feature of the Lymow One is its mowing deck, equipped with high-quality mulching blades similar to those found in professional ride-on mowers. These blades promise a superior cut compared to the standard metal swing blades seen on many robotic mowers. Powered by a brushless motor with a peak output of 1,200 watts, it can spin the blades at an impressive 6,000 RPM, providing a cutting width of 16 inches. In addition to precise yard mapping, the sensors enable the Lymow One to create attractive striped patterns across the lawn, much like traditional mowers do. Users can even customize the stripe overlap to generate unique patterns such as checkerboards or diamond grids.

Driving the mower’s movement is a tracked tread propulsion system, which allows it to traverse uneven terrain and navigate around obstacles up to 2 inches high. Its powerful motor can tackle slopes of up to 45 degrees, cutting an area of up to 0.23 acres per hour or 1.73 acres daily, though it will need to recharge after approximately 0.50 acres.

Ahead of CES 2025, Hisense has unveiled an exciting teaser, showcasing its new HT Saturn model. This home theater system appears to draw inspiration from Sony’s successful designs. Featuring a 4.1.2 Dolby Atmos setup, the HT Saturn is a “wireless home theater system” that includes four satellite speakers and a subwoofer. It utilizes a compact HDMI ARC/eARC breakout box for transmitting audio, mirroring a configuration similar to Sony’s Bravia Theater Quad.

As of now, Hisense has not disclosed pricing or availability details for the HT Saturn.

This Dolby Atmos soundbar alternative comes equipped with two features tailored to enhance the experience for owners of compatible Hisense TVs. One is an automatic room calibration system that provides flexibility in speaker placement. The other, echoing the S-center channel technology of the Bravia Theater Quad, is Hisense’s Hi-Concerto feature, which allows audio duties to be shared between the TV speakers and the wireless speakers.

While the system’s features are designed for use with select Hisense TVs, an official list of compatible models has yet to be provided.

Lenovo made waves last year with a concept for a rollable laptop showcased at MWC 2023, but it was merely a prototype back then. According to a recent leak reported by The Verge and Evan Blass, that idea is set to materialize at CES 2025 in just a few weeks.

The Lenovo device, which initially appears as a standard laptop, transforms dramatically with the push of a button located on the side. The additional screen rolls out from beneath the keyboard, gradually expanding until it effectively presents two screens stacked atop each other.

The extension process is somewhat gradual, and a noticeable crease is present when the display is fully expanded; however, it remains unclear whether these features are solely characteristic of the prototype. The leaked photographs suggest that refinements may have been implemented since the initial reveal.

Notably, the leaked model boasts a traditional hinge design, a departure from the prototype’s aesthetics. Although details concerning specifications remain undisclosed, the original prototype featured a resolution of 2024 x 2368 pixels upon full extension, effectively resembling a vertical display. In a market inundated with ultrawide screens and expansive monitors, many users are increasingly challenged by the confines of conventional laptops, making Lenovo’s innovative trials particularly appealing.

240Hz OLED Gaming Monitors To Be Launched At CES 2023

The CES 2023 show is just days away, and we are particularly excited about one of the standout categories: 240Hz OLED gaming monitors.

It is generally believed that OLED panels can provide higher picture quality and a faster response time than their LED or IPS counterparts, but they have historically been unable to match them in terms of high-refresh rates.

Despite some exceptions, such as the Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED running at 175Hz, OLED gaming displays now offer the optimal 240Hz refresh rate that is prized by eSports and FPS players.

The CES 2023 conference will feature several 240Hz OLED displays (to the best of our knowledge). The Corsair Xeneon Flex is an innovative 45-inch OLED screen with a customizable curvature that sells for $1,999. It is suitable for both work and play, as you can switch between flat and 800R curved display modes by squeezing the display together.

As we were able to review a pre-release version of the Corsair Xeneon Flex, we were very impressed. In addition to AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, you’ll get a fast 0.03 millisecond response time, as well as 240Hz variable refresh rate and 1440p resolution.

In addition, LG Display will be showcasing its 45-inch ultra-wide OLED and 27-inch OLED UltraGear monitors, which are already available for pre-order for $999 and $1,699, respectively. There is a 0.03ms response time on both displays and they are both 1440p. A press release from LG Display also confirms that these OLED panels will be used in premium monitors from other brands, including Corsair and Asus.

In addition, we know that Asus will unveil a new 27-inch ROG OLED gaming monitor at CES 2023, although details are scarce at this time. According to a teaser posted earlier this month on Twitter, the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM will run at 240Hz and feature a 1440p resolution as well, but pricing and a release date have yet to be announced.

A glossy version of the above-mentioned LG Display OLED panel will also be used by Dough in its own 27-inch Spectrum OLED monitor, which will run at 240Hz with a 1440p resolution, but we have not heard anything about its appearance at CES 2023. Preorders begin at $649, and fulfillment is expected around July 2023 if you are willing to take the plunge.

In spite of the fact that we are looking forward to seeing what these new gaming monitors have to offer, we are still going to nitpick – literally in this case. The LG UltraGear OLED displays both claims to have an average brightness level of 200 nits, while the Corsair Xeneon Flex boasts an average brightness level of 150 nits. Due to their power requirements, heat, and burn-in risks, OLED displays are typically dimmer than LCD displays, but if you’re used to something like the Samsung Odyssey G9 (which has a typical brightness of 420 nits), these displays may seem quite subdued.

For some, the lack of 4K resolution may also be a deal-breaker, although it is worth keeping in mind that an extremely powerful gaming PC is required to run most games at that resolution and at 240Hz. The current generation of consoles will also not be adequate. It is generally accepted that 1440p provides great image quality without sacrificing refresh rate and, consequently, frame rate.

In the near future, 240Hz OLED displays will be available for consumers who enjoy fast-paced competitive shooters as well as beautiful, graphics-intensive games. We are seeing some very high prices with new technology, but that is to be expected. Perhaps when the next generation of OLED gaming monitors reaches 500Hz, I will be able to afford one of the above models.
