Actor Can Yaman broke his silence in Rome after being detained and later released in connection with a drug investigation involving prominent figures. He strongly refuted the accusations, choosing to address the matter publicly in front of the Italian press rather than the Turkish media.

Yaman, a well-known actor detained during a celebrity-targeted drug operation, issued his first statement in Rome after his release. He categorically denied the charges and criticized the Turkish press.

“IF IT WERE TRUE, I COULDN’T HAVE RETURNED TO ITALY.”
Yaman quickly returned to Rome after his release, making a social media statement to the Italian press:

“Dear Italian press, the Turkish media has always been unkind to me, but that’s nothing new! Not you, though! Please don’t make the mistake of blindly copying news from the Bosphorus. Do you honestly believe I would be hanging out in clubs with drugs when the police are conducting widespread investigations into many famous personalities? If that were even remotely accurate, I wouldn’t have been released so swiftly, nor would I be able to return to Italy the next day. I love you. 🇮🇹.”

This message clearly emphasizes his affection for Italy, where he moved about five years ago to rebuild his career. Many social media users echoed his sentiment, appreciating his choice to communicate primarily with the Italian audience rather than the Turkish.

Digital Phablet – Can Yaman and Selen Gorguzel Detained in Major Istanbul Drug Raid

Overnight, police conducted a major operation in Istanbul, raiding nine nightclubs and apprehending well-known Turkish actors Can Yaman and Selen Gorguzel. The investigation is now expanding to explore potential connections between celebrities and drug-related activities.

According to reports in Turkey on Saturday, both Yaman and Gorguzel are scheduled for blood tests at the Forensic Medicine Institute.

The case is currently managed by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office’s Smuggling, Narcotics, and Economic Crimes Division.

Authorities meticulously searched nine venues across Istanbul.
Following a late-night directive from the prosecutor, police raided nine clubs, discovering illegal substances at several locations.

Those linked to the seized drugs, including club owners and management, have been detained.

The investigation also suggests that someone had potentially disclosed information about Yaman’s alleged drug use to others.

Four individuals were taken into custody at the Bebek Hotel.

The police conducted a three-hour search at a beachfront hotel in Bebek, as part of the ongoing investigation into the drug incident from January 5.

Six specially trained canines with scent detection capabilities assisted in the search, and evidence was collected before the teams departed.

Detainees such as Selen Gorguzel, Ayse Saglam, former host Nilufer Batur Tokgoz, and Ceren Alper were identified at the hotel operated by the detained producer Muzuffer Yildirim.

Recently, Gorguzel returned to Turkey after an international trip.

While gendarmerie officers searched the Bebek Hotel, narcotics police from Istanbul’s Narcotics Bureau also conducted searches on one of the city’s most well-known venues, Klein Phonix.

The investigation encompasses charges including “possessing drugs or stimulants for personal use,” “assisting drug use,” and “encouraging or facilitating prostitution, or providing a location for it.”
