Top Perk Builds for Eleven in Dead by Daylight: Completing and Solving

Eleven has joined the roster in the second Stranger Things chapter of Dead By Daylight, alongside Dustin Henderson and Vecna, known as The First. Each new character brings three unique perks that players can unlock and upgrade through the Bloodweb. Once leveled up, these perks become available to all Survivors.

Eleven’s perks draw inspiration from her psychic abilities and her personality from the show. They are designed to support team play and enhance stealth strategies. Here’s a breakdown of her perks and some suggested builds for using them effectively:

    Eleven’s Perks:

    • Extrasensory Perception: Lets you see the auras of nearby objects and players after crouching for four seconds. It highlights totems and chests within 44 meters for 11 seconds. During this time, you also gain Oblivious and Elusive effects, but the perk goes on cooldown afterward.
    • We See You: Allows you to reveal the Killer’s aura to your teammates when they perform break actions like kicking a generator or breaking a pallet or door.
    • Teamwork: Soft-Spoken: Reduces generator noise for other Survivors working with you and increases repair speed when working together.

All three perks work well together but are especially powerful when combined with specific perk builds. Extrasensory Perception supports stealthy gameplay and item detection; We See You is effective in coordination with aura-reading perks; and Soft-Spoken amplifies repair speeds for team-based strategies.

When upgraded to Prestige 3, Eleven’s perks can be shared with all Survivors, increasing their versatility.

    Build Example: Extrasensory Perception Focus
This setup emphasizes stealth and aura reading by combining Extrasensory Perception with Urban Invasion, which allows crouch walking with a 100% Haste boost—great for sneaky play. Adding Alert enhances functionalities by revealing Killer auras when they break or kick generators, while Sprint Burst provides an escape option if you find yourself in danger.

    Key perks and their functions:

    • Extrasensory Perception: When crouching for 4 seconds, reveal auras within 44 meters for 11 seconds, gaining Oblivious and Elusive effects.
    • Urban Invasion: Allows crouch walking at full Haste.
    • Alert: Shows Killer’s aura for 5 seconds after they break a generator, pallet, or door.
    • Sprint Burst: After starting to run, gain a 50% speed boost for 3 seconds, followed by exhaustion for 40 seconds.

    Teamwork: Soft-Spoken Build
This build focuses on maximizing generator repair speed through perk synergy, creating a fast-paced gen-rushing strategy that can intimidate Killer players. Combining Prove Thyself increases repair speed when working with others, while perks like De Ja Vu and Teamwork: Full Circuit expand control over generators and improve skill check effectiveness. Using a toolbox with Brand New Part and Spring Clamp adds a temporary repair speed surge, charges automatically repaired, and reduces noise, making repair even faster and quieter.

Because Soft-Spoken only activates when paired with another Survivor on the same generator, pairing it with Better Together can highlight the generator you’re working on, which helps solo players coordinate with teammates.

    Perks:

    • Teamwork: Soft-Spoken: Noise reduction on generators when others are working with you and a small repair speed boost.
    • Prove Thyself: Boosts repair speed when coworkers are present.
    • De Ja Vu: Shows the three closest generators, increasing repair speed by 6% on each.
    • Teamwork: Full Circuit: Enlarges good Skill Check zones with more Survivors, boosting repair speed.

    We See You Build
Utilizes We See You in conjunction with aura-reading perks like Object of Obsession, Eyes of Belmont, and Kindred to gather information about the Killer’s position. This build excels against Killers with aura-reading perks of their own, enabling quick information gathering and strategic play.

    Perk highlights:

    • We See You: Gains a token each time the Killer sees your aura; on four tokens, reveals the Killer’s aura to the entire team temporarily.
    • Bound By Obsession: When your aura is seen by the Killer, you also see their aura and gain bonus speeds when healing or repairing.
    • Eyes of Belmont: Reveals the Killer’s aura for three seconds after completing generators, increasing the visibility duration with each reveal.
    • Kindred: Shows all survivor auras and the Killer’s aura near hooks when hooked; also reveals other survivor auras when you’re on the hook.

These builds exemplify how Eleven’s perks can be adapted for stealth, fast generator completion, or strategic information gathering, depending on player preference and team coordination.

  • How to Play Vecna the First: Solving and Completing in Dead by Daylight

How to Play Vecna the First: Solving and Completing in Dead by Daylight

The second chapter of Stranger Things has been added to Dead By Daylight, bringing along a new Killer and two Survivors, just like the first chapter. Dustin Henderson, Eleven, and The First each have three unique perks that you can eventually incorporate into your own perk setups.

The First, known as Vecna by the kids in Stranger Things, has special abilities that involve the Upside Down. He can weaken and eventually sacrifice Survivors using his powers. Here’s everything you need to understand about how to use his abilities and the best perk combinations to maximize his effectiveness.

The First’s Unique Power and Perks

The First’s main ability is a Vine Attack, which uses the power of the twisting vines from the Upside Down. This attack appears as a red portal on the ground that can be moved to hit Survivors. The secondary ability is the Undergate, a large red portal that activates when The First enters the Upside Down, traveling just below the surface of the ground.

Tip: Aim the Vine Attack where the Survivor is about to go, not where they are now.

When the Vine Attack or Undergate hits a Survivor, they gain a Worldbreaker token. Accumulating four tokens (which is the starting amount) activates Worldbreaker mode. At this point, all players are transported to a spooky, red-tinted version of the map called the Upside Down.

While in Worldbreaker mode, The First can hit Survivors with his vine attack to injure them instead of gaining tokens. Once a Survivor has all the Worldbreaker tokens and is hooked twice, you can perform a mini-mori called the Mind Break after catching them in a Vine Attack again.

His perks are generator-focused, slowing down repair progress in different ways. These perks complement his attack style, giving him extra time to trap Survivors with his powers. Though Vecna is relatively slow moving at 4.4 m/s, his ability to hit from a distance and apply tokens or injuries makes him a threat. He’s also faster when moving through the Undergate.

Tip: While traveling in the Undergate, he can pass through the ground under pallets and vaults.

His speed is a weakness for closing loops on foot, so it’s important to use his special abilities to apply Worldbreaker tokens and disrupt Survivors during their loops in the Upside Down.

Locked for all players at Prestige 3, all of The First’s perks unlock for everyone. These perks are designed to monitor generator progress, block or explode generators, and hinder Survivor progress. The key perks include:

    Perk Description Guide
Turn Back The Clock After hooking a Survivor, you have 60 seconds to target a nearby generator and cause it to regress by 10%. Use Power button to explode a generator within 20 meters after hooking a survivor.
Secret Project When a totem is cleansed or blessed, it blocks a generator for 30 seconds and grants undetectable status for 30 seconds. Pair with perks that block generators to stay undetectable.
Hex: Hive Mind After hooking your first Survivor, a dull totem becomes a Hex totem. All generators are highlighted, and when only one remains, all explode and regress. Use with other Hex perks for maximum effect.

Best perk setups for The First:

Turn Back The Clock Perk Build
Begin with perks like Lethal Pursuer to find your first victim quickly. Focus on damaging generators and controlling others to slow the game.

    Perk Description Guide
Hex: Hive Mind Shows generator progress for all generators, useful for applying Turn Back The Clock. Track generator status visually.
Lethal Pursuer Reveals all survivors’ auras for 9 seconds at the start. Catch survivors early and hook quickly to activate your perks.
Oppression Damages a generator and causes four others to regress, while making repairing survivors face difficult skill checks. Use to slow down repairs and gather info on their location.

    Secret Project Build
This build makes use of generator-blocking perks like Deadlock, Grim Embrace, or Corrupt Intervention, which complement Secret Project’s ability to stay undetectable after totem cleansing.

    Perk Description Guide
Deadlock / No Holds Barred Blocks the generator with most progress when another is completed, and grants undetectable from Secret Project. Use to stall multiple generator progress.
Grim Embrace Blocks generators for 10 seconds after hooking a survivor, increasing to 40 seconds when all survivors are hooked once, and shows the Obsession. Use to keep generators from advancing.
Corrupt Intervention Blocks the 3 furthest generators at trial start, giving you time to set up. Pair with Secret Project to stay undetectable from the start.

    Hex: Hive Mind Build
Sometimes, a full Hex build is enough to spice up matches. Hex: Hive Mind grants good information on generator progress; when its totem is cleansed, the perk disappears, so backup perks like Thrill Of The Hunt, Hex: Pentimento, and Hex: The Third Seal add more layers of disruption.

    Perk Description Guide
Hex: Thrill Of The Hunt Produces tokens for each remaining Hex totem, decreasing Survivor totem cleansing rates. Use to slow down their healing and cleansing.
Hex: Pentimento Allows relighting of cleansed totems; relit totems slow healing and repairing, and become unrecoverable if all are re-lit. Keep totems re-lit for control.
Hex: The Third Seal After injuring a Survivor, they are blinded and their aura becomes hidden, preventing them from seeing other Hex totems. Block their awareness of your positioning.

Using these perks and strategies, The First can efficiently control generators, limit Survivor progress, and enforce his command over the map, especially when combined with his unique powers.

  • Top Perk Builds for Michonne Grimes in Dead by Daylight: Completing and Solving

Top Perk Builds for Michonne Grimes in Dead by Daylight: Completing and Solving

Dead by Daylight players have been eagerly awaiting the addition of Rick and Michonne Grimes ever since Behavior Interactive dropped subtle hints in the 2025 roadmap. These characters are straight from The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live and are now part of the large list of playable Survivors. Each has three unique perks that influence gameplay.

Once you level up Michonne’s Bloodweb to at least Prestige Three with Bloodpoints, you can use her perks on any Survivor. These perks can significantly change strategies and improve chances in matches.

    Michonne Grimes’s Unique Perks

Michonne arrives with three fresh perks inspired by her character in The Walking Dead. Her perks allow her to get one more shot at surviving, stand up to the Killer, and help teammates escape.

Here’s a look at her perks:

    Perk Description Guide
Conviction Sometimes, a final push makes all the difference between dying and surviving. After healing yourself or another Survivor, Conviction activates. While in the Dying State, you can recover instantly after reaching 25% progress. You then remain broken and will re-enter Dying after 20/25/30 seconds.
Last Stand When things get tough, your fighting spirit shines. Activates after being in the Killer’s terror radius without being chased for 90-120 seconds. Complete a rushed vault to stun the Killer for three seconds when they are within 2.5 meters. This perk only works once per game.
Teamwork: Throw Down Empowering allies is key to turning the tide. From the start, blind the Killer or stun them at a pallet to grant all injured Survivors within 24 meters Endurance. This encourages close teamwork.

Note: Michonne’s perks require being close to the Killer, so they might not be ideal for newer Survivors nervous about chases.

Best Build and Perk Combinations for Michonne

To maximize her strengths, use perks centered around survival, escape, and supporting teammates. The three perks work well together and can also help you earn the Adept Michonne achievement.

It’s advisable to level her Bloodweb extensively to unlock general perks like Hope, Kindred, or Resilience. You can also unlock perks from other Survivors by reaching Prestige Three or buying them in the Shrine of Secrets.

    Suggested Perk Combos for Conviction:

    • Jonah’s Boon: Exponential — Creates a safe spot for self-recovery, allowing you to get out of the Dying State without aid. Pair with Small Game to locate Totems quickly and Mikaela’s Boon: Shadow Step to hide your scratch marks while healing.
    • Cheryl’s Soul Guard — Grants eight seconds of Endurance after self-healing from Conviction, especially useful in end-game scenarios. Since Conviction can be used multiple times, this combo keeps you alive longer.

    Last Stand and Perk Combinations

Last Stand can be fun but requires you to hide within the Killer’s Terror Radius for about 90 seconds. Use these perks to make hiding and escaping easier:

    Perk Description Guide
Nea’s Urban Evasion Allows quick crouch-walking to hide effectively. Useful for staying hidden when Last Stand is active.
Kate’s Windows of Opportunity & Feng’s Lithe Know all window and pallet locations, then use high-speed vaults to escape. Keeps you mobile even after Last Stand ends.
Kate’s Dance With Me Hide your scratch marks briefly to help escape. Good if you’re familiar with map layouts.

Teamwork: Throw Down works well here too — blinding or pallet stunning the Killer grants injured teammates Endurance. Combining it with other perks like Last Stand or blinding perks like Jill’s Blast Mine can turn the tide against the Killer.

    Additional ideas include:

    • Yui’s Any Means Necessary — Allows quick recovery from dropped pallets, prolonging pallet usage.
    • Dwight’s Bond — Helps keep track of teammates’ positions based on their movements and actions, supporting coordinated efforts.

    • Iranian minister calls Israeli documents a “treasure trove”.
    • States documents provide information on Israel’s nuclear sites.
    • No immediate response from Israel regarding Iran’s assertion.

DUBAI: Iranian Minister of Intelligence Esmail Khatib announced on state television on Sunday that sensitive Israeli documents recently obtained by Tehran will be revealed soon, categorizing them as a “treasure trove” that would enhance Iran’s offensive capabilities.

According to Iranian state media, intelligence agencies have accessed a significant collection of sensitive Israeli documents. Khatib indicated that these documents pertain to Israel’s nuclear facilities, as well as its relationships with the U.S., Europe, and other nations, along with its defensive capacities.

There has not been an immediate official comment from the Israeli government.

It remains uncertain if this information leak was connected to a previously reported cyberattack on an Israeli nuclear research facility last year, which Tehran is now disclosing amid rising tensions over its nuclear ambitions.

“Acquiring this treasure trove took time and required careful security protocols. While the methods of acquisition will remain confidential, the documents will be revealed shortly,” Khatib stated, adding that the volume of documents is substantial — “thousands of documents would be an understatement.”

In 2018, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claimed that Israeli operatives had seized a massive “archive” of Iranian documents revealing Tehran’s more extensive nuclear work than previously acknowledged.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously threatened to conduct airstrikes against Iran if a nuclear agreement was not reached, but he reportedly obstructed an Israeli plan to strike Iranian nuclear sites in favor of pursuing negotiations with Tehran.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated on Wednesday that halting uranium enrichment is “100%” against Iran’s interests, disregarding a key demand from the U.S. in ongoing talks aimed at resolving a long-standing dispute over Tehran’s nuclear ambitions.

Western authorities assert that Iran is enriching uranium to a high degree of fissile purity, nearing the threshold suitable for atomic bomb fuel. However, Iran has consistently denied any intentions of pursuing nuclear weapons.

  • Musk Targets Uncrewed Starship Mars Mission by Late 2026

Musk Targets Uncrewed Starship Mars Mission by Late 2026

Sure! Here’s a unique rewrite of the provided content in American English:

    —

After facing a series of setbacks during test flights for his new Mars spacecraft, Starship, Elon Musk announced on Thursday that he anticipates the vehicle will embark on its first uncrewed journey to the red planet by the end of next year.

In a detailed video shared by his rocket company, SpaceX, Musk outlined the Starship development schedule just one day after revealing his exit from the administration of President Donald Trump, where he had been heavily involved in efforts to reduce government bureaucracy.

The billionaire emphasized his intent to devote more time to his various ventures, including SpaceX and Tesla, the electric vehicle and battery manufacturer.

Musk admitted that the timeline for reaching Mars depends on Starship’s ability to successfully perform several complex tasks during its upcoming flight tests, particularly a critical refueling operation in Earth’s orbit.

The end of 2026 is key, as this period aligns with a two-year window when Mars and Earth are closest, making the journey take between seven to nine months by spacecraft.

He assessed the chances of meeting this timeline at about 50-50. If Starship isn’t ready by then, SpaceX would consider postponing the launch for another two years.

The initial mission to Mars is expected to carry a simulated crew of Tesla-designed humanoid robots, with crewed missions following in the second or third landings. Musk envisions launching 1,000 to 2,000 Starships to Mars every two years to establish a permanent human settlement quickly.

NASA aims to land humans on the moon aboard Starship by as early as 2027—more than 50 years after the last Apollo missions—serving as a precursor to eventual manned trips to Mars in the 2030s.

Musk has advocated for a more Mars-centric human spaceflight program and had previously aimed for an unmanned SpaceX mission to Mars in 2018, with a crewed mission anticipated in 2024.

On Tuesday night, Musk was slated to give a live presentation titled “The Road to Making Life Multiplanetary” from SpaceX’s Starbase in Texas following the ninth test flight of Starship. However, the livestream was unexpectedly canceled after the spacecraft lost control and exploded approximately 30 minutes post-launch, failing to accomplish some key testing objectives.

Past test flights had also ended disastrously; in January and March, the spacecraft disintegrated shortly after takeoff, scattering debris over the Caribbean and causing numerous commercial flights to alter their routes.

Musk downplayed the latest incident on Twitter, suggesting it provided valuable data for analysis and assured a quicker schedule for future test flights.

Ukraine Faces Record Drone Attack Following Trump’s Putin Critique

Emergency Response to Rocket Strike in Ukraine

    • Russia launched a historic wave of attacks, firing "355 Shahed-type drones" and nine cruise missiles.
    • The Kremlin warned that expanding missile capabilities for Ukraine is perilous.
    • Donald Trump labeled Putin as "crazy" in an unusual critique of the Russian leader.

    The Latest Developments

On Monday, authorities reported that Russia executed its largest drone strike on Ukraine, coinciding with Trump’s comment on social media, wherein he warned that further Russian aggression could lead to new sanctions. The U.S. President has aimed to mediate an end to the ongoing conflict, but efforts have yet to yield significant concessions from the Kremlin.

For three nights in a row, Ukraine faced extensive drone assaults, overwhelming its air defenses and resulting in at least 13 fatalities on Sunday alone. According to Ukraine’s air force, the unprecedented strike involved "355 Shahed-type drones," some serving as decoys, as well as nine cruise missiles.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz indicated on Monday that Western allies had lifted restrictions on the range of arms supplied to Ukraine, enabling Kyiv to target "military installations within Russia." However, the timeline for this policy shift and the countries involved remain unclear.

The Kremlin responded to any potential increase in missile capabilities for Ukraine as "dangerous," claiming it contradicts ongoing peace efforts. In a rare critique, Trump stated, "I’ve always had a great relationship with Vladimir Putin, but he has absolutely lost it." He emphasized that Putin aims to control all of Ukraine, a fate that could lead to Russia’s own downfall.

Trump also expressed his discontent with the ongoing Russian attacks and confirmed he was "absolutely" considering stronger sanctions against Moscow. Meanwhile, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed hope that Trump’s outrage would translate into actionable measures, emphasizing that Putin remains unwilling to pursue peace.

    A Pivotal Moment

The Kremlin downplayed Trump’s statements, asserting that Putin’s actions are aligned with ensuring Russia’s security. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov described the current situation as a "critical moment" filled with emotional strain for everyone involved.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky remarked that the rise in Russian assaults signifies a perception of "impunity." He insisted that the escalation should prompt increased sanctions against Russia.

Since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, tens of thousands of lives have been lost, and numerous towns and cities have been devastated, sparking the most significant crisis in U.S.-Russia relations since the Cold War.

Kyiv reported no casualties from the latest drone assault; however, a civilian was killed due to Russian shelling in the northern Sumy region within the past 24 hours.

Ukrainian Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ignat warned that countering the overwhelming volume of drones is becoming increasingly difficult. He urged for "rational and more affordable methods" to intercept them. A military source advised that while Ukraine is effectively engaging with its current air defense capabilities, there is no reason to panic. They stressed the importance of Western weapon deliveries, including Patriot missiles and NASAMS medium-range systems.

In the Sumy region, Russia claimed to have seized two border villages as part of an ongoing offensive.

    Diplomatic Efforts Intensify

In recent weeks, diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the conflict have gained momentum, with Russian and Ukrainian officials engaging in direct talks in Istanbul for the first time in three years. They conducted their largest prisoner exchange to date, returning 1,000 individuals over the weekend. Russia is reportedly preparing to outline its peace terms.

Further potential prisoner exchanges depend on ongoing discussions with Ukraine, according to Peskov, who noted that Moscow is still drafting a ceasefire memorandum.

Russia has consistently dismissed proposals for a 30-day ceasefire put forth by Kyiv and its Western allies while steadily advancing along the front lines. Instead, Putin has suggested creating a document that lays out ceasefire conditions, drawing criticism from Ukraine for what is perceived as stalling tactics.

Ukraine’s SBU security service announced on Monday that several individuals, including a teenager, have been detained for allegedly acting as informants for Moscow, aiding Russian strikes against Ukraine.

  • Protests Erupt in Bangladesh Amid Rising Pressure on Yunus’ Govt

Protests Erupt in Bangladesh Amid Rising Pressure on Yunus’ Govt

Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim Government, addresses a joint press conference with Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Dhaka on October 4, 2024.

    • Public sector protests erupt over recent ordinance and salary demands.
    • Political tension intensifies amid disputes over the election timeline.
    • Yunus engages in discussions with major political parties.

On Monday, primary school teachers in Bangladesh joined public sector workers in protests against the interim government, fueled by rising frustration and political instability in the South Asian nation.

Nobel Peace Prize winner Muhammad Yunus, who took the helm as interim leader last August following violent protests from students that led to the ousting of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, is currently steering a nation of 173 million through a tumultuous transition.

His administration has been under pressure from various groups, including civil servants, educators, political factions, and even the military, as they aim to navigate this precarious period ahead of the upcoming general election.

Recently, the government enacted an ordinance that permits the Ministry of Public Administration to dismiss public employees for misconduct without lengthy procedures, causing backlash within the civil service.

Protesters maintained their demonstrations for a third day, labeling the ordinance as “repressive” and demanding its immediate repeal.

In addition, thousands of government primary school teachers initiated an indefinite strike on Monday, pressing for an increase in wages.

Amid protests from employees of the National Board of Revenue, the interim government withdrew a controversial decision to disband the tax agency in favor of two new divisions under the finance ministry, prompting the strike to be called off.

Political uncertainty deepened last week when a prominent student leader suggested that Yunus could step down if political parties fail to reach a consensus on reforms and election scheduling.

However, Wahiduddin Mahmud, a planning adviser in Yunus’s cabinet, insisted that the de facto prime minister has no plans to resign, stating, “We are not leaving until our mission is complete.” He acknowledged the challenges ahead but affirmed Yunus’s commitment to a fair election.

The interim government is caught between competing demands for swift elections and necessary reforms. Yunus indicated that elections might occur by June 2026, while the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia, is advocating for polls to take place by December.

General Waker-Uz-Zaman, the army chief, added to the urgency, calling for December elections during a recent speech, expressing concern over the political climate.

In response, Yunus convened an urgent meeting of his Advisory Council on Saturday and engaged in discussions over the weekend with key political players, including the BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and the student-led National Citizen Party.

Moreover, leaders of various political groups also met with Yunus during this period.

“We are in a wartime scenario,” stated Shafiqul Alam, Yunus’s press secretary, to the media on Sunday. “Following a ban on Awami League activities, there are various attempts to destabilize us. We need to navigate this situation.”

This month, the registration of Hasina’s Awami League party was suspended, effectively preventing the party from participating in the next elections.

In a groundbreaking operation, conservationists successfully herded 16 critically endangered banteng into a truck using a helicopter in Cambodia. This milestone is especially noteworthy given the country’s ongoing struggle with deforestation.

Banteng are a type of wild cattle found in Southeast Asia and are classified as critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).

These animals typically inhabit forests and grasslands, but only a few thousand remain in the wild, primarily threatened by hunting, logging, and industrial activities.

According to Global Forest Watch, Cambodia has lost approximately 33% of its tree cover since 2000, as the government permits companies to clear extensive areas, even in designated protected regions.

Conservation organizations Rising Phoenix and Siem Pang revealed that over three days last week, they managed to guide 16 wild banteng into a “mass-capture funnel trap,” successfully relocating them to a wildlife sanctuary.

This operation marked the first use of a helicopter to steer the animals through the funnel.

The operation was conducted in Siem Pang, northeastern Cambodia.

The conservation groups expressed that this innovative approach paves the way for similar initiatives to relocate banteng confined in isolated patches of forest across the country.

They also mentioned that the banteng will be closely monitored and safeguarded at the Siem Pang Wildlife Sanctuary.

In a scene echoing the dramatic visit of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy earlier this year, Trump confronted Ramaphosa with dubious accusations regarding the alleged genocide of white South Africans, including false claims of land seizures and mass violence.

This latest encounter highlighted Trump’s willingness to use one of the most prestigious settings in American politics for unexpected confrontations, likely aiming to embarrass leaders from countries perceived as less powerful or to press them on issues he fervently discusses.

Such unconventional tactics may deter other foreign leaders from accepting invitations to the White House for fear of public embarrassment. This reluctance could complicate diplomatic ties with allies, particularly as China endeavors to strengthen its relationships with African nations.

Patrick Gaspard, who served as the US ambassador to South Africa during the Obama administration, criticized the meeting as a “shameful spectacle” in which Trump berated Ramaphosa with misleading depictions of violence and rhetoric.

“Negotiating on Trump’s terms rarely ends well for anyone,” Gaspard noted in a post on social media platform X.

Initially framed as an opportunity to mend the fraught relationship between the US and South Africa—especially following Trump’s imposition of tariffs—the meeting aimed to address Trump’s unsubstantiated claims of “white genocide” and his proposition to relocate white Afrikaners.

After a seemingly cordial beginning, Trump, a former reality TV star, darkened the room and showcased a video along with printed articles that he claimed proved persecution against white South Africans.

Ramaphosa, visibly prepared to refute these accusations, maintained his composure, seeking to counter the narrative promoted by Trump without directly criticizing the President, who is known for being sensitive to criticism.

“I apologize for not having a plane to offer you,” Ramaphosa joked, referencing the luxury jet Qatar proposed to Trump as a replacement for Air Force One.

His spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, remarked that Ramaphosa was clearly being provoked but handled the situation with poise.

The White House did not respond immediately regarding whether the meeting was designed to set Ramaphosa on the back foot, nor did it comment on the potential ramifications for future diplomatic visits.

Cameron Hudson, a senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, described the televised segment of the meeting as a circus that remained civil and did not escalate into anger.

    Contrasting Meetings:

This encounter starkly contrasted with Trump’s earlier meeting with Zelenskiy, which devolved into a heated shouting match involving both him and Vice President JD Vance. In that instance, Zelenskiy was also attempting to rebuild diplomatic ties while securing military assistance from the US amid ongoing conflict with Russia.

The nature of Trump’s meeting on Wednesday may have been less critical in terms of global ramifications, yet South Africa is a significant political and economic player in Africa, with China serving as its primary trading partner, while the US ranks second.

Despite centuries of oppression against Black South Africans during colonialism and apartheid, which ended in 1994 under Nelson Mandela, the government of South Africa has refuted Trump’s allegations.

Trump’s choice to spotlight these unverified claims seemed tailored to certain segments of his political base, particularly among far-right and white nationalist groups, who have historically promoted the idea of a “white genocide” narrative in South Africa.

By presenting these unverified reports of violence against white farmers and framing land reform as racial discrimination, Trump tapped into themes that resonate deeply with segments of the right-wing extremist community in the US.

Since resuming office in January, Trump has terminated aid to South Africa, expelled its ambassador, and initiated efforts to resettle certain white Afrikaners, all based on claims Pretoria deems unfounded. The land reform initiative in South Africa seeks to address the injustices of apartheid by allowing for expropriations without compensation for public interest, though no such actions have been executed yet, and any such decisions can be legally challenged.

Tim Marshall, a British foreign affairs commentator, remarked on the meticulous planning behind the Zelenskiy meeting, indicating a broader trend of whitehouse orchestrated confrontations.

    Summary

The Palm of the Oval Office, historically a symbol of honor for visiting dignitaries, was used by Trump as a platform for political theatrics, raising significant questions about his diplomatic style and its effects on future international relations.

Updated by Allyson Cochran on December 24, 2024: A few more perk combinations have been added to help you optimize your Sable build.

    Sable Ward’s Unique Perks

Sable Ward brings three Unique Perks to Dead by Daylight, introducing a new perk type that centers around the Basement. These perks combine elements of risk and reward:

    1. Invocation: Weaving Spiders

      • "The place where fear festers and terror treads is also where those with the gift can reach across the veil."
      • An Invocation circle appears in the Basement that you can interact with, taking 120 seconds to complete. Other Survivors can see your aura and help you, boosting the speed of the Invocation. When finished, you’ll become Injured and receive the Broken status effect for the remainder of the match. Additionally, it reduces the maximum required generator charge for remaining generators. Completing this invocation disables that perk type for all Survivors.
    2. Strength In Shadows

      • "A chance for renewed power down where danger calls home."
      • While in the Basement, this perk allows you to self-heal without a Med-kit at 70% of the normal healing speed. After healing in the Basement, you can see the Killer’s aura for a limited time.
    3. Wicked
      • "They can try to hurt you. But you’re not going down so easily."
      • This perk ensures your self-unhook attempts in the Basement are always successful. Additionally, upon unhooking yourself or being unhooked, you’ll see the Killer’s aura for a short duration.

Warning: Since all of Sable’s Unique Perks involve the Basement, be aware that Killers may use the perk Territorial Imperative, which reveals Survivors’ auras upon entering the Basement.

Best Builds and Perk Combos for Sable Ward

As you advance through Sable’s Bloodweb, you’ll unlock stronger perks. You can mix and match perks to create effective builds. Below are some tried-and-true suggestions you might find useful:

    • Dead Hard: After being unhooked, activate a brief Endurance status that helps you survive Killer attacks.
    • Déjà Vu: Highlights three remaining Generators while increasing your repair speed on them.
    • Distortion: Spend tokens to hide your aura from the Killer.
    • Lithe: After performing a fast vault, quickly begin running again.

To earn the Adept Sable achievement, you must escape a trial using only Sable’s unique perks.

While Sable’s three Unique Perks work well together, you can choose a fourth perk that complements her abilities.

    Invocation: Weaving Spiders Perk Combos

The Invocation: Weaving Spiders perk promotes a trade-off between risk and reward. It enhances generator repair speed, especially in tight situations, but leaves the initiating Survivor Broken.

A potential build could employ No Mither, which starts you off Broken but gives several advantages, including a suppressed blood pool, reduced pain sounds, and a faster recovery speed. With this combo, you can initiate the Invocation perk right at the start, benefiting all Generators early on.

You may also consider perks like Resilience, which boosts interaction speeds when injured, or Déjà Vu or Prove Thyself, both of which improve generator repair times.

    Strength In Shadows Perk Combos

Strength In Shadows allows you to self-heal and reveals the Killer’s aura. This perk pairs well with others that also expose the Killer, helping you navigate their location effectively.

Some of the top perks to pair with this include:

    • Fogwise: Reveals the Killer’s aura after you succeed with a Great Skill Check during generator repairs.
    • Wiretap: After successfully repairing a Generator, it reveals the Killer’s aura if they come close.
    • Iron Will: Suppresses your pain sounds, making it harder for the Killer to track you while healing.
    • Desperate Measures: Increases your healing and unhooking speed for each injured, hooked, or dying Survivor.

    Wicked Perk Combos

The Wicked perk, while useful for unhooking yourself in the Basement, also reveals the Killer’s aura when unhooked.

Combining it with other perks can help you evade a possible tunneling Killer:

    • Aftercare: Reveals auras of Survivors that you’ve healed or unhooked, and vice versa.
    • Deception: Fakes entering a locker to mislead the Killer while suppressing your scratch marks and blood pools.
    • Lightweight: Reduces the duration of your scratch marks, aiding your escape.

This perk also synergizes with other aura-revealing perks, providing you with valuable information to dodge the Killer effectively.
