Blue Prince: Unlocking the West Gate

In the game "Blue Prince," opening the West Gate can be an exciting challenge. Here’s a straightforward guide to help you navigate this task.

    1. Gather Resources: Start by collecting all necessary items you might need. This includes tools, keys, or any specific objects that are essential for opening the gate.

    2. Locate the West Gate: Make your way to the West Gate area. Pay attention to your surroundings, as there may be clues or interactions that can assist you.

    3. Solve Puzzles: Often, gates in games are guarded by puzzles or challenges. Look for any clues that might hint at the solution. Take your time to analyze the situation.

    4. Interact with Characters: Talk to any non-playable characters (NPCs) nearby. They may offer valuable information or items that could help you in your quest.

    5. Use the Right Key or Item: Once you have everything you need, try using the key or item you’ve collected on the West Gate. If the gate does not open right away, make sure you’re using the correct item and are in the right spot.

    6. Check for Hidden Areas: If the gate remains locked, explore around the area. Sometimes, there are hidden passages or mechanisms that must be activated to unlock the gate.

    7. Patience is Key: Don’t rush through this process. Take your time to explore and interact with your environment, as this often leads to solutions.

By following these steps, you should be able to successfully open the West Gate in "Blue Prince." Enjoy your adventure!

  • Completing the 8 Trophy/Achievement in Blue Prince: A Guide

Completing the 8 Trophy/Achievement in Blue Prince: A Guide

In the game Blue Prince, most rooms can be accessed simply by navigating the layout and exploring. However, some rooms are only reachable by using a key or by solving one of the manor’s numerous puzzles.

Room 8 requires both a key and solving a puzzle for entry. Once inside, you’ll encounter yet another challenge. If you’re having trouble locating this room or completing its puzzle, keep reading for the answers you need.

    How to Access Room 8

The key to Room 8 can only be obtained by completing the Gallery Room Puzzle. The good news is that you only have to solve this puzzle once. After that, you will always have access to the Room 8 key whenever you enter the Gallery Room.

Next, you just need to find the correct door for the key. Room 8 can only be opened on the eighth row of the blueprint grid once you reach rank eight.

    How to Solve Room 8

As you enter Room 8, you’ll notice it mirrors a painting from one of the puzzles in the Gallery Room. Inside are eight bins, each labeled with one of the eight deadly sins.

These bins circle around a sideways number eight statue, which has pins sticking out of it, and a hide on the floor below.

To your left, sitting on individual shelves, are eight statues that each present a riddle. To solve the puzzle, you must connect the riddles to the appropriate bins for each statue. It’s similar to those logic puzzles often found in math exercises.

    Solutions for Room 8

    Statue

    Riddle

    Solution

    Penguin

    “The sum of my sin

    as it is penned

    is a number within

    the room we are in.”

Since you are in Room 8, logically, this sin should go in the bin labeled with eight letters. The answer is Gluttony.

    Lion

    “To first begin

    place me within

a bin with an ‘n’ within its sin.”

Several sins have the letter “N,” but only Envy fits perfectly in the middle and even sounds like a name when pronounced. The answer is Envy.

    Swan

    “I recommend

    you think again

    if I am ever in

a bin far from the fin.”

This one can be tricky, but the correct bin is actually the one near the picture of the shark fin on the left side. By process of elimination, you will discover that the answer is Lust.

    Dog

    “You won’t find my bin

    in between sin

for I deserve to be in

a bin down on the end.”

This riddle leads you to only two choices: Hubris or Mundanity. Since another statue fits in the Hubris bin, the dog belongs in Mundanity.

    Elephant

    “To my chagrin

    my neighbor’s sin

    is written thin

    to fit it all in.”

It may seem logical to choose Mundanity, but Gluttony’s letters also fit thinly, so the solution for the elephant is Wrath.

    Rabbit

    “I share a trend

    with my neighbor’s sin

    a letter and its twin

    appear on each bin.”

What you’re looking for are two bins with double letters in their names. Since the dog is with Mundanity (two Ns), the rabbit belongs in the Avarice bin.

    Bear

“If we spend a min or ten

    lounging in the den

    you’ll know which bin

    I’m often in.”

This one is simple; the bear is lounging in the den, so he goes in the Sloth bin.

    Monkey

    “The bin I tend

    to wind up in

    is near the bend

in the tail of the skin.”

Finally, the monkey says he belongs in the bin near the bend in the skin’s tail. Looking at the skin on the floor, the bend points to the Hubris bin, which is where the monkey statue goes.

    Room 8 Rewards

Once you’ve successfully placed all the statues in their correct bins, a panel will open in the wall where the shelves are located. Inside, you’ll find two allowance tokens. Each token increases your daily allowance by two, giving you an additional four coins each day.

The top reward, however, is The 8 Trophy, which also unlocks the achievement for completing the Room 8 puzzle at Rank 8.

  • Completing Blue Prince: Tips for Solving Step Challenges

Completing Blue Prince: Tips for Solving Step Challenges

Ever find yourself low on steps in Blue Prince just when you’re on the verge of solving a puzzle? It can be quite annoying, right? But there’s no need to fret! There are several ways to boost your step count and refill your supply while you play.

This guide will cover all the strategies you need to know to increase your step count in Blue Prince. From permanent additions and special rooms to food items and more, you’ll be well-equipped to earn more steps. You can even kick off your day with as many as 90 steps and gather more as you progress! Moreover, there’s a room combination that allows you to farm unlimited steps if fortune is on your side.

    Why Having More Steps Matters

Steps are the crucial element in Blue Prince, and effectively managing them is vital for your success. Each time you step into a room, you consume steps, regardless of whether you’ve been there before or not.

Some rooms require more than one step. For instance:

    • The Weight Room costs five steps to enter.
    • The Gymnasium costs two steps each time you enter.

Once you run out of steps, your in-game day concludes. This is particularly frustrating if you’ve just gained access to a crucial area, like the Antechamber, and are about to enter the Underground, only to discover you have no steps left. You’ll need to start fresh the next day, solving puzzles all over again just to reach your previous position.

This is why having more steps enhances your freedom to explore Mount Holly Manor at your own pace, allowing you to make the most of every gameplay session.

    Ways to Permanently Increase Steps

The Apple Orchard in Blue Prince features numerous apple trees and a wooden shack.

To permanently increase your steps in Blue Prince, you must unlock the Apple Orchard. This upgrade is one of the game’s Permanent Additions. With this, you will receive an additional 20 steps daily, raising your total to 70 steps.

You can increase the Steps you acquire from regular apples by drawing the Farmer’s Apple. When activated, each apple provides +5 Steps instead of the standard +2.

    Laboratory

    Varies based on experiments

The Laboratory’s computer may contain experiments that offer additional Steps.
If you reach the Laboratory, ensure you complete the periodic table puzzle to activate the lab’s machine and unlock a Permanent Addition.

    Sauna

    +20 Steps (next day)

Drafting this room provides +20 Steps the next day. You’re not required to enter it for the bonus, though there’s often a useful item inside.

    Combo: Antechamber + Bedroom

    Unlimited Steps

The Antechamber requires no Steps to enter. Therefore, by drafting a nearby bedroom, you can move back and forth between the two rooms and farm unlimited Steps. Although this method may not be what the Blue Prince developers intended, it remains effective as of now.

    Steps From Using Items

A Salt Shaker with a note stating it provides +1 Step whenever food is consumed.

You can find various items in your home or buy them from the Commissary using coins. Among these, the following five can help you gain extra Steps:

    Item

    Steps Gained

    Details

    Sleeping Mask

+5 Steps every time you enter any Purple room for the first time.

This includes bedrooms that were drafted before you obtained the Sleeping Mask.

    Salt Shaker

    +1 step per food item

Grants +1 Step for every food item consumed. The Salt Shaker works with any food source.

    Running Shoes

    Prevents Step loss

These shoes occasionally keep you from losing Steps while strolling through Mount Holly Manor. The effect is unpredictable.

    Hall Pass

    Prevents Step loss

The Hall Pass allows you to move between two connecting hallways without losing Steps.
It also removes the Gem cost for drafting a hallway if you’re already in a hallway.

    Lunch Box

    +10 to 15 Steps

Upon reaching Rank 5 with a Lunch Box, you’ll gain half of your dinner Steps.
You can purchase the Lunch Box from the Gift Shop for 15 Coins. It’s a one-time purchase. It will then be available in the Dining Room for you to collect.

  • Mastering the Boiler Room Puzzle in Blue Prince

Mastering the Boiler Room Puzzle in Blue Prince

As you explore the mansion in Blue Prince and unlock new rooms, you’ll eventually come across the Boiler Room. Unlike many areas of the game that feature straightforward puzzles, this room involves more complex connections and sequences that may be challenging if you’re unfamiliar with the game’s mechanics—especially if you haven’t been keeping notes.

The Boiler Room serves a unique purpose: it generates power that can be directed to a limited number of other rooms. However, activating it is not as simple as flipping a switch. Unlike the more straightforward Utility Closet, you’ll encounter a tricky pipe maze puzzle that you need to solve first. Below is a detailed guide on how to activate the Boiler Room, along with a brief overview of the rooms you can power once it’s up and running.

How to Activate the Boiler Room

When you enter the Boiler Room, you’ll quickly notice that it has two levels, unlike many other rooms in the mansion. This guide will specify actions to take on both the upper and lower levels, so keep track of your position.

    Lower Level: Tank #1

Start on the lower floor. Head down the stairs and look to your left to find a large green tank. Approach it and pull the lever. Steam will begin to flow through the pipes in the floor, indicating that the system is operational. Follow the pipe extending from the left side of the tank to a red pipe section on the ground, which can be rotated. Adjust that pipe so it’s perpendicular to the tank you just activated.

    Lower Level: Tank #2

Next, continue along the pipe route to find another rotatable pipe connecting to six possible openings. There’s also another tank nearby—watch how the moving panels in front of it respond as you adjust the pipe. Turn the pipe until the panels stop moving and you can see the valve; this may require some trial and error. Once aligned, go to the second pump and turn the valve.

Follow the steam from the pipes to find a lever on the right that needs to be turned to ensure the steam flows horizontally. Go back to the first red pipe and adjust it to run parallel to the first tank—this will activate an elevator, allowing you access to the upper level.

    Upper Level: Tank #3

When you arrive at the upper level, the third tank will be straight ahead, but don’t rush to activate it yet. First, walk to the lever at the end of the catwalk and pull it to raise a gate on your left. This opens a new pathway for future access, even after turning off the elevator—essential for completing the puzzle.

Now you can return to the third tank and turn the valve, then adjust the lever on the left pipe so it faces left. The third tank is active now, but we still need to get things running upstairs.

    Backtracking Downstairs

Go back downstairs and rotate the first red pipe to its original perpendicular position. Next, flip the lever on the vertical pipe between the two lower tanks to face upwards. Rotate the second red pipe as shown, ensuring it connects to the vertical pipe next to the boiler.

The boiler is now operational, but the elevator is still off. If you remembered to unlock the gate earlier, you can simply go back up the stairs and walk across the new section of catwalk to reach the central console. Press the “Activate” button to bring the Boiler Room to life.

Connecting the Boiler Room to Other Rooms

As you focus your attention on the central console, you’ll notice it has three directional arrows. Interacting with this console allows you to choose where to send power, but be cautious—only certain rooms can be linked to the Boiler Room.

To be powered by the Boiler Room, a room must have ducts and either be directly adjacent to it or connected through a series of other ducted rooms. Here’s a list of some rooms that meet these criteria (this may not include all possible room types):

    • Archives
    • Boiler Room
    • Darkroom
    • Laboratory
    • Locker Room
    • Passageway
    • Pump Room
    • Security Room

You can harness the Boiler Room to power any of these areas, which is essential for solving various puzzles throughout Blue Prince. For further guidance on unlocking specific areas, such as the Orchard or West Gate, refer to our other guides.

With this knowledge, you’re equipped to tackle the challenges the Boiler Room presents!

  • Solving the Dart Board Puzzle in Blue Prince’s Billiard Room

Solving the Dart Board Puzzle in Blue Prince’s Billiard Room

One of the first challenges you’ll face in Blue Prince is the Billiard Room, which, interestingly enough, requires solving straightforward problems using a dartboard as your guide. While this puzzle may seem simple, it demands a fair amount of game knowledge, much like the rest of the game. If you’re just starting out in Blue Prince, the Billiard Room is likely to leave you scratching your head at first. The instructions can be obscure and perplexing, but once you get the hang of it, you’ll find it as straightforward as a basic second-grade math problem – at least initially.

But before I reveal the solution, here’s a tip: Blue Prince is far more enjoyable when you figure things out on your own. To crack the Billiard Room puzzle, you’ll need to explore a few other rooms ahead of time, collecting specific clues and items (including a magnifying glass) before you revisit the dartboard. Blue Prince is serious about taking notes. However, I understand that hitting dead ends can be disheartening. So, I suggest going through this guide step by step, attempting to piece together the answers with each clue offered.

How to Locate a Magnifying Glass

    An Essential Tool

Before tackling the dartboard puzzle in Blue Prince, you’ll need a magnifying glass to understand its mechanics. The following rooms are your best bets for finding one, though whether you’ll be able to access these rooms during any particular playthrough is uncertain, and there’s no guarantee they’ll actually contain a magnifying glass:

    • Archive
    • Observatory
    • Nook
    • Security Room
    • Parlor

You could also purchase a magnifying glass at the Commissary or trade for one at the Trading Post. If luck is on your side and you find one, I recommend storing it in a Coat Closet for the next day before quitting; magnifying glasses are quite versatile. Once you have one, you’ll need to use it on a document titled "Noteworthy," which you can find elsewhere in the mansion to learn the full rules related to the dartboard puzzle.

How to Solve the Dartboard Puzzle Without a Magnifying Glass

    Interpreting the Board

If you choose not to find a magnifying glass or missed the chance to jot down the clues when they were accessible, here’s the information you’ll glean from the note:

    • Green = Addition
    • Yellow = Subtraction
    • Pink = Multiplication
    • Purple = Division

Whenever you view the dartboard, there will be various spaces colored in these shades. Your objective is to carry out the correct mathematical operation on the number, and then click the corresponding answer along the outer edge of the dartboard to progress.

    Performing the Calculations

The dartboard puzzle is one of the few truly random challenges in Blue Prince. I can’t provide you with the exact answer for your particular session since each time you encounter the Billiard Room, you’ll tackle different math problems with varying outcomes. Fortunately, since the numbers max out at 20, the challenges won’t be overly complex, but a basic grasp of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is essential.

You don’t need to know the game’s dart rules to solve the Billiard Room puzzle. You’ll always start at the center of the board and work outward. The bullseye equals zero, and your journey begins with a single green square representing a straightforward addition problem. For example, starting from zero, if we add five, our total becomes five. You’ll then select the seven on the board’s perimeter to move on.

For the second problem, there are two green squares: five and six. Starting from zero, you add five, then six, for a total of 11. That’s your answer.

Now, let’s consider a slightly complex example from an earlier image. This time, we have a green five, a yellow one, and a pink two. The calculations would go as follows: 0 + 5 = 5, 5 – 1 = 4, and 4 × 2 = 8, so eight is the final answer.

As you navigate several equations, each growing in complexity, the board’s face will eventually reveal a variety of keys: you might encounter standard keys, keycards, silver keys, or unique keys that unlock special rooms featuring permanent upgrades.

    Advanced Dart Board Puzzle

Certain puzzles in Blue Prince inevitably become harder as you progress. After you’ve solved the dartboard multiple times, you’ll begin to see new symbols and color combinations, leading to additional rules. Here’s a quick reference for those new symbols:

    Symbol Meaning
One square After completing the operation matching the bullseye’s color, multiply the result by itself.
Two squares After finishing the corresponding operation, square the result and then square it again.
Diamond After executing the operation, switch the digits of the result.
Red dots Repeat the operation matching the color the number of times indicated by the dots.
Red slash Divide the result by two.
Red X Skip the operation with the given color.
Partially colored Divide the result by three.
≈ Round to the nearest whole number.
≈ ≈ Round to the nearest ten.
≈ ≈ ≈ Round to the nearest hundred.

Equipped with this knowledge (and maybe even a calculator), you should be set to solve any dartboard challenge the game throws at you. Thankfully, once you’ve noted the rules down, you won’t have to hunt for another magnifying glass each time you tackle the Billiard Room. While the rewards generally aren’t earth-shattering, having more keys is always advantageous in Blue Prince, so it’s worthwhile to solve the dartboard whenever you encounter it.

  • Unlocking the Orchard in Blue Prince: A Step-by-Step Guide

Unlocking the Orchard in Blue Prince: A Step-by-Step Guide

Even though you might have overlooked it initially, the Orchard serves as a crucial upgrade resource in Blue Prince. This new puzzle game has generated a lot of buzz due to its innovative take on the roguelike genre. In each room, you can uncover clues that contribute to solving various puzzles, but memorizing these hints becomes essential since rooms reset daily, and you may not have access to all the needed clues at the right moment.

The Orchard itself is one of these puzzles. To access the Orchard Gate, you’ll need to unlock and analyze the secrets of two specific rooms. While the ultimate answer might seem straightforward, mapping out these rooms and identifying what to search for in each requires patience and a bit of luck. If you’re feeling strategic or want to skip a few steps, this guide has everything you need to unlock the Orchard Gate in Blue Prince.

    Location of the Orchard Gate

Where to Locate the Orchard Gate

To find the Orchard Gate, head east from the main mansion, near your campsite. Exit the mansion through the main door, then follow Private Drive to the left, veering right at the fork to avoid the wrought-iron gate. Turn right towards the campsite and continue left past your tent until you encounter a white picket fence surrounding dense clusters of apple trees. You’ve successfully located the Orchard.

Keep in mind that there’s a small gray padlock on the white picket fence, which is your only obstacle to access. This padlock requires a four-digit code, which you’ll need to figure out to get inside.

    Unlocking the Orchard Gate

    Drafting the Utility Closet

The first two rooms you’ll require to unlock the Orchard Gate are a Utility Closet and a Dark Room. You must draft both rooms on the same day to gather the necessary clues. Although this guide provides information gradually, feel free to jump ahead and read the Orchard Gate combination; however, Blue Prince is more enjoyable when you uncover the solutions yourself. So, I recommend carefully considering each clue before progressing.

Let’s discuss the Utility Closet. This is a dead-end room that can be drafted anywhere within the mansion. The Utility Closet features a single item: a fuse box used to direct power to various rooms. It interacts with multiple puzzles, including opening the West Gate, but for now, you just need to turn the Dark Room switch to “on.”

    Locating a Magnifying Glass

    Magnifying glass in Blue Prince.

Beyond the aforementioned rooms, you’ll also need a magnifying glass to examine some details of the Orchard puzzle. Unfortunately, there’s no guaranteed method to find one. Magnifying glasses frequently appear in the Archive, Nook, Observatory, and Security Room, but if luck is on your side, you might discover one elsewhere in the mansion. You can also purchase a magnifying glass from the Commissary or trade for one at the Trading Post.

If you come across a magnifying glass one day but can’t draft the required rooms to finish this puzzle, it’s possible to store it for the next day by placing it in a Coat Check. However, this option is also luck-dependent, as the Coat Check blueprint may not appear.

Turning on the Lights in the Dark Room and Finding the Combo

The Dark Room is typically challenging in Blue Prince because you can’t view your blueprint options when drafting connections to this room. However, the objective is to illuminate the Dark Room so you can inspect one of the photos inside and deduce the combination from its details.

By switching the fuse box in the Utility Closet to direct power to the Dark Room, the lights will activate, allowing you to see various photos, including one that holds a critical clue for the Orchard Gate puzzle. Take your time exploring, but be sure to focus on the photo of the Orchard located on the table to your left upon entering the Dark Room.

Now, pick up the photo and use your magnifying glass to examine it closely. Focus on the large tree in the foreground, to the left of the gate, where you will find the numbers “11-28“ carved into the trunk—perhaps a significant date? Regardless, you now have the combination. Go back to the Orchard Gate and input “1128” into the combination lock, and just like that, it will unlock.

Unlocking the Orchard grants you a permanent boost: an additional 20 steps at the start of each day, without any further effort required. This advantage is fantastic for accessing more rooms and progressing towards the Antechamber in Blue Prince, making it a top priority to unlock the Orchard early on.

How Long Does It Take to Complete Blue Prince?

Blue Prince is a challenging game that puts you in the position of mapping an ever-changing mansion filled with randomly selected rooms. Your main objective is to uncover the elusive ‘Room 46,’ even though the mansion only seems to have 45 rooms. Naturally, you’ll need to solve various puzzles to reach this goal.

This game combines elements of roguelikes and puzzles, resulting in a unique experience for each player. Although your puzzle-solving skills can significantly influence your journey, luck also plays a considerable role. So, how much time should you anticipate spending as you hunt for Room 46?

How Long Does It Take To Complete the Game?

The time it takes to complete a typical run—from your initial day without any familiarity with the game’s puzzles to finally reaching Room 46 and finishing the game—can vary significantly based on your approach to playing Blue Prince. Several key factors influence this whole experience:

    • How much luck you encounter during your gameplay. It can greatly affect how quickly you can solve specific puzzles or access certain rooms.
    • Your speed in tackling the puzzles.
    • The specific puzzles you decide to focus on solving—many offer items or hints that don’t actually contribute to making progress toward Room 46.
    • Your level of determination to concentrate on finding Room 46 rather than enjoying the game’s journey and solving every puzzle.

Based on data from How Long To Beat, you can expect to invest around 13 to 22 hours depending on how lucky and focused you are on reaching your main objective.

  • Unlocking the West Gate in Blue Prince: A Step-by-Step Guide

Unlocking the West Gate in Blue Prince: A Step-by-Step Guide

The West Gate stands as one of the intriguing enigmas in Blue Prince. Although it’s visible right from the start of the game, discovering how to unlock it takes some time. This characteristic mirrors much of what Blue Prince offers: nearly every room, puzzle, or object points back to something in a different part of the mansion, and it’s rare that you have all the necessary components available at once. Such captivating secrets are what draw so many players into the world of Blue Prince.

The West Gate presents a unique challenge, as it isn’t limited to a specific room. It’s a fixed location on Mount Holly, remaining in the same spot throughout your gameplay. Unlocking it requires visiting several rooms in the correct order and solving various puzzles first. However, you only need to unlock it once. Once you do, you gain a significant perk: the ability to draft an Outer Room, significantly expanding your options for future runs.

    Finding the West Gate Solution

    Location of the West Gate

To locate the West Gate, exit the mansion through the main entrance, then turn right. It will be directly ahead of you. You can access it similarly if you’ve unlocked any alternate exits; just return to the start and turn right away from the entrance. This won’t cost you any steps.

Rooms to Draft Before Unlocking the West Gate

Before you can break open the West Gate, you’ll need to draft two specific rooms in one run. First, create the Garage, followed by either a Utility Closet or a Boiler Room for power.

Now, while Blue Prince is all about exploration and taking notes, take your time. You’ll enjoy the game more if you work to solve the West Gate puzzle yourself before turning to a walkthrough. However, if you’ve drafted the Garage and the power source but are still stuck, continue for a more detailed guide on unlocking the West Gate.

How to Unlock the West Gate

Powering the Garage via the Boiler Room

The Boiler Room in Blue Prince.

To power the Garage using the Boiler Room, ensure the Garage is adjacent to or can be accessed from the Boiler Room, or connect them through rooms that share ducts. If a direct connection isn’t possible, consider these alternative floor plan options:

    • Archives
    • Boiler Room
    • Darkroom
    • Laboratory
    • Locker Room
    • Passageway
    • Pump Room
    • Security Room

In the Boiler Room, start by activating all three green tanks. Begin with the tank on the lower level next to the stairs and turn the valve to start it. After that, ensure the red pipes allow everything to flow into the adjacent tank. This action will activate a conveyor belt in front of the second tank; turn off the valve for the first tank when you can reach it.

Next, pull the lever next to the tank to direct the flow to the right, then follow the pipes upstairs to the third green tank. Turn its valve, then adjust the pipes and levers so power flows to the central console in the room. Finally, interact with the console and slide the controller towards the Garage or connecting room to establish the power connection.

How to Power the Garage with the Utility Closet

A closeup on the breaker box in Blue Prince.

If the Boiler Room isn’t an option for you, you can power the Garage using a Utility Closet. Thankfully, you’re free to place the Utility Closet anywhere in the mansion, as long as you correctly solve its puzzle to connect it to the garage. Inside the Utility Closet, there’s a fuse box you need to manipulate to switch on the power and redirect it to the garage.

There’s a lot of work here, including a task to set the lights to specific colors. For our purposes, just toggle the switch next to the Garage to “on.”

    Drafting & Opening the Garage

Next, you’ll need to draft the Garage. Note that the Garage must be drafted along the western edge of the mansion, as it features an electric door that connects to the outside, which is essential for accessing the West Gate shortly.

The Garage also holds several keys, so ensure you find them before proceeding.

Once inside the garage, hit the button by the metal door to open it. Step outside and follow the pathway; within moments, you’ll find yourself on the other side of the West Gate.

Rewards for Unlocking the West Gate

After unlocking it for the first time, the West Gate remains open even after daily resets. This allows you to construct Outer Rooms, each of which provides unique effects for your current run.

For those who wish to explore, you’ll need to outline the Mailroom and Office rooms—this could take several attempts as it’s largely based on chance. Inside, you’ll uncover the clues needed to progress, but be prepared for some potential trial and error.

The Mailroom can assist you in decoding the Utility Closet light puzzle. Accessing the Office entails using the code "SWANSONG," which you can find in the Security room by examining a note on the wall with a magnifying glass. Solving the Utility puzzle will grant you access to the coveted Gemstone Cavern. Both of these approaches will facilitate your quest for trophies or achievements.

    Tackling the Gemstone Cavern Puzzle

Unlock it for Bonuses on Future Runs

To completely unlock the Gemstone Cavern, you will need to solve the Utility Closet puzzle by inputting the following solution: Gray, Blue, Green, White, Red, Purple. However, first, you must adhere to the Utility Closet puzzle rules, which involve adjusting the colors of the buttons in a specific sequence. While there are different methods to tackle this puzzle, here’s a straightforward step-by-step guide:

    1. Set all buttons to green (you can do this manually).
    2. Choose either the left or right side to turn the outer buttons red (the right side may work better for some).
    3. Change the button next to the red button to blue, initiating the creation of purple.
    4. Press the blue button to generate purple.
    5. Keep alternating between blue and red to convert all lights to purple, simplifying your path to completing the puzzle.
    6. Adjust the fourth button to white.
    7. Make the fifth button red while setting the second button to blue.
    8. Turn the third button green, which will then make the second button blue.
    9. Finally, deactivate the first light.

Once you complete this sequence, the wall behind the Utility Box will lift, revealing a switch. Flip it, and you’ll permanently unlock access to the Gemstone Cavern for all future games. After unlocking it, you’ll start each subsequent run with a bonus of two gems, providing a substantial advantage that allows for better control in crafting the mansion.

    Extra Notes

You won’t need to enter the Gemstone Cavern to reap the permanent gem bonus, but doing so will reward you with additional lore to enhance your gaming experience.

In Blue Prince, knowledge is key. You can finish a room, note down the solution, and target other rooms in subsequent runs, alleviating the pressure of having to complete everything at once. This strategic note-taking will help you advance more effectively through this intricate and rewarding world.

Completing the Billiard Room Dart Puzzle in Blue Prince: A Guide

If you know the solution, the Blue Prince dart puzzle is a consistent way to gather small items and rewards such as keys, gems, and other useful tools. These can be vital for ensuring a successful journey.

However, solving the puzzle can be somewhat challenging, and it becomes more complicated as you progress. Understanding the game’s rules might require some trial and error, but we’re here to guide you through it. Here’s how to locate and solve the puzzle.

How to Find the Dart Puzzle

You shouldn’t have trouble locating the dart puzzle; it’s found in the Billiard Room, which is a common area. In fact, you’ll likely encounter it during nearly every run.

The puzzle is located on the wall in one corner of the Billiard Room.

How to Solve the Dart Puzzle

The darts puzzle in the Billiard Room of Blue Prince, with symbols in the bullseye.

    Understanding Colors and Symbols

The dart puzzle involves some math, so having a calculator nearby can be helpful if you’re not great at calculating in your head. Certain sections of the board will be highlighted. Here’s a breakdown of what each color represents:

    • Blue: Add
    • Yellow: Subtract
    • Pink: Multiply
    • Purple: Divide

You’ll also encounter symbols in the bullseye as the game progresses. Here’s what they mean:

    • Square: Square the number.
    • Diamond: Reverse the digits.
    • Curved Line: Round the number. One curve means round to the nearest whole number, two curves mean round to the nearest ten, and three curves mean round to the nearest hundred.

    Other important notes include:

    • An X next to numbers on the board: Don’t include this number in your calculations.
    • If a colored segment has only its center third highlighted: Divide this number by three before performing calculations.

    Order of Calculations

PEMDAS isn’t applicable here. Instead, approach it from the center outward. Start calculating the segments closest to the center first, then move to the next nearest segment.

Be aware that if there’s a symbol in the bullseye, its effect needs to apply to all segments of the same color.

If you have multiple symbols in the bullseye, use the same outward approach, starting with the innermost symbol.

This guide will walk you through how to access the Gallery, offer tips for tackling its various puzzles, and provide answers for those who need a little extra assistance.

The Gallery room is a rare design in Mt. Holly, so you might not see it in every draft. • Completing the Meaning Behind the Blueprints: Solving Their Symbols

Completing the Meaning Behind the Blueprints: Solving Their Symbols

Blue Prince is filled with enigmas and hidden elements, one of which relates to the artistic frames found in the rooms you explore on Mt. Holly.

If you’re uncertain about how to interpret the art or where to begin, this guide will help you gather the information you need.

Getting Started with the Picture Puzzle

Your curiosity about the art might have been sparked by a fortune from Alcazar, who can be found in the Rumpus Room. One of his predictions states, “Just like the art hanging in these rooms, there’s a missing letter…”

The Study room also contains details that explain how each room features one letter. When combined, these letters form a code.

How to Decode the Picture Puzzle Code

Chalkboard in Blue Prince's Study displaying the picture puzzle's grid.

Having pen and paper handy will be useful. Create a grid layout with nine rows and five columns. As you explore each room, compare the artwork on display. The images will indicate one letter each, so make sure to take note of these letters.

To decode the message, you’ll need all the letters, which requires reaching rank nine.

For example, a pairing might be Stag and Tag, meaning the corresponding letter would be S. While the letters remain consistent, the rooms may vary from game to game.

Repetitions in drawings can occur, but their meanings might differ. For instance, what is labeled as Bath in one room could be referred to as Tub in another.

The complete message forms a riddle that guides you in unlocking the various safes scattered throughout Mt. Holly. The solution is outlined below:
