How to solve the Astra Malorum Easter Egg in CoD: Black Ops 7

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Zombies takes players into outer space with its first post-launch map, Astra Malorum. This map features a Liberty Falls observatory situated on a giant floating skull orbiting Saturn. A guardian robot named O.S.C.A.R. patrols the area, making the Moon seem tame in comparison, as Moon had a giant pyramid with a girl inside.

If you choose to complete the Easter Egg, you’ll be transported to a temple on Mars’s surface. There, you’ll solve complex puzzles involving pianos and scarabs to defeat Caltheris and free the second Shadowsmith. I won’t spoil who they are because the final battle promises to be a spectacular show.

    Step-By-Step Walkthrough

To start the Easter Egg, you first need the LGM-1 weapon. Check out our detailed guide on how to get it. Once you have it, follow these main steps:

    1. Get the saw from the Museum Infinitium, located in the corner by the entrance near Speed Cola.
    2. Follow O.S.C.A.R. from behind as he plays a recording of Thurston.
    3. The three planets he mentions relate to their distance from the sun, with Earth being 3, for example. Convert Thurston’s recording into a code based on these numbers.
    4. Enter this code into the Observatory Dome terminal.
    5. Take the lift and interact with the corpse to retrieve the Cryo Chamber Key.
    6. Use the key to open the cryopod south of Machina Astralis, revealing a body.
    7. O.S.C.A.R. and a horde of zombies will spawn. Quickly saw off the head of the body to get its brain.
    8. Find another brain in a container on a table in the Luminarium and swap it with Thurston’s.
    9. Interact with Thurston’s brain to trigger a lockdown; defend it for 60 seconds from zombies.
    10. Pick up the brain and take it to Machina Astralis. Place it in the machine next to the teleporter.
    11. Head to the Observatory Dome and look through the telescope. Focus on Mars, then note the coordinates displayed.
    12. Input these coordinates into the terminal on the second floor of Machina Astralis.
    13. Reveal Thurston’s Reading List by interacting with his brain, then note the titles.
    14. In the library, interact with three statue heads next to bookshelves. Each shelf displays different novels matching those on the reading list.
    15. Count how many novels match and turn each related statue’s head accordingly at the start of a round.
    16. If correct, a ladder will appear. Climb to get the model Neptune and place it in the planetarium.
    17. Find the scattered notes detailing planets and directions, then align the planets in the planetarium accordingly, using the compass below the sun.
    18. Return to the Observatory Dome, input the Martian coordinates on a terminal.
    19. Solve the library puzzle by interacting with Thurston’s reading list, bookshelf displays, and statue heads.
    20. Enter the sequence of symbols shown on the piano into the second-floor terminal.
    21. Interact with the pillars in the puzzle room, matching the symbols in the correct order.
    22. Once completed, engage the final pillar to trigger the boss fight.
    23. Defeat Caltheris to finish the Easter Egg.

    Retrieve The Saw

    1. Head to the Museum Infinitium where Speed Cola is located.
    2. Find the saw inside a display cabinet near the entrance.

    Find Thurston’s Code

    1. Follow O.S.C.A.R. undetected as he plays logs with planetary references.
    2. Each planet mentioned has a number based on its distance from the Sun (Mercury=1, Venus=2, Earth=3, Mars=4, Jupiter=5, Saturn=6, Uranus=7, Neptune=8, Pluto=9).
    3. Write down the three planets’ numbers; if only three digits, prepend a zero if needed.
    4. Input these into the second-floor terminal in Machina Astralis.

    Solve the Library Puzzle

    1. Interact with Thurston’s reading list in Machina Astralis to see which novels are listed.
    2. In the Archive of Orbis, interact with bookshelves next to each statue head.
    3. Count matching novels and turn each corresponding statue head that number of times at round start.
    4. If correct, a ladder appears; ascend to retrieve the Neptune model.
    5. Return to the planetarium and place Neptune in the missing pole.
    6. Locate the notes that show planets and directions.
    7. Shoot the planets in the correct order, aligning with the directions on the notes, guided by the compass.
    8. Reactivate the portal, fighting UFOs during the lockdown until teleportation to Mars begins.

    Find The Martian Code

    1. On Mars, pick up Thurston’s brain on the central platform.
    2. Return his brain to the machine overlooking the temple to reconnect the portal.
    3. Observe the coordinates on the telescope, and input them into the second-floor terminal.
    4. Interact with Thurston’s brain in Machina Astralis to display his reading list.
    5. In the Archive of Orbis, interact with the statues, matching the number of novels on bookshelves to how many times to turn the statue heads in the start of a round.
    6. Once completed, a ladder will drop. Climb to get the model Neptune.
    7. Place Neptune on the pole in the Machina Astralis planetarium.
    8. Find notes around the map that give planet directions.
    9. Use the notes to shoot planets into the correct positions.
    10. Reactivate the portal with another input, then shoot the pylons with the LGM-1 to activate them.
    11. Adjust the planets in the Machina Astralis to match the symbols on the piano display.
    12. Return to Mars and interact with the pillars, inputting symbols in the correct sequence.
    13. Complete the sequence to activate the final pillar.

    Defeat Caltheris

    1. Thurston’s brain is used to trigger the last boss fight.
    2. Caltheris cannot be harmed initially with normal weapons.
    3. Instead, defend the towers on either side of the temple from periodic UFO attacks.
    4. When charged, the screen flashes white, indicating that you can now fire a laser at Caltheris.
    5. Repeat this three times to break her skull, revealing her true form.
    6. In her final form, you can damage her with normal weapons once her shell is destroyed.
    7. Deal enough damage to defeat her, completing the Easter Egg.
  • Black Ops 7 Zombies Astra Malorum: Completing and Solving the Secrets

Black Ops 7 Zombies Astra Malorum: Completing and Solving the Secrets

The second Zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is now available to start Season 1. This map is set at the Liberty Falls observatory, which floats inside a giant skull orbiting Saturn. As usual, there’s a new Wonder Weapon to discover and a fun Easter Egg to complete. Instead of solving complicated equations, your main goal is to survive several challenging encounters with a guardian named O.S.C.A.R., who patrols the area with a George Romero-like appearance.

If you succeed, O.S.C.A.R. will drop the LGM-1, a unique weapon that contains a “Little Green Menace.” When fired, this weapon sends UFOs crashing toward enemies, adding a playful, retro-futuristic touch to your arsenal. It’s similar in style to weapons like the Ray Gun and Face Melter, and you can get it by following this guide.

    ### Find The Absolute Zero Fragments, Aberrant Wiring, Car Battery, And Crashed UFO Part

To begin, you need to locate several parts scattered across the map. It’s best to do this early because some steps require waiting for O.S.C.A.R. to respawn, which can lead to higher rounds and increased difficulty.

    #### Absolute Zero Fragments
Shoot three Aether Crystals with Cryo Freeze ammo to collect all the Absolute Zero Fragments.

    #### Aberrant Wiring
Find and shoot a flickering lamp post to obtain the Aberrant Wiring. Keep in mind, the lamp post location is randomized each time.

    #### Car Battery
Head back to the Crash Site once you have a Pack-a-Punch weapon. Shoot the gearstick inside “Ol’ Tessie” — the car’s exposed hood — to make the Car Battery drop.

    #### Crashed UFO Part
Destroy one of the drones circling O.S.C.A.R., which will cause a Crashed UFO Part to drop.

    ### Destroy O.S.C.A.R. in the Luminarium

Lure O.S.C.A.R. to the Luminarium by using Jugger-Nog, and enter the planetarium located to the northwest. Interact with the Stellar Dissector to place the Car Battery. Stay inside until the trap expires, and O.S.C.A.R. will dissipate, leaving behind a Shiny Trinket. Note, this trinket uses your Tactical slot but is useful for the next step.

    ### Destroy O.S.C.A.R. in the Museum Infinitum

Wait until O.S.C.A.R. respawns (about 2-3 rounds) and lead him to the Museum Infinitum near Speed Cola. Interact with the rocket’s control panel to trigger a launch sequence. Make sure O.S.C.A.R. is behind the rocket—lure him with the Shiny Trinket if needed—and he will vanish again, completing this phase.

    ### Shoot The Steaming Valves

While waiting for O.S.C.A.R. to respawn, go to the Observatory Dome and look for steaming valves. They produce a distinct sound when you get close. There are multiple valves positioned around the map: two below Pack-a-Punch, two above the piano on the upper balcony, and others on the portal room walls, on pillars, and near the console.

Shoot each valve in sequence to trigger a timed event. The valves are placed randomly, so find, shoot, and repeat until the telescope in the center of the dome moves. If you miss, you’ll need to wait another round for the valves to reset.

    ### Destroy O.S.C.A.R. in the Observatory Dome

Once O.S.C.A.R. respawns, bring him to the Observatory Dome and interact with the piano opposite the Pack-a-Punch. This activates a telescope view; aim your crosshair at the sun. A yellow laser will shoot into the room, and while safe from zombies and O.S.C.A.R., you should lure O.S.C.A.R. into the laser beam. Doing so will cause him to malfunction and drop the LGM-1 Wonder Weapon, giving you a powerful new tool for your fight.

  • Black Ops 7 Warzone: When is the Completing and Solving Release?

Black Ops 7 Warzone: When is the Completing and Solving Release?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has remained active since its launch. Treyarch has separated Endgame from the co-op campaign and released Nuketown 2025 for multiplayer play. The community was also rewarded for completing the first Easter Egg with a Zombies mode inspired by classic themes, called Cursed. However, the full experience will really begin next month.

Season 1 will start on December 4, 2025. Activision has not announced an exact time, but based on previous updates and what’s typical, it will most likely go live around 5 p.m. GMT, 12 p.m. Eastern, and 9 a.m. Pacific.

When Season 1 kicks off, players will see Warzone integrated into the game alongside the new battle pass, a fresh Zombies map, several returning weapons, and other updates.

    ### Black Ops 7 Season 1 Zombies Maps
The first Zombies map that arrives after launch is called Astra Malorum. It will drop next month along with two new survival maps, Exit 115 and Zarya Cosmodrome, which branch from Vandorn Farm. Astra Malorum takes place on a floating skull in space, accessible by flying through an asteroid field using a modified Ol’ Tessie. The map hints that the pickup truck from previous versions might not be used here, as Richtofen jokes about parking as the crew ventures through space.

The survival maps Exit 115 and Zarya Cosmodrome join Vandorn Farm in the new season.

    ### Black Ops 7 Season 1 Multiplayer Maps
Season 1 will add a total of seven new multiplayer maps, including Nuketown 2025, which is available now since November 20. The other maps include Fate, Utopia, Odysseus, Standoff, Meltdown, and Yakei. Treyarch has indicated there will be more maps to come, and dataminers have already started uncovering plans for remasters of Vertigo and Gridlock, although these might be saved for future seasons. It’s important to note that leaks should be taken with caution.

There’s also a glimpse of a Christmas-themed map called Sleighjacked, a holiday version of Hijacked.

    ### New Season 1 Weapons
Several new weapons will be accessible across multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame modes. Notable among them are the Maddox assault rifle from Black Ops 4 and the return of classic series staples like the Crossbow and Ballistic Knife. Data miners have also spotted references to three additional assault rifles, a marksman rifle, another melee weapon, an assault shield, a shotgun, a special weapon, three SMGs, and a sniper rifle. Some may appear in Season 1, while others could be saved for later updates or future seasons.

    ### Black Ops 7 Warzone Integration
The first season will feature integration with Warzone, allowing players to use all weapons within the battle royale mode. This update also includes new mastery camos and calling card challenges.

The familiar Verdansk map will make a return, with two new points of interest: the factory and the signal station. Additionally, Resurgence mode will be refreshed with a new map called Haven’s Hollow, an expanded area of Liberty Falls, which includes the Shattered Veil mansion from Black Ops 6 Zombies.

  • Best M15 Mod 0 Attachments in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — Completing & Solving

Best M15 Mod 0 Attachments in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 — Completing & Solving

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has arrived, introducing a smooth and quick movement system alongside the fast-paced gameplay players love. With this new setup, players around the world will find the best weapon in the game almost immediately after it starts. In fact, this year, players identify the top weapon within seconds—the M15 Mod 0—which is widely considered the best gun in the game and the first assault rifle available to players.

While it’s common for players to start with strong weapons in Call of Duty, it can be frustrating that everyone begins with a very powerful gun from the start. This makes trying out other weapons feel less exciting. Still, if you want to make an already great gun even better, you’ll need to unlock some attachments first.

How to Upgrade the M15 Mod 0 from S-Tier to God-Tier

It’s no secret that the M15 Mod 0 is one of the best weapons in Black Ops 7—even before adding attachments. Since it’s the first assault rifle you get, you can level it up early and make it even more lethal, making it a popular choice in multiplayer matches.

This rifle can typically kill with five shots at close to mid-range and six shots at longer distances. With the right attachments, you can extend its effective damage range and improve its accuracy, making it easier to eliminate enemies quickly and without much effort.

Best Attachments for the M15 Mod 0

    Attachment Pros & Cons
LTI Mini (Optic) Offers better aiming precision at mid and long ranges. Although the iron sights are decent, this sight helps you track targets more easily.
RL-5.56 Brake (Muzzle) Controls recoil and makes shooting the first shot easier to manage. It resets the recoil pattern faster and improves vertical recoil control—great for accuracy.
16.5″ Fusion (Barrel) Increases damage range, making long-range kills more consistent with five shots to the body. Also reduces the need to lead targets as much.
Ironhold Angled Grip (Underbarrel) Significantly decreases aiming sway and improves horizontal recoil control, keeping shots steady whether moving or stationary.
Caravan-H2 Grip (Rear Grip) Further reduces recoil and stabilizes vertical control, helping the weapon become a laser beam at any range.
Empty (Magazine) The default magazine holds 30 rounds, which is usually enough. It’s better to leave it empty unless you’re using the Gunfighter Wildcard, in which case a larger magazine like Mayday Extended Mag works fine.
Empty (Stock) Best to leave stock empty unless you’re choosing Gunfighter Wildcard, then options like Telescopic or Intervention Stocks are good.
Empty (Laser) Not necessary; the standard sights are fine, so avoid wasting this slot. Use this space for other attachments instead.
Empty (Fire Mods) Usually left empty unless using Gunfighter Wildcard; in that case, Buffer Springs can help control recoil further, making shooting even more precise.

Pro Tip: The M15 Mod 0 is accurate and powerful even without attachments. You don’t need to add extra gear unless recoil control feels off. If recoil is an issue, Swap out the rear grip for Buffer Springs to improve stability and conserve your Wildcard slot for other perks.

    Recommended Build

    Slot Equipment & Attachments
Primary Weapon M15 Mod 0 with LTI Mini, RL-5.56 Brake, 16.5″ Fusion, Ironhold Angled Grip, Caravan-H2 Grip
Secondary Weapon Velox 5.7 with Greaves 5.7 Narrow Brake, 7.8″ Redwell T-Arrow, Serpens Fast Mag, RDW-12 Fast Grip, Accelerated Recoil System
    Wildcard Perk Greed
    Field Upgrade Trophy System
    Tactical Stun Grenade
    Lethal Semtex
    Perk One Ninja
    Perk Two Fast Hands
    Perk Three Cold-Blooded
    Perk Greed Ghost

Note: The grenades and field upgrade are less crucial than your secondary weapon and perks. Feel free to customize those slots as you prefer. Prioritize perks that keep you hidden, silent, and undetectable—key for catching opponents off guard.

This setup allows the M15 Mod 0 to perform exceptionally with just five attachments, freeing your Wildcard for an extra perk. This keeps you off enemy radar and silent when moving, giving you a huge advantage in map control. While you can choose to run Gunfighter or other Wildcards, this build offers the best balance of power and stealth, helping you avoid Scorestreaks and perks that detect footsteps.

  • How to Get Double XP Tokens in CoD: Black Ops 7 by Completing and Solving

How to Get Double XP Tokens in CoD: Black Ops 7 by Completing and Solving

Double XP Tokens are a powerful way to speed up your progress in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Whether you’re aiming to unlock every attachment, reach Level 55 quickly, or stay ahead during seasonal updates, these tokens can significantly reduce the time it takes to level up. Since the game features extensive systems across Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame modes, understanding how to earn and use these tokens is key to making your grind easier.

Here’s a quick overview of what Double XP Tokens do, how you can earn them, and the best way to activate them so you’re not wasting any time.

    What Are Double XP Tokens?

Like in previous Call of Duty titles, Double XP Tokens in Black Ops 7 temporarily boost your XP gain. Each token lasts for a set period: 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes. There are three main types:

    • Double XP: Boosts your overall career level XP.
    • Double Weapon XP: Helps you level your guns faster for attachments and camouflage.
    • Double Battle Pass XP: Speeds up your tier progress through the Battle Pass each season.

Keep in mind, these timers run in real time—if you activate a 60-minute token and leave the game or menu idle, the timer continues counting down even if you’re not actively playing. Plan accordingly before activating.

How to Get Double XP Tokens in Black Ops 7

There are several ways to earn these tokens:

    • Carry-Over Tokens: If you’ve played previous Call of Duty games like Black Ops 6 or Modern Warfare, any unused XP Tokens automatically transfer into Black Ops 7, giving you some initial boosts right from the start.
    • Login Bonuses: Logging in during the pre-season grants five hours of Double XP and five hours of Double Weapon XP just for signing in. The upcoming Season 1 is expected to start around December 4, so be sure to log in before then.
    • In-Game Store: Double XP Tokens are available in the game’s in-store shop. Although they aren’t sold separately at launch, you can buy the Endowment Legacy Tracer Pack. This pack includes double XP, double weapon XP tokens, and other cosmetic items like skins and emotes.
    • Brand Partnerships and Promotions: During the build-up to the game’s release, brands like Monster Energy, Little Caesars, and Müller offered codes for bonus tokens. These codes can be redeemed via their promotional websites. Be careful not to redeem multiple codes at once, as the rewards do not stack.
    • Seasonal Battle Pass Rewards: Each season’s Battle Pass includes XP Tokens on its reward path. Some are free, while others require purchasing the full pass, costing 1,100 COD Points. If you’re still working through the previous season’s pass, you can earn the remaining tokens until December 3.

    Limited-Time Events and Free Gifts

Special seasonal events often reward players with XP Tokens, sometimes just for participating lightly. Additionally, occasional in-game store gifts or rewards might include XP Tokens or bundles. Notably, the Endowment Legacy Tracer Pack is free for U.S. military members and veterans as a thank-you gesture, available through the Call of Duty Endowment promotion website. These rewards are limited in quantity, so act quickly.

How to Activate Double XP Tokens

Activating your tokens is straightforward. You can do it from the main menu, pause menu, or launcher screen by pressing the appropriate button:

    • L3 on PlayStation
    • LS (left stick) on Xbox
    • 3 on PC

Once in the token menu, select the type of token and the duration you want. The timer begins immediately, so it’s best to activate tokens during the pre-match countdown or at the start of a game to maximize their benefits.

Planning your activations during key moments ensures you get the most value from each token, making your leveling process faster and more efficient without wasted minutes.

  • Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Faces Backlash Over AI Art

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Faces Backlash Over AI Art

Digital Phablet – Activision’s latest release, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, has faced a tumultuous beginning, plagued by various issues including a peculiar campaign and a lack of innovative gameplay features to justify a sequel just a year after the previous installment.

Recently, criticism has intensified over the game’s use of AI-generated artwork in its assets, such as calling cards, posters, and reward icons. A user on Reddit expressed frustration in a discussion thread, remarking, “Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is cluttered with AI-generated art, because your $70 doesn’t mean as much anymore.”

Many fans have also encouraged others to avoid purchasing the game to protest the use of AI-created content in future releases.

Another Reddit comment stated,  “High Fantasy Studio Ghibli is exactly what I picture when I think of Call of Duty. It pairs perfectly with the Nicki Minaj and Seth Rogen skins. Honestly, these developers have completely lost the plot.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Criticized for Incorporating AI Art

The AI-created artwork appears to utilize Hayao Miyazaki’s renowned Studio Ghibli aesthetic as its inspiration, which went viral several months ago when social media users began generating AI content based on it via ChatGPT. Many critics labeled this trend as “disrespectful” and “unacceptable” to Miyazaki’s artistic legacy.

Despite the backlash from months prior, Activision and Treyarch’s new game continues to include AI-generated art in its assets, sparking widespread outrage from gamers and artists alike.

Sources reveal that much of the anger stems from concerns over AI replacing skilled human artists, including illustrators, concept designers, and animators.

Even the Prestige icons in Black Ops 7 are reportedly AI-created. However, they have been subtly edited to suggest otherwise, according to reports from FRVR.

The game’s campaign, often highly praised by fans, also received criticism for several reasons, including bizarre choices like being exclusively online with no option to pause. Multiple users reported being kicked from the campaign if they remained idle for too long.

  • Black Ops 7 Zombies: Completing Ashes of the Damned & Solving Secrets

Black Ops 7 Zombies: Completing Ashes of the Damned & Solving Secrets

In Call of Duty Zombies, Wonder Weapons are usually acquired by spinning the Mystery Box and hoping for the best, with the disembodied voice assisting you against the undead. However, recent games have added the option to craft Wonder Weapons through complex mini Easter Eggs, making the process more interesting and rewarding.

In Black Ops 7’s “Ashes of the Damned,” you can obtain the Necrofluid Gauntlet, but it’s a challenging task. To get it, you’ll face an Uber Klaus, rescue a regular Klaus, move quickly around the map against a timer, and solve a random puzzle—classic Zombies activities.

Necrofluid Gauntlet Easter Egg Step-by-Step Guide

Before you begin, here are some helpful tips:

    • If playing solo, equip Aether Shroud for protection.
    • Klaus is essential for completing the Easter Egg but will leave after some time. You can re-summon him using the radio outside his cell.
    • Ensure the power is turned on at all three locations: Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, and Vandorn Farm.
    • The Necrofluid Gauntlet can be upgraded by Pack-A-Punch at Ol’ Tessie, and doing so will unlock Zombie intel.

Steps to obtain the Necrofluid Gauntlet:

    1. Open the Sheriff’s Office in Ashwood (costs 500 points). It’s located next to the Vulture Aid perk machine.

    2. Head to Janus Tower Plaza through the Blackwater Lake entrance, where an Uber Klaus will spawn.

    3. Travel to Janus Tower Plaza; Klaus appears in the area.

    4. Bring Klaus to the jail cell in Ashwood and install the Stabiliser Chip inside the scanner next to the gate.

    5. Wake Klaus by throwing stun grenades into his cell.

    6. Lead Klaus to Zarya Cosmodrome, where a canister is locked behind glass in the Support Systems area. Use the underground passage.

    7. Interact with the canister, then stand inside the red spotlight to scan Klaus. Use Aether Shroud if playing solo to avoid timing out.

    8. Charge the canister at each of the three power stations (Ashwood, Blackwater Lake, Vandorn Farm) by killing nearby zombies. It’s best to go in the order: Ashwood → Blackwater Lake → Vandorn Farm.

    9. When charged at Vandorn Farm, take the canister to the basement and interact with the Eldritch box inside.

    10. Drive back to Janus Tower Plaza and use the jump pad to return to Vandorn Farm. Mid-air, observe the barn, farmhouse, and silo for the three runes; these are randomly placed, so take a screenshot for reference.

    11. Scan the runes: interact with each panel and input the symbols corresponding to each rune. Order doesn’t matter; each panel has unique symbols.

    12. After inputting the correct symbols, interact with the eye on the back of the Eldritch box. If successful, the gauntlet becomes available.

    13. Deactivate the lockdown by shooting the green orbs that spawn around the room. When orbs are attracted to you by reloading, each one will be pulled in. Once all are captured, the lockdown ends.

    14. Input the runes onto the box by interacting with each side, selecting the correct symbols.

    15. Once the symbols are entered correctly, interact with the eye again. If done correctly, the Necrofluid Gauntlet will be accessible for pickup.

    16. Finally, exit the farmhouse with your new Wonder Weapon.
