Sydney Sweeney shared a daring behind-the-scenes glimpse of her grooming routine prior to the premiere of The Housemaid in New York. The 28-year-old actress turned heads as she went topless while her team secured her into a nude waist cincher, which highlighted her curvaceous figure on the red carpet and completed her look.

The blonde starlet swapped her usual chin-length curled bob for stunning extensions cascading down to her chest. She adorned multi-watt diamond earrings that sparkled, and her look was further enhanced by champagne eyeshadow, winged black eyeliner, and rosy cheeks.

At the premiere alongside her co-stars—including Amanda Seyfried (40), Brandon Sklenar (35), and Michele Morrone (35)—Sydney dazzled in a glittering, plunging, floor-length gown designed by Miu Miu. The form-fitting gown was styled with a white feather boa draped around her elbows, adding a touch of elegance.

In 2024, Sydney explained to People that she uses fashion as a way to showcase the different facets of her personality. “Fashion is such a fun way to embrace different sides of yourself,” she shared. “Some days, I feel very girly; other days, I want to look edgy. And sometimes, I prefer a more relaxed style. It’s a means to express who I am or how I’m feeling.”

In 2022, Sydney also expressed pride in being “unapologetically” herself and aims to inspire young women to feel confident in their own skin.

The actress, who was also announced as a global ambassador for HEYDUDE, a casual footwear brand, told People, “I’m always proud to be myself and to take charge of my own life. I think that’s what it means to be a ‘dude.’ This campaign really pulls back the curtain and shows who I am behind the scenes—encouraging others to embrace confidence.”

The upcoming film, titled “The Housemaid’s Secret,” is the sequel to last year’s blockbuster and is scheduled for release in theaters on December 17, 2027. This marks exactly two years since the debut of “The Housemaid,” which was a massive success, grossing nearly $400 million globally against a $35 million production budget. Although it only earned $19 million during its opening weekend, it remained popular throughout the holiday season.

According to a tweet from Film Updates, the stars of the new film will include Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst, and Michele Morrone. The studio behind the film is positioning it as counterprogramming during the bustling Christmas season, launching alongside major releases like “Avengers: Secret Wars” and “Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum,” which are both geared towards male audiences.

Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone reprise their roles from the first movie, and Kirsten Dunst will also appear. The story, adapted from Freida McFadden’s best-selling novel series, follows Millie (played by Sweeney), who was initially hired as a live-in maid for a wealthy family harboring a dark secret. In the sequel, her role shifts to managing a house for a woman she’s never met—only to uncover truths behind a locked door that could reveal secrets darker than her own past.

Filming for “The Housemaid’s Secret” is set to begin later this year. Paul Feig returns to direct, working alongside writer Rebecca Sonnenshine, who based the script on the original book. The film is produced by Fifty-Fifty Films, with key collaborators including Todd Lieberman of Hidden Pictures and Laura Fischer of Pretty Dangerous, alongside Sweeney herself.

Lionsgate is eager to expand “The Housemaid” into a major film franchise and has plans to adapt more of McFadden’s works in the future. A third book, titled “The Housemaid Is Watching,” is also in the pipeline.

This period piece promises to be Sweeney’s most captivating role yet, as she immerses herself in the intricate story of secrets and suspense.

Late this year, production will commence on “The Housemaid’s Secret.” Once completed, it is expected to be a prominent addition to the 2027 holiday lineup, with stars Sydney Sweeney and Kirsten Dunst returning for the sequel. The project, managed by Lionsgate, aims to establish “The Housemaid” as a lasting film series, with additional novels by McFadden potentially adapted in future installments.

Amanda Seyfried Almost Played Gamora In Guardians Movie

Amanda Seyfried came close to entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gamora in Guardians of the Galaxy.

In a conversation with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Seyfried revealed that she was offered the role of Thanos’s adopted daughter. Although she found her meeting with James Gunn to be “wonderful,” she ultimately decided against taking on the character due to practical considerations.

“I was genuinely apprehensive about being stuck for long hours while being painted a different color,” she said. “I received the offer and thought about it for a few days. I just didn’t want to commit to living in London for six months out of the year.”

Instead of joining the Guardians, Seyfried chose to collaborate with Seth MacFarlane on A Million Ways to Die in the West.

During the early 2010s, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was only beginning to gain traction. Guardians of the Galaxy didn’t include well-known superheroes like Spider-Man or Captain America. Seyfried felt uncertain about taking a chance on a relatively obscure franchise.

“Let’s keep in mind that starring in Marvel’s first underperforming film wouldn’t do wonders for your career,” Seyfried remarked. “I worried this movie about a talking tree and raccoon might flop, and that Chris Pratt and I would struggle to find work afterward. I was mistaken! But I was just being practical; that’s not cowardly.”

Ultimately, Zoe Saldaña secured the role of Gamora, and history was made. Nonetheless, Seyfried remains content with her choice.

“The thought of spending four-and-a-half hours in a chair every morning didn’t seem appealing. I’ve done some green screen work, and it wasn’t my forte at the time,” she explained. “I have no regrets. I made the right decision for myself then, and I still believe that.”
