On June 3rd, Fenghuang.com Tech reported that Kimi, a product from the company Yue Zhi An Men, announced the launch of its Kimi Work Beta version—a universal, localized AI agent designed for knowledge workers. The beta test phase now includes the release of the latest test versions of the Mac and Windows clients.

Kimi Work is built on the Kimi Code core, offering fundamental local agent capabilities such as installation, task scheduling, and execution. It also inherits specialized skills from the online version, including website creation and presentation design, along with access to professional databases spanning finance, scientific research, and law. Additionally, the system features Kimi WebBridge, allowing it to interface with browsers seamlessly.

The platform enables users to operate without opening terminals, writing commands, or configuring environments. Instead, users can simply describe their goals in natural language, and Kimi Work will break down tasks locally, execute them in parallel, call upon various tools, utilize browsers, and manage file folders. The generated outputs can include documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.

A typical workflow demonstrated by the developers involves reading local files, viewing subscription databases via a browser, generating in-depth reports, invoking PowerPoint skills, and ultimately delivering client proposals. Moreover, Kimi Work supports agent clusters, which can dynamically form teams with up to 300 sub-agents to handle more complex or time-consuming tasks.

Significantly, Kimi officials disclosed that the development of Kimi Work was highly reliant on Kimi Code. The engineering team used tools like Coding Agent and Kimi Code to complete the beta versions for Mac and Windows within a week. Over 50,000 lines of effective code were produced during this period, with approximately 92% generated autonomously by artificial intelligence.
