Public transportation fares also climbed by 16.9%, impacting commuters relying on transit daily.

Postage and Delivery Prices Climb

Delivery services and postage fees are up by 14.6%, driven by increased demand for e-commerce deliveries and higher shipping costs. Consumers might find themselves paying more for online shopping, package shipping, and postal services than last year.

Grocery and Food Prices Continue Their Ascent

Food inflation remains a concern, with several key staples seeing notable price hikes:

  • Coffee: +12.9%
  • Beef & veal: +11.8%
  • Fresh vegetables: +9.9%
  • Sugar & sweets: +6.9%
  • Fish & seafood: +6.3%
  • Pork: +2.4%

Luxury and Non-Essential Goods See Notable Price Hikes

Healthcare Costs Remain a Major Concern

Healthcare expenses continue to stretch budgets, with dental services up by 7.0% and hospital services increasing by 5.1%. Meanwhile, health insurance prices have decreased slightly by 7.4%, offering some relief but not enough to offset rising other medical costs.

Transportation Costs and Vehicle Maintenance Rise

While the costs for new vehicles have only increased marginally (+0.5%), motor vehicle maintenance and repair costs jumped by 7.0%, complicating the budget planning for car owners. Additionally, motor vehicle insurance has decreased by 4.1%, providing some financial relief in the auto sector.

Utilities and Household Essentials Modest Growth

Electricity prices have climbed by 4.0%, and water, sewer, and trash collection increased by 4.6%. Personal care products and bakery items grew slightly, by 2.7% and 2.5%, respectively, adding modest expense increases to daily routines.

The most remarkable change is the sharp decrease in egg prices, which plummeted by 27.9%, providing some relief to consumers. Similarly, medicinal drugs dropped by 2.3%, and appliances fell by 2.7%. Telephone services and motor vehicle insurance also declined significantly, easing household expenses.

College tuition and fees increased modestly by 1.8%. Pet-related products and services saw a 1.5% rise, reflecting ongoing demand for pet care.
