How to Use AWS Support to Review 10-Day SES Case for Production Launch

AWS Security: Handling Sophisticated Attacks & Collaborating with Authorities

Getting your SES production access approved can be frustrating, especially if your support case has been unassigned for a while. Here’s a simple guide to help you escalate your issue and get it resolved faster.

First, if your case has been unassigned for more than 10 days, it’s a good idea to follow up directly in the existing support case. Reply to the case thread and politely ask for an update, emphasizing the urgency and how not having production access is affecting your business. This can often prompt the support team to take another look.

If you have a paid support plan, such as Developer, Business, or Enterprise support, you can escalate your case through the support channels provided in your plan. If you’re an Enterprise Support customer, you also have access to a Technical Account Manager who can help speed things up by advocating for your case.

When submitting a request for SES production access, make sure your case includes all the necessary information. Clearly explain your intended use case, how you handle bounces and complaints, your email sending practices, and how you comply with AWS policies. Providing all this upfront reduces delays caused by missing details.

If you’re still waiting without a response, consider opening a new support case specifically to ask for an update on your original case. Be sure to reference the original case ID and mention that it has been unassigned for a long time.

Also, remember to submit your production access request through the proper process. Use the Service Quota increase request in the AWS Support Center, selecting “SES Sending Limits” as the quota type. This approach helps ensure your request gets the proper attention.

If your efforts aren’t leading to a prompt response, try reaching out through the AWS forums or contact your account team if you have one. Sometimes community support or direct contacts can help move things along faster.
