During Amazon’s October Prime Day, the top Chromebook deal isn’t marked by a massive discount, but it still offers one of the best prices of the year for this device.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 3i Chromebook is available for $169.99 on Amazon, representing a 10% drop. While some retailers offer even lower prices during Prime Day, Amazon consistently provides competitive fall deals on Chromebooks, including this one.
If you’ve followed our coverage of Chromebook discounts over the years, you’ll know our selection criteria are clear: first, memory capacity. More RAM allows for smoother multitasking with multiple tabs and apps, and many deals skimp with only 4GB. The IdeaPad 3i stands out with a full 8GB of RAM, which is significant. Second, I prefer screens that are at least 1080p, and the 3i meets this with a spacious 15.6-inch display. Processor specs are less critical to me, but the 3i’s Celeron N4500 dual-core chip from 2021 remains an average performer.
Lenovo’s ThinkPads and IdeaPads are known for their comfortable, reliable keyboards. The 15.6-inch size also provides enough space for a dedicated numeric keypad, which can be very handy for data entry tasks, though it’s not a necessity.
Lenovo claims up to 10 hours of battery life, though actual endurance depends on usage. Still, it provides a dependable baseline for daily productivity.
The device includes a variety of ports, such as two USB-A ports, a USB-C port, and a dedicated HDMI port, making it easy to connect external displays and peripherals—an important feature for those who need extra screen real estate.
Chromebooks are often praised for their ease of management compared to Windows machines. With advancements in AI, a Chromebook connects seamlessly to cloud-based AI services like Google’s Gemini or ChatGPT through a browser tab.
Additionally, Google offers an AI subscription as part of its Chromebook Plus program. For more on Prime Day deals, check out our detailed coverage, including the Acer Chromebook Plus 516 for $299—38% off at Best Buy.
Although Lenovo’s 10% Prime Day discount isn’t large, the deal’s value lies in the price, which is already lower than many Chromebooks with less impressive specs. I consider this the best Chromebook deal during Amazon’s October Prime Day, and I believe you’ll find it worthwhile.
