Mortal Shell 2 Tarstones are needed to fully upgrade your Tarstones. While they’re pretty easy to find, it’s also easy to overlook them. If you want to upgrade Tarstones and find that you don’t have any Tarcores in your inventory, don’t worry — they are likely nearby, waiting for you.
How to find Tarcores in MS2
Tarcores are earned by upgrading your Tarstones. However, they don’t automatically appear in your inventory. You need to go to the Tarforge and pick them up from the outlet in front of it.
If you’ve already upgraded your Tarstones but still don’t have any Tarcores to level them up further, head back to Franz. You’ll probably find plenty of Tarcores sitting in the mouth of the Tarforge, just where you left them.
Since it takes six Tarcores to bring each Tarstone to level three, you won’t find enough in one playthrough to upgrade all your stones. You’ll need to replay the game in New Game Plus several times. Be sure to pick which Tarstones to upgrade first during your initial run.
Once you decide which stones to improve, it’s a good idea to pair them with the best Mortal Shell 2 shells. If you haven’t already, consider grabbing the Genessa Shell. On your second playthrough, you might want to try using the Mortal Shell 2 Slayer Seal or increase the difficulty for a tougher challenge.
