It’s been about five days since the GTA 6 Extended Look debuted on Netflix, and it quickly soared to become one of the platform’s most-watched movies. According to Netflix’s statistics, the gameplay reveal for Grand Theft Auto VI has already amassed an impressive 31.1 million views as of September 2, 2026, and the number continues to grow.
GTA 6 Extended Look Tops Netflix’s English Film Charts
According to a report from Netflix, the GTA 6 Extended Look took the top spot on the “English Film” charts, ranking number one in 87 out of 93 countries tracked worldwide. In just four days since its Netflix premiere, the preview drew 31.1 million views as fans flocked to watch the gameplay reveal.
The video competed with and surpassed films like The Whisper Man, which features a star-studded cast including Robert De Niro. Expect the GTA 6 Extended Look to possibly hold onto its top position for another week or so, as the aforementioned film has accumulated around 23.2 million views and remains popular.

What’s behind the massive success of the GTA 6 Extended Look? The 27-minute gameplay reveal, captured natively on a PlayStation 5, provided players with a detailed view of new features and Vice City. It highlighted the revamped wanted level system and demonstrated how GTA 6’s protagonists interact and switch between characters.
This is just the beginning of what was revealed during the Netflix showcase. Interestingly, recent GTA 6 leaks didn’t seem to dampen the excitement or slow down the anticipation for the upcoming release.
Beyond Netflix, the GTA 6 Extended Look on YouTube has also broken the 17 million views mark in the past five days. The showcase’s success even led to a reported 436% increase in pre-orders for GTA 6 on the same day as the reveal.
Looking ahead, there’s a good chance we could see another full-length trailer later this year, similar to the launch cycle of Red Dead Redemption 2. Rockstar Games might reveal more about the GTA 6 map, which is reportedly twice the size of GTA 5’s. With so much potential content to showcase, developers have ample opportunities to maintain the high momentum and excitement.
