Google is currently testing the placement of AI-generated summaries directly within Google Ads sponsored listings, positioned just below the ad description. A disclaimer has been added, clarifying that “Google AI responses are generated independently and may contain errors, so double-check responses.”
This observation was made by Darcy Burk, who shared a screenshot on X showcasing this new feature. In the image, the AI-generated summary appears beneath the ad description, raising questions about how these summaries are integrated into paid results.
Google has previously experimented with AI-generated summaries in search snippets for organic, unpaid listings. Now, it seems they are expanding this approach to advertisements as well. Attempts to obtain an official response from Google’s Ads team have so far been unsuccessful.
Additional screenshots highlight the feature, including a humorous comment from Burk criticizing the disclaimer about AI responses and highlighting the potential pitfalls of unlicensed service providers, suggesting such features may have unintended, less helpful consequences.
At first glance, it appeared this could be an unlabeled third-party content extension within ads, but this seems unlikely. Discussions about this test are ongoing among industry professionals on forums and social media platforms.
