Upgrading Your Gear in Mirthwood: A Step-by-Step Guide

Quick Links

Upgrading your tools in Mirthwood helps you gather more resources from tougher rocks and inflicts greater damage. Sticking with Copper items won’t get you very far in the game, as tools are ranked by tiers based on the material quality. Copper and Wood sit at the bottom of this hierarchy.

The top-tier tools available are Gold tools, but you’ll need to accumulate a good amount of money to craft these upgrades. Here’s a breakdown of the available tool kits and what you’ll need to gather for each upgrade.

To begin, track down a blacksmith. You’ll find a blacksmith south of Brightoak, where the houses start to resemble brown tones. This is where you can purchase tool upgrades, although the costs are quite steep at the beginning of the game.

Upgrading your tools enhances their effectiveness with each improvement:

  • Watering Pot: Expands the area you can water.
  • Scythe: Increases the amount of hay harvested and widens the swing.
  • Hoe: Speeds up the tilling process.

Timely upgrades are crucial; otherwise, farming and gathering resources can feel tedious. Better tools help you collect materials quickly, allowing you more time for quests.

To level up your tools from Copper to Iron, you need at least 750 coins and access to an anvil, which can be crafted at your workbench using 15 Stone and 2 Iron Bars.

Tip

You can find ores in various regions. Iron ore is located in Murkwater Marsh. Remember to use a Furnace to smelt ore into bars.
