Kevin Feige Shares Miles Morales' Spider-Man MCU Debut News

For years, comic book enthusiasts have speculated about when Miles Morales would make his live-action appearance within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming fueled these hopes by introducing Miles’ uncle, Aaron Davis, played by Donald Glover. In a brief moment, Davis hints at having a nephew he cares for, catching the attention of fans who wished to see more.

Despite this initial tease, not much has transpired in terms of Miles’ introduction to the MCU. However, the character has surged in popularity, largely due to his prominent role in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man video games and the critically acclaimed animated movies Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. After seven years of anticipation, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has recently provided fans with a glimpse of when Miles might finally join the MCU.

In a recent conversation with Omelete, Feige hinted that there’s a possibility for Miles’ arrival in the MCU following the release of Sony’s upcoming third installment of the Spider-Verse series, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. He shared, “Miles will appear in the third Spider-Verse, which is in production. I hope that, shortly after that, he can enter the MCU in live-action.”

Originally scheduled for March 29, 2024, the release date for Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has since been removed, leaving fans uncertain about when they might see Miles Morales in the MCU. Feige’s comments suggest that the character’s live-action debut will come only after the conclusion of Sony’s Spider-Verse trilogy, making it difficult to predict how long fans may have to wait.

Feige appears genuinely enthusiastic about incorporating Miles Morales into the MCU, a sentiment echoed by Tom Holland, who portrays Peter Parker. Holland expressed his desire to see Miles introduced in a live-action adaptation during a chat with Rich Roll. He stated, “If I could be fortunate enough to bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and into the MCU, I’d love to provide a young kid with the opportunity similar to what [Robert] Downey [Jr.] did for me.”

In summary, it seems that Miles Morales’ future in the MCU is more about timing rather than possibility.
