How to Get One for Yourself
Taming a Dreadmare differs from the usual approach in Ark: Survival Ascended. Instead of directly taming it, you must defeat a Dreadmare to obtain the Dark Altar it drops. This special item allows you to summon a level 1 Dreadmare. Note that all Dreadmares are male, so breeding is currently unavailable. To find a Dreadmare, venture into the world during the night, as they do not appear during the daytime. They are frequently located in areas around the center of the map. After tracking down and defeating a Dreadmare, be sure to collect its Dark Altar.
Be aware that Dreadmares possess considerable health, and their Dark Wind ability can pose a significant threat, so be prepared for a challenging fight.
Take the Dark Altar to a secure location and set it down to spawn your new level 1 Dreadmare. Once you have summoned the Dreadmare, you can start leveling it up and utilizing its powerful abilities, such as Black Hole, Dark Wind, and Terror Shield.
