Sometimes, relationships change. If you’ve lost interest in your Max subscription (previously known as HBO Max), ending the subscription is quite simple.

While Max boasts a great selection of movies and shows at a competitive price of around $10 per month, it can quickly become pricey if you’re not making use of it.

How to Cancel Max on iOS and Android Devices

If you subscribed to Max using an iPhone, iPad, or any Android device, you can easily cancel your subscription through these devices. Here’s how:

Step 1: Open the Max app and tap your profile icon, then go to Settings.

Step 2: Tap Subscription > Manage Subscription > Cancel Subscription.

Step 3: To finalize, tap Continue to Cancel, followed by Yes, Cancel Subscription.

How to Cancel Max on a PC

If you registered for Max on a laptop or desktop, or any mobile device, you can cancel via max.com. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of the home page, then select Subscription.

Step 2: Select Cancel Subscription > Continue to Cancel.

Step 3: If you’re certain you want to proceed, click Yes, Cancel Subscription.

How to Cancel Max Through Your Cable or Phone Provider

If you originally signed up for Max through a cable provider or a streaming device such as Roku, Apple TV, or Amazon Fire TV Stick, you’ll need to cancel through that service. For example, if you signed up via Roku, here’s how to cancel:

Step 1: Log into your Roku account through a web browser (not the Roku app).

Step 2: Hover over your profile icon and select My Account.

Step 3: Under Payments & Subscriptions, select My Subscriptions.

Step 4: Click on Manage Subscription and choose the option to cancel.

If your subscription is already canceled but you wish to restart, there should be a Resubscribe button available.

How to Resubscribe to Max

Getting your Max subscription back is just as straightforward as the cancellation process. If you’re using the Max app on a mobile device, simply launch the app, log into your account, and hit Renew Subscription, select your preferred plan, and follow the prompts to complete the sign-up through your device’s app store. After that, click Start Streaming.

If you want to resubscribe through the Max website, go to max.com, log in to your account, and click Start Streaming when prompted, followed by Sign Up Now. After choosing a plan and entering your payment information, select Start Subscription.

What Are the Subscription Prices for Max?

Max offers different pricing tiers. Here’s a breakdown of their subscription costs:

  • Ultimate Ad-free: $21 per month or $210 per year
  • Ad-free: $17 per month or $170 per year
  • With Ads: $10 per month or $100 per year

Are Free Trials Available for Max?

Currently, Max does not provide free trials as part of their offerings. However, you can watch select episodes for free on Max from various shows.
