Actor Katsuaki Takahashi passed away from a myocardial infarction on the 19th at the age of 59, as announced by his agency. The funeral was held privately, attended only by close family members.
Born in Osaka Prefecture in 1964, Takahashi graduated from the Faculty of Literature at Tamagawa University before joining the Theater Research Institute affiliated with Bunkyoza. He made his stage debut in 1990 and went on to perform in numerous productions, including “Twelfth Night” and “Jangarian.”
His final stage performance was in “Sunflower” last November. In addition to his stage work, Takahashi appeared in films such as “Fire Flower” (released in December) and “SENSEKI” (scheduled for release next spring).
