Among the Everdark Sovereigns in Elden Ring Nightreign, Augur is probably the easiest to defeat—once you understand her trick. She relies on one main move and needs some preparation before facing her. You should study her patterns rather than rushing in blindly.
With our guidance, you’ll gain insights into her weaknesses. For example, banishing her and ending her reign involves using the Storm Ruler, a weapon infused with the power of the Nightlord, which Maris herself supplied. It seems as if Augur wants you to beat her—so who are we to refuse?

- Increase Flask regeneration.
- Maximize stamina and stamina regeneration.
- Raise resistance to ailments to 57 or higher.
Bring along these items:
- 2 Warming Stones
- Boiled Crab
- An extra Flask of your preferred type
The Warming Stone is particularly useful because you’ll spend a lot of time stationary, charging your Storm Ruler.

Augur’s New Moveset
Insert visual of her attack animations and patterns
Her new move set is straightforward, making her fights more about endurance than skill. Once you get used to her quick attacks and minimal tricks, defeating her becomes a matter of whittling down her large health pool.
Tips for the Fight
- Wave Breaker: Augur spins and gathers blue energy, then releases a wave. Dodge by sprinting sideways or chain-dodging through it; be ready to heal if you’re caught.
- Night’s Divide: Augur flies up, channels a blue laser, and fires it in front then upwards. You should sprint left or right and dodge at the last second to escape the blue field.
- Star Barrage: She spirals into the air and rains star-shaped orbs, which explode after landing. Stay locked-on for precise movement, then dodge or sprint out of their range.
- Charge: She charges forward in a wider spiral. Dodge forward through her and stay close.
- Night’s Crown: She spins and surrounds herself with purple orbs firing beams. Focus on destroying these orbs with Storm Ruler or dodge away as the beams fire.
Key Mechanics
- Waves are dangerous because they sneak up quickly; sprint around their sides to avoid damage.
- Star Barrage can target multiple players. Turn off auto-lock to better see where the orbs are flying and react accordingly.
- She cannot be critted due to her size, so prioritize using Storm Ruler’s powered-up attacks.
Strategy for Victory
Once she enters her second phase, aim Storm Ruler at her purple orbs when she reaches about 70% health. Destroying or dispelling these orbs:
- Stops her magic beams.
- Lowers her threat level.
- Causes her to stagger temporarily, leaving her vulnerable.
When her health drops to around 40%, she’ll perform a Wave Break attack multiple times—avoid these waves at all costs. Staying under her is the riskiest move, so keep your distance and stay attentive.
Rewards
Defeating her grants access to a new Everdark Sovereign relic:
- Dark Night of the Fathom:
- Increases max HP
- Restores HP consistently during combat
- Slowly heals you and allies when HP is low
By mastering her attack patterns, especially Storm Ruler usage, the fight boils down to patience, endurance, and strategic damage application.
