We tried out Envato Elements ourselves, and this is our honest review about it. Is it really worth your money in 2024? Let’s have a look!
In our review, we will talk about;
- Envato Elements has old themes and Plugins
- Web Resources are not updated
- Perfect for Graphic Designers
- Best Choice for Video Editors
- Worst Choice for Web Developers
- No Support for Items
- Conclusion
1. Envato Elements has old Themes and Plugins
It is one of the worst thing I found in the elements, the themes are old (majority of them updated back in 2019) including the plugins. Meaning they’re either not compitable or cause issues with the websites.
And uploading such plugins or themes can be problematic, especially when it comes to web development, it is highly vulnerable to use such old themes or plugins.
2. Web Resources are not Updated
Not just Themes and Plugins, there are many things that are updated back in either 2019/2020, which means nothing is from 2024. Including all the things from Shopify to Joomla or Magento, everything is outdated.
3. Perfect for Graphic Designers
If you’re a graphic designer and you design things for your clients, Envato Elements can be heaven for you, as it allows ready-made social media templates, fonts, and elements that can help you create something great from scratch.
I pretty much enjoyed looking at the resources they made for the Graphic Designers.
4. Best Choice for Video Editors
The same goes for Video Editors; if you’re an Adobe Premiere, After Effects, or Apple Cut Pro, they have pretty great stuff that you can work on. I downloaded some After Effects files and played around, and it is something swift, easy, and perfect!
5. Worst Choice for Web Developers
If you’re a web developer and looking to buy it to get your hands on Envato Elements, It is not recommended as they have another part ThemeForest and CodeCanyon, where they’re selling everything, but for double the cost. So, obviously, they wouldn’t give it for $16/month.
They’re giving good Theme Kits (Only for Elementor) but you can get those for free. So, why would you pay to get something you can get for free? Right!
6. No Support
This is so far I found to be the biggest drawback, they do not offer support to the listed items in the service, which means, if you find a bug or anything that is unusual, you have to either fix it because they won’t entertain your request for it, citing the fact that you “technically didn’t buy it” which is felt is very wrong.
7. Conclusion
Summing all of it up, If you’re a Web Developer, it is not worth your money, not even if they’re giving you so many themes for free. They are of no use if they have been updated regularly. This means they can pose a vulnerability that creates an opportunity for hackers to get into your website.
If you’re a video editor or graphic designer, or anyone linked with design, this is a perfect choice for you to go with. But don’t forget, there are tons of other services giving the double things compared to Envato Elements.
