The Sims Legacy Collection and The Sims 2 Legacy Collection are now available on Steam for prices of $20 and $30, respectively. Additionally, you can grab them both together at a discounted rate of $40 in the The Sims 25th Birthday Bundle.
Many Sims enthusiasts argue that the earlier titles in the series offer a richer experience compared to The Sims 4, and now gamers can test this theory for themselves. The Sims Legacy Collection contains the base game, the The Sims 4 Throwback Kit, and the following expansions:
- The Sims Livin’ Large
- The Sims House Party
- The Sims Hot Date
- The Sims Vacation
- The Sims Unleashed
- The Sims Superstar
- The Sims Makin’ Magic
The Sims 2 Legacy Collection, on the other hand, comprises the base game and the Sims 4: Grunge Revival Kit, as well as the following packs:
- The Sims 2: University
- The Sims 2: Nightlife
- The Sims 2: Open for Business
- The Sims 2: Pets
- The Sims 2: Bon Voyage
- The Sims 2: Seasons
- The Sims 2: FreeTime
- The Sims 2: Apartment Life
- The Sims 2: Holiday Party Pack
- The Sims 2: Family Fun Stuff
- The Sims 2: Glamour Life Stuff
- The Sims 2: Happy Holiday Stuff
- The Sims 2: Celebration! Stuff
- The Sims 2: H&M Fashion Stuff
- The Sims 2: Teen Style Stuff
- The Sims 2: Kitchen & Bath Interior Design Stuff
- The Sims 2: Mansion & Garden Stuff

These updated releases are optimized for contemporary Windows operating systems, providing compatibility with both Windows 10 and 11. Steam advises that players should have at least 4GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 600 or better GPU, along with 17GB of available storage for each game.
Sadly, fans hoping for a fresh game installment may face a longer wait. While The Sims 5 hasn’t been officially confirmed, EA and Maxis have stated that it is not currently under development. EA released a message clarifying, “We’re focused on creating a variety of games and experiences that will explore different facets of the simulated life genre, including cozy games, social and collaborative gameplay, mobile narrative adventures, and ongoing improvements to The Sims 4, which will remain a cornerstone of the series.”
The future of the Sims franchise remains uncertain, but one thing seems clear: The Sims is here to stay for the foreseeable future.
