TEAC has introduced the AP-507 power amplifier, a new addition to its esteemed Reference 500 series. This compact yet powerful component is designed to deliver high performance while saving space on your media shelf.
TEAC notes that the AP-507’s dimensions are akin to that of a standard sheet of paper, measuring 11.5 by 10.75 by 3.37 inches, and it weighs only 9.75 pounds. This makes it “ideal for desktop use,” according to their announcement.

Don’t let its small footprint deceive you; the AP-507 packs significant power and versatility. It can function as a standalone stereo amplifier or be paired with another AP-507 in a bi-amp mono mode configuration, providing 170 watts per channel into 4 ohms. Additionally, it can be set up in a BTL (Bridge Tied Load) mode, delivering an impressive 350 watts per channel into 8 ohms. This requires one AP-507 for each speaker, but at an MSRP of $2,100 per unit, it opens up options for serious audio enthusiasts.
The AP-507 goes beyond stereo applications; its compact design also makes it suitable for home theater setups, integrating seamlessly to enhance surround sound systems.
At its heart, the TEAC AP-507 utilizes a custom-tuned Hypex NCOREx power amplifier module crafted to meet TEAC’s rigorous standards. It incorporates an in-house designed dual-mono buffer amplifier, which ensures exceptional clarity and depth in sound. The dual-mono configuration maintains complete independence between the left and right channels, resulting in improved separation, minimal crosstalk, and reduced noise.
In addition to its audio technologies, the AP-507 is equipped with a robust 2.8-mm thick “semi-floating” top plate and a three-point “Stress-Less Isolation Foot system” that mitigates vibrations for a more stable and pure sound experience.

The rear panel of the AP-507 features XLR and RCA analog inputs for both left and right channels, along with mode selection switches. The front panel is accentuated with eye-catching dual UV meters, which offer four levels of brightness adjustment. The amplifier is available in both silver and black finishes.
The TEAC AP-507 is set to launch in spring 2025 and will be available at TEACUSA.com and through select dealers. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $2,199.
