If you’re feeling dissatisfied with your current mobile carrier, T-Mobile is offering a generous incentive to switch, providing up to $800 per line for those who decide to migrate. The Carrier Freedom program allows you to retain your existing phone number while clearing any outstanding financial obligations with your previous provider. This offer might ring a bell, as it’s reminiscent of a similar initiative from AT&T.
Families can also benefit, as T-Mobile now extends this offer to up to four lines instead of the previous limit of two, potentially allowing users to receive as much as $3,200 in total. This amount is typically sufficient to cover early termination fees and any remaining debts on your device.
However, there are a few conditions. For instance, device payment plans from Verizon and prepaid arrangements are excluded from this offer. Although T-Mobile hasn’t yet updated the eligibility criteria on their website, we anticipate minimal changes from the past version of the plan.

Additionally, customers can earn up to $1,000 in bill credits for their devices, a notable increase from the previous ceiling of $830. This enables consumers to pay off an older phone and subsequently trade it in at T-Mobile for a new one. It offers a straightforward approach to extricating yourself from a less than ideal contract while also upgrading your device.

T-Mobile has also made significant strides in enhancing its service recently. As of 2024, the carrier achieved an average download speed of 200 Mbps on its 5G network. Furthermore, in December, T-Mobile partnered with Starlink to introduce satellite services, thereby broadening its coverage.
What was once considered a secondary option among carriers, T-Mobile has now solidified its standing, directly competing with AT&T and Verizon while still offering more affordable plans. For individuals seeking to cut costs, making the switch may be a worthwhile decision.
