Welcome to the Fortress of Solitude.
During Warner Bros. presentation at CinemaCon, James Gunn unveiled a first look at Superman, which has now made its way online. The nearly five-minute footage opens similarly to the initial teaser, featuring a weary Superman (played by David Corenswet) imploring Krypto the Dog to return him home. This new preview offers fans their first glimpse of the Fortress of Solitude, where a cadre of Kryptonian robots utilizes solar energy to mend his wounds, with Alan Tudyk lending his voice to Robot 4.
This preview also dives deeper into the cast of Superman, showcasing characters like Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan), Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult), Hawkgirl (Isabela Merced), Mister Terrific (Edi Gathegi), Metamorpho (Anthony Carrigan), and Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion).
Superman features a talented cast, including Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, María Gabriela de Faría, Wendell Pierce, Pruitt Taylor Vince, and Neva Howell.
James Gunn writes and directs Superman, marking the inception of the new DC Universe’s feature films. He is set to produce alongside Peter Safran, co-CEO of DC Studios, with executive producers Nikolas Korda, Chantal Nong Vo, and Lars Winthe.
The success of Superman is crucial for the future of both DC Studios and Warner Bros. This film kicks off the DCU’s Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, establishing a cohesive universe for upcoming DC projects. Following Superman, the next installment in the DCU will be Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, featuring Milly Alcock as Superman’s cousin, Kara Zor-El/Supergirl. Directed by Craig Gillespie, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow is scheduled for release on June 26, 2026.
After Supergirl, fans can anticipate Clayface, a horror film centered on a struggling actor who injects a substance that transforms his body into clay, allowing him to alter his appearance at will. Directed by James Watkins from a script by Mike Flanagan, Clayface is set to hit theaters on September 11, 2025.
Mark your calendars: Superman is set to soar into theaters on July 11, 2025.
