SEOUL, South Korea – September 11, 2024 – Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has unveiled the rollout of One UI 6.1.1[i], set to introduce the latest Galaxy AI features to a wider range of Galaxy devices through a forthcoming update.
The deployment commenced in September, allowing the AI capabilities of the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 to extend to earlier models such as the Galaxy S24 series, S23 series, S23 FE, Z Fold5, Z Flip5, and Tab S9 series.
This enhanced operating system incorporates advanced features that boost communication, productivity, and creativity, ultimately enhancing overall mobile experiences for users by offering greater intelligence and convenience.
Seamless Communication Across Languages
Galaxy AI simplifies cross-language conversations. The Interpreter feature now includes Listening Mode across the expanded device lineup, facilitating one-way translations during presentations. Additionally, with Chat Assist, users can effortlessly create emails, social media updates, and more through Composer. By entering a few keywords, Samsung’s AI can craft a complete message that resonates with the user’s tone and style. Previously exclusive to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, suggested replies are now also available on chosen devices from the Galaxy S24 series, enabling swift responses straight from the wrist when linked to the Galaxy Watch7 or Galaxy Watch Ultra.
Enhanced Productivity Anytime, Anywhere
The expanded Galaxy AI features are set to transform any Galaxy device into a formidable productivity companion. Note Assist eliminates tedious note-taking during meetings by providing translations and summaries, while the newly introduced transcript capability can quickly generate notes from voice recordings. Moreover, users can benefit from PDF Overlay Translation, which simplifies the translation of texts within PDF documents and even translate text found in images and charts. The Sketch to Image tool elevates photography by offering a selection of images that complement the original based on simple sketches. Additionally, Circle to Search coupled with Google’s advanced search features generates quick results, now including step-by-step solutions for complicated math problems and the newly added Sound Search functionality.
Effortless Creative Expression
Galaxy AI empowers users to produce professional-quality content, catering to both amateur photographers and aspiring creators. Users can effortlessly generate portraits in various styles, such as 3D cartoon or watercolor, with the Portrait Studio. Furthermore, those utilizing Instant Slow-mo can easily slow down video playback while retaining high image quality, allowing for quick saving and sharing in just a few straightforward steps.
Update Rollout Schedule
The software update for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series began in Korea on September 5, followed by deployments in North America and Europe on September 9. Future updates for additional Galaxy devices and countries will be rolled out over the forthcoming weeks.
