It has been quite some time since Roku refreshed its streaming stick lineup, but the company has just introduced two new models: the $30 Roku Streaming Stick, which offers HD resolution, and the $40 Roku Streaming Stick Plus, which supports 4K and HDR. These latest additions will replace Roku’s Express streaming devices, resulting in a more simplified product lineup featuring the two new sticks, along with the existing Ultra, Streaming Stick 4K, and Streambar SE. Preorders for both new Streaming Stick models are available starting today.

These new models are said to be 35% smaller than competing brands’ devices. Roku’s analysis indicates that most consumers (90%) prefer to maintain a tidy setup with streaming devices and minimal visible wires behind their TVs. Both new sticks come equipped with the same voice-enabled Bluetooth remote included with the Streaming Stick 4K, allowing users to control the volume on their TVs as well.
The Streaming Stick 4K will still be available at a price of $50. While the new Streaming Stick Plus supports 4K and HDR, it notably does not offer Dolby Vision support, which may explain its lower price point.
Roku also revealed its 2025 TV lineup, which includes a new 85-inch Roku Select Series model. The Roku TV Pro Series will feature “custom factory calibration,” which the company claims ensures every TV achieves a stunning picture right from the start.
However, the Roku Plus Series TV is receiving the most significant updates. It will feature Roku Smart Picture Max, a function that automatically adjusts picture settings for each scene, and will use mini-LED backlighting for improved dynamic contrast, deeper blacks, and a broader color spectrum. The Roku Plus Series will also include a remote finder button and integrated cable management, features that were previously only available on the Roku Pro Series. Additionally, all 2025 Roku TVs will offer Bluetooth headphone connectivity.
As a sneak peek into the future, Roku has also hinted at the upcoming release of projectors with built-in Roku capabilities. Similar to its foray into televisions, Roku has developed a new reference design for the Roku TV Smart Projector and shared it with all existing Roku TV partners. More details are expected to be announced soon.
