OnePlus is set to unveil its newest smartphone operating system, OxygenOS 15, on October 24. This latest version is built on the foundation of Android 15 and comes after several months of beta testing, which began in May following Google’s I/O developer conference. It was made available for a range of OnePlus devices during that time.
Although OnePlus has been tight-lipped about the intricacies of OxygenOS 15, one notable enhancement involves the animations within Android. The company has employed software algorithms aimed at refining these animations for a smoother appearance. Further details about the AI features remain vague, but they are said to be tailored towards productivity and creativity.
At this moment, OnePlus has not disclosed specific information regarding the release date, the devices that will support OxygenOS 15, or the timeline for updates. However, it is likely that the OnePlus 12, OnePlus Open, and OnePlus Open Apex Edition will be among the first to receive the update, with the OnePlus 12R probably following shortly thereafter. According to a post on the OnePlus community forum, the rollout roadmap will also be shared during the launch event.
Fans can tune in to the OxygenOS 15 launch event online on October 24 at 15:30 BST, which corresponds to 7:30 AM Pacific Time and 10:30 AM Eastern Time. In the meantime, additional information about Android 15 updates and timelines for both OnePlus and other manufacturers can be accessed here.
