Nothing has made a considerable impact in the smartphone landscape with its striking designs and competitive pricing, yet its devices have been noticeably absent from the US market—at least officially. For tech enthusiasts willing to navigate the challenges, the beta program has provided an avenue to acquire these phones, though securing compatible carriers has been a hurdle.
However, that’s set to change later this year. Earlier today, Carl Pei, the co-founder of Nothing, took to X to confirm that the company’s upcoming flagship will indeed be available in the United States. This announcement came in response to a user questioning the release status of the Nothing Phone 3.
A few weeks ago, Nothing indicated that the Phone 3 would hit stores in the third quarter of 2025, closely aligning with the anticipated launch of the iPhone 17 series and several other major announcements, including Meta’s new AI smart glasses featuring a monocular display.
Currently, the latest offerings from Nothing include the Phone 3a and 3a Pro, available for purchase through their beta channel in the United States. However, these models are not being sold through traditional carrier partnerships or retail stores.
Why is this a Significant Milestone?
Nothing has yet to clarify why their phones have not been available through direct sales in the US, despite some users having limited access in the beta format. The reasons for this are evident, a fact acknowledged by Pei in the past.
The competition in the US market, although not as fierce as that in Asia, remains dominated by established brands like Apple, Samsung, Google, and OnePlus, which command a sizable portion of the Android market.

“The US market is predominantly Apple-focused, leaving little choice for those seeking alternatives, which provides a great opportunity for Phone (2),” Pei commented in an interview with Forbes. A significant obstacle remains the challenge of establishing a viable sales model in a market dominated by carriers.
In a recent discussion with IDC analysts, it was emphasized that Nothing needs to secure strong partnerships with major carriers such as Verizon and T-Mobile to reach a broader audience. This is critical as consumer buying behavior often leans towards installment payments integrated with their voice and data plans.
For the moment, the beta program remains the only option for fans of Nothing in the US. Last night, the London-based brand also introduced the CMF Phone 2 Pro, priced appealingly at $279. This model features an eye-catching modular design in vibrant colors coupled with robust specifications.
